EUROPA 2021 (Endangered National Wildlife) stamp on FDC from Germany

Peu d'administrations postales (Suisse, Artsakh, Pays-Bas, Norvège, Finlande, Chypre, Irlande, Danemark) ont choisi des insectes sur leurs timbres EUROPA émis cette année, la plupart ayant sélectionner des papillons, un thème populaire pour de nombreux collectionneurs.
Pour rappel, le thème choisi par l'association PostEurop pour les timbres EUROPA émis en 2021 est consacré à la faune nationale en voie de disparition ("Gefährdete nationale Wildtiere" en allemand).
La Deutsche Post a choisi de représenter 3 espèces différentes de coléoptères sur son très joli timbre EUROPA (0,80€), conçu par Thomas Serres, mis en circulation le 6 mai 2021.
Ce timbre, imprimé en feuillet de 10 timbres, a été conçu à partir de photographies de ces insectes, provenant du fonds du parc national de la forêt de Bavière ("Nationalpark Bayerischer Wald"). 
Few postal administrations (Switzerland, Artsakh, Netherlands, Norway, Finland, Cyprus, Ireland, Denmark) have chosen insects on their EUROPA stamps issued this year, most having selected butterflies, a popular theme for many collectors.
As a reminder, the theme chosen by the PostEurop association for the EUROPA stamps issued in 2021 is devoted to endangered national wildlife ("Gefährdete nationale Wildtiere" in German).
The Deutsche Post has chosen to represent three different species of beetles on its very nice EUROPA stamp (€ 0.80), designed by Thomas Serres, put into circulation on May 6, 2021.
This stamp, printed in a sheetlet of 10 stamps (as usual), was designed from photographs of these insects from the Bavarian Forest National Park ("Nationalpark Bayerischer Wald") collection.

 

Un grand merci Jens pour cette splendide lettre concernant ce timbre, avec TAD bleu du Premier Jour d'émission (différent des TADs officiels de Berlin et Bonn) de la ville de Würzburg, située dans le nord-ouest de la Bavière !
Ce TAD représente une des 3 espèces de coléoptères à l'honneur sur ce timbre, Tragosoma depsarium ("Zottenbock" en allemand), les 2 autres espèces étant Mycetoma suturale et Ceruchus chrysomelinus.
Ces 3 espèces font partie des 16 coléoptères reliques de ce parc national de la forêt de Bavière. Avant l'établissement de la foresterie moderne, ces coléoptères étaient un spectacle familier dans les forêts de Bavière. Lorsque la forêt a commencé à être exploitée de manière plus intensive au début du siècle dernier, le bois mort a disparu et avec lui l'habitat de ces coléoptères...
Une étude a montré que plus de 75% de la biomasse des insectes volants avait disparu en 30 ans dans les zones protégées allemandes. Les deux principales causes de ce déclin sont la destruction ou la perturbation des habitats et l'intensification des pratiques agricoles et sylvicoles.
Jens a complété son affranchissement avec un timbre (0,30€, émis le 2 janvier 2020)  faisant partie de la série courante "fleurs" en cours (débutée en 2005), une fleur d'hémérocalle ici, pour atteindre le tarif en vigueur pour un envoi en Europe (1,10€) jusqu'à 20g.
Many thanks Jens for this splendid letter regarding this stamp, with First Day of Issue blue postmarks (different from the official cancellations from Berlin and Bonn) from the city of Würzburg, located in the north-west of Bavaria!
This postmark features one of the 3 species of beetles in the spotlight on this stamp, Tragosoma depsarium ("Zottenbock" in German), the other 2 species being Mycetoma suturale and Ceruchus chrysomelinus.
These 3 species are among the 16 beetles relics of this Bavarian Forest National Park. Before the establishment of modern forestry, these beetles were a familiar sight in the Bavarian forests. When the forest began to be exploited more intensively at the beginning of the last century, the dead wood disappeared and with it the habitat of these beetles ...
A study showed that more than 75% of the biomass of flying insects had disappeared in 30 years in German protected areas. The two main causes of this decline are the destruction or disturbance of habitats and the intensification of agricultural and forestry practices.
Jens completed his postage with one stamp (€ 0.30, issued on January 2, 2020) as part of the ongoing definitive "flowers" series (started in 2005), a daylily here, to reach the rate in force for a shipment in Europe (€ 1.10) up to 20g.
