Euromed Postal 2021 (Handicraft Jewelry in the Mediterranean) stamp on cover from Lebanon

Timbre Euromed Postal 2021 (Bijoux artisanaux de la Méditerranée) sur lettre du Liban

La poste libanaise participe depuis 2014 aux émissions de timbres "Euromed Postal" et a mis en circulation, le 24 août 2021, un nouveau timbre incluant le logo Euromed Postal (un faucon stylisé), consacré au thème des bijoux artisanaux de la Méditerranée cette année.
Depuis 2014, certains pays membres (23 au total actuellement) de l'Union Postale pour la Méditerranée (PUMed), une union restreinte de l'UPU, émettent en effet chaque année des timbres ayant un thème commun lié à la région méditerranéenne.
Cette Union Postale pour la Méditerranée, créée en 2011, comprend actuellement les opérateurs postaux de 21 pays du bassin méditerranéen (Albanie, Algérie, Bosnie-Herzégovine, Croatie, Chypre, Égypte, Espagne, France, Grèce, Italie, Jordanie, Liban, Libye, Malte, Maroc, Monaco, Monténégro, Slovénie, Syrie, Tunisie, Turquie) ainsi que le Portugal et la Mauritanie. 
The Lebanese Post has participated since 2014 in the issue of "Euromed Postal" stamps and put into circulation, on August 24, 2021, a new stamp including the Euromed Postal logo (a stylized hawk), dedicated to the theme of Handicraft Jewelry in the Mediterranean this year .
Since 2014, some member countries (currently 23 in total) of the Postal Union for the Mediterranean (PUMed), a restricted union of the UPU, are indeed issuing each year stamps devoted to a common theme related to the Mediterranean region. 
This Postal Union for the Mediterranean, created in 2011, is currently including 21 postal operators of Mediterranean countries (Albania, Algeria, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, Cyprus, Egypt, Spain, France, Greece, Italy, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Malta, Morocco, Monaco, Montenegro, Slovenia, Syria, Tunisia, Turkey) as well as Portugal and Mauritania. 

 

Un grand merci Waref pour cette intéressante lettre envoyée le 26 août 2021 depuis le quartier Chouran de Beyrouth, affranchie avec ce timbre Euromed Postal (2250 L.L.), en 2 exemplaires  !
Ce timbre (tirage : 200000), l'un des plus réussis cette année à mon avis, a été conçu en collaboration avec Selim Mouzannar (né en 1963), un joaillier et militant des droits civiques franco-libanais, président-fondateur de la Maison Selim Mouzannar, une maison de joaillerie et d'artisanat basée à Beyrouth. 
En 2016, il remporte la catégorie "Best in Colored Gemstones" du prix Couture Design à Las Vegas pour son collier "Amal". Ses créations reflètent ses racines moyen-orientales et s'inspirent de l'architecture et de la vie quotidienne d'une ville au bord de la mer.
La Méditerranée étant une éternelle inspiration pour Selim Mouzannar, les boucles d'oreilles représentées sur ce timbre sont issues de sa collection "Fish For Love", évoquant les délicates écailles d'or rose de poissons multicolores et scintillants.

This stamp (print run: 200,000), one of the most successful this year in my opinion, was designed in collaboration with Selim Mouzannar (born in 1963), a French-Lebanese jeweler and civil rights activist, president and founder of the Maison Selim Mouzannar, a jewelry and craft house based in Beirut.

In 2016, he won the "Best in Colored Gemstones" category of the Couture Design Award in Las Vegas for his "Amal" necklace. His creations reflect his Middle Eastern roots and are inspired by the architecture and daily life of a city by the sea.

The Mediterranean being an eternal inspiration for Selim Mouzannar, the earrings featured on this stamp come from his "Fish For Love" collection, evoking the delicate pink gold scales of multicolored and sparkling fish.
