"Olympic Games Tokyo 2020" stamp set on FDC from Algeria

Série "Jeux Olympiques Tokyo 2020" sur FDC d'Algérie

Le 18 juillet 2021 (vente générale), la poste algérienne a mis en circulation une série de 2 timbres consacrée aux jeux olympiques d'été de Tokyo 2020 (32ème olympiade), organisés du 23 juillet au 8 août 2021 à cause de la pandémie mondiale de Covid-19.

Le comité olympique et sportif algérien a été créé le 18 octobre 1963, un an après l'indépendance du pays, et reconnu officiellement par le CIO en 1964.
L'Algérie a participé à tous les jeux olympiques d'été depuis 1964 (à l'exception de ceux de 1976) ainsi qu'à 3 éditions des jeux d'hiver (1992, 2006 et 2010).
Les athlètes algériens ont remporté un total de 17 médailles olympiques (dont 5 en or) uniquement dans 3 sports (athlétisme, boxe et judo). 
On July 18, 2021 (general sale), the Algerian Post put into circulation a series of 2 stamps dedicated to the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympics (32nd Olympiad), organized from July 23 to August 8, 2021 due to the global Covid-19 pandemic.

The Algerian Olympic and Sports Committee was created on October 18, 1963, one year after the country's independence, and officially recognized by the IOC in 1964.
Algeria has participated in all the summer Olympics since 1964 (except those of 1976) as well as 3 editions of the winter games (1992, 2006 and 2010).
Algerian athletes won a total of 17 Olympic medals (including 5 gold) in only 3 sports (athletics, boxing and judo).

 

L'emblème du comité olympique et sportif algérien figure en haut à droite sur ces 2 timbres (25 et 50 dinars), incluant des éléments rappelant le Japon, comme le disque rouge du drapeau, un temple ou le mont Fuji.
Deux des 14 disciplines sportives dans lesquelles les athlètes algériens (28 hommes, 13 femmes) étaient engagés à Tokyo, illustrent ces 2 timbres : le karaté (Lamya Matoub dans la catégorie +61kg femmes) et le canoë-kayak (Amira Kheris en course en ligne - K1 femmes).
Je trouve que le timbre à 25 dinars illustre plutôt une épreuve de kayak de mer plutôt que les épreuves de kayak (slalom ou course en ligne) au programme des jeux olympiques...
A Tokyo, l'Algérie n'a remporté aucune médaille, contrairement à ses voisins du Maroc ou de Tunisie, son pire résultat depuis les jeux d'Athènes en 2004.

I find that the 25 dinar stamp rather illustrates a sea kayaking event rather than the kayaking events (slalom or sprint) on the program of the Olympic Games ...
In Tokyo, Algeria did not win any medals, contrary to its neighbors of Morocco or Tunisia, its worst result since the Athens games in 2004.
