"Astronomical observatory of the University of Lviv - 250 years" stamp on FDC from Ukraine

Timbre "250 ans de l'observatoire de l'université de Lviv" sur FDC d'Ukraine

Le 14 septembre 2021, la poste ukrainienne a mis en circulation un timbre (tarif "V" pour un envoi domestique non prioritaire jusqu'à 50g, 9 UAH) consacré au 250ème anniversaire de l'observatoire astronomique de l'université nationale Ivan-Franko de Lviv.
Ce timbre (conception : I. Medvedovska, tirage : 130000), imprimé en feuillet composé de 9 timbres, figure sur le joli FDC officiel (tirage : 2500) ci-dessous, avec TAD de Lviv. Merci beaucoup Roman !
Cet observatoire astronomique de l'Université de Lviv a été fondé en 1771 par le collège jésuite de Lviv, ce qui en fait le 17ème plus ancien observatoire d'Europe.
Il a été fermé vers 1783 et restauré dans le cadre de l'Université de Lviv en 1900 en tant qu'Institut d'astronomie et à nouveau en tant qu'Observatoire en 1912. 
Les opérations scientifiques ont été interrompues par la Seconde Guerre mondiale, puis l'observatoire astronomique est devenu une partie de l'Université de Lviv en 1945. 
On September 14, 2021, the Ukrainian Post issued a stamp (tariff "V" for non-priority domestic letter up to 50g, 9 UAH) dedicated to the 250th anniversary of the astronomical observatory of the Ivan-Franko National University of Lviv.
This stamp (design: I. Medvedovska, print run: 130,000), printed in sheetlet consisting of 9 stamps, is present on the nice official FDC (print run: 2,500) below, with postmark from Lviv. Thank you very much Roman!
This astronomical observatory of the University of Lviv was founded in 1771 by the Jesuit College in Lviv, making it the 17th oldest observatory in Europe.
It was closed around 1783 and restored as part of the University of Lviv in 1900 as an Institute of Astronomy and again as an Observatory in 1912.
Scientific operations were interrupted by World War II, and then the astronomical observatory became part of the University of Lviv in 1945.

 

Cet observatoire permet aujourd'hui des travaux de recherche concernant des études observationnelles et théoriques en cosmologie, astrophysique relativiste et astrophysique stellaire.
L'université de Lviv est la plus ancienne institution d'enseignement supérieur de l'Ukraine actuelle, fondée en 1661 lorsque Jean II Casimir, roi de Pologne, lui a accordé sa première charte royale. En 1940, l'université a pris le nom d'Ivan Franko (1856-1916), considéré (avec Taras Chevtchenko) comme l'un des auteurs les plus influents de la littérature et de la pensée politique ukrainienne au cours des 19ème et 20ème siècle.
Roman a complété son affranchissement avec 3 timbres identiques faisant partie de la série courante émise depuis 2017 par la poste ukrainienne, consacrée à des blasons de villes et villages du pays, Chatsk ici ("X", 20 UAH, émis le 31 décembre 2018), situé dans le nord-ouest du pays, non loin de la Pologne et du Belarus.
This observatory now allows research work on observational and theoretical studies in cosmology, relativistic astrophysics and stellar astrophysics.
Lviv University is the oldest higher education institution in present-day Ukraine, founded in 1661 when John II Casimir, King of Poland, granted it his first royal charter. In 1940, the university was named after Ivan Franko (1856-1916), considered (along with Taras Shevchenko) as one of the most influential authors of Ukrainian literature and political thought during the 19th and 20th centuries.
Roman completed his postage with 3 identical stamps, part of the definitive series issued since 2017 by Ukrainian Post, dedicated to coats of arms of country's towns and villages, Shatsk here ("X", 20 UAH, issued on December 31, 2018), located in the north-west of the country, not far from Poland and Belarus.
