Le 1er novembre 2021, la peintre Valentina Rusu Ciobanu (née en 1920), l'une des artistes plasticiennes les plus célèbres et les plus aimées de la République de Moldavie, témoin du 20ème siècle troublé et de l'histoire de cette terre, et une créatrice qui a eu la force de suivre son chemin et sa vision, est décédée. 
Avec son époux, l'artiste plastique Glebus Sainciuc (1919-2012), Valentina Rusu-Ciobanu a en effet été une des grandes figures de la culture dans le pays, en maîtrisant habilement les couleurs et les formes.
Valentina Rusu Ciobanu appartient à la génération d'artistes plastiques de Bessarabie formés dans l'ambiance culturelle de la Roumanie d'entre-deux-guerres, mais qui ont créé au cours de la seconde moitié du 20ème siècle, dans le contexte extrêmement contradictoire des réalités socio-politiques dictées par le régime communiste totalitaire. 
On November 1, 2021, painter Valentina Rusu Ciobanu (b. 1920), one of the most famous and beloved visual artists of the Republic of Moldova, witness to the troubled 20th century and the history of this land, and a creator who had the strength to follow her path and her vision, has died.
With her husband, plastic artist Glebus Sainciuc (1919-2012), Valentina Rusu-Ciobanu was indeed one of the great figures of culture in the country, skillfully mastering colors and shapes.
Valentina Rusu Ciobanu belongs to the generation of Bessarabian plastic artists trained in the cultural atmosphere of interwar Romania, but who created during the second half of the 20th century, in the extremely contradictory context of socio-political realities dictated by the totalitarian communist regime.

 

Ayant créé une nouvelle poétique de l'image, l'artiste a adopté la sincérité de l'art naïf dont les caricatures, le grotesque, l'humour étaient une sorte de répliques aux clichés et aux principes promus par le régime communiste.
La pureté des couleurs, la valeur énergétique, la luminosité sont des outils que Valentina Rusu Ciobanu a su transposer dans un langage moderne. Quand on admire ses toiles, on a l'impression qu'elles ont été peintes aujourd'hui, même si elles datent de plus de 5 décennies, ce qui est dû au talent de l'artiste d'anticiper les mouvements artistiques contemporains.
A peine 2 mois après son décès, la poste moldave a mis en circulation, le 29 décembre 2021, un timbre "In Memoriam" rendant hommage à Valentina Rusu Ciobanu, présent en 2 exemplaires sur le FDC officiel ci-dessus (tirage : 250), avec TAD de Chișinău (MD-2012). Merci beaucoup Nicolae !
Conçu par son fils, Lică Sainciuc (né en 1947), ce timbre (1,75 L, tirage : 30000) reproduit une "autoportrait aux verres" (1974, collection privée), une autre peinture, "Clepsydre du ciel, portrait de Nana Plămădeală" (1984) étant reproduite sur l'enveloppe. 
Having created a new poetics of the image, the artist adopted the sincerity of naive art whose caricatures, the grotesque, the humor were a kind of replies to the clichés and principles promoted by the communist regime. 
The purity of the colors, the energy value, the luminosity are tools that Valentina Rusu Ciobanu has been able to transpose into a modern language. When we admire her canvases, we have the impression that they were painted today, even if they date back more than 5 decades, which is due to the talent of the artist to anticipate contemporary artistic movements.
Barely 2 months after her death, the Post of Moldova put into circulation, on December 29, 2021, an "In Memoriam" stamp paying tribute to Valentina Rusu Ciobanu, present in two copies on the official FDC above (print run: 250), with postmarks from Chișinău (MD-2012). Thank you very much Nicolae!
Designed by his son, Lică Sainciuc (born in 1947), this stamp (1.75 L, print run: 30,000) reproduces a "self-portrait with glasses" (1974, private collection), another painting, "The Clepsydra of the Sky, portrait of Nana Plămădeală" (1984) being reproduced on the envelope.
