"Winter Olympics - Beijing 2022" stamp set on FDC from Moldova

Série "Jeux olympiques d'hiver - Beijing 2022" sur FDC de Moldavie

La République de Moldavie participe en tant qu'état indépendant aux jeux olympiques d'hiver depuis 1994 (Lillehammer) et la poste moldave avait émis des séries de timbres consacrés à ces jeux d'hiver en 1994, 1998, 2002, 2006, 2010 et 2014.
Curieusement, aucun timbre n'avait été émis en 2018 pour les jeux olympiques d'hiver de Pyeongchang mais uniquement un TAD.
Le 19 février 2022, un jour avant la fin de la compétition, la poste moldave a mis en circulation une jolie série (2 timbres) consacrée aux 24èmes jeux olympiques d'hiver ("Jocurile Olimpice de Iarnă"), organisés du 4 au 20 février 2022 à Beijing en Chine.
C'est la 2ème fois que la Chine organisait les jeux olympiques après les jeux d'été de 2008 déjà célébrés à Beijing, qui devient ainsi la première ville de l'histoire à avoir accueilli à la fois les jeux olympiques d'été et d'hiver.
The Republic of Moldova has participated as an independent state in the Winter Olympics since 1994 (Lillehammer) and the Post of Moldova had issued sets of stamps dedicated to these Winter Games in 1994, 1998, 2002, 2006, 2010 and 2014.
Curiously, no stamp was issued in 2018 for the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics but only a postmark.
On February 19, 2022, one day before the end of the competition, the Post of Moldova put into circulation a nice series (2 stamps) dedicated to the 24th Winter Olympic Games ("Jocurile Olimpice de Iarnă"), organized from 4 to 20 February 2022 in Beijing, China.
This is the 2nd time that China has organized the Olympic Games after the 2008 Summer Games already celebrated in Beijing, which thus becomes the first city in history to have hosted both the Summer and Winter Olympic Games.

 

Ces 2 timbres (5,75 L - tirage : 26720 et 15,50 L - tirage : 20040), conçus par Eugeniu Verebceanu et imprimés chacun en feuillet de 8 timbres, figurent sur le FDC officiel ci-dessus (tirage : 200), avec TAD de Chișinău (MD-2012). Merci beaucoup Nicolae !
Ces 2 timbres illustrent les 2 disciplines dans lesquelles les 5 athlètes moldaves (2 hommes, 3 femmes) étaient engagés lors de ces jeux de Beijing : la luge et le biathlon.
L'emblème du comité olympique moldave (anneaux olympiques surmontés de la couronne d'Étienne le Grand, héros national) est également présent sur chacun de ces 2 timbres.
En 8 participations aux jeux olympiques d'hiver, la Moldavie n'a jamais remporté la moindre médaille.
