"Aircraft on a humanitarian mission - Lockheed C-130 Hercules" stamp on FDC from Belgium

Timbre "Avions en mission humanitaire - Lockheed C-130 Hercules" sur FDC de Belgique

Le 29 août 2022 (vente Premier Jour à Bruxelles), la poste belge bpost a mis en circulation un intéressant bloc-feuillet (5 timbres différents, tirage : 43704 blocs-feuillets) illustrant différents aéronefs (avions, hélicoptères) utilisés par l'armée de l'air belge lors de missions humanitaires.
Un de ces 5 timbres au tarif permanent domestique "2" (envoi non normalisé  NON PRIOR entre 0 et 100g, 2,32€ actuellement) figure sur cette lettre avec TAD de Wavre (province du Brabant wallon) où avait lieu la prévente de cette série le 27 août 2022. Merci beaucoup Johan !
Ce TAD représente un avion Percival Pembroke C-51, un bimoteur de transport construit par la société anglaise Hunting Percival entre 1954 et 1988, utilisé pour le transport de malades et blessés graves. 
On August 29, 2022 (First Day of issue in Brussels), the Belgian Post bpost put into circulation an interesting souvenir sheet (5 different stamps, print run: 43,704 souvenir sheets) illustrating different aircraft (planes, helicopters) used by the Belgian air force during humanitarian missions.
One of these 5 stamps at the permanent domestic rate "2" (not standardized NON PRIOR shipment between 0 and 100g, € 2.32 currently) was used on this cover with postmarks from Wavre (province of Walloon Brabant) where the preview sale of this series took place on August 27, 2022. This cancellation represents a Percival Pembroke C-51 aircraft, a twin-engine transport aircraft built by the English company Hunting Percival between 1954 and 1988, used to transport the seriously ill and injured.

 

Un des 5 timbres de ce bloc-feuillet, conçu par Kris Maes et gravé par Guillaume Broux, représente cet avion, le fond du bloc-feuillet représentant le littoral belge ainsi qu'un Airbus A400M, le successeur du C-130, et des véhicules exploités par la Croix-Rouge belge.
Le timbre ci-dessus est consacré probablement à l'un de ces avions utilisés lors de missions humanitaires les plus connus en Belgique, un Lockheed C-130 Hercules, avion de transport militaire conçu par les États-Unis au début des années 1950.
Cet avion a rencontré un succès remarquable avec plus de 2200 exemplaires construits pour une cinquantaine de pays utilisateurs, dont la Belgique avec 12 avions commandés en 1972 et progressivement remplacés par des A400M.
Le C-130 est souvent dépêché en cas de catastrophes (séismes...), depuis la base aérienne de Melsbroeck, pour amener sur place une aide d'urgence, en hommes et matériel.

The stamp above is probably dedicated to one of the most famous planes used during humanitarian missions in Belgium, a Lockheed C-130 Hercules, a military transport plane designed by the United States in the early 1950s.

This aircraft has met with remarkable success with more than 2,200 aircraft built for around fifty user countries, including Belgium with 12 aircraft ordered in 1972 and gradually replaced by A400M planes.

The C-130 is often dispatched in the event of disasters (earthquakes, etc.), from the air base of Melsbroeck, to bring emergency aid to the spot, in men and equipment.
