RCC 2022 joint souvenir sheet (Parks and Gardens) on cover from Azerbaijan

Bloc-feuillet commun RCC 2022 (Parcs et jardins) sur lettre d'Azerbaïdjan

Pour rappel, certains des 11 pays membres (Azerbaïdjan, Arménie, Belarus, Géorgie, Kazakhstan, Kirghizstan, Moldavie, Russie, Tadjikistan, Turkménistan, Ouzbékistan) de la Communauté Régionale dans le domaine des Communications (acronyme "RCC" en anglais ou "PCC" en russe) émettent chaque année depuis 2012 des timbres ayant des thèmes communs.
Après les artistes en 2020 et le 30ème anniversaire de la RCC en 2021, les émissions RCC 2022 avaient pour thème les parcs et jardins.
Le 19 août 2022, la poste d'Azerbaïdjan a mis en circulation un joli bloc-feuillet dans le cadre de ces émissions RCC, consacré au Jardin philharmonique de Bakou.
Ce bloc-feuillet (1,5 manat, tirage : 5000), conçu par Sayali Mammadova, a été utilisé sur cette lettre envoyée le 3 janvier 2023 depuis Bakou, la capitale du pays. Merci beaucoup Mahir !
As a reminder, some of the 11 member countries (Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan) of the Regional Commonwealth in the field of Communications (acronym "RCC" in English or "PCC" in Russian) are issuing each year since 2012 some stamps with common themes.
After the artists in 2020 and the 30th anniversary of the RCC in 2021, the RCC 2022 stamp issues focused on parks and gardens.
On August 19, 2022, the Post of Azerbaijan put into circulation a nice souvenir sheet within the framework of these RCC issues, dedicated to the Philharmonic Garden of Baku.
This souvenir sheet (1.5 manat, print run: 5,000), designed by Sayali Mammadova, was used on this letter sent on January 3, 2023 from Baku, the country's capital. Thank you very much Mahir!  

 

Ce timbre représente la fontaine au centre de ce Jardin philharmonique ("Filarmoniya Bağı"), également appelé parc du gouverneur, et de riches variétés de plantes, avec une partie de la forteresse de Bakou dans la fond à gauche.
La création de ce Jardin philharmonique a une histoire intéressante, car au début du 19ème siècle, le commandant de Bakou a imposé à tous les armateurs venant d'Iran la condition d'apporter un sac de terre noire chacun. Ce parc a ainsi été créé à partir de cette terre noire à partir de 1830.
Au début du 20ème siècle, il était prévu de créer une salle de concert dans le parc, mais l'abattage nécessaire des arbres a suscité des objections. Un pavillon d'été a été construit et le parc a été rénové dans les années 1970, puis à nouveau à partir de 2007 sur ordre du président Ilham Aliyev.
Une fontaine à l'ancienne (représentée sur le timbre) conçue par la société française "Inter Art" a été ajoutée à cette occasion.

This stamp depicts the fountain in the center of this Philharmonic Garden ("Filarmoniya Bağı"), also called Governor's Park, and rich varieties of plants, with part of the Baku Fortress in the background on the left.

The creation of this Philharmonic Garden has an interesting history, because at the beginning of the 19th century, the commander of Baku imposed on all shipowners coming from Iran the condition of bringing a bag of black earth each. This park was thus created from this black earth from 1830.

At the beginning of the 20th century, there were plans to create a concert hall in the park, but the necessary felling of trees caused objections. A summer pavilion was built and the park was renovated in the 1970s, then again from 2007 by order of President Ilham Aliyev.

An old-fashioned fountain (pictured on the stamp) designed by the French company "Inter Art" has been added on this occasion.
