"Libourne Philatelic Union/Andorra Section - 50th anniversary" stamp set on FDC from Andorra

Timbres "50 ans de la Section Andorre de l'Union philatélique libournaise" sur FDC d'Andorre

Passionné par la richesse patrimoniale de la Principauté d'Andorre, Jean Savina, alors président de l'Union philatélique libournaise (UPL), décide de créer en 1975 cette "Section Andorre" au sein de cette association philatélique.
Son succès dépasse toutes les attentes. Avec 165 adhérents, elle devient plus importante que sa société mère, l'UPL. Le président propose alors qu'elle devienne indépendante, sous le nom de Philandorre, à partir du 1er janvier 1977 (un timbre d'Andorre avait été émis en 2017 pour son 40ème anniversaire).
Le 27 mars 2025 (vente générale le 31 mars 2025), la post française en Andorre a mis en circulation une série (2 timbres se-tenant) consacrée au 50ème anniversaire de la création de cette "Section Andorre" au sein de l'Union philatélique libournaise. 
Passionate about the rich heritage of the Principality of Andorra, Jean Savina, then president of the Libourne Philatelic Union (UPL), decided to create this "Andorra Section" within this philatelic association in 1975.
Its success exceeded all expectations. With 165 members, it became larger than its parent association, the UPL. The president then proposed that it become independent, under the name of Philandorre, as of January 1, 1977 (an Andorran stamp had been issued in 2017 for its 40th anniversary).
On March 27, 2025 (general sale on March 31, 2025), the French Post in Andorra released a series (two se-tenant stamps) dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the creation of this "Andorra Section" within the Libourne Philatelic Union. 

Ces 2 timbres (1,39€ et 1€, conception : Enric Cardus, tirage : 50004), imprimés en feuillet de 12 timbres (6 paires), ont été utilisés sur l'enveloppe ci-dessus (avec logo de Philandorre en haut à gauche), avec TAD Premier Jour. Merci beaucoup Olivier !
Au fil des années, cette association a été un point de rencontre pour ceux qui apprécient l'histoire, l'art et les liens que représentent les timbres, contribuant au patrimoine culturel d'Andorre et de toute la région. 
Le timbre à gauche reproduit la couverture des premières publications (à partir de mai 1975) de cette "Section Andorre" de l'UPL, avec en particulier des articles de Jean Savina, Guy Oliver, Gilbert Goudard.
Des vues actuelles des monuments figurant sur cette couverture sont représentés sur l'autre timbre : la tour du Grand Port en haut, un des derniers vestiges des fortifications qui protégeaient Libourne depuis le Moyen Âge, et l'église Sant Joan de Caselles en bas, un des plus beaux exemples de l'exceptionnel patrimoine roman en Andorre (11ème et 12ème siècle).

Over the years, this association has been a meeting point for those who appreciate the history, art, and connections represented by stamps, contributing to the cultural heritage of Andorra and the entire region.
The stamp on the left reproduces the cover of the first publications (from May 1975) of this "Andorra Section" of the UPL, including articles by Jean Savina, Guy Oliver, and Gilbert Goudard.
Current views of the monuments featured on this cover are shown on the other stamp: the Grand Port tower at the top, one of the last vestiges of the fortifications that protected Libourne since the Middle Ages, and the church of Sant Joan de Caselles at the bottom, one of the finest examples of the exceptional Romanesque heritage in Andorra (11th and 12th centuries).
