EUROPA 2025 (National Archaeological Discoveries) stamp set on FDC from Finland

Série EUROPA 2025 (Découvertes archéologiques nationales) sur FDC de Finlande

Le thème choisi par l'association PostEurop pour les timbres EUROPA 2025 est intitulé "Découvertes archéologiques nationales" ("Kansalliset arkeologiset löydöt").
Le 7 mai 2025, la poste finlandaise Posti a mis en circulation une très jolie série (2 timbres) illustrant ce thème, en particulier des objets en métal datant de l'âge de fer et du Moyen Âge.
Ces 2 timbres autocollants (tarif domestique jusqu'à 50g - 2,50€ actuellement), conçus par Anssi Kähärä, en collaboration avec l'agence finlandaise du patrimoine, ont été imprimés dans un même carnet composé de 10 timbres (5 de chaque).

Le timbre à gauche représente un anneau en métal et or, incluant une prière "Ave Maria", datant du Moyen-Âge (entre 1150 et 1500), découvert à Pyhtää, petite municipalité du sud-est de la Finlande. 
The theme chosen by the PostEurop association for the 2025 EUROPA stamps is "National Archaeological Discoveries" ("Kansalliset arkeologiset löydöt").
On May 7, 2025, the Finnish Post (Posti) released a very attractive set (2 stamps) illustrating this theme, particularly metal objects dating from the Iron Age and the Middle Ages.
These two self-adhesive stamps (domestic rate up to 50g - currently €2.50), designed by Anssi Kähärä, in collaboration with the Finnish Heritage Agency, have been printed in the same booklet containing 10 stamps (5 of each).

The stamp on the left depicts a metal and gold ring, including an "Ave Maria" prayer, dating from the Middle Ages (between 1150 and 1500), discovered in Pyhtää, a small municipality in southeastern Finland.

L'autre timbre représente un pendentif en bronze représentant un oiseau datant de la période de l'âge du Fer (entre 800 et 1050), découvert lors de fouilles archéologiques à Orijärvi, Kihlinpelto, sur la commune rurale de Mikkeli.
En archéologie finlandaise, l'âge du Fer s'étend d'environ 500 avant J.-C. à 1200/1300 après J.-C. et est divisé en plusieurs sous-périodes. 
Sur ce site de Mikkeli, lors de fouilles en 1999, 114 pièces d'argent de l'époque viking ont été découvertes. On a également découvert un morceau d'argenterie, un grand fragment de broche ovale en forme de tortue, une épingle de berger en fer, quelques tessons de céramique et ce pendentif plat en bronze en forme d'oiseau.
Ce pendentif en forme d'oiseau n'a pas de parallèle exact parmi les découvertes archéologiques en Finlande. Il ressemble à des pendentifs découverts en Finlande occidentale, mais le pendentif d'Orijärvi, Kihlinpelto est nettement plus petit et, surtout, le cou de l'oiseau est plus court.
The other stamp depicts a bronze bird-shaped pendant dating from the Iron Age period (between 800 and 1050), discovered during archaeological excavations at Orijärvi, Kihlinpelto, in the rural municipality of Mikkeli.
In Finnish archaeology, the Iron Age extends from approximately 500 BC to 1200/1300 AD and is divided into several sub-periods.
At this site in Mikkeli, during excavations in 1999, 114 Viking Age silver coins were discovered. Also discovered were a piece of silverware, a large fragment of an oval turtle brooch, an iron shepherd's pin, some ceramic shards, and this flat bronze bird pendant.
This bird pendant has no exact parallel among archaeological finds in Finland. It resembles pendants discovered in Western Finland, but the pendant from Orijärvi, Kihlinpelto is significantly smaller and, importantly, the bird's neck is shorter.
