Comme les années précédentes, la poste hongroise (Magyar Posta) a émis deux timbres (235 Ft chacun) dans le cadre des séries EUROPA, réunis dans un bloc-feuillet composé de 2 paires.
Pour rappel, le thème choisi par PostEurop pour les timbres EUROPA émis en 2012 est "Visitez..." d'où la mention "Visitez la Hongrie" en hongrois ("Látogasson Magyarországra") et en anglais ("Visit Hungary") dans les marges supérieures et inférieures de ce bloc.
J'ai eu la chance de recevoir la jolie lettre ci-dessous, postée de la ville d'Esztergom le 22 mai 2012, affranchie avec ce bloc-feuillet. Merci beaucoup Bertalan :-)
La conceptrice de ce bloc (tirage : 100000) émis le 9 mai 2012, Ágnes Rozmann, a décliné le domaine internet réservé à la Hongrie, ".hu", en évoquant les productions agricoles ainsi que le patrimoine religieux et culturel du pays.
La Hongrie est une destination touristique importante en Europe grâce à son patrimoine historique, ses paysages, son activité balnéaire, sa gastronomie, son folklore, sa vie nocturne...
Like previous years, the Hungarian Post (Magyar Posta) has issued two stamps (235 Ft each) within the EUROPA series, gathered in a souvenir sheet consisting of two pairs.
As a reminder, the theme chosen by PostEurop for the EUROPA stamps issued in 2012 is "Visit..." hence the mention "Visit Hungary" in Hungarian ("Látogasson Magyarországra") and English in the top and bottom margins of this sheet.

Un de ces 2 timbres est ainsi consacré à deux importantes productions agricoles en Hongrie : la raisin et le piment. La Hongrie est en effet un pays producteur de vins (dont l'excellent Tokay) et de paprika, cette épice obtenue à partir des poivrons ou piments rouges (en particulier dans la région de Szeged), utilisé dans la préparation du goulash ou du pörkölt.
L'autre timbre évoque la bibliothèque (plus de 350000 ouvrages) de l'abbaye bénédictine de Pannonhalma, un complexe religieux millénaire situé dans le nord-ouest du pays.
Cette abbaye, ainsi que son environnement naturel, est classée au patrimoine mondial de l'UNESCO depuis 1996, l'année qui marqua les 1000 ans de sa création par des moines bénédictins venus évangéliser le pays et y fonder la 1ère école magyare. L'abbaye est aujourd'hui composée de plusieurs édifices monastiques alliant différents styles architecturaux, le plus ancien datant de 1224.
La marge du bloc à gauche montre une partie de cette abbaye alors que la partie droite évoque le lac Balaton, le plus grand lac d'eau douce d'Europe centrale, la 2ème destination touristique en Hongrie après Budapest.
One of these two stamps is so devoted to two important agricultural productions in Hungary : grapes and peppers. Hungary is indeed a country producing wines (including the excellent Tokaji) and paprika, this spice obtained from red peppers (particularly in the area of Szeged), used in the preparation of goulash or pörkölt.
The other stamp features the library (over 350,000 books) of the Benedictine Abbey of Pannonhalma, a millenary religious complex located in north-west of Hungary. This abbey, as well as its natural environment, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1996, the year that marked the 1,000 years of its foundation by Benedictine monks who went to convert Hungarians and founded here the first Magyar school.
The abbey is now composed of several monastic buildings combining different architectural styles, the oldest one dating from 1224.
The margin of that miniature sheet to the left shows a part of this Abbey, while the right side refers to the Lake Balaton, the largest freshwater lake in Central Europe, the second tourist destination in Hungary after Budapest.
