Le 18 juillet 2014, la SingPost a émis une très jolie série de 4 timbres consacrée à la petite île de Pulau Ubin située dans le nord-est du pays, dans le détroit de Johor, entre Pulau Ujong (l'île principale) et la Malaisie.
Cette île (10 km²), ayant la forme d'un boomerang, est la dernière zone non urbanisée de Singapour, avec une faune et flore riches.

A noter le TAD Premier Jour (embarcadère) mais aussi le cachet spécial inhabituel du bureau philatélique du SPC (Singapore Post Centre) situé à Paya Lebar (siège de la poste de Singapour).
Ce même embarcadère est représenté sur le 1er timbre à gauche, qui permet de relier par bateau Pulau Ubin à l'île principale de Singapour en 10 minutes.
On July 18, 2014, the SingPost has issued a very nice set of four stamps dedicated to the small island of Pulau Ubin located in the northeast of the country, in the Straits of Johor Strait between Pulau Ujong (the main island) and Malaysia.
This boomerang shaped island (10 km²) is the last rural area of Singapore with a rich flora and fauna.

To note the FDC cancellation (main jetty) but also the unusual special postmark from the philatelic counter at the SPC (Singapore Post Centre) located at Paya Lebar (headquarters of the Singapore Post).
This same jetty is shown on the first stamp on the left, connecting Pulau Ubin by boat to the main island of Singapore in 10 minutes.

Le timbre à 65c est consacré à la zone humide de Chek Jawa, située sur la côte sud-est de Pulau Ubin.
La plupart des visiteurs et touristes viennent sur cette île pour découvrir cet écosystème unique à Singapour, constitué de plusieurs types d'habitats (mangroves, forêts côtières, lagons...).
Le théâtre d'ombres et de marionnettes Wajang figure sur le timbre suivant (80c) situé dans le temple de Tua Pek Kong. Les représentations n'ont lieu qu'à 3 occasions chaque année : l'anniversaire de Tua Pek Kong, le festival du fantôme affamé et l'anniversaire de Bouddha (Vesak Day).
Le dernier timbre (1,10$) montre un lac qui s'est formé dans une ancienne carrière de granit.
Cette île de Pulau Ubin étant appelée "ïle de granit" car elle fut un des principaux fournisseurs de granit à partir des années 1840 et attira alors de très nombreux travailleurs. Cette exploitation minière a cessé dans les années 1960.
The 65c stamp is devoted to the wetland zone of Chek Jawa, located on the southeast coast of Pulau Ubin. Most of visitors and tourists come to this island to explore this unique ecosystem in Singapore, consisting of several types of habitats (mangroves, coastal forests, lagoons...).
Wayang puppet theater appears on the next stamp (80c), a stage located in the Tua Pek Gong temple. Performances take place here only on three occasions each year : the birthday of Tua Pek Gong, the Hungry Ghost Festival and the anniversary of Buddha (Vesak Day).
The last stamp ($ 1.10) shows a scenic lake that was formed in an old granite quarry.
The island of Pulau Ubin being called "Granite Island" because it was one of the leading suppliers of granite from the 1840s and then attracted many workers. This mining ceased in the 1960s.
