L'association philatélique Philapostel a organisé cette année une opération postale intitulée "Envoyez vos voeux d'un petit coin de France aux Amériques".
Une enveloppe, une carte ainsi qu'un TAD spécial du 1er janvier 2015 (tous conçus par Patrick Bleau) ont ainsi été proposés aux collectionneurs pour envoyer leurs meilleurs voeux de façon plutôt originale depuis l'archipel de Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon !
J'ai eu la grande chance de recevoir les 4 plis ci-dessous revêtus de ce TAD spécial du 1er janvier 2015, disponible à Miquelon et Saint-Pierre. Un grand merci à Jean-Claude, Joël et Roland :-)
The Philatelic Association "Philapostel" organized this year a postal operation entitled "Send your wishes from a little piece of France in the Americas".
An envelope, a card and a special postmark of January 1, 2015 (all designed by Patrick Bleau) were thus offered to collectors in order to send their best wishes in a rather original way, from the archipelago of Saint Pierre and Miquelon !
I was very lucky to receive the four covers below with this special cancellation of January 1, 2015, available at Saint-Pierre and Miquelon. A big thank you to Jean-Claude, Joël and Roland :-)
La mention "Meilleurs Voeux" ainsi qu'une carte de l'archipel de Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon et un harfang des neiges en vol, figurent sur ce TAD spécial.
Les 2 plis ci-dessus et ci-dessous ont été envoyés de Miquelon (ou Miquelon-Langlade), une des 2 communes (avec Saint-Pierre) de Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon, collectivité française d'outremer située à 25 km au sud de l'île canadienne de Terre-Neuve.
Sur l'illustration à gauche sur l'enveloppe, on retrouve cet harfang des neiges (Bubo scandiacus), oiseau symbole du Québec voisin, qui fait régulièrement des haltes à Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon lorsqu'il migre l'hiver vers le sud, depuis les régions du cercle polaire arctique.
The words "Meilleurs Voeux" ("Best Wishes") as well as a map of the archipelago of Saint Pierre and Miquelon and a Snowy owl in flight, are included on this special postmark.
The two covers above and below have been sent from Miquelon (or Miquelon-Langlade), one of the two towns (with Saint-Pierre) of Saint Pierre and Miquelon, a French overseas collectivity located 25 km south of the Canadian island of Newfoundland.
On the illustration to the left on this envelope, we also find this Snowy owl (Bubo scandiacus), a bird symbol of neighbor Québec, regularly stopping in Saint Pierre and Miquelon in winter when it migrates southwards from the regions of the Arctic Circle.
Le même affranchissement a été choisi sur ces 4 lettres, composé du timbre de Noël (0,66€) émis le 19 novembre 2014 et d'un timbre courant "Marianne et la jeunesse" (0,10€) surchargé "SPM" émis le 2 octobre 2013.
A noter que cet affranchissement (0,76€) correspond au nouveau tarif en vigueur au 1er janvier 2015 pour un envoi jusqu'à 20g vers la France métropolitaine, Andorre ou Monaco.
Ce timbre de Noël (tirage : 80000) reproduit un dessin d'une élève de CM2 de l'archipel, Apolline de Arburn (11 ans), lauréate d'un concours organisé dans les écoles locales. On peut y voir également un Harfang des neiges portant le même bonnet que le Père Noël...
The same postage was chosen on these four letters, composed of the Christmas stamp (€ 0.66) issued on November 19, 2014 and a "Marianne and youth" definitive stamp (€ 0.10), with a "SPM" surcharge, issued on October 2, 2013.
To note that this postage (€ 0.76) corresponds to the new postal rate applicable from January 1, 2015 for a letter up to 20g sent to metropolitan France, Andorra or Monaco.
This Christmas stamp (print run : 80,000) reproduces a drawing of a schoolgirl of the archipelago, Apolline de Arburn (11 years old), winner of a competition organized in local primary schools. One can also see a Snowy Owl with the Santa Claus cap...

The cancellation from Saint-Pierre (5,500 inhabitants), capital of the archipelago, located on the island of Saint-Pierre, was applied to the other 2 covers above and below.
