Le 6 octobre 2016, la Deutsche Post a mis en circulation une intéressante enveloppe pré-timbrée consacrée au 60ème anniversaire de la signature des Accords sur la Sarre entre l'Allemagne et la France.
Cette enveloppe (prix de vente : 0,90€), conçue par Stefan Klein et Olaf Neumann, est pré-affranchie avec le timbre (0,55€) émis le 2 janvier 2007, consacré au 50ème anniversaire du Land de Sarre, rattaché à l'Allemagne le 1er janvier 1957, à la suite de ces Accords sur la Sarre.
Ce timbre (conception : Fritz Lüdtke) comporte les armoiries de la Sarre ainsi que des sites emblématiques de ce Land : usine métallurgique à Dilligen, méandre de la rivière Sarre près de Mettlach, Ludwigsplatz à Sarrebruck (Saarbrücken) avec en particulier la Ludwigskirche (église du Prince Louis de Nassau), une église protestante de style baroque, un des symboles de cette ville.

On October 6, 2016, the Deutsche Post put into circulation an interesting prepaid envelope dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the signing of the Saar Treaty between Germany and France.
This envelope (sale price: € 0.90), designed by Stefan Klein and Olaf Neumann, is pre-stamped with the stamp (€ 0.55) issued on January 2, 2007, dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the state of Saarland, reinstated to Germany on January 1, 1957, following this Saar Treaty.
This stamp (design: Fritz Lüdtke) includes the coat of arms of Saarland as well as emblematic sites of the state: metallurgical factory in Dilligen, meander of the river Saar near Mettlach, Ludwigsplatz in Saarbrücken with in particular the Ludwigskirche, a Baroque Protestant church, one of the symbols of this city.

Deux autres timbres pré-imprimés figurent sur cette enveloppe, faisant partie de la série courante "fleurs" en cours (débutée en 2005), "Crocus" (0,05€) émis le 11 août 2005 et "Tulipe" (0,10€) émis le 8 septembre 2005.
Pour atteindre le tarif en vigueur pour un envoi en Europe (0,90€), Jens a également utilisé un des timbres de cette série, des fleurs de jacinthe des bois "Hyacinthoides non-scripta" (0,20€, émis le 8 juin 2017) ici.
Après la 2ème Guerre Mondiale, la Sarre est incluse dans la zone d'occupation française, devenant même un véritable état sous protectorat français doté d'une souveraineté propre.
Dans le cadre des discussions liées à la création des premières instances européennes, la France et l'Allemagne émettent des opinions divergentes quant à l'avenir de ce territoire.
La question de la Sarre est définitivement réglée le 27 octobre 1956 à Luxembourg lorsque Christian Pineau, ministre français des Affaires étrangères, et son homologue allemand, Heinrich von Brentano, apposent leur signature au bas du traité fixant les conditions du retour du territoire sarrois à la République fédérale d'Allemagne (RFA).
J'aime beaucoup cette enveloppe, avec les contours et armoiries de ce Land de Sarre, sur fond de drapeaux français et allemand.
Two other pre-printed stamps are present on this envelope, being part of the definitive series "flowers" in progress (started in 2005), "Crocus" (€ 0.05) issued on August 11, 2005 and "Tulipe" (€ 0.10) issued on September 8, 2005.
To reach the current rate for a shipment to Europe (€ 0.90), Jens also used one of the stamps of this series, "Hyacinthoides non-scripta" blue flowers (€ 0.20, issued on June 8, 2017) here.
After World War II, Saarland was included in the French occupation zone, becoming a real state under French protectorate with a sovereignty of its own.
In the context of the discussions related to the creation of the first European institutions, France and Germany expressed divergent opinions as to the future of this territory.
The question of the Saar was definitively settled on October 27, 1956 in Luxembourg when Christian Pineau, French Minister for Foreign Affairs, and his German counterpart, Heinrich von Brentano, signed at the bottom of the treaty fixing the conditions for the return of the Saar territory to the Federal Republic of Germany.
I really love this envelope, with the contours and coat of arms of this state of Saarland, with the French and German flags in the background.
