Comme en 2015, l'équipe slovène a à nouveau remporté une médaille d'argent (défaite 3-1 en finale contre la Serbie) lors du championnat d'Europe masculin de volley-ball (31ème édition), organisé du 12 au 29 septembre 2019.
Pour la 1ère fois, cette compétition était organisée dans 4 pays différents (France, Belgique, Pays-Bas et Slovénie) et concernait 24 équipes (16 pour les éditions précédentes).
Le 8 juillet 2019, la poste slovène a mis en circulation un timbre (tarif permanent "C" pour un envoi standard international - 1,17€ actuellement) consacré à ce championnat d'Europe de volley-ball.
Ce timbre (tirage : 40000), conçu par Edi Berk, figure à droite sur la jolie lettre ci-dessous envoyée le 3 octobre 2019 depuis Ljubljana. Merci beaucoup Petra !
As in 2015, the Slovenian team again won a silver medal (3-1 defeat in the final against Serbia) at the European Men's Volleyball Championship (31st edition), held from 12 to 29 September 2019.
For the first time, this competition was organized in 4 different countries (France, Belgium, the Netherlands and Slovenia) and involved 24 teams (16 for previous editions).
On July 8, 2019, the Slovenian Post issued a stamp (Permanent "C" rate for an international standard shipment - € 1.17 currently) devoted to this European Volleyball Championship.
This stamp (print run: 40,000), designed by Edi Berk, was used on the right on the very nice cover below sent on October 3, 2019 from Ljubljana. Thank you very much Petra!
Ce timbre représente un joueur de l'équipe slovène dans une phase de smash du ballon au-dessus du filet, le logo de la fédération slovène de volley-ball (OZS - Odbojkarska Zveza Slovenije) figurant en bas à droite.
Ce timbre a été imprimé en Croatie en feuillet composé de 6 timbres + 3 vignettes centrales, avec le nom des 4 pays organisateurs dans les marges, en slovène et en anglais (Pays-Bas et France ci-dessus).
Le bloc-feuillet non oblitéré à gauche (0,95€, tirage : 30000), conçu par Matjaž Učakar à partir d'une photographie de Tomo Jeseničnik, émis le 27 septembre 2019, est consacré au parc naturel de la vallée de Logar ("Krajinski park Logarska dolina").
Longue de 9 km et large de 500 mètres au maximum, cette vallée, située dans le nord du pays (près de la frontière autrichienne) est considérée comme une des plus belles vallées d'origine glaciaire du massif des Alpes.
Occupant la partie supérieure du cours de la rivière Savinja, cette vallée est dominée par de nombreux sommets à plus de 2000 mètres (Krofička, Ojstrica, Planjava, Brana, Turska gora...).
