Le 1er mars 2021, la Deutsche Post a mis en circulation 2 nouveaux timbres, consacrés à des stations de métro à Francfort et Hambourg, intégrant un QR-code (ou code matriciel) dont l'objectif est d'éviter que les lettres ne se perdent.
En utilisant ces timbres, les clients pourront en effet savoir quand une lettre est arrivée dans le centre de traitement local et quand elle a atteint sa région de destination, rendant ce service postal universel encore plus fiable.
Pour les philatélistes et les clients intéressés, il y a un avantage supplémentaire: des informations de base détaillées sur les frais de port en particulier peuvent être consultées en utilisant l'application "Post & DHL" de la Deutsche Post via le code matriciel.
D'ici 2022, ces codes matriciels figureront sur tous les timbres allemands. 
A noter que les oblitérations sont désormais appliquées en Allemagne avec une encre bleue afin d'être bien lisibles, même lorsqu'elles sont appliquées sur le code matriciel (noir et blanc).
On March 1, 2021, the Deutsche Post put into circulation two new stamps, devoted to metro stations in Frankfurt and Hamburg, including a QR-code (or matrix code) whose objective is to prevent letters from getting lost.
By using these stamps, customers will indeed be able to track when a letter has arrived at the local mail processing center and when it has reached its destination region, making this universal postal service even more reliable.
For philatelists and interested customers there is an additional benefit: detailed basic information on shipping costs in particular can be viewed using the "Post & DHL" application of the Deutsche Post via the matrix code.
By 2022, these matrix codes will appear on all German stamps.  
To note that cancellations are now applied in Germany with a blue ink in order to be easily readable, even when they are applied to (black and white) the matrix code. 

 

Un de ces 2 timbres (2,70€, conception : Jennifer Dengler), consacré à la station Westend du métro (U-Bahn) de Francfort-sur-le-Main, a été utilisé sur la lettre ci-dessus, envoyée le 11 mars 2021 depuis cette même ville de Francfort (Land de Hesse), quartier de Eschersheim. Merci beaucoup Jens !
Le métro de Francfort (le 3ème métro du pays après Berlin et Hambourg), inauguré en 1968, est un des grands moyens de transport de la ville avec la S-Bahn Rhin-Main et le tramway. Il s'agit en fait d'un métro léger, une combinaison du métro (dans le centre) et de tram (en banlieue).
Le réseau est constitué aujourd'hui de 9 lignes dans les quartiers périphériques qui se réunissent en 3 lignes dans le centre-ville, et comporte 27 stations souterraines et 60 stations en surface.
Parmi ces stations souterraines, la station inaugurée en 1986 dans le quartier de Westend, illustrée sur ce timbre. L'architecture de cette station est caractérisée par des éléments floraux abstraits (comme la forme des piliers dans le hall, à droite et à gauche sur le timbre), en référence à sa proximité avec le Palmengarten, l'un des trois jardins botaniques de Francfort.

One of these 2 stamps (€ 2.70, design: Jennifer Dengler), dedicated to the Westend metro (U-Bahn) station in Frankfurt am Main, has been used on the above letter, sent on March 11, 2021 from this same city of Frankfurt (Land of Hesse), district of Eschersheim. Thanks a lot Jens!

Frankfurt metro (the third metro in the country after Berlin and Hamburg), inaugurated in 1968, is one of the city's major means of transport with the Rhine-Main S-Bahn and the tram. It is actually a light metro, a combination of the metro (in the center) and the tram (in the suburbs).

Today, the network consists of 9 lines in the outlying districts which meet in 3 lines in the city center, and includes 27 underground stations and 60 surface stations.

Among these underground stations, the station inaugurated in 1986 in the district of Westend, illustrated on this stamp. The architecture of this station is characterized by abstract floral elements (such as the shape of the pillars in the hall, to the right and left on the stamp), in reference to its proximity to the Palmengarten, one of the three botanical gardens of Frankfurt.
