EUROPA 2022 (Stories and Myths) stamp set on cover from Liechtenstein

Série EUROPA 2022 (Mythes et légendes) sur lettre du Liechtenstein

Le 7 mars 2022, la poste du Liechtenstein a mis en circulation sa série EUROPA (2 timbres), consacrée cette année au thème des mythes et légendes ("Geschichte und Mythen" en allemand).
Comme en 2020 et 2021, ces 2 timbres (1,80 CHF, tirage : 39000), conçus par Eliane Schädler, ont été imprimés (au Liechtenstein par Gutenberg AG) dans un même feuillet composé de 4 timbres (2 paires).
Ces 2 timbres se-tenant ont été utilisés sur cette jolie lettre avec TAD mentionnant la ville suisse de Lugano à l'occasion de l'exposition universelle de philatélie "Helvetia 2022" organisée du 18 au 22 mai 2022. Merci beaucoup Jürgen ! 
La poste du Liechtenstein était en effet présente à cette exposition avec ce TAD spécifique (Rose des vents) conçu par Mathias Maurer.
On March 7, 2022, the Post of Liechtenstein put into circulation its EUROPA series (2 stamps), dedicated this year to the theme of Stories and myths ("Geschichte und Mythen" in German).
As in 2020 and 2021, these two stamps (1.80 CHF, print run: 39,000), designed by Eliane Schädler, were printed (in Liechtenstein by Gutenberg AG) in the same sheetlet consisting of 4 stamps (2 pairs).
These two se-tenant stamps were used on this nice cover with postmark mentioning the Swiss city of Lugano on the occasion of the universal philatelic exhibition "Helvetia 2022" organized from May 18 to 22, 2022. Thank you very much Jürgen!
The Liechtenstein Post was indeed present at this exhibition with this specific postmark (Compass Rose) designed by Mathias Maurer.

 

Le timbre à droite évoque "La dame blanche", un personnage qu'on retrouve dans de nombreux mythes et légendes du Liechtenstein. En général, elle apparaît comme une créature inoffensive, vue par hasard ou remarquée avec un sentiment de malaise. Sur ce timbre, la dame blanche flotte sur un champ de molènes et s'évapore doucement comme elle l'aurait fait selon la légende quand elle rencontrait des enfants. La molène est synonyme de témérité et de protection contre les mauvais esprits.
Les Alpes liechtensteinoises servent de coulisses à de nombreuses légendes effrayantes. Un des personnages est "Le Tälibudel". Cet esprit ressemblant à un chien avec des yeux rouge vif aurait chassé un berger d'alpage de sa cabane. L'autre timbre montre le théâtre de ce conte avec cette créature effrayante en arrière-plan.

The stamp on the right is about "The White Woman", a figure that appears in numerous legends and myths in Liechtenstein. As a rule, she appears as a harmless being whom observers see by chance or notice by their having an uneasy feeling. On this stamp, the white woman floats through a field full of mulleins and slowly dissolves into thin air, just as she is said to have done, according to legend, when children encountered her. The mullein stands for fearlessness and protection from evil spirits.

The Liechtenstein alpine region is the setting for many eerie legends. A figure to be found in one such legend is "The Tälibudel". This spirit in dog-like form with fiery red eyes is said to have chased an alpine shepherd out of his hut. The other stamp shows the scene of this tale with the fearsome creature in the background.
