"Volkswagen 1303 S" stamp on FDC from Andorra (French Post)

Dans le cadre de l'exposition philatélique Paris-Philex, organisée du 23 au 26 juin 2022 à Paris, la poste française en Andorre a mis en circulation un nouveau timbre faisant partie d'une série (débutée en 2006 avec une Ford T) consacrée à des véhicules de collection du musée national de l'automobile d'Encamp (80 véhicules exposés).
Ce nouveau timbre (1,65€, tirage : 60000), créé et gravé par Louis Genty et imprimé en feuillet de 15 timbres, représente un modèle 1303 S de la marque automobile allemande Volkswagen. 
Ce timbre figure sur le pli Premier Jour ci-dessous avec TAD du 23 juin 2022. 
La Volkswagen 1303 S, communément appelé Coccinelle, a été une des voitures officielles de la Principauté d'Andorre. La Coccinelle 1303 est facile à identifier car c'est la seule version qui reçut un pare-brise bombé et non plat.
As part of the last Paris-Philex philatelic exhibition, organized from June 23 to 26, 2022 in Paris, the French Post in Andorra has put into circulation a new stamp that is part of a series (started in 2006 with a Ford T) devoted to collection vehicles from the National Automobile Museum in Encamp (80 vehicles on display).
This new stamp (€1.65, print run: 60,000), created and engraved by Louis Genty and printed in a sheetlet of 15 stamps, features a 1303 S model of the German car brand Volkswagen.
This stamp is present on the First Day Cover below with postmark of June 23, 2022.
The Volkswagen 1303 S, commonly called Beetle, was one of the official cars of the Principality of Andorra. The Beetle 1303 is easy to identify because it is the only version which received a curved and not flat windscreen.

 

Ce modèle 1303 S faisait en effet partie de la flotte de véhicules du Corps des Douanes entre 1973 et 1992, d'où cette mention "Duana" sur le TAD.
Cette voiture servait à transporter le personnel vers les deux douanes, celle de la rivière Runer, passage frontalier avec l'Espagne, et celle du Pas de la Casa, passage frontalier avec la France.
C'était la voiture idéale pour accomplir cette tâche car le système de refroidissement par air du moteur empêchait les machines de geler et faisait ainsi très bien face aux conditions météorologiques difficiles que l'on rencontrait souvent au Pas de la Casa.
Un exemplaire est conservé au Musée de l'automobile d'Encamp, une berline 2 portes, le matériau du corps étant du métal de couleur beige et les armoiries d'Andorre figurant sur les deux portes.

This 1303 S model was indeed part of the fleet of Customs Corps vehicles between 1973 and 1992, hence the mention "Duana" on the postmark.

This car was used to transport the staff to the two custom stations, that of the Runer river, border crossing with Spain, and that of Pas de la Casa, border crossing with France.

It was the ideal car to accomplish this task because the engine air cooling system prevented the machines from freezing and thus coped very well with the difficult weather conditions that were often encountered in Pas de la Casa.

One of these cars is exhibited in the Automobile Museum of Encamp, a 2-door sedan, the body material being beige-colored metal and the coat of arms of Andorra on both doors.
