"Beijing 2022 Olympic Games" miniature sheet on cover from Azerbaijan

Bloc-feuillet "Jeux olympiques de Beijing 2022" sur lettre d'Azerbaïdjan

Sauf erreur de ma part, l'administration postale de l'Azerbaïdjan n'avait pas émis de timbre dédié à des jeux olympiques d'hiver depuis les jeux de Nagano en 1998.
Des timbres émis en 1995 pour honorer des médaillés lors des jeux de Lillehammer en 1994 avaient toutefois été surchargés et remis en circulation en 2020.
Le 13 avril 2022, un élégant bloc-feuillet (1,5 manat, tirage : 4000), conçu par Orkan Garayev, a été mis en circulation à l'occasion des jeux olympiques d'hiver organisés à Beijing du 4 au 20 février 2022.
Ce bloc-feuillet figure sur cette enveloppe envoyée le 3 janvier 2023 depuis Bakou. Merci beaucoup Mahir !
A noter qu'une version non dentelée de ce bloc-feuillet a également été imprimée, en tirage très limité.
Unless I am mistaken, the postal administration of Azerbaijan had not issued a stamp dedicated to the Winter Olympics since the Nagano Games in 1998.
Stamps issued in 1995 to honor medalists at the Lillehammer games in 1994 had, however, been overprinted and put back into circulation in 2020.
On April 13, 2022, an elegant miniature sheet (1.5 manat, print run: 4,000), designed by Orkan Garayev, was put into circulation on the occasion of the Winter Olympics held in Beijing from February 4 to 20, 2022.
This miniature sheet was used on this envelope sent on January 3, 2023 from Baku. Thank you very much Mahir!
To note that an unperforated version of this miniature sheet has also been printed, in a very limited edition.

 

L'Azerbaïdjan participe aux jeux olympiques d'hiver depuis Nagano en 1998, sans jamais avoir remporté la moindre médaille.
A Beijing, la délégation azerbaïdjanaise était composée de 2 athlètes, Vladimir Litvintsev et Ekaterina Ryabova, engagés tous les deux dans les épreuves de patinage artistique.
Le timbre de ce bloc-feuillet représente une patineuse dont la robe semble avoir été conçue à partir du logo officiel de ces jeux de Beijing 2022, les anneaux olympiques figurant sur le timbre et dans la marge en haut à gauche.

Azerbaijan has participated in the Winter Olympics since Nagano in 1998, without ever having won a single medal.

In Beijing, the Azerbaijani delegation was made up of two athletes, Vladimir Litvintsev and Ekaterina Ryabova, both participating in the figure skating events.

The stamp on this miniature sheet is featuring a skater whose dress appears to have been designed from the official logo of the Beijing 2022 games, with the Olympic rings appearing on the stamp and in the upper left margin.
