Timbre EUROPA 2024 (Faune et flore subaquatiques) sur lettre d'Åland

Le 8 mai 2024, l'administration postale de l'archipel d'Åland, un territoire autonome rattaché à la Finlande, situé dans le golfe de Botnie (entre la Suède et la Finlande), a mis en circulation son timbre EUROPA, consacré cette année au thème de la faune et flore subaquatiques.
Pour rappel, ce thème choisi par l'association PostEurop, met en lumière la biodiversité des eaux européennes qui souffrent de la surpêche, de la pollution et du changement climatique et qui doivent être protégées pour les générations futures. 
Ce timbre (tarif "Europe" prioritaire jusqu'à 20g - 3,20€ actuellement), conçu par l'artiste Katja Syrjä, dont le thème principal de ses œuvres illustre la nature sous-marine des îles Åland, a été utilisé sur cette jolie lettre envoyée le 21 mai 2024 depuis Mariehamn, la capitale. On May 8, 2024, the postal administration of the Åland archipelago, an autonomous Finnish territory, located in the Gulf of Bothnia, between Sweden and Finland, put into circulation its EUROPA stamp, dedicated this year to the theme of underwater fauna and flora.
As a reminder, this theme chosen by the PostEurop association highlights the biodiversity of European waters which suffer from overfishing, pollution and climate change and which have to be protected for future generations.
This stamp ("Europe" priority rate up to 20g - €3.20 currently), designed by the artist Katja Syrjä, whose main theme of her works illustrates the underwater nature of the Åland Islands, was used on this cover sent on May 21, 2024 from Mariehamn, the capital. Thank you very much Liisa!

Ce timbre (tirage : 40000) a été imprimé en France par Cartor Security Printing en feuille composée de 2 fois 15 timbres (avec marge centrale illustrée), incluant des parties avec une encre bleue métallisée.
Comme l'un des 2 timbres EUROPA 2024 émis en Finlande, ce timbre est principalement consacré à la zostère marine (Zostera marina) ou herbe de mer, la seule plante à graines entièrement immergée dans la mer Baltique. La répartition de cette plante dépendante du sel s'étend au centre du golfe de Finlande et au nord de la mer de Botnie, poussant dans les fonds sableux et/ou vaseux des littoraux abrités ou des estuaires.
La plante fournit également un habitat à de nombreuses autres espèces et joue un rôle dans l'oxygénation de l'eau. Parmi ces espèces, des crustacés, mollusques ou vers marins comme une abeille des mers (Idotea balthica), une nérite des rivières (Theodoxus fluviatilis), une gravette (Nereis diversicolor) également représentés sur ce timbre.
This stamp (print run: 40,000) was printed in France by Cartor Security Printing in a sheet composed of 2 x 15 stamps (with illustrated central margin), including parts with metallic blue ink.
As one of the two EUROPA 2024 stamps issued in Finland, this stamp is mainly dedicated to eelgrass (Zostera marina), the only fully submerged seed plant in the Baltic Sea. The distribution of this salt-dependent plant extends to the central Gulf of Finland and the northern Bothnian Sea, growing in sandy and/or muddy seabeds of sheltered coastlines or estuaries.
The plant also provides habitat for many other species and plays a role in water oxygenation. Among these species, crustaceans, molluscs or marine worms such as a Baltic isopod (Idotea balthica), a river nerite (Theodoxus fluviatilis), a polychaeta (Nereis diversicolor) also depicted on this stamp.
