"Klok by Anne-Mie Van Kerckhoven" stamp on FDC from Belgium

Le 23 janvier 2023 (vente Premier Jour à Bruxelles), la poste belge bpost a mis en circulation un nouveau timbre faisant partie de sa série consacrée à l'art contemporain, avec cette fois une œuvre de l'artiste Anne-Mie Van Kerckhoven (née en 1951 à Anvers).
Ce timbre (tarif "1" domestique Non Prior - 1,36€ actuellement), imprimé en feuillet de 10 timbres (tirage : 15640 feuillets), figure sur cette lettre avec TAD (appliqué avec une encre bleue !) de Waremme (province de Liège) où avait lieu la prévente de ce timbre le 21 janvier 2023. Merci beaucoup Johan ! 
Depuis les années 1970, Anne-Mie Van Kerckhoven (également connue sous l'acronyme AMVK) est active comme artiste plasticienne interdisciplinaire et créatrice graphique.
Pour ce timbre-poste, elle a choisi l'œuvre intitulée "Klok" (Horloge), une combinaison de dessin et de collage digital faisant écho aux temps compliqués que nous vivons aujourd'hui.
On January 23, 2023 (First Day of issue in Brussels), the Belgian post bpost put into circulation a new stamp that is part of its series dedicated to contemporary art, with this time a work by the artist Anne-Mie Van Kerckhoven (born in 1951 in Antwerp).
This stamp ("1" domestic Non Prior rate - currently €1.36), printed in a sheetlet of 10 stamps (print run: 15,640 sheetlets), is present on this cover with postmark (applied with blue ink!) from Waremme (province of Liège) where the preview sale of this stamp took place on January 21, 2023. Thank you very much Johan!
Since the 1970s, Anne-Mie Van Kerckhoven (also known by the acronym AMVK) has been active as an interdisciplinary visual artist and graphic designer.
For this postage stamp, she chose the work entitled "Klok" (Clock), a combination of drawing and digital collage echoing the complicated times we live in today.

 

Ce timbre représente une tête figurant une horloge, reliée par des lignes colorées, sur un abîme de noir. Ce fond noir donne l'impression que la tête flotte tel un corps céleste.
Les lignes colorées représentent la connaissance et la science, ainsi que les connexions que nous établissons constamment en tant qu'êtres humains : avec le temps, avec nos routines, avec les liens réciproques entre les pensées.
Le thème de la tête-horloge correspond parfaitement à l'essence du travail d'AMVK : révéler des connexions cachées et nouvelles entre des choses existantes.
Docteure honoris causa de l'Université d'Anvers, AMVK est connue pour son travail toujours très coloré, hiérarchisé, féministe et très critique envers la société.
A noter qu'une autre de ses œuvres, "Construction" représentant une femme nue, avait déjà été reproduite sur un timbre belge en 2000. 

This stamp represents a head figuring a clock, connected by colored lines, on a black abyss. This black background gives the impression that the head is floating like a celestial body.

The colored lines represent knowledge and science, as well as the connections we constantly make as human beings: with time, with our routines, with the reciprocal links between thoughts.

The head-clock theme fits perfectly with the essence of AMVK's work: revealing hidden and new connections between existing things.

Doctor honoris causa from the University of Antwerp, AMVK is known for her work that is always very colourful, hierarchical, feminist and very critical towards society.

To note that another of her works, "Construction" featuring a naked woman, had already been reproduced on a Belgian stamp in 2000.

 

"Happy New Year - Year of the Rabbit" stamp on FDC from Kyrgyzstan (KEP)

Timbre "Bonne Année - Année du Lapin" sur FDC du Kirghizstan (KEP)

Après l'année du coq en 2017, l'année du chien en 2018, l'année du cochon en 2019, l'année du rat en 2020, l'année du buffle en 2021 et l'année du tigre en 2022, la Kyrgyz Express Post (KEP), le 2ème opérateur postal désigné (l'autre étant la poste kirghize) du Kirghizstan, a consacré sa 1ère émission de l'année 2023 (1 timbre émis le 30 janvier 2023) aux festivités liées au passage à la nouvelle année, dans la tradition du calendrier lunaire chinois, l'année du lapin d'eau en particulier.
Ce timbre, conçu par Diana Roşcovan et imprimé en Moldavie par Nova Imprim, a été mis en circulation en feuillet composé de 5 timbres + 1 vignette.
Diana Roşcovan a également conçu l'enveloppe FDC ainsi que le TAD Premier Jour.
J'ai eu la chance de recevoir le très joli FDC officiel ci-dessous (tirage : 400) avec TAD de Bichkek, concernant ce timbre ! 
After the Year of the Rooster in 2017, the Year of the Dog in 2018, the Year of the Pig in 2019, the Year of the Rat in 2020, the Year of the Ox in 2021 and the Year of the Tiger in 2022, the Kyrgyz Express Post (KEP), the 2nd designated postal operator (the other being the Kyrgyz Post) of Kyrgyzstan, devoted its first issue of the year 2023 (one stamp issued on January 30, 2023) to the festivities related to the transition to the New Year, in the tradition of the Chinese lunar calendar, the Year of the Water Rabbit in particular.
This stamp, designed by Diana Roşcovan and printed in Moldova by Nova Imprim, was put into circulation in a sheetlet consisting of 5 stamps + 1 label.
Diana Roşcovan also designed the FDC envelope as well as the First Day postmark.
I was lucky enough to receive the very nice official FDC below (print run: 400) with postmark from Bishkek, regarding this stamp! 

Ce timbre (150 KGS, tirage : 7500) montre un étrange lapin bleu (sans doute pour rappeler l'eau, son élément associé cette année) sortant de sa coquille...
A noter également les mentions "Bonne Année!" en chinois et anglais sur l'enveloppe.
L'année du lapin d'eau a officiellement débuté le 22 janvier 2023 d'après le calendrier lunaire chinois, et se terminera le 9 février 2024.
Le lapin est le 4ème signe animal du zodiaque chinois. Selon une ancienne légende, la 4ème année du cycle lunaire est la plus heureuse. Il n'est donc pas étonnant que le lapin soit l'un des signes du zodiaque les plus appréciés de l'astrologie chinoise.
Dans la mythologie chinoise, le lapin est le seul animal qui vit sur la lune avec la déesse Chang'e. En 2013, la Chine a même nommé son premier robot lunaire "Lapin de jade".

Also note the words "Happy New Year!" in Chinese and English on the envelope.
The Year of the Water Rabbit officially began on January 22, 2023 according to the Chinese lunar calendar, and will end on February 9, 2024.
The rabbit is the 4th animal sign of the Chinese zodiac. According to an ancient legend, the 4th year of the lunar cycle is the happiest. No wonder, therefore, that the Rabbit is one of the most beloved zodiac signs in Chinese astrology.
In Chinese mythology, the Rabbit is the only animal that lives on the moon along with the goddess Chang'e. In 2013, China even named its first robotic lunar rover "Jade Rabbit". 

Ci-dessus le joli feuillet dans lequel ce timbre a été émis, avec une vignette montrant ce même lapin à l'interieur de sa coquille, avec la mention "Année du Lapin" en chinois.
A noter cette encoche elliptique sur les dentelures verticales concernant ce timbre ainsi que les mentions "Bonne Année !" en russe, kirghize, chinois et anglais dans les marges.
Above the nice sheetlet in which that stamp was printed, with a label showing this same rabbit inside its shell, with the mention "Year of the Rabbit" in Chinese.
To note the elliptical notch on the vertical perforations on that stamp as well as the mentions "Happy New Year!" in Russian, Kyrgyz, Chinese and English in the margins.

"30 years of diplomatic relations with Ukraine" m/s on cover from Azerbaijan

Bloc-feuillet "30 ans de relations diplomatiques avec l'Ukraine" sur lettre d'Azerbaïdjan

Les relations diplomatiques entre l'Azerbaïdjan et l'Ukraine ont été établies le 31 janvier 1992, après la dissolution de l'URSS. En 1996, l'ambassade d'Ukraine a été ouverte à Bakou, et en 1997, l'ambassade d'Azerbaïdjan a été inaugurée à Kyïv. 
Depuis 30 ans, les 2 pays entretiennent de très bonnes relations dans les domaines de la coopération économique, militaire et éducative en particulier.
Dans la zone d'influence russe, l'Azerbaïdjan a été parmi les premiers pays du Caucase à avoir promis de l'aide à l'Ukraine après l'invasion de la Russie et à avoir contribué au soutien occidental.
Le 2 décembre 2022, la poste d'Azerbaïdjan a mis en circulation un intéressant bloc-feuillet (2 timbres à 0,9 manat + 1 vignette centrale) consacré au 30ème anniversaire de l'établissement de ces relations diplomatiques avec l'Ukraine.
Ce bloc-feuillet (tirage : 4000), conçu par Zohra Babayeva, a été utilisé sur cette lettre envoyée le 3 janvier 2023 depuis Bakou, la capitale. Merci beaucoup Mahir ! 
La vignette centrale évoque le 30ème anniversaire de ces relations diplomatiques et représente les drapeaux et armoiries des 2 pays.
Diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Ukraine were established on January 31, 1992, after the dissolution of the USSR. In 1996 the Ukrainian Embassy was opened in Baku, and in 1997 the Azerbaijani Embassy was inaugurated in Kyiv.
For 30 years, the two countries have maintained very good relations in the fields of economic, military and educational cooperation in particular.
In the Russian zone of influence, Azerbaijan was among the first Caucasian countries to pledge aid to Ukraine after Russia's invasion and to contribute to Western support.
On December 2, 2022, the Post of Azerbaijan put into circulation an interesting miniature sheet (2 stamps at 0.9 manat + 1 central label) dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations with Ukraine.
This miniature sheet (print run: 4,000), designed by Zohra Babayeva, was used on this cover sent on January 3, 2023 from Baku, the capital. Thank you very much Mahir!
The central label evokes the 30th anniversary of these diplomatic relations and represents the flags and coats of arms of the two countries.

 

Les 2 timbres illustrent des ornements traditionnels des 2 pays ayant des oiseaux et motifs floraux pour thèmes.
Le timbre à droite est consacré à une fresque (fleurs et faisan) située dans le palais des khans de Sheki en Azerbaïdjan, qui servait de résidence estivale pour les khans locaux. Ce palais, construit en 1797 par Muhammad Hasan Khan, fait partie du centre historique de Sheki, inscrit par l'UNESCO sur la liste dy patrimoine mondial en 2019.
Ce palais, au nord-est de la ville, ainsi que les diverses maisons de marchands, reflètent la richesse générée par l'élevage des vers à soie et le commerce des cocons de la fin du 18ème siècle au 19ème siècle. 
L'autre timbre reproduit une peinture décorative du village de Petrykivka, expression de l'art populaire ornemental ukrainien  Ukraine, un bien inscrit en 2013 par l'UNESCO sur la liste représentative du patrimoine culturel immatériel de l'humanité.
Les habitants de Petrykivka décorent leurs habitations, leurs objets domestiques et leurs instruments de musique de peintures ornementales où prédominent des fleurs imaginaires et autres éléments naturels inspirés d'une observation méticuleuse de la flore et de la faune locales. Cet art est riche de symboles : le coq symbolise le feu et l'éveil spirituel tandis que les oiseaux représentent la lumière, l'harmonie et le bonheur. Dans la croyance populaire, ces peintures protégeaient du chagrin et de tous les maux...

The two stamps illustrate traditional ornaments from the two countries with birds and floral motifs as themes.
The stamp on the right is dedicated to a fresco (flowers and pheasant) located in the Khan's Palace of Sheki in Azerbaijan, which served as a summer residence for the local khans. This palace, built in 1797 by Muhammad Hasan Khan, is part of the historic center of Sheki, inscribed by UNESCO on the list of World Heritage in 2019.
This palace, to the northeast of the city, and a number of merchant houses reflect the wealth generated by silkworm breeding and the trade in silk cocoons from the late 18th to the 19th centuries.
The other stamp reproduces a decorative painting of the village of Petrykivka, a phenomenon of the Ukrainian ornamental folk art, a property inscribed in 2013 by UNESCO on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
The people of the village of Petrykivka decorate their living quarters, household belongings and musical instruments with a style of ornamental painting that is characterized by fantastic flowers and other natural elements, based on careful observation of the local flora and fauna. This art is rich in symbolism: the rooster stands for fire and spiritual awakening, while birds represent light, harmony and happiness. In folk belief, the paintings protect people from sorrow and evil...

 

"Prince's Palace" ATM stamp on cover from Monaco

Un grand merci Maxim pour cette lettre envoyée le 26 novembre 2022 depuis la Principauté de Monaco, avec cette intéressante vignette d'affranchissement représentant le palais princier.
Cette vignette d'affranchissement comporte ici le tarif "Lettre Prioritaire 20g" en vigueur en 2022 (1,43€) pour un envoi domestique et vers la France.
Malheureusement, je n'ai aucune information précise concernant cette vignette, quelle date d'émission ? qui en est l'auteur ? quel en est son tirage ? y a-t-il des automates dans tous les bureaux de poste de la Principauté ?

This ATM stamp here includes the "Priority Letter 20g" rate in force in 2022 (€1.43) for a domestic shipment and to France.
Unfortunately, I have no precise information about this ATM stamp, what date of issue? who is the designer? what is its print run? are there machines in all post offices in the Principality?

 

Ceci dit, j'aime beaucoup cette vignette, représentant le palais princier ainsi que des losanges rouges sur fond blanc pour rappeler le blason de la Principauté et de la famille Grimaldi régnante.
Le palais princier est la résidence officielle du prince de Monaco depuis 1297, situé en haut du rocher de Monaco, quartier le plus ancien de la Principauté, surplombant la mer Méditerranée.
Construit en 1191, à l'origine pour devenir une forteresse de la république de Gênes, cet édifice a connu au cours de son histoire, bombardements et sièges par de nombreuses forces étrangères. Depuis la fin du 13ème siècle, c'est la demeure de la maison Grimaldi, du prince Albert II actuellement.

That said, I really like this ATM stamp, featuring the prince's palace as well as red diamonds on a white background to recall the coat of arms of the Principality and the reigning Grimaldi family.

The Prince's Palace has been the official residence of the Prince of Monaco since 1297, located at the top of the rock of Monaco, the oldest district of the Principality, overlooking the Mediterranean Sea.

Built in 1191, originally to become a fortress of the Republic of Genoa, this building has known throughout its history, bombardments and sieges by many foreign forces. Since the end of the 13th century, it has been the residence of the Grimaldi house, of Prince Albert II currently.

Du 26 au 28 octobre 2022, l'Égypte et les Émirats arabes unis ont célébré au Caire le 50ème anniversaire de l'établissement de relations diplomatiques entre les 2 pays.
Les Émirats arabes unis ont obtenu leur indépendance du protectorat britannique en 1971, établissant des relations avec les pays de la région dans les mois suivants.
L'un de ses liens les plus anciens et les plus solides a été avec l'Égypte, les Émirats arabes unis étant devenus l'un des principaux investisseurs dans ce pays au cours des dernières années.
Au cours des neuf premiers mois de 2022, l'État du Golfe a représenté 72 % du total des investissements arabes dans le pays, envoyant 4,6 milliards de dollars pour soutenir l'industrie et le commerce égyptiens... 
A noter également que les Émirats arabes unis ont soutenu le coup d'état militaire du 3 juillet 2013 en Égypte, contre le président Morsi, au profit du général Abdel Fattah al-Sissi, toujours au pouvoir aujourd'hui.
From October 26 to 28, 2022, Egypt and the United Arab Emirates celebrated in Cairo the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
The United Arab Emirates gained independence from the British protectorate in 1971, establishing relations with countries in the region in the following months.
One of its oldest and strongest ties has been with Egypt, with the UAE becoming one of the top investors in that country in recent years.
In the first nine months of 2022, the Gulf state accounted for 72% of total Arab investment in the country, sending $4.6 billion to support Egyptian industry and commerce...
It should also be noted that the United Arab Emirates supported the military coup of July 3, 2013 in Egypt, against President Morsi, for the benefit of General Abdel Fattah al-Sissi, still in power today.

Ce timbre représente les drapeaux des 2 pays avec, au centre, le logo officiel de ce 50ème anniversaire (de couleur dorée), largement inspiré des pyramides de Gizeh, avec une référence aux 7 émirats constituant les Émirats arabes unis.
Characterized by mutual respect and a brotherly relationship that reflects the shared values between the two countries and their people, the United Arab Emirates and Egypt have worked closely together to further increase alliances in various sectors, including the economy, politics, education, media and culture.
These ongoing relations between the two nations serve as a model for bilateral relations between Arab countries.
On this occasion and under the theme "Egypt and the United Arab Emirates - One heart", the postal administrations of the two countries have put into circulation, on January 19, 2023, a joint souvenir sheet, consisting of a large format stamp, devoted to the 50th anniversary of these bilateral relations.
The Emirati stamp (3 AED), with year 2022, extracted here from the souvenir sheet, was used on this pretty cover sent on February 17, 2023 from Dubai. Thank you very much Mohammed!
This stamp features the flags of the two countries with, in the center, the official logo of this 50th anniversary (in golden color), inspired by the pyramids of Giza, with a reference to the 7 emirates constituting the United Arab Emirates.

 

"Craftsmanship - Fan-maker" stamp on FDC from France

Timbre "Métiers d'art - Éventailliste" sur FDC de France

La poste française a débuté en 2016 (2 timbres émis chaque année) une jolie série consacrée aux métiers d'art, mettant en lumière divers métiers d'art en France et le savoir-faire rare, traditionnel ou innovant de ces artisans.
Après le sculpteur sur pierre, le joaillier, l'ébéniste, le tailleur de cristal ou le luthier, un 15ème timbre a été mis en circulation le 13 février 2023 (vente générale) ayant cette fois pour thème l'éventailliste.
Ce timbre (1,80€, tirage : 700800, imprimé en feuille de 12 timbres avec marges illustrées), conçu et gravé par Sophie Beaujard, figure sur le pli Premier Jour ci-dessous, avec TAD de Romans-sur-Isère (26 - Drôme), du 10 février 2023.
Ce timbre a en effet été conçu en collaboration avec l'éventailliste Frédérick Yvan Manuel Gay qui a son atelier dans cette ville de Romans-sur-Isère.
Sophie Beaujard et Frédérick Gay ont tous les deux signé cette enveloppe, malheureusement massacrée avec cette oblitération mécanique appliquée par le CTC de Valence (04943A)... 
The French Post started in 2016 (2 stamps issued each year) a nice series devoted to craftsmanship, highlighting various crafts in France and the rare, traditional or innovative craftsmanship of these craftsmen.
After the stone sculptor, the jeweler, the cabinetmaker, the crystal tailor or the luthier, a 15th stamp was put into circulation on February 13, 2023 (general sale), this time with the fan-maker ("éventailliste" in French) as its theme.
This stamp (€1.80, print run: 700,800, printed in sheetlet of 12 stamps with illustrated margins), designed and engraved by Sophie Beaujard, is present on the First Day cover below, with postmarks from Romans-sur-Isère (26 - Drôme), dated February 10, 2023.

Sophie Beaujard and Frédérick Gay both signed this envelope, unfortunately massacred with this ugly mechanical cancellation applied by the mail sorting center of Valence (04943A)...

 

Les origines de l'éventail remontent à l'Antiquité. En Égypte comme en Chine, en Grèce ou en Inde, les premiers éventails se présentaient sous forme d'écrans, ne pouvant être ployés. L'utilisation de cet objet va se répandre au Japon par l'intermédiaire de la Corée. Les japonais inventeront au 7ème siècle l'éventail plié, le "sensu".
A partir de 1540, les portugais, rentrant du Japon, vont répandre l'éventail en Europe. L'Italie adhérera immédiatement à cette nouvelle forme d'éventail. Catherine de Médicis mit en vogue à la Cour de France les éventails italiens. Henri III portera lui aussi ce goût en France. Mais ce n'est que vers 1600, lors du mariage de Marie de Médicis avec Henri IV que la mode de l'éventail s'imposera.
Au 19ème sièdcle, la France est le seul pays producteur en occident, es grands noms marquant la production d'éventails à cette époque : Alexandre, Duvelleroy, Kees...
Au début du 20ème siècle, les éventails de plumes occupent un temps le devant de la scène, ainsi que de très belles feuilles peintes sur soie d'inspiration Art Nouveau puis Art Déco. Cependant, la première Guerre Mondiale, puis la seconde, mettront la fin du règne de l'éventail pour des raisons économiques et des changements de mode. Aujourd’hui, la Haute Couture remet en scène l'éventail. 
On ne compte actuellement en France que 5 artisans éventaillistes, dont Frédérick Gay, et à peine une dizaine à travers le monde.
Fan's origins date back to antiquity. In Egypt as in China, Greece or India, the first fans were in the form of screens, which could not be bent. The use of this item will spread to Japan via Korea. The Japanese will invent in the 7th century the folded fan, the "sensu".
From 1540, the Portuguese, returning from Japan, will spread the fan in Europe. Italy will immediately adhere to this new form of fan. Catherine de Medici made Italian fans fashionable at the Court of France. Henri III will also bring this taste to France. But it was not until around 1600, when Marie de Médicis married Henri IV, that fan's fashion took hold.
In the 19th century, France was the only producing country in the West, the big names marking the production of fans at that time: Alexandre, Duvelleroy, Kees...
At the beginning of the 20th century, feather fans took center stage for a time, as well as very beautiful leaves painted on silk, inspired by Art Nouveau and then Art Deco. However, the first World War, then the second one, will put an end to the reign of the fan for economic reasons and changes in fashion. Today, Haute Couture is putting the fan back on stage.
There are currently only 5 fan-makers in France, including Frédérick Gay, and barely a dozen worldwide.

 

 

J'aime beaucoup ce timbre représentant 2 éventails différents ainsi que les outils utilisés par l'éventailliste et un focus sur la technique du pliage de feuilles.
L'éventail est aujourd'hui l'un des fleurons du patrimoine artistique et immatériel français.
Lors de cette vente Premier Jour à Romans-sur-Isère, l'association philatélique de Valence proposait au public des cartes maximum, comme les 2 jolis exemples ci-dessus et ci-dessous, conçues à partir d'éventails créés par Frédérick Gay. 

I really love this stamp featuring two different fans as well as the tools used by the fan-maker and a focus on the leave folding technique.

The fan is today one of the jewels of French artistic and intangible heritage.

During this stamp's First Day of issue in Romans-sur-Isère, the philatelic association of Valence offered the public maxicards, like the two pretty examples above and below, designed from fans created by Frédérick Gay.

Série "Peinture chinoise ancienne - Zhang Ruoai - 24 termes solaires (printemps)" sur FDC de Taïwan

Pour nous rappeler la beauté des peintures chinoises anciennes, la Chunghwa Post de Taïwan a prévu une série de quatre séries de timbres tirés des "Merveilles d'encre d'une forêt de perles" (Ⅳ) par le peintre Zhang Ruoai de la dynastie Qing, une œuvre conservée au Musée National du Palais à Taipei.
Après une première série émise le 3 août 2022, illustrant l'automne à travers ses six termes solaires, et une 2ème série émise le 3 novembre 2022 illustrant l'hiver, une 3ème série similaire (conception : Chart Design Co., Ltd.) a été émise le 3 février 2023, composée également de 6 timbres (tirage : 650000) imprimés dans un même feuillet de 12 timbres (2 de chaque), avec une encoche spéciale au milieu des dentelures verticales.

To remind us of the beauty of ancient Chinese paintings, Taiwan's Chunghwa Post has planned a series of four sets of stamps drawn from "Ink Marvels from a Forest of Pearls" (Ⅳ) by Qing Dynasty painter Zhang Ruoai, a work kept at the National Palace Museum in Taipei.
After a first series issued on August 3, 2022, illustrating autumn through its six solar terms, and a 2nd series issued on November 3, 2022 illustrating winter, a 3rd similar series (design: Chart Design Co., Ltd.) was issued on February 3, 2023, also composed of 6 stamps (print run: 650,000) printed in the same sheet of 12 stamps (2 of each), with a special notch in the middle of the vertical serrations.

Ces 6 timbres (8 NT$ chacun) illustrent cette fois le printemps à travers ses six termes solaires : début du printemps, eau de pluie, éveil des insectes, équinoxe de printemps, vert frais et pluie de grains.
Les "Merveilles d'encre d'une forêt de perles" est une collection de grandes peintures réunies en douze albums à l'époque de l'empereur Qianlong (1711-1799).
Ces albums portent le nom des Douze Branches Terrestres, le quatrième album étant confié à Zhang Ruoai (1713-1746), qui a peint les 24 termes solaires et exprimé chaque terme par la peinture de paysage.
Les peintures utilisent les styles des maîtres anciens pour exprimer le climat, montrer les activités coutumières et l'état du monde naturel, et dépeindre les variations propres au terme donné.

These 6 stamps (8 NT$ each) illustrate this time spring through its six solar terms: Beginning of Spring, Rain Water, Awakening of Insects, Spring Equinox, Fresh Green and Grain Rain.
The "Ink Marvels from a Forest of Pearls" is a collection of large paintings collected in twelve albums in the time of Emperor Qianlong (1711-1799).
These albums are named after the Twelve Terrestrial Branches, with the fourth album entrusted to Zhang Ruoai (1713-1746), who painted the 24 solar terms and expressed each term through landscape painting.
The paintings use the styles of the ancient masters to express the climate, show customary activities and the state of the natural world, and depict the variations proper to the given term.

 

"FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 - Bravo Vatreni!" s/s on cover from Croatia

Après sa 3ème place lors de la Coupe du monde en France en 1998 et sa 2ème place en Russie en 2018, l'équipe croate de football a fini à la 3ème place à nouveau lors de la dernière Coupe du monde de football (22ème édition) organisée au Qatar du 20 novembre au 18 décembre 2022.
Comme cela a été le cas pour célébrer cette médaille de bronze en 1998 et médaille d'argent en 2018, la poste croate "Hrvatska pošta" a mis en circulation, le 31 janvier 2023, un bloc-feuillet consacré à cette exceptionnelle performance de l'équipe nationale lors de cette compétition au Qatar. 
Ce bloc-feuillet (3 timbres à 1,14€, tirage : 30000), conçu par Alenka Lalić à partir de photographies de Drago Sopta, a été utilisé sur la lettre ci-dessous envoyée le 28 février 2023 depuis Rijeka. Merci beaucoup Dragan !
A noter que ce bloc-feuillet est la 2ème émission de la poste croate incluant des timbres libellés en euros. 
After its 3rd place in the FIFA World Cup in France in 1998 and its 2nd place in Russia in 2018, the Croatian football team finished in 3rd place again in the last FIFA World Cup (22nd edition) organized in Qatar from November 20 to December 18, 2022.
As was the case to celebrate this bronze medal in 1998 and silver medal in 2018, the Croatian Post "Hrvatska pošta" put into circulation, on January 31, 2023, a souvenir sheet dedicated to this exceptional performance of the national team during this competition in Qatar.
This souvenir sheet (three €1.14 stamps, print run: 30,000), designed by Alenka Lalić from photographs by Drago Sopta, was used on the cover below sent on February 28, 2023 from Rijeka. Thank you very much Dragan!
To note that this souvenir sheet is the 2nd issue of the Croatian Post including stamps denominated in euros.

L'entraîneur de cette équipe depuis 2017, Zlatko Dalić, symbole de cette réussite, est représenté en rouge sur le timbre central, juste derrière le capitaine et joueur emblématique de cette équipe, Luka Modrić.
Ce bloc-feuillet a été conçu en collaboration avec la fédération croate de football ("Hrvatski nogometni savez") dont l'emblème figure dans la marge en bas à droite. 
Lors de cette Coupe du monde au Qatar, la Croatie a battu le Maroc 2-1 dans le match pour la 3ème place, la finale étant remportée aux tirs aux buts par l'Argentine contre la France...

"Peace Light of Bethlehem 2022" postmark on cover from Czech Republic

TAD "Lumière de la Paix de Bethléem 2022" sur lettre de République tchèque

La Lumière de la Paix de Bethléem est une action initiée en 1986 en Autriche afin de lutter contre la pauvreté et apporter la paix, reprise par les scouts autrichiens.
Chaque année, quelques jours avant Noël, une lumière est allumée dans la grotte de la nativité à Bethléem et partagée en relais à travers l'Europe et l'Amérique du Nord.
En République tchèque, cette Lumière est apparue en 1989 pour la première fois, peu après l'effondrement du régime communiste.
Cette année, cette Lumière de Bethléem, symbole de Noël, a été transmise à des scouts tchèques le 10 décembre 2022 à la frontière entre les 2 pays, au point de passage de Mikulov-Drasenhofen.
The Peace Light of Bethlehem is an action initiated in 1986 in Austria in order to fight against poverty and bring peace, taken over by Austrian Scouts. 
Each year, a few days before Christmas, a light is lit in the Nativity Cave in Bethlehem and relayed throughout Europe and North America. 
In Czech Republic, this Light appeared in 1989 for the first time, shortly after the collapse of the communist regime. 
This year, this Light of Bethlehem, symbol of Christmas, was transmitted to Czech scouts on December 10, 2022 at the border between the 2 countries, at the Mikulov-Drasenhofen crossing point.

Le 11 décembre 2022, cette Lumière est arrivée dans la cathédrale de Brno puis dans celles situées à Olomouc et Prague, ainsi que d'autres grandes villes du pays.
Cette Lumière de Bethléem, symbolisant l'amitié, la paix et la naissance de Jésus-Christ, avait pour devise cette année "La paix commence avec toi".
Comme en 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020 et 2021, du 17 au 23 décembre 2022, la poste tchèque a mis en circulation dans ces 3 villes de Brno, Olomouc et Prague, un même TAD consacré à cette Lumière de Bethléem ("Betlémské světlo"), avec une représentation de cette Lumière et une fleur de lys, symbole du mouvement scout.

Le timbre utilisé ici est le timbre de Noël (tarif permanent "B" - envoi domestique standard jusqu'à 50g en mode économique - 23 CZK actuellement), conçu par Anna Khunová, émis le 26 octobre 2022, représentant une comète transportant l'Enfant Jésus. Les cheveux de la comète forment une partition de musique imaginaire, avec un fragment du chant de Noël tchèque le plus connu, "The Lord Christ Was Born". 
On December 11, 2022, this Light arrived in Brno Cathedral and then in those located in Olomouc and Prague, as well as other major cities in the country.
This Light of Bethlehem, symbolizing friendship, peace and the birth of Jesus Christ, had as its motto this year "Peace begins with you".
As in 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021, from December 17 to 23, 2022, the Czech Post has put into circulation in these 3 cities of Brno, Olomouc and Prague, the same postmark dedicated to this Light of Bethlehem ("Betlémské světlo") , with a representation of this Light and a fleur-de-lis, symbol of the scout movement.
This postmark (design: Tomáš Říha) was applied on December 22, 2022 by the main office of Prague 1, on the pretty cover above. Thank you very much Slavek!
The stamp used here is the Christmas stamp (permanent rate "B" - standard domestic postage up to 50g in economy mode - 23 CZK currently), designed by Anna Khunová, issued on October 26, 2022, depicting a comet carrying the Child Jesus. The comet’s hair forms an imaginary score of music, with music notation of a fragment of the best-known Czech carol "The Lord Christ Was Born".

"30th anniversary of the resumption of diplomatic relations" joint stamp with Mexico, on cover from Vatican City

Le 21 septembre 1992, une note conjointe du Secrétariat des affaires étrangères du Mexique et du Secrétariat d'État du Saint-Siège annonçait la réconciliation qui s'était opérée entre les 2 pays, rendue possible par la prise de conscience du rôle central et fondateur que la dimension religieuse porte dans la vie du peuple mexicain...
Le 16 novembre 2022, les administrations postales de la Cité du Vatican et du Mexique ont mis en circulation un timbre commun consacré au 30ème anniversaire de la reprise de ces relations diplomatiques entre les 2 pays ("30° Anniversario della ripresa delle relazioni diplomatiche tra la Santa Sede e il Messico").
La version vaticane de ce timbre (2,40€, tirage : 37000), conçu par Patrizio Daniele et imprimé en France par Cartor Security Printing, a été utilisée sur cette lettre envoyée le 2 janvier 2023 depuis la Cité du Vatican. Merci beaucoup Salvatore !
Ce timbre représente les armoiries nationales des deux États unis dans cet important projet avec les couleurs nationales respectives apparaissant en arrière-plan. 
On September 21, 1992, a joint note from the Secretariat of Foreign Affairs of Mexico and the Secretariat of State of the Holy See announced the reconciliation that had taken place between the two countries, made possible by the awareness of the central and founding role that the religious dimension carries in the life of the Mexican people...
On November 16, 2022, the postal administrations of Vatican City and Mexico put into circulation a joint stamp dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the resumption of these diplomatic relations between the two countries ("30° Anniversario della ripresa delle relazioni diplomatiche tra la Santa Sede e il Messico").
The Vatican version of this stamp (€2.40, print run: 37,000), designed by Patrizio Daniele and printed in France by Cartor Security Printing, was used on this cover sent on January 2, 2023 from the Vatican City. Thank you very much Salvatore!
This stamp depicts the national coats of arms of the two states united in this important project with the respective national flag's colors appearing in the background.

Catholicism was introduced in Mexico in the early 16th century by the Spanish Empire. The majority of Mexicans practice the Catholic faith, however, since the adoption of the current Constitution in 1917, Mexico has been a secular nation.

The Holy See and Mexico severed diplomatic relations after Mexican President Benito Juárez confiscated church property between 1856 and 1861. In 1926, after several years of Mexican Revolution and insecurity, President Plutarco Elías Calles, leader of the ruling Institutional Revolutionary Party, enacted a law which eradicated all the personal property of the churches, closed churches that were not registered with the State, and prohibited clerics from holding public office.

In 1974, Mexican President Luis Echeverría paid a visit to the Holy See, becoming the first Mexican head of state to do so. In 1979, Pope John Paul II became the first pope to visit Mexico.

In 1992, after more than 130 years, the Mexican government therefore reestablished formal diplomatic relations with the Holy See.

 

"Brothers Grimm's tales - Hans in Luck" charity stamp set on FDC from Germany

Série de bienfaisance "Contes des frères Grimm - Jean le Chanceux" sur FDC d'Allemagne

Le 2 février 2023, la Deutsche Post a mis en circulation une série de bienfaisance (3 timbres) consacrée au célèbre conte des frères Grimm, "Jean le Chanceux" ("Hans im Glück" en allemand), publié en 1812 dans le premier volume des "Contes de l'enfance et du foyer" ("Kinder- und Hausmärchen").
Avec cette série annuelle émise avec une surtaxe au profit d'associations caritatives ("Für die Wohlfahrtspflege"), la poste allemande a débuté en 2014 (avec "Hansel et Gretel") un cycle consacré à différents contes des frères Grimm.
A noter que les "Contes de l'enfance et du foyer" des frères Grimm sont inscrits sur le registre "Mémoire du Monde" de l'UNESCO depuis 2005.

On February 2, 2023, the Deutsche Post put into circulation a charity series (3 stamps) dedicated to the Grimm brothers' tale, "Hans in Luck" ("Hans im Glück" in German), published in 1812 in the first volume of "Children's and Household Tales" ("Kinder- und Hausmärchen").
With this annual series issued with a surcharge for caritative associations ("Für die Wohlfahrtspflege"), the German Post started in 2014 (with "Hansel and Gretel") a cycle dedicated to different tales written by the Brothers Grimm.
It should be noted that the "Children's and Household Tales" of the Brothers Grimm are listed on the UNESCO's Memory of the World Register since 2005.

Jean (Hans) reçoit en paiement de sept années de travail auprès d'un maître artisan une pépite d'or. Il échange alors cette pépite contre un cheval, puis le cheval contre une vache, la vache contre un cochon têtu, le cochon contre une oie, l'oie contre une pierre à aiguiser.
Enfin, il perd la pierre à aiguiser en la laissant tomber au fond d'un puits. À chacun des échanges successifs, il est persuadé de bien agir car les personnes avec qui il troque ses biens l'assurent qu'il réalise une bonne affaire.
Après avoir perdu la pierre à aiguiser, il est soulagé car elle pesait lourd, et continue son chemin heureux vers la maison de sa mère, en s'écriant "il n'y a personne sous le soleil aussi heureux que moi".
These 3 stamps illustrate the main scenes of this tale: "The farewell: Hans says goodbye to his master" (€0.85 + €0.40), "Hans exchanges all kinds of objects during his journey" (€1.00 + €0.45) and "The return: Hans returns to his mother" (€1.60 + €0.55).
Hans receives in payment for seven years of work with a master craftsman a nugget of gold. He then exchanges this nugget for a horse, then the horse for a cow, the cow for a stubborn pig, the pig for a goose, the goose for a whetstone.
Finally, he loses the whetstone by dropping it at the bottom of a well. At each of the successive exchanges, he is convinced that he is doing the right thing because the people with whom he barters his goods assure him that he is getting a good deal.
After losing the whetstone, he is relieved as it weighed heavy, and continues on his happy way to his mother's house, exclaiming "there is no one under the sun as happy as me".

 

"Indonesia 2022 World Stamp Championship - tigers" stamp set on cover from Indonesia

Série "Championnat du monde de philatélie "Indonesia 2022" - Tigres" sur lettre d'Indonésie

A l'occasion du Championnat du monde de philatélie "Indonesia 2022" organisé du 4 au 9 août 2022 à Djakarta, la poste indonésienne a mis en circulation, le 4 août 2022, entre autres, une série (3 timbres) consacrée, sauf erreur, au tigre de Sumatra.
Ces 3 timbres (5000 IDR) ont été imprimés dans un même feuillet composé de 6 timbres (2 de chaque) + 2 vignettes (tirage : 9000 feuillets). 3 blocs-feuillets ont également été mis en circulation, avec chacun de ces 3 mêmes timbres (10000 IDR) incluant en plus le logo de cette exposition "Indonesia 2022". 
Un grand merci Irene pour cette jolie lettre envoyée le 10 janvier 2023 depuis la ville de Malang (île de Java), affranchie avec cette série complète !

Le tigre de Sumatra (Panthera tigris sumatrae), l'une des plus petites sous-espèces de tigre, est l'unique survivant des tigres vivant sur les îles de la Sonde qui abritaient également les tigres de Bali et de Java, désormais éteints. Cette espèce, en danger critique à cause de la déforestation, vit principalement dans le parc national de Kerinci Seblat et dans celui de Gunung Leuser.
One of the 2 vignettes of the sheetlet is present on this cover, commemorating the 100th anniversary of the association of philatelists in Indonesia ("Perkumpulan Filatelis Indonesia"), created on March 29, 1922.
The 2nd vignette of this sheetlet reproduces the logo of this World Philatelic Championship "Indonesia 2022".
The tiger theme was chosen to also celebrate the year of the water tiger which, according to the Chinese calendar, took place from February 1, 2022 to January 31, 2023.
The Sumatran tiger (Panthera tigris sumatrae), one of the smallest tiger subspecies, is the sole surviving tiger living on the Sunda Islands which were also home to the now extinct Bali and Java tigers. This species, critically endangered due to deforestation, lives mainly in Kerinci Seblat National Park and Gunung Leuser National Park.

Le 26 avril 2010, la poste de la Fédération de BiH de Sarajevo, l'un des 3 opérateurs postaux de la Bosnie-Herzégovine (BiH), avec la poste de la Republika Srpska (Pošte Srpske) et la poste croate de Mostar (HP Mostar), a mis en circulation une jolie série EUROPA (2 timbres) illustrant le thème choisi par l'organisation PostEurop cette année-là, les livres pour enfants ("Dječija književnost").
Ces 2 timbres (1 BAM et 1,50 BAM) ont été imprimés dans un même feuillet composé de 10 timbres (5 de chaque), dans un carnet composé de 6 timbres (3 de chaque) ainsi que dans le bloc-feuillet (tirage : 30000) présent sur ce FDC officiel avec TAD de Sarajevo.
Cette série EUROPA est consacrée à la bande dessinée "Petit Bleu au pays des dragons" ("Mali Blu u Zemlji Zmajeva"), écrite par Mustafa Tanović et illustrée par Sanjin Fazlić.
On April 26, 2010, the Post of the Federation of BiH in Sarajevo, one of the 3 postal operators of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), together with the Post of Republika Srpska (Pošte Srpske) and the Croatian Post of Mostar (HP Mostar), put into circulation a nice EUROPA series (2 stamps) illustrating the theme chosen by the PostEurop organization that year, children's books ("Dječija književnost").
These two stamps (1 BAM and 1.50 BAM) have been printed in the same sheetlet composed of 10 stamps (5 of each), in a booklet composed of 6 stamps (3 of each) as well as in the souvenir sheet (print : 30,000) present on this official FDC with postmark from Sarajevo.
This EUROPA series is dedicated to the comic strip "Little Blue in the Land of Dragons" ("Mali Blu u Zemlji Zmajeva"), written by Mustafa Tanović and illustrated by Sanjin Fazlić.

Il s'agit d'un des premiers contes de fées illustrés en Bosnie-Herzégovine. Son auteur, Mustafa Tanović, a voulu résoudre au mieux le dilemme de savoir quoi lire à un enfant avant le coucher.
Ce livre dédié au fils de Mustafa Tanović pour son premier anniversaire est un conte de fées sur un garçon porteur de bouclier qui, à la recherche de larmes de dragon comme seul médicament capable de guérir son roi, rencontre son meilleur ami, le dragon Noh.
Et Noh est devenu très probablement le meilleur ami de nombreux enfants, grâce aux fantastiques illustrations du graphiste universitaire Sanjin Fazlić.
Ce livre a été publié par "MAG Plus Sarajevo", imprimé en deux langues, sur du papier de qualité et avec suffisamment d'images pour retenir l'attention des lecteurs plus ou moins jeunes.

This comic is a vividly illustrated fairy tale about a boy whose nobility, compassion and courage saved the entire kingdom.

This is one of the first illustrated fairy tales in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Its author, Mustafa Tanović, wanted to best solve the dilemma of what to read to a child before bedtime.

This book dedicated to Mustafa Tanović's son on his first birthday is a fairy tale about a shield-bearing boy who, in search of dragon tears as the only medicine capable of healing his king, meets his best friend, the dragon Noh.

And Noh has quite possibly become many children's best friends, thanks to the fantastic illustrations of university graphic designer Sanjin Fazlić.

This book was published by "MAG Plus Sarajevo", printed in two languages, on quality paper and with enough images to hold the attention of young and older readers. 

 

Sepac 2022 (local beverages) stamp on cover from Greenland

Timbre Sepac 2022 (Boissons locales) sur lettre du Groenland

Pour rappel, la Small European Postal Administration Cooperation (SEPAC) est une association de petites administrations postales européennes (12 actuellement), créée en 1999, afin de discuter de diverses questions philatéliques et postales spécifiques à ces petites structures.
Depuis 2007 (thème des paysages), des timbres sur un thème commun sont émis par certains membres (9 en 2022, toutes sauf Gibraltar, le Vatican et l'île de Man) et une élection du plus beau timbre Sepac est organisée depuis 2010.
Le Groenland participe à ces émissions Sepac depuis 2007 et a émis, le 31 mai 2022, son 13ème timbre Sepac, illustrant le thème des boissons locales.
Ce timbre (20 DKK), conçu par l'artiste Lisbeth Karline (née en 1981, son 12ème timbre groenlandais), a été utilisé  à droite sur la lettre ci-dessous, envoyée le 16 décembre 2022 depuis Tasiilaq, la principale ville sur la côte sud-est du Groenland où est situé le siège des services postaux de l'île.
As a reminder, the Small European Postal Administration Cooperation (SEPAC) is an association of small European postal administrations (12 currently), created in 1999, in order to discuss various philatelic and postal issues specific to these small structures. 
Since 2007 (theme : landscapes), stamps having a common theme are issued by some members (9 in 2022, all except Gibraltar, Vatican City and Isle of Man) and an election for the most beautiful Sepac stamp has been organized for the first time in 2010.
Greenland has participated in these Sepac issues since 2007 and issued its 13th Sepac stamp on May 31, 2022, illustrating the theme of local beverages.
This stamp (20 DKK), designed by artist Lisbeth Karline (born in 1981, her 12th Greenlandic stamp), was used on the right on the cover below, sent on December 16, 2022 from Tasiilaq, the main town on the southeast coast of Greenland where the headquarters of the island's postal services are located.  

 

Ce timbre, imprimé en feuillet de 10 timbres, est consacré à l'eau groenlandaise en bouteille. Pendant des milliers d'années et au cours de plusieurs périodes glaciaires, l'eau a été gelée et préservée dans la calotte glaciaire du Groenland, créant une encapsulation unique de l'un des trésors les plus précieux de la planète : l'eau potable.
L'eau groenlandaise est commercialisée dans des bouteilles en verre ou en plastique, tant au Groenland que sur le marché international.

A noter que la poste du Liechtenstein a également émis un timbre Sepac en 2022 consacré à l'eau potable.
L'autre timbre ci-dessus (18 DKK + 1 DKK) a été émis le 5 février 2022 pour célébrer le 50ème anniversaire (jour pour jour) de la princesse Mary, l'épouse depuis 2004 du prince héritier Frederik de Danemark. Née en Australie, Mary Donaldson, a créé en 2007 sa fondation qu vient en aide à des causes humanitaires et sociales. 
Via l'achat de ce timbre, 1 DKK est reversé au centre Mælkebøtte à Nuuq, qui vient en particulier en aide aux jeunes et adolescents.
Sur ce timbre conçu par Robert Dam, la princesse Mary a été photographiée par Stine Heilmann en costume national groenlandais.

This stamp, printed in a sheetlet of 10 stamps, is devoted to Greenlandic bottled water. For thousands of years and across several ice ages, water has been frozen and preserved in the Greenland ice sheet, creating a unique encapsulation of one of the planet's most precious treasures: drinking water.

Greenlandic water is marketed in glass or plastic bottles, both in Greenland and on the international market.

To note that the Liechtenstein Post also issued a Sepac stamp in 2022 dedicated to drinking water.

The other stamp above (18 DKK + 1 DKK) was issued on February 5, 2022 to celebrate the 50th birthday (to the day) of Princess Mary, wife since 2004 of Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark.

Born in Australia, Mary Donaldson created her foundation in 2007, which helps humanitarian and social causes.

By purchasing this stamp, 1 DKK is donated to the Mælkebøtte center in Nuuq, which helps young people and adolescents in particular.

"Fête du Timbre 2023 - Stamp is biking" stamp and souvenir sheet on FDCs from France

Timbre et bloc-feuillet "Fête du Timbre 2023 - Le timbre fait du vélo" sur FDCs de France

Après un cycle de 4 ans consacré aux voitures (rallye, anciennes, au cinéma...), changement de thème pour la Fête du Timbre depuis 2022 avec un focus sur le train et le voyage.
Un autre moyen de transport décarboné, le vélo, était à l'honneur lors de la Fête du Timbre organisée à travers la France les 11 et 12 mars 2023.
Cette année, 91 villes organisaient cette Fête du Timbre, situées dans 76 départements différents de France métropolitaine.
Pour rappel, cette manifestation philatélique, qui a lieu chaque année depuis 1938 à l'initiative de la FFAP ("Fédération Française des Associations Philatéliques"), était appelée "Journée du Timbre" jusqu'en 1999. L'émission d'un timbre spécifique concernant cette Journée n'a eu lieu qu'en 1944.

Another low-carbon means of transport, the bicycle, was in the spotlight during the "Fête du Timbre" organized across France on March 11 and 12, 2023.
This year, 91 cities organized this "Fête du Timbre", located in 76 different departments of metropolitan France.
As a reminder, this philatelic event, which takes place every year since 1938 at the initiative of the FFAP ("French Federation of Philatelic Associations"), was called "Journée du Timbre" ("Stamp Day") until 1999. Comme les années précédentes, un timbre (1,16€, tirage : 720000) et un bloc-feuillet (2,32€, tirage : 350000) ont été mis en circulation le 11 mars 2023, conçus respectivement par Christophe Laborde-Balen (gravure également) et Olivier Balez (né en 1972), illustrateur et auteur de bande dessinée, reconnaissable par son style rétro et psychédélique.
Le bloc-feuillet "Cyclotourisme" figure sur le pli Premier Jour ci-dessus, avec TAD ("Le timbre fait du vélo") conçu par Christophe Laborde-Balen, de la ville de Lyon (69 - Rhône). 
J'aime beaucoup ce bloc-feuillet avec son timbre rond illustrant une famille de cyclotouristes en bord de mer. Le cyclotourisme consiste à découvrir des sites, des paysages, des lieux où aller à la rencontre des populations en utilisant le vélo comme moyen de locomotion, sans impact négatif sur l'environnement et en prenant son temps (slow tourisme). 

As in previous years, a stamp (€1.16, print run: 720,000) and a souvenir sheet (€2.32, print run: 350,000) were put into circulation on March 11, 2023, designed respectively by Christophe Laborde-Balen (also engraving) and Olivier Balez (born in 1972), illustrator and comic book author, recognizable by his retro and psychedelic style.

The souvenir sheet "Bicycle touring" ("Cyclotourisme" in French) was used on the First Day cover above, with postmark ("Le timbre fait du vélo" - "Stamp is biking") designed by Christophe Laborde-Balen, from the city of Lyon (69 - Rhône).

I really love this souvenir sheet with its round-shaped stamp illustrating a family of cyclists by the sea. Bicycle touring consists in discovering sites, landscapes, places where to go to meet the populations by using bicycle as a means of locomotion, without negative impact on the environment and by taking your time (slow tourism).

 

Le timbre "Vélo à assistance électrique" (1,16€), imprimé en feuillet de 15 timbres, figure sur les 2 enveloppes ci-dessus et ci-dessous, avec TADs respectifs de Lyon et Camon (80 - Somme), merci beaucoup Axel !
Je ne suis pas fan de ce timbre montrant simplement un vélo électrique (créé par la marque française Gitane) se déplaçant (sans cycliste...) devant un paysage de montagne a priori.
Le vélo électrique remplace de plus en plus la voiture, principalement dans les zones urbaines, sur des trajets de courte ou moyenne distance. La Poste dispose d'une flotte de plus de 20000 vélos à assistance électrique Cargo pour distribuer le courrier chaque jour à travers la France.

The "Electronically power assisted cycle" stamp (€1.16), printed in a sheetlet of 15 stamps, was used on the two envelopes above and below, with respective postmarks from Lyon and Camon (80 - Somme), thank you very much Axel!

I'm not a fan of this stamp simply showing an electronically power assisted bike (created by the French brand Gitane) moving (without a cyclist...) in front of a mountain landscape it seems.

The electronically power assisted cycle is increasingly replacing the car, mainly in urban areas, on short or medium distance journeys. La Poste has a fleet of more than 20,000 Cargo electric bikes to deliver mail every day across France.

Comme les années précédentes, à partir de 10€ d'achat lors de cette manifestation auprès des associations philatéliques locales (Philapostel Rhône-Alpes à Lyon), l'entier postal (tarif "Lettre Verte", tirage limité) ci-dessous était offert, avec le timbre "Vélo à assistance électrique" pré-imprimé, et TAD de Lyon ici.
As in previous years, for a minimum of €10.00 purchased during this event from local philatelic associations ("Philapostel Rhône-Alpes" in Lyon), the postal stationery ("Green Letter" rate, limited edition) below was offered for free, with the pre-printed "Electronically power assisted cycle" stamp, and the same cancellation from Lyon here.

"Eurovision Song Contest" stamp set on cover from Norway

Série "Concours Eurovision de la chanson" sur lettre de Norvège

Le 16 mai 2009, Alexander Rybak remportait la 54ème édition du Concours Eurovision de la chanson, organisée cette année-là à Moscou.
Avec sa chanson "Fairytale" (et son célèbre violon), il permettait à la Norvège de remporter ce Concours pour la 3ème fois de son histoire, et d'organiser la 55ème édition en 2010.
A cette occasion, la poste norvégienne avait mis en circulation, le 18 mai 2010, une série de 4 timbres (tarif permanent domestique) consacrée à ce Concours Eurovision de la chanson et en particulier aux artistes ayant permis à la Norvège de le remporter : Bobbysocks en 1985, Secret Garden en 1995 et Alexander Rybak en 2009.
Un grand merci Rune pour l'envoi de cette lettre le 26 janvier 2023 depuis la ville de Mandal, affranchie avec cette série complète !
On May 16, 2009, Alexander Rybak won the 54th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest, organized that year in Moscow.
With his song "Fairytale" (and his famous violin), he allowed Norway to win this Contest for the 3rd time in its history, and to organize the 55th edition in 2010.
On this occasion, the Norwegian Post had put into circulation, on May 18, 2010, a series of 4 stamps (permanent domestic rate) dedicated to this Eurovision Song Contest and in particular to artists who enabled Norway to win it: Bobbysocks in 1985, Secret Garden in 1995 and Alexander Rybak in 2009.

Concernant le 4ème timbre de cette série, l'artiste a été désigné suite à un concours en ligne, organisé en coopération avec NRK, le diffuseur norvégien de ce Concours Eurovision de la chanson en 2010.
Parmi les artistes proposés au vote : Jahn Teigen, Britt Synnøve Johansen, Elisabeth Andreassen, Wig Wam, Maria Haukaas Storeng ou Anita Skorgan.
Ce fut finalement Jahn Teigen qui a été choisi, un musicien et chanteur qui représenta la Norvège à ce Concours à 3 reprises, en 1978, 1982 et 1983.
En 1978, à Paris, Jahn Teigen est devenu célèbre pour n'avoir reçu aucun point de la part des nations participantes. C'était la première fois qu'une chanson recevait zéro point avec le nouveau système de vote du Concours Eurovision de la chanson...

A noter qu'Alexander Rybak a représenté la Norvège une 2ème fois, en 2018 à Lisbonne, finissant alors à la 15ème place. 

Regarding the 4th stamp of this series, the artist was chosen following an online competition, organized in cooperation with NRK, the Norwegian broadcaster of this Eurovision Song Contest in 2010.

Among the artists proposed to vote: Jahn Teigen, Britt Synnøve Johansen, Elisabeth Andreassen, Wig Wam, Maria Haukaas Storeng or Anita Skorgan.

It was finally Jahn Teigen who was chosen, a musician and singer who represented Norway at this Competition on 3 occasions, in 1978, 1982 and 1983.

In 1978 in Paris, Jahn Teigen became famous for not receiving any points from the participating nations. It was the first time a song received zero points with the new Eurovision Song Contest voting system...

To note that Alexander Rybak represented Norway a second time, in 2018 in Lisbon, finishing 15th.

 

"Roses - 25 years of diplomatic relations" joint stamp set with New Zealand, on cover from China

Série "Roses - 25 ans de relations diplomatiques", commune avec la Nouvelle-Zélande, sur lettre de Chine

Le 9 octobre 1997, les administrations postales de Chine et Nouvelle-Zélande ont mis en circulation une série commune (2 timbres), consacrée à des roses, à l'occasion du 25ème anniversaire de l'établissement de relations diplomatiques entre les 2 pays.
La version chinoise de cette série (2 x 1,50 yuan), conçue par Zhang Guizheng, a été utilisée sur cette lettre envoyée le 10 janvier 2023 depuis la capitale, Beijing. Merci beaucoup Ruinan !
La Chine et la Nouvelle-Zélande ont émis conjointement cette série pour promouvoir l'amitié entre les deux peuples. Il existe plus de 200 sortes de roses dans le monde et plus de 70 en Chine, dont la plupart sont célèbres. Après une longue période de culture, de croisement et d'élevage artificiel, il existe plus de 20000 sortes de roses dans le monde actuellement. 
Les roses chinoises (timbre à gauche) poussaient à l'origine dans les provinces chinoises du Liaoning et du Shandong.
On October 9, 1997, the postal administrations of China and New Zealand put into circulation a joint series (2 stamps), devoted to roses, on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
The Chinese version of this series (2 x 1.50 yuan), designed by Zhang Guizheng, was used on this cover sent on January 10, 2023 from the capital, Beijing. Thank you very much Ruinan!
China and New Zealand jointly issued this series to promote friendship between the two peoples. There are more than 200 kinds of roses in the world and more than 70 in China, most of which are famous. After a long period of cultivation, crossbreeding and artificial breeding, there are more than 20,000 kinds of roses in the world today.
Chinese roses (stamp at left) originally grew in the Chinese provinces of Liaoning and Shandong.

 

L'autre timbre de cette série commune représente une rose de Nouvelle-Zélande appelée "la maison du nuage blanc", qui a été créée par le célèbre cultivateur Sam Mag pour célébrer le 150ème anniversaire de la création de la Nouvelle-Zélande.
Ruinan a complété son affranchissement avec 2 timbres (1,20 yuan chacun, conception :Wang Huming) faisant partie d'une jolie série (6 timbres) émise le 5 septembre 2022, ayant pour thème le tigre à travers des reliques culturelles.
Cette série fait a priori partie de la série commune "Forum international de préservation du tigre - Russie 2022" même si le logo de ce Forum ne figure pas sur ces timbres...
Le timbre à gauche représente un oreiller en porcelaine émaillée blanche en forme de tigre accroupi avec des motifs décoratifs bruns, datant de la dynastie Jin (1115-1234), l'autre timbre étant consacré à un ornement en jade en forme de tigre, datant de la Période des Printemps et Automnes (771 à 481/453 avant J.-C).
The other stamp in this joint series features a New Zealand rose called "home of white cloud", which was created by famed thremmatologist Sam Mag to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the founding of New Zealand.
Ruinan completed his postage with two stamps (1.20 yuan each, design: Wang Huming) part of a nice set (6 stamps) issued on September 5, 2022, with the theme of the tiger through cultural relics.
This series is a priori part of the joint series "International Tiger Preservation Forum - Russia 2022" even if the logo of this Forum does not appear on these stamps...
The stamp on the left shows a crouching tiger-shaped white-glazed porcelain pillow with brown decorative patterns, dating from the Jin dynasty (1115-1234), the other stamp is dedicated to a tiger-shaped jade ornament, dating from the Spring and Autumn Period (771 to 481/453 BC).
