800 Years of Riga Cathedral - Special postmark

While in France we've celebrated the 800th anniversary of the Cathedral of Reims (souvenir sheet of two round stamps issued on May 7, 2011), the Latvian Post has also commemorated the 800th anniversary of the founding of the Protestant Cathedral of Riga ("Rīgas Doms" in Latvian), the country's capital.
No stamp was curiously issued by the Latvian Post at this occasion that has only put into circulation, on July 25, 2011, a nice illustrated cover (designed by Ģirts Grīva, printing run : 1,000 only) and a special cancellation.
To note however that this building was depicted on a stamp issued in 1998...

Thank you very much Juris for this special envelope franked with a definitive stamp issued in 1994 featuring the arms of the country :-)
I really love the postmark with the rooster appearing at the top of the clock tower of this cathedral, considered as the largest medieval church of the Baltic countries.
Built from 1211, this building has undergone many changes over the past 800 years in particular with the construction of the present tower in the late 18th century.
For the anecdote, the rooster dating from that time is now preserved in the cloister of the cathedral.
With a remarkable organ built in Germany (consisting of 6,718 pipes), inaugurated in 1884, this building is also a musical mecca in the Latvian capital. This organ was depicted on a Latvian stamp issued in 2000 in a series devoted to the 800 years of Riga.
