"SpongeBob SquarePants" stamp on FDC from Germany

Timbre "Bob l'éponge" sur FDC d'Allemagne 

Le 2 mars 2026, la Deutsche Post a mis en circulation un timbre consacré à Bob l'éponge ("SpongeBob SquarePants"), une série d'animation comique américaine, créée par le biologiste, ancien professeur de biologie marine, et animateur Stephen Hillenburg, diffusée depuis le 1er mai 1999 sur Nickelodeon.
La série raconte les aventures d'une éponge jaune carrée anthropomorphe et de ses amis au fond de l'océan Pacifique dans une ville nommée "Bikini Bottom".
Ce timbre (0,95€), conçu par Ingo Boehm et Jan-Niklas Kröger, imprimé en feuillet de 10 timbres, a été utilisé sur la lettre ci-dessous avec TAD Premier Jour bleu de Bonn. Merci beaucoup Jens ! 
La première diffusion allemande de cette série d'animation a eu lieu le 23 août 2002 sur Super RTL. 
Bob l'éponge est connu pour sa joie de vivre et son optimisme débordants, sa naïveté et sa serviabilité parfois envahissante. Il vit dans un ananas avec son animal de compagnie, l'escargot miaulant Gary.  
On March 2, 2026, the Deutsche Post put into circulation a stamp dedicated to SpongeBob SquarePants, an American animated comedy series created by marine biologist, former professor of marine biology, and animator Stephen Hillenburg, which has aired on Nickelodeon since May 1, 1999.
The series tells the story of an anthropomorphic yellow square sponge and his friends at the bottom of the Pacific Ocean in a city called Bikini Bottom.

Grâce à son mélange unique d'humour adapté aux enfants et de références subtiles pour les adultes, la série est considérée comme un véritable classique de la culture populaire. L'un des messages intemporels de Bob l'Éponge est l'importance de l'amitié, célébrée sur ce timbre.

Sauf erreur, la Deutsche Post est la 2ème administration postale a émettre un timbre consacré à Bob l'éponge, après l'USPS (USA) en 2025.
Jens a utilisé deux autres timbres identiques (0,15€), émis le 1er août 2024, faisant partie de la série courante intitulée "Welt der Briefe" ("Un monde de lettres", conception : Bettina Walter), initiée en décembre 2021, représentant ici un paon dont la roue est constituée de lettres. 
His favorite place is the Krusty Krab, where he works with passion as a fry cook. He has many adventures with his best friend, the lazy starfish Patrick (also featured on the stamp).
Their mutual friend is Sandy Cheeks the Squirrel, a spirited and adventurous Texas squirrel who lives under a glass dome.
Thanks to its unique blend of child-friendly humor and subtle references for adults, the series is considered a true pop culture classic. One of SpongeBob SquarePants' timeless messages is the importance of friendship, celebrated on this stamp.

Unless I'm mistaken, the Deutsche Post is the second postal administration to issue a stamp dedicated to SpongeBob SquarePants, after the USPS (USA) in 2025. 
Jens used two other identical stamps (€0.15), issued on August 1, 2024, as part of the current definitive series entitled "Welt der Briefe" ("A World of Letters", design: Bettina Walter), launched in December 2021, depicting here a peacock with a feather's train made of envelopes.   

"30th anniversary of local autonomy" stamp on FDC from Republic of Korea

Timbre "30 ans d'autonomie locale" sur FDC de Corée du Sud 

2025 marquait le 30ème anniversaire de l'autonomie locale en République de Corée. En 1995, avec les premières élections locales nationales, le système permettant aux habitants d'élire directement les responsables de leurs collectivités locales a en effet été instauré.
Ce système a marqué une rupture avec une structure centralisée et le début d'une véritable démocratie participative, garantissant l'autonomie et la participation des citoyens. 
La démocratie participative est une pratique démocratique où les habitants participent directement aux décisions relatives aux politiques et aux budgets de leurs communautés, résolvent eux-mêmes les problèmes du quotidien et gèrent collectivement leurs collectivités.
Au cours des 30 dernières années, l'autonomie locale a permis à chaque région de se développer en fonction de ses caractéristiques et de ses besoins spécifiques.
Cela a non seulement amélioré la qualité des services administratifs, mais a également considérablement renforcé la culture de la participation citoyenne.
2025 marked the 30th anniversary of local autonomy in the Republic of Korea. In 1995, with the first national local elections, the system allowing residents to directly elect their local leaders was indeed established.
This marked a departure from a centralized structure and the beginning of genuine grassroots democracy that guarantees the autonomy and participation of local residents.
Grassroots democracy is a practice of democracy where residents directly take part in the decision-making process of policies and budgets in their communities, solving everyday issues themselves and leading their local communities together.
Over the past 30 years, local autonomy has laid the foundation for each region to grow in line with its unique characteristics and needs.
This has not only enhanced the quality of administrative services but also significantly expanded a culture of voluntary civic participation.  

Le 17 octobre 2025, la poste coréenne a mis en circulation un joli timbre (430 won, tirage : 450000), conçu par Ryu, Ji-hyeong, imprimée par Brebner Print (Nouvelle-Zélande) en feuille de 15 timbres, consacré au 30ème anniversaire de l'instauration de ces premières élections locales.
Ce timbre a été utilisé sur l'enveloppe illustrées ci-dessus, avec TAD Premier Jour (daté du 28 octobre 2025) de Nambusan. Merci beaucoup Ji-Ho !
Ce timbre représente la Corée du Sud constituée de fleurs d'Hibiscus syriacus, la fleur nationale. Cette fleur ("mugunghwa" en coréen) apparaît sur l'emblème national et est évoquée dans l'Aegukga, l'hymne national, car elle évoque la persévérance et la détermination des coréens au cours de leur histoire. 
Les principales subdivisions locales en Corée du Sud consistent en 9 provinces dont deux à statut spécial, 6 villes métropolitaines (Busan, Daegu, Incheon, Gwangju, Daejeon, Ulsan) et 2 villes spéciales (Séoul et Sejong). 
Les emblèmes de ces 17 subdivisions figurent dans les marges verticales de la feuille.
On October 17, 2025, the Korean Post issued a beautiful stamp (430 won, print run: 450,000), designed by Ryu Ji-hyeong and printed by Brebner Print (New Zealand) in a sheet of 15 stamps, commemorating the 30th anniversary of these first local elections.
This stamp was used on the illustrated envelope above, with First Day cancellation (dated October 28, 2025) from Nambusan. Thank you so much, Ji-Ho!
The stamp depicts South Korea composed of Hibiscus syriacus flowers, the country's national flower. This flower ("mugunghwa" in Korean) appears on the national emblem and is mentioned in the Aegukga, the national anthem, as it symbolizes the perseverance and determination of Koreans throughout their history.
The main local subdivisions in South Korea consist of nine provinces, two of which have special status, six metropolitan cities (Busan, Daegu, Incheon, Gwangju, Daejeon, and Ulsan), and two special cities (Seoul and Sejong).
The emblems of these 17 subdivisions are featured in the vertical margins of the sheet.  

"Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic Games" stamp on cover from Croatia

Comme cela est le cas depuis les jeux d'Albertville en 1992, la poste croate a émis à nouveau cette année un timbre consacré aux 25èmes jeux olympiques d'hiver, organisés du 6 au 22 février 2026 à Milan et Cortina d'Ampezzo en Italie. 
Ce timbre (1,70€, tirage : 30000) + sa vignette attenante, émis le 6 février 2026, a été utilisé sur la lettre ci-dessous envoyée le 7 avril 2026 depuis la ville de Rijeka. Merci beaucoup Dragan !
Ce timbre, conçu par Dean Roksandić, a été imprimé, comme en 2014, 2018 et 2022, dans un feuillet composé de 9 timbres + 1 vignette (ski de fond).  
J'aime bien le graphisme haut en couleur de ce timbre et marges du feuillet. 
As has been the case since the Albertville Games in 1992, the Croatian Post has once again issued a stamp this year commemorating the 25th Winter Olympic Games, held from February 6 to 22, 2026, in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy.
This stamp (€1.70, print run: 30,000) and its accompanying label, issued on February 6, 2026, has been used on the cover below, sent on April 7, 2026, from Rijeka. Thank you very much, Dragan!
This stamp, designed by Dean Roksandić, was printed, as in 2014, 2018, and 2022, in a sheetlet containing nine stamps and one label (cross-country skiing).
I really love the colorful design of this stamp and the margins of the sheetlet.

A Milano Cortina, l'équipe olympique de Croatie était composée de 14 athlètes (8 femmes, 6 hommes) engagés dans 4 sports (ski alpin, ski de fond, short-track et biathlon).
Comme à PyeongChang en 2018 et Beijing en 2022, la Croatie n'a remporté aucune médaille lors de ces jeux de Milano Cortina...
Depuis sa première participation aux jeux d'Albertville en 1992, la Croatie a remporté un total de 11 médailles olympiques (4 en or) dont 10 en ski alpin, grâce à la famille Kostelić (Janica et Ivica).

"Red Book of the Kyrgyz Republic - Uzun-Akhmat Grape" stamp set on FDC from Kyrgyzstan (KEP)

Série "Livre Rouge de la République kirghize - Raisin Uzun-Akhmat" sur FDC du Kirghizstan (KEP) 

Le 29 décembre 2025, la Kyrgyz Express Post (KEP) a mis en circulation une jolie série (2 timbres) consacrée à un variété de raisin rare, le raisin Uzun-Akhmat, inscrite sur la liste rouge des espèces menacées de la République kirghize ("Livre Rouge").
Le raisin Uzun-Akhmat (Vitis usunachmatica) est une espèce rare et endémique de la flore de la chaîne de hautes montagnes du Tian Shan occidental. Son nom provient de la rivière Uzun-Akhmat, dans la région de Jalal-Abad au Kirghizstan. Il a été inscrit sur la Liste rouge des espèces menacées de la République kirghize en 1981. 
Ces 2 timbres (150 KGS et 300 KGS) figurent sur le FDC officiel ci-dessous (tirage : 300) envoyé depuis Bichkek, la capitale.
On December 29, 2025, the Kyrgyz Express Post (KEP) issued a beautiful series (two stamps) dedicated to a rare grape variety, the Uzun-Akhmat grape, listed on the Kyrgyz Republic's Red List of Threatened Species ("Red Book").
Uzun-Akhmat Grape (Vitis usunachmatica) is a rare, endemic species of the flora of the western Tian Shan mountain range. Its name originates from the Uzun-Akhmat River in the Jalal-Abad region of Kyrgyzstan. It was included in the Kyrgyz Republic Red Data Book in 1981.
These two stamps (150 KGS and 300 KGS) are featured on the official First Day Cover below (print run: 300) sent from Bishkek, the capital.  

Ces 2 timbres (tirage : 5000, conception : Daria Maier à partir de  photographies de Vladislav Ushakov) illustrent des grappes de raisin Uzun-Akhmat à différents stades de maturité, vert (300 KGS) et noir (150 KG).
Cette plante est une liane vivace pouvant atteindre 25 à 30 mètres de long. Ses grandes feuilles présentent des nervures bien marquées, et ses grappes produisent de petites baies juteuses d'un violet foncé.
En automne, les raisins Uzun-Akhmat colorent les gorges des rivières de montagne de teintes éclatantes, créant des paysages naturels uniques. Malheureusement, l'aire de répartition de cette espèce a considérablement diminué en raison des activités humaines et du défrichement des fourrés naturels. La vigne Uzun-Akhmat nécessite une protection et une étude scientifique approfondie.
These two stamps (print run: 5,000, design: Daria Maier from photographs by Vladislav Ushakov) illustrate bunches of Uzun-Akhmat grapes at different stages of maturity, green (300 KGS) and dark (150 KG). 
This plant is a perennial liana, reaching a length of up to 25–30 meters. Its leaves are large with clearly defined veins, and the clusters produce small but juicy berries of a dark purple color.
In autumn, the Uzun-Akhmat grapes paint the gorges of mountain rivers in bright colors, creating unique natural landscapes. Unfortunately, the range of this species has significantly decreased due to human activity and the clearing of natural thickets. The Uzun-Akhmat grape requires protection and careful scientific study.

"70th anniversary of the United Nations" souvenir sheet on cover from Brunei Darussalam

L'Assemblée générale, ayant reçu la communication du Conseil de sécurité, en date du 24 février 1984, recommandant l'admission du Brunei Darussalam a l'Organisation des Nations Unies, décide d'admettre le pays lors d'une séance plénière le 21 septembre 1984.
Conformément à un accord avec le Royaume-Uni, le sultanat de Brunei Darussalam accède en effet à l'indépendance le 1er janvier 1984.
L'adhésion du Brunei Darussalam aux Nations Unies lui a permis de poursuivre et de promouvoir sa politique étrangère au sein des instances multilatérales, notamment en renforçant ses relations et en développant des liens d'amitié avec les pays membres.
De même, le Brunei Darussalam adhère fermement aux valeurs et principes de la Charte des Nations Unies. À cet égard, il réaffirme son soutien indéfectible au rôle essentiel joué par les Nations Unies dans le maintien de la paix et de la sécurité internationales, ainsi qu’à ses efforts pour promouvoir le développement économique et social des États membres. 
The General Assembly, having received the Security Council's communication of 24 February 1984 recommending the admission of Brunei Darussalam to the United Nations, decided to admit the country at a plenary meeting on 21 September 1984.
In accordance with an agreement with the United Kingdom, the Sultanate of Brunei Darussalam indeed gained its independence on 1 January 1984.
Brunei Darussalam's membership in the United Nations has enabled it to pursue and promote its foreign policy within multilateral forums, notably by strengthening its relations and developing ties of friendship with member states.
Likewise, Brunei Darussalam firmly adheres to the values ​​and principles of the Charter of the United Nations. In this regard, it reaffirms its unwavering support for the essential role played by the United Nations in maintaining international peace and security, as well as for its efforts to promote the economic and social development of Member States.  

Comme d'autres administrations postales (une vingtaine), la poste du sultanat de Brunei Darussalam a émis, le 24 octobre 2015 (Journée des Nations Unies), un bloc-feuillet (3 timbres à 0,70 BND) pour commémorer le 70ème anniversaire de la création des Nations Unies. 
Ce bloc-feuillet a été utilisé sur la lettre ci-dessus, envoyée le 31 janvier 2026 depuis la ville de Seria. Merci beaucoup Andy ! 
Le timbre en haut à gauche comporte le logo officiel de ce 70ème anniversaire constitué du nombre "70" (avec l'emblème des Nations Unies à l'intérieur du "0") accompagné du slogan "Une ONU forte pour un monde meilleur", en anglais ici.
Le siège des Nations Unies à New York, avec une série de drapeaux nationaux (dont celui de Brunei Darussalam au premier plan), est présent sur le timbre en bas à droite, le 3ème timbre incluant l'emblème des Nations Unies. 
Pour rappel, 51 pays ont fondé l'Organisation des Nations Unies en 1945 suite à la ratification de la Charte des Nations Unies à San Francisco le le 24 octobre 1945, en faveur de la promotion de la paix et de la construction d'un monde plus juste et plus uni.
Like other postal administrations (around twenty), the Brunei Darussalam Post issued a souvenir sheet (3 stamps at 0.70 BND each) on October 24, 2015 (United Nations Day) to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations.
This souvenir sheet was used on the cover above, sent on January 31, 2026, from the city of Seria. Thank you very much, Andy!
The stamp in the upper left corner features the official 70th anniversary logo, consisting of the number "70" (with the United Nations emblem inside the "0") accompanied by the slogan "Strong UN. Better World.".
The United Nations headquarters in New York, with a series of national flags (including that of Brunei Darussalam in the foreground), is featured on the stamp in the lower right corner, the third stamp featuring the United Nations emblem.
As a reminder, 51 countries founded the United Nations in 1945 following the ratification of the UN Charter in San Francisco on October 24, 1945, in support of promoting peace and building a more just and united world.  

"Global Africa Tech Summit" stamps on FDC from Algeria

Les télécommunications sont devenues un enjeu stratégique de souveraineté pour l'Afrique. Dans un contexte mondial marqué par la compétition technologique, les tensions géopolitiques et une dépendance numérique croissante, l'Afrique doit maîtriser ses réseaux, sécuriser ses infrastructures et protéger ses flux de données.
Le sommet "Global Africa Tech", organisé du 28 au 30 mars 2026 à Alger sous le Haut Patronage du Président de la République et piloté par le Ministère de la Poste et des Télécommunications, offrait une plateforme continentale et institutionnelle pour aligner les politiques publiques, la stratégie d'infrastructure, l'investissement et l'innovation autour d'une vision africaine commune.
Les principaux objectifs de ce sommet : promouvoir la souveraineté numérique et la gouvernance des données, accélérer le développement des infrastructures continentale, favoriser l'harmonisation des politiques entre les nations africaines et faciliter les investissements stratégiques dans la technologie africaine. 
Telecommunications have become a strategic sovereignty issue for Africa. In a global context shaped by technological competition, geopolitical tensions, and increasing digital dependency, Africa must control its networks, secure its infrastructure, and protect its data flows.
Global Africa Tech 2026, organized from March 28 to 30, 2026 in Algiers under the High Patronage of the President of the Republic and led by the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications, provided a continental, institutional platform to align public policy, infrastructure strategy, investment, and innovation around a shared African vision.

Le 28 mars 2026, la poste algérienne a mis en circulation une paire de timbres (25 DZD chacun) quasi identiques (avec mentions en anglais et arabe respectivement) consacrée à ce sommet "Global Africa Tech" à Alger.
Une paire (imprimée en feuille de 10 paires) et un 3ème timbre (avec mentions en arabe) ont été utilisés sur la lettre ci-dessus avec TAD Premier Jour. Merci beaucoup Zine !
Le thème de ce sommet, "Tous les réseaux, Une seule convergence", figure sur ces timbres, conçus par le Ministère de la Poste et des Télécommunications, ainsi qu'une représentation entremêlant le logo du sommet et le mémorial du Martyr, surplombant la ville d'Alger, érigé en 1982 à l'occasion du 20ème anniversaire de l'indépendance de l'Algérie, en mémoire des chahids, les combattants de la guerre d'indépendance algérienne morts pour la libération du pays.
Plus de 5000 participants venus de 45 pays africains ont participé à ce sommet, adoptant une approche holistique des télécommunications, structurée autour de quatre piliers interdépendants de connectivité : infrastructure maritime et sécurité, souveraineté terrestre, connectivité aérienne et spatiale, convergence stratégique (intégration terre-air-mer-espace).

The theme of this summit, "All Networks, One Convergence", appears on these stamps, designed by the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications, along with a design intertwining the summit logo and the Martyr's Memorial, overlooking the city of Algiers. This memorial was erected in 1982 to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Algeria's independence, in memory of the chahids, the fighters of the Algerian War of Independence who died for the liberation of the country.
More than 5,000 participants from 45 African countries took part in this summit, adopting a holistic approach to telecommunications, structured around four interdependent connectivity pillars: maritime infrastructure and security, terrestrial sovereignty, air and space connectivity, strategic convergence (earth-air-sea-space integration).  

EUROPA 2026 (70th anniversary of the EUROPA stamps) stamp on cover from San Marino

L'année 2026 marque le 70ème anniversaire des timbres EUROPA, une initiative philatélique lancée pour renforcer les relations entre les pays européens et promouvoir une paix et une unité durables.
Émis pour la première fois en 1956 par six nations – la Belgique, la France, l'Allemagne, l'Italie, le Luxembourg et les Pays-Bas, membres fondateurs de l'Union européenne – ce programme s'est étendu progressivement à 53 organisations postales participantes.
L'an dernier, le groupe de travail Timbres et Philatélie de PostEurop a organisé un concours interne pour choisir un motif commun sur le thème "70ème anniversaire du timbre EUROPA : Unis par...".
Guidés par des valeurs partagées telles que la communication, l'innovation, la coopération et des racines communes, les membres ont soumis 15 propositions créatives, chacune présentant une vision unique. 
Suite au vote de 50 organisations postales, ce concours a été remporté par la poste finlandaise (Posti), devant la poste de Bosnie-Herzégovine (Sarajevo) et la poste luxembourgeoise.
C'est donc le projet de l'artiste et graphiste Klaus Welp qui figure sur les timbres EUROPA émis en 2026.

Guided by shared values ​​such as communication, innovation, cooperation, and common roots, the members submitted 15 creative proposals, each presenting a unique vision.
Following a vote by 50 postal organizations, the Finnish Post (Posti) won the competition, ahead of the Post of Bosnia & Herzegovina (Sarajevo) and the Post of Luxembourg.
The design by artist and graphic designer Klaus Welp will therefore be featured on the EUROPA stamps issued in 2026.

Le 3 mars 2026, la poste de la République de Saint-Marin a mis en circulation un seul timbre EUROPA reproduisant le dessin conçu par Klaus Welp.
Ce timbre (3,30€, tirage : 20004), imprimé (en France par Cartor Security Printing) en feuille de 12 timbres, a été utilisé sur la lettre ci-dessus envoyée le 2 avril 2026 depuis Saint-Marin, la capitale. Merci beaucoup Salvatore !
Ce timbre EUROPA allie éléments abstraits et symboliques. La ligne pointillée ascendante en diagonale représente à la fois la perforation du timbre et le travail progressif de PostEurop. Les sept points, reliés par une ligne droite, symbolisent soixante-dix ans d'efforts concertés des opérateurs postaux à travers le continent.
Les dégradés et les motifs pointillés en arrière-plan forment une surface harmonieuse et dynamique, reflétant le joyeux mélange de couleurs du drapeau européen et symbolisant l'unité de tous les États membres.
A noter que Saint-Marin a émis son premier timbre EUROPA en 1961 (vue du Mont Titano), sans toutefois reproduire le dessin commun (colombe stylisée par le néerlandais Theo Kurpershoek) choisi cette année-là... 
On March 3, 2026, the postal administration of the Republic of San Marino issued a single EUROPA stamp reproducing the design by Klaus Welp.

This EUROPA stamp combines abstract and symbolic elements. The diagonally ascending dotted line represents both the perforation of a stamp and the progressive work of the PostEurop. The seven dots, connected by a straight line, symbolize seventy years of unified effort by postal operators across the continent.
The blending gradients and dotted patterns in the background form a cohesive and vibrant surface, reflecting the joyful mix of colours from the European flag and symbolizing the unity of all member nations.
