"80th Anniversary of the Liberation of Korea" stamp on FDC from Rep. of Korea

Timbre "80ème anniversaire de la libération de la Corée" sur FDC de Corée du Sud 

2025 marquait le 80ème anniversaire de la libération de la Corée, suite à l'occupation de la péninsule par l'empire du Japon.
Sur place, "Gwangbok" (le mot coréen pour le rétablissement de l'indépendance) revêt une signification bien plus profonde que la simple reconquête d'une nation perdue. Il symbolise l'effort collectif de tout le peuple coréen pour retrouver son nom, sa langue et sa terre d'origine, et commémore le brillant accomplissement que le peuple coréen a finalement réalisé ensemble. 
Le 14 août 2025, la poste coréenne a mis en circulation un timbre (430 won, tirage : 525000), conçu par Shin, Jae-yong et imprimé en feuille de 15  timbres, utilisé sur la lettre ci-dessous, avec TAD de Nambusan du 19 août 2025. Merci beaucoup Ji-Ho !
En 1949, le gouvernement coréen a entrepris la composition d'un chant commémoratif pour le Jour de la Libération. Ce travail a abouti à la création du "Chant du Jour de la Libération", écrit et composé par Jeong In-bo et Yun Yongha en mai 1950. Ce chant exprime toute la palette des émotions liées à la libération, notamment la joie, la tristesse et la détermination.
2025 marked the 80th anniversary of Korea's liberation from the Japanese occupation of the peninsula.
There, "Gwangbok" (the word for the restoration of independence in Korean) holds a far deeper meaning than simply reclaiming a lost nation. It symbolizes the collective effort of the entire Korean people to reclaim their name, language, and homeland, and commemorates the brilliant achievement that the Korean people ultimately accomplished together.
On August 14, 2025, the Korean Post issued a stamp (430 won, print run: 525,000), designed by Shin Jae-yong and printed in sheet of 15, used on the cover below, with postmark from Nambusan dated August 19, 2025. Thank you so much, Ji-Ho!
In 1949, the Korean government undertook the composition of a commemorative song for Liberation Day. This work resulted in the creation of the "Song of Liberation Day", written and composed by Jeong In-bo and Yun Yongha in May 1950. This song expresses the full range of emotions associated with liberation, including joy, sadness, and determination.  

Une partie des vers de ce Chant du Jour de la Libération figure sur ce timbre. La traduction complète de ce chant pourrait être : "Touchons à nouveau la terre. Même l'eau de mer danse. Que faire, mes aînés et mes amis, que j'ai tant désiré revoir ? Ce jour marque quarante ans, une trace brûlante et sanglante. Très longtemps, elle me soutient. Oublierai-je, même en rêve ? Part of the verses from this Song of Liberation Day appear on this stamp. The complete translation of this song could be: "Let's touch the soil once more. Even the sea water dances. What shall I do, my elders and friends, whom I have longed to see? This day marks forty years, a hot, blood-soaked trace. For a long, long time, it supports me. Will I forget, even in my dreams? Will I forget the past? Let's all plant blessings, nurture them well, and grow them so they reach the sky. A sacred light that will bring value to the world will shine from the sky. Let's work hard together, let's work hard together".  

"Beijing 2008 Olympic Games - Mascots" stamp set on cover from China

Série "Jeux olympiques de Beijing 2008 - Mascottes" sur lettre de Chine 

Afin d'annoncer les jeux olympiques d'été organisés à Beijing du 8 au 24 août 2008, la poste chinoise a mis en circulation plusieurs séries de timbres entre 2001 et 2008, dont une (6 timbres), émise le 8 août 2007, illustrant différents sports olympiques pratiqués par les 5 mascottes officielles de ces jeux.
Ces 6 timbres (1,20 yuan, conception : Ma Gang), incluant le logo officiel de ces jeux de Beijing 2008 en haut à gauche, ont été utilisés sur la lettre ci-dessous envoyée le 29 novembre 2025 depuis Beijing. Merci beaucoup Ruinan!
Les Fuwa ("enfant de bonne fortune") sont les mascottes officielles des Jeux olympiques d'été de 2008 à Beijing, dévoilées le 11 novembre 2005, marquant le 1000ème jour précédent l'ouverture de la compétition. 
To promote the Summer Olympics held in Beijing from August 8 to 24, 2008, the Chinese postal administration issued several series of stamps between 2001 and 2008, including one (six stamps) issued on August 8, 2007, depicting various Olympic sports practiced by the five official mascots of the Games.
These six stamps (1.20 yuan, design: Ma Gang), featuring the official logo of the Beijing 2008 Games in the upper left corner, have been used on the cover below, sent on November 29, 2025, from Beijing. Thank you very much, Ruinan!
The Fuwa ("good-luck dolls") were the official mascots of the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, unveiled on November 11, 2005, marking the 1000th day before the opening of the Games.  

Chacune des cinq fuwa représente la couleur d'un des cinq anneaux olympiques et sa coiffe rappelle un élément naturel : Bèibei (plongeon) est une mascotte bleue sous les traits d'un poisson qui représente les sports aquatiques et la mer, Jīngjing (tir et haltérophilie) est une mascotte noire sous les traits d'un panda qui représente les sports de combat et la forêt, Huānhuan (BMX) est une mascotte rouge sous les traits de la flamme olympique qui représente les sports de balles et le feu, Yíngying (saut à la perche) est une mascotte jaune sous les traits d'une antilope du Tibet qui représente l'athlétisme et la terre, Nīni (volley-ball) est une mascotte verte sous les traits d'une hirondelle qui représente la gymnastique et le ciel.
En reprenant la première syllabe de chaque nom de mascotte, on obtient une prononciation proche de "Běijīng huānyíng nǐ", c'est-à-dire "Bienvenue à Beijing".
Each of the five Fuwa represents the color of one of the five Olympic rings, and their headdress evokes a natural element: Bèibei (diving) is a blue mascot in the form of a fish, representing water sports and the sea; Jīngjing (shooting and weightlifting) is a black mascot in the form of a panda, representing combat sports and the forest; Huānhuan (BMX) is a red mascot in the form of the Olympic flame, representing ball sports and fire; Yíngying (pole vault) is a yellow mascot in the form of a Tibetan antelope, representing athletics and the earth; and Nīni (volleyball) is a green mascot in the form of a swallow, representing gymnastics and the sky.
By taking the first syllable of each mascot name, we obtain a pronunciation close to "Běijīng huānyíng nǐ", that is to say "Welcome to Beijing".  

"90 Years of Diplomatic Relations" joint stamp set with Romania, on FDC from Uruguay

Série "90 ans de relations diplomatiques", commune avec la Roumanie, sur FDC d'Uruguay 

Pour célébrer le 90ème anniversaire de l'établissement de relations diplomatiques entre la Roumanie et l'Uruguay, les administrations postales des 2 pays ont mis en circulation, le 5 décembre 2025, une jolie série commune (2 timbres) illustrant des races de chevaux emblématiques, le Lipizzan et le Criollo.
Ces 2 races de chevaux incarnent la tradition, l'adaptabilité, la force et la fidélité, des qualités qui renforcent la coopération entre les deux pays et consolident les liens entre leurs communautés. 
La version uruguayenne de cette série commune (conception : Mary Porto Casas, Mihai Criste, tirage inconnu) a été utilisée sur le FDC ci-dessous (TAD incluant les 2 drapeaux nationaux) envoyé le 14 janvier 2026 depuis Montevideo. Merci beaucoup Jorge !
Ces 2 timbres se-tenant ont été imprimés dans un même feuillet composé de 8 timbres (4 paires).
Le timbre à droite (95 UYU) représente un cheval Lipizzan, une race de type baroque, initialement sélectionnée pour la monarchie des Habsbourg au haras de Lipica en Slovénie. Elle est culturellement liée à l'École espagnole d'équitation de Vienne. 
To celebrate the 90th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Romania and Uruguay, the postal administrations of both countries released a beautiful joint series (two stamps) on December 5, 2025, featuring two emblematic horse breeds: the Lipizzan and the Criollo. 
These two breeds embody tradition, adaptability, strength, and loyalty - qualities that reinforce cooperation between the two countries and strengthen the bonds between their communities.
The Uruguayan version of this joint set (design: Mary Porto Casas, Mihai Criste, unknown print run) was used on the FDC below (postmark including the two national flags) sent on January 14, 2026 from Montevideo. Thank you very much, Jorge!
These two stamps have been printed in a single sheet of eight stamps (four pairs).
The stamp on the right (95 UYU) depicts a Lipizzan horse, a Baroque-type breed originally developed for the Habsburg monarchy at the Lipica stud farm in Slovenia. It is culturally linked to the Spanish Riding School of Vienna.  

Après la formation de la Grande Roumanie, il fut décidé de rétablir le haras de Lipizzans à Sâmbăta de Jos (1920), jetant ainsi les bases de l'élevage et du développement du Lipizzan roumain. Le haras appartient à l'État roumain et est géré par l'Administration nationale des forêts, Romsilva. 
Appartenant à la famille des chevaux à allures nobles, le Lipizzan réunit un ensemble de qualités raffinées : douceur, intelligence, docilité, tempérament vif, élégance et un goût prononcé pour le mouvement et le travail. Associé au dressage de haut niveau, il apparaît dans des démonstrations équestres et des productions cinématographiques. 
Depuis 2022, les traditions d'élevage des chevaux Lipizzan est un bien (défendu par 8 pays dont la Roumanie) inscrit par l'UNESCO sur la Liste représentative du patrimoine culturel immatériel de l'humanité.
Le Criollo (37 UYU), race uruguayenne, descend des premiers chevaux importés dans la Pampa en 1536 par Pedro de Mendoza (lors de la fondation de Buenos Aires). Ils étaient utilisés pour les longs voyages, les travaux agricoles et la chasse. 
Plus de trois siècles plus tard, de nombreux Pur-sang furent introduits en Amérique du Sud, contribuant au développement d'une race caractérisée par son élégance et sa force : le Criollo. Ces chevaux sont actifs, énergiques, agiles, robustes et résistants, et possèdent également courage, loyauté et longévité. Du fait de leurs vastes migrations, cette race de chevaux en liberté a également été influencée par le Lusitanien, un cheval portugais.
A noter également sur ces 2 timbres la présence de fleurs emblématiques des 2 pays : la pivoine (fleur nationale de Roumanie depuis 2022) et le lantanier de Montevideo (Uruguay). 
Following the formation of Greater Romania, it was decided to re-establish the Lipizzan stud farm in Sâmbăta de Jos (1920), thus laying the foundations for the breeding and development of the Romanian Lipizzan. The stud farm belongs to the Romanian state and is managed by the National Forestry Administration, Romsilva.
Belonging to the noble-gaited horse breeds, the Lipizzan brings together a set of refined qualities: gentleness, intelligence, docility, lively temperament, elegance, and an eagerness for movement and work. Associated with high-level dressage, it appears in demonstration shows and in film productions. 
Since 2022, Lipizzan horse breeding traditions have been inscribed by UNESCO on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity (proposed by eight countries, including Romania).
The Criollo (37 UYU), a breed of Uruguay, originates from the first horses brought to the Pampas in 1536 by Pedro de Mendoza (when the foundations of the city of Buenos Aires were laid). They were used for long journeys, farm work, or hunting.
More than three centuries later, many Thoroughbred horses were brought to South America, positively influencing the development of a breed characterised by elegance and strength, known as the Criollo breed. Horses of this breed are active, energetic, agile in movement, sturdy and resilient, and to these qualities they add courage, loyalty, and longevity. Owing to their migration across wide areas, the breed of free-roaming horses was also influenced by Portuguese horses, the Lusitano.
Also noteworthy on these two stamps is the presence of emblematic flowers of both countries: the peony (national flower of Romania since 2022) and Lantana montevidensis (Uruguay). 

"Endemic Birds" souvenir sheet on cover from Myanmar

Bloc-feuillet "Oiseaux Endémiques" sur lettre du Myanmar 

Entre le 9 octobre 2022 et le 1er juin 2023, l'administration postale de le République de l'Union du Myanmar (ex-Birmanie) a émis une série de 9 timbres consacrés à différentes espèces d'oiseaux endémiques.
Le 20 août 2025, ces 9  timbres (200 MMK chacun, conception : Ahmonoo) ont été réémis sous la forme d'un bloc-feuillet (versions dentelée et non dentelée, tirage : 10000), utilisé sur la spectaculaire lettre ci-dessous envoyée en recommandé le 24 novembre 2025 depuis Yangon, capitale économique et plus grande ville du pays (capitale jusqu'en 2006 lorsqu'elle fut remplacée par Naypyidaw par la junte militaire au pouvoir). Merci beaucoup Thein ! 
Between October 9, 2022, and June 1, 2023, the postal administration of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar (formerly Burma) issued a series of nine stamps dedicated to different endemic bird species.
On August 20, 2025, these nine stamps (200 MMK each, design: Ahmonoo) have been reissued as a souvenir sheet (perforated and imperforated versions, print run: 10,000), used on the spectacular cover below, sent by registered mail on November 24, 2025, from Yangon, the economic capital and largest city of the country (the capital until 2006 when it was replaced by Naypyidaw by the ruling military junta). "Vlasta Matoušová - 70th birth anniversary" postmark on cover from Czech Republic

TAD "Vlasta Matoušová - 70ème anniversaire de la naissance" sur lettre de République tchèque 

La peintre, graphiste et illustratrice tchèque Vlasta Matoušová est née à Turnov le 16 juillet 1955. Ses parents, les peintres académiques Ludmila Matoušová et Dalibor Matouš, ont été expulsés du Parti communiste après l'invasion de la Tchécoslovaquie par le Pacte de Varsovie en 1968. Ils n'étaient pas autorisés à exposer ou à vendre leurs œuvres.
Après avoir étudié à l'École secondaire des arts et métiers de Železný Brod, Vlasta Matoušová a postulé pour étudier à l'université, mais n'a pas été acceptée pour des raisons politiques. Elle se consacre principalement à la représentation artistique du règne microscopique des insectes, ce qui rend son art unique tout au long de sa carrière.
Elle réalise sa première exposition en 1976 dans les couloirs de l'Institut de Microbiologie de Prague. Elle a illustré l'important ouvrage de vulgarisation scientifique du biologiste Václav Větvička, "Arbres et arbustes", qui a été traduit en huit langues.
Czech painter, graphic artist, and illustrator Vlasta Matoušová was born in Turnov on July 16, 1955. Her parents, academic painters Ludmila Matoušová and Dalibor Matouš, were expelled from the Communist Party after the Warsaw Pact invasion of Czechoslovakia in 1968. They were forbidden from exhibiting or selling their work.
After attending the Železný Brod Secondary School of Arts and Crafts, Vlasta Matoušová applied to university but was rejected for political reasons. She primarily focuses on the artistic representation of the microscopic insect kingdom, a characteristic that has defined her art throughout her career.
She held her first exhibition in 1976 in the halls of the Institute of Microbiology in Prague. She illustrated the important popular science book by biologist Václav Větvička, "Trees and Shrubs", which has been translated into eight languages.  

Le 16 juillet 2025, la poste tchèque a mis en circulation un TAD spécial (palette de peintre ornée de roses) consacré au 70ème anniversaire (jour pour jour) de la naissance de Vlasta Matoušová.

Slavek a utilisé 2 timbres identiques (25 CZK), conçus par Vlasta Matoušová (et gravés par Miloš Ondráček), émis le 15 juin 2011 à l'occasion du Championnat d'Europe d'art floral (Europa Cup 2011) organisé alors pour la première fois en République tchèque, dans la ville de Havířov.
Cette coupe d'Europe d'art floral est organisée par FLORINT, l'organisation internationale des fleuristes, créée en 1956. 24 pays européens étaient représentés lors de cette compétition florale avec des épreuves ayant pour thèmes : l'histoire de la ville organisatrice et l'histoire de la musique tchèque, les liens historiques entre Havířov et le charbon et les fleurs, le 170ème anniversaire de naissance du compositeur tchèque Antonín Dvořák, la mode... 
On July 16, 2025, the Czech Post issued a special postmark (Painter's palette adorned with roses) commemorating the 70th anniversary (to the day) of Vlasta Matoušová's birth.
This postmark (design: Pavel Sivko) was applied by the Prague 1 post office to the cover above. Thank you very much, Slavek!
Slavek used two identical stamps (25 CZK), designed by Vlasta Matoušová (and engraved by Miloš Ondráček), issued on June 15, 2011, for the European Floral Art Championship (Europa Cup 2011), which was then being held for the first time in Czech Republic, in the town of Havířov.
This European floral art cup is organised by FLORINT, the international florists' organisation, founded in 1956. 24 European countries were represented at this floral competition, with events themed around: the history of the host city and the history of Czech music, the historical links between Havířov and coal and flowers, the 170th anniversary of the birth of the Czech composer Antonín Dvořák, fashion...  

"80th anniversary of the United Nations" stamp set on cover from United Arab Emirates

Série "80ème anniversaire des Nations Unies" sur lettre des Émirats Arabes Unis 

De nombreuses administrations postales (Wallis-et-Futuna, Tunisie, Slovénie, Saint-Marin, Kazakhstan, Moldavie, Nations Unies, Philippines, Namibie, Inde, Émirats Arabes Unis, Belarus, Maroc, Serbie, Monaco, Pérou, Slovaquie, Pakistan, Algérie...) ont émis des timbres en 2025 consacrés au 80ème anniversaire de la création des Nations Unies, reproduisant le logo officiel de cet anniversaire (pour certaines) et parfois son slogan associé, "Construisons notre avenir ensemble". 
Pour rappel, 51 pays ont fondé l'Organisation des Nations Unies en 1945 suite à la ratification de la Charte des Nations Unies à San Francisco le le 24 octobre 1945.
Le 9 septembre 2025, la poste des Émirats Arabes Unis a mis en circulation une série (2 timbres) consacrée à ce 80ème anniversaire des Nations Unies.
Ces 2 timbres se-tenant (3 AED chacun), imprimés dans un feuillet composé de 4 timbres (2 paires), ont été utilisés sur la lettre ci-dessous envoyée le 11 novembre 2025 depuis Dubaï. Merci beaucoup Mohammed !

These stamps reproduced the official anniversary logo (for some) and sometimes its associated slogan, "Building our future together."
As a reminder, 51 countries founded the United Nations in 1945 following the ratification of the UN Charter in San Francisco on October 24, 1945.
On September 9, 2025, the United Arab Emirates postal service issued a set of two stamps commemorating the 80th anniversary of the United Nations.

These two stamps simply reproduce the official logo for this 80th anniversary, on a blue and white background, the colors of the United Nations flag.
Since joining the UN on 9 December 1971, the United Arab Emirates has been an active partner in advancing the Charter’s principles, championing humanitarian aid, climate action and sustainable development while serving on the Security Council (in 1986 and 2003) and other key bodies.
Today, the UN has 193 member states. Its main organs are the General Assembly, the Security Council, the Economic and Social Council, the Trusteeship Council, the International Court of Justice, and the Secretariat, headed by the Secretary-General.
Mohammed completed his postage with two identical stamps from a definitive series that began in 2007, depicting a stylized falcon, one of the symbols of this country. This stamp (1.50 AED) was reissued on April 7, 2013.  

"Unique Marine Life" joint s/s with Malaysia, on cover from Brunei Darussalam

Bloc-feuillet "Vie marine unique", commun avec la Malaisie, sur lettre de Brunei Darussalam 

Le sultanat de Brunei Darussalam et la Fédération de Malaisie ont établi des relations diplomatiques en 1984. 
Les deux pays, partageant une frontière terrestre au nord de l'île de Bornéo (Brunei étant bordé par la mer de Chine méridionale et totalement enclavé dans l'état malaisien de Sarawak), sont membres à part entière de l'ASEAN et du Commonwealth. Ils entretiennent d'excellentes et étroites relations économiques, culturelles, politiques et de défense.
Le 6 février 2007, les administrations postales des 2 pays ont mis en circulation une série commune (2 timbres + 1 bloc-feuillet) consacrée à différents spécimens de la vie marine unique partagée par chaque état.
A noter que cette série commune devait initialement être émise en 2006 (c'est cette année qui a été imprimée sur les timbres et blocs-feuillets). 
The Sultanate of Brunei Darussalam and the Federation of Malaysia established diplomatic relations in 1984.
The two countries, sharing a land border in the north of the island of Borneo (Brunei being bordered by the South China Sea and entirely surrounded by the Malaysian state of Sarawak), are full members of ASEAN and the Commonwealth. They maintain excellent and close economic, cultural, political, and defense relations.
On February 6, 2007, the postal administrations of both countries issued a joint series (two stamps and one souvenir sheet) featuring various specimens of the unique marine life shared by each state.
It should be noted that this joint series was initially intended for release in 2006 (the year which was printed on the stamps and souvenir sheets).  

Ce bloc-feuillet commun émis par Brunei Darussalam, constitué de 2 timbres (1 BND chacun, tirage inconnu), a été utilisé sur la lettre ci-dessus, envoyée le 13 décembre 2025 depuis la ville de Seria. Merci beaucoup Andy !
Le timbre à gauche est consacré à une espèce de nautile (céphalopode marin), Nautilus pompilius, l'espèce de nautile la plus répandue et la plus grande actuellement. Les nautiles sont des mollusques céphalopodes aux caractéristiques particulières, pourvus d'une coquille spiralée. Ils mesurent de 15 à 24 cm. L'autre timbre représente un poisson coffre pintade (Ostracion meleagris), poisson typique des récifs coralliens de l'Indo-Pacifique. Son nom provient de ses multiples taches blanches à jaunâtres ressemblant a une pintade. C'est un poisson à l'allure caractéristique, aux angles très marqués et à la section trapézoïdale. Il mesure jusqu'à 25 cm de long. Le mâle a le dos noir constellé de points blancs, et les flancs bleus constellés de taches jaune vif cerclées de noir.

The stamp on the left features a species of chambered nautilus (a marine cephalopod), Nautilus pompilius, the most widespread and largest nautilus species currently in existence. Nautiluses are cephalopod mollusks with distinctive characteristics, possessing a spiral shell. They measure 15 to 24 cm in length. Their numerous tentacles (approximately 90) do not have suckers.
The other stamp depicts a spotted boxfish (Ostracion meleagris), a fish typical of the coral reefs of the Indo-Pacific. It is a fish with a distinctive appearance, very pronounced angles, and a trapezoidal cross-section. It measures up to 25 cm in length. The male has a black back speckled with white spots, and blue flanks speckled with bright yellow spots ringed in black.
