L'année 2026 marque le 70ème anniversaire des timbres EUROPA, une initiative philatélique lancée pour renforcer les relations entre les pays européens et promouvoir une paix et une unité durables.
Émis pour la première fois en 1956 par six nations – la Belgique, la France, l'Allemagne, l'Italie, le Luxembourg et les Pays-Bas, membres fondateurs de l'Union européenne – ce programme s'est étendu progressivement à 53 organisations postales participantes.
L'an dernier, le groupe de travail Timbres et Philatélie de PostEurop a organisé un concours interne pour choisir un motif commun sur le thème "70ème anniversaire du timbre EUROPA : Unis par...".
Guidés par des valeurs partagées telles que la communication, l'innovation, la coopération et des racines communes, les membres ont soumis 15 propositions créatives, chacune présentant une vision unique. 
Suite au vote de 50 organisations postales, ce concours a été remporté par la poste finlandaise (Posti), devant la poste de Bosnie-Herzégovine (Sarajevo) et la poste luxembourgeoise.
C'est donc le projet de l'artiste et graphiste Klaus Welp qui figure sur les timbres EUROPA émis en 2026. 
The year 2026 marks the 70th anniversary of the EUROPA stamps, a philatelic initiative launched to strengthen relations between European countries and promote lasting peace and unity.
First issued in 1956 by six nations – Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, and the Netherlands, founding members of the European Union – this program has gradually expanded to include 53 participating postal organizations.
Last year, PostEurop's Stamps and Philately Working Group organized an internal competition to choose a common design on the theme "70th Anniversary of the EUROPA Stamp: United by...".
Guided by shared values ​​such as communication, innovation, cooperation, and common roots, the members submitted 15 creative proposals, each presenting a unique vision.
Following a vote by 50 postal organizations, the Finnish Post (Posti) won the competition, ahead of the Post of Bosnia & Herzegovina (Sarajevo) and the Post of Luxembourg.
The design by artist and graphic designer Klaus Welp will therefore be featured on the EUROPA stamps issued in 2026.

Le 7 mai 2026, la poste serbe a mis en circulation une série (2 timbres) consacrée à ce thème du 70ème anniversaire des timbres EUROPA, incluant tous les deux le logo EUROPA, celui reproduisant le projet de Klaus Welp (160 RSD, tirage : 15000) et celui reproduisant le projet serbe pour ce concours (67 RSD, tirage : 15000). 
Ces 2 timbres, imprimés chacun dans un feuillet composé de 8 timbres + 1 vignette centrale (colombes en vol), ont été utilisés sur la lettre ci-dessus (avec vignettes attenantes) envoyée le 27 mai 2026 depuis Novi Sad. Merci beaucoup Dusan!
Le timbre EUROPA commun allie éléments abstraits et symboliques. La ligne pointillée ascendante en diagonale représente à la fois la perforation du timbre et le travail progressif de PostEurop. Les sept points, reliés par une ligne droite, symbolisent soixante-dix ans d'efforts concertés des opérateurs postaux à travers le continent.
Les dégradés et les motifs pointillés en arrière-plan forment une surface harmonieuse et dynamique, reflétant le joyeux mélange de couleurs du drapeau européen et symbolisant l'unité de tous les États membres. 
L'autre timbre (conception : Jakša Vlahović) représente symboliquement un homme et une femme dont les silhouettes dessinent la forme d'une colombe – messagère porteuse de paroles et de paix. Il symbolise la coopération harmonieuse entre les nations européennes, œuvrant pour la paix et la prospérité de l'humanité.
A noter que la Yougoslavie a émis ses premiers timbres EUROPA en 1969 (motif commun représentant un temple antique dont les mots Europa et CEPT forment les colonnes), puis la Serbie-et-Monténégro entre 2003 et 2006 puis la Serbie à partir de 2007 (100 ans du scoutisme). 
On May 7, 2026, the Serbian Post issued a two-stamp series dedicated to this 70th anniversary of the EUROPA stamps. Both feature the EUROPA logo: one reproduces Klaus Welp's design (160 RSD, print run: 15,000), while the other features the Serbian entry for this competition (67 RSD, print run: 15,000).
These two stamps - each printed in a sheetlet of eight stamps plus a central label (depicting doves in flight) - have been used on the cover above (with attached labels), sent from Novi Sad on May 27, 2026. Many thanks, Dusan!
The common EUROPA stamp combines abstract and symbolic elements. The diagonally ascending dotted line represents both the perforation of a stamp and the progressive work of the PostEurop. The seven dots, connected by a straight line, symbolize seventy years of unified effort by postal operators across the continent.
The blending gradients and dotted patterns in the background form a cohesive and vibrant surface, reflecting the joyful mix of colours from the European flag and symbolizing the unity of all member nations. 
The other stamp (designed by Jakša Vlahović) symbolically depicts a man and a woman whose silhouettes form the shape of a dove - a messenger bearing words and peace. It symbolizes harmonious cooperation among European nations working toward peace and prosperity for humanity.
It is worth noting that Yugoslavia issued its first EUROPA stamps in 1969 (featuring a common design of an ancient temple where the words "Europa" and "CEPT" form the columns), followed by Serbia and Montenegro between 2003 and 2006, and then Serbia starting in 2007 (100 years of Scouting).

La 17ème édition du Championnat d'Europe de football ("UEFA EURO 2024") s'est déroulée en Allemagne du 14 juin au 14 juillet 2024, jour de la finale qui a opposé l'Espagne à l'Angleterre (victoire de l'Espagne 2-1).
Pour la première fois depuis la réunification, l'Allemagne accueillait cette compétition. Dans les dix villes hôtes de Berlin, Dortmund, Düsseldorf, Francfort, Gelsenkirchen, Hambourg, Cologne, Leipzig, Munich et Stuttgart, 24 équipes nationales se sont affrontées pour remporter le Trophée Henri Delaunay, représenté à droite sur le timbre albanais mis en circulation le 20 février 2026, 2 ans après cette compétition...

The 17th edition of the European Football Championship ("UEFA EURO 2024") took place in Germany from June 14 to July 14, 2024—the day of the final match between Spain and England (won 2–1 by Spain).
Germany hosted the tournament for the first time since reunification. Across ten host cities—Berlin, Dortmund, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Gelsenkirchen, Hamburg, Cologne, Leipzig, Munich, and Stuttgart—24 national teams competed for the Henri Delaunay Trophy, depicted on the right side of the Albanian stamp issued on February 20, 2026, two years after the tournament...

Le stade olympique de Berlin où la finale a eu lieu, est illustré sur cette enveloppe avec également un logo à gauche (différent du logo officiel de cet EURO 2024) composé du Trophée Henri Delaunay et de 16 drapeaux (dont celui de l'Albanie) parmi les 24 pays participants.
Pour la 2ème fois de son histoire (après 2016 en France), l'équipe nationale d'Albanie était qualifiée pour cette compétition.
Lors de cet EURO, l'Albanie n'a malheureusement pas réussi à se qualifier pour les huitièmes de finale, terminant à la 4ème place d'un groupe très relevé avec l'Espagne, la Croatie et l'Italie.
D'autres administrations postales ont émis des timbres consacrés à cet EURO 2024 : Allemagne, Monaco, Roumanie, Ukraine, Géorgie, Azerbaïdjan, Arménie, Chypre du Nord.
La prochaine édition de cet EURO aura lieu en 2028 au Royaume-Uni et en Irlande. 
The Berlin Olympic Stadium, where the final took place, is featured on this envelope, alongside a logo on the left (distinct from the official EURO 2024 logo) featuring the Henri Delaunay Trophy and 16 flags—including Albania's—among the 24 participating nations.
For the second time in its history (after 2016 in France), the Albanian national team had qualified for this competition.
During this EURO, Albania unfortunately failed to qualify for the round of 16, finishing fourth in a very tough group with Spain, Croatia, and Italy.
Other postal administrations also issued stamps dedicated to this EURO 2024: Germany, Monaco, Romania, Ukraine, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Northern Cyprus.
The next edition of the EURO will take place in 2028 in the United Kingdom and Ireland.

Le 10 avril 2026, la poste arménienne a mis en circulation un timbre EUROPA unique reproduisant le dessin conçu par Klaus Welp.
Ce timbre (400 AMD, tirage : 15000), imprimé en feuillet de 10 timbres (en Belgique par bpost Philately & Stamps Printing), a été utilisé en 2 exemplaires sur la lettre ci-dessus envoyée en recommandé le 20 avril 2026 depuis Erevan. Merci beaucoup Sedrak !

On April 10, 2026, the Armenian Post issued a unique EUROPA stamp reproducing the design by Klaus Welp.

President Hilda Heine and WWII American aircraft stamps on cover from the Marshall Islands

Présidente Hilda Heine et avion américain de la 2ème Guerre mondiale sur lettre des îles Marshall 

La République des îles Marshall est un état de Micronésie (39000 habitants), constitué de 30 atolls et d'environ 1100 îles, indépendant de fait depuis 1990 même si le pays a signé un accord d'association libre avec le gouvernement américain.
Les deux tiers de la population du pays vivent sur l'atoll Majuro, où se trouve la capitale, et sur Ebeye.
Cet archipel s'est fait connaître du monde entier comme site d'essais nucléaires atmosphériques des États-Unis dans les années 1940 et 1950.
Ces îles ont d'abord utilisé des timbres allemands en 1888, avant que des timbres allemands surchargés pour les îles Marshall ne soient mis en circulation en 1897 (les timbres des îles Marshall allemandes étaient également valables à Nauru).
Après la Première Guerre mondiale, dans le cadre du régime de mandat, des timbres japonais ont été utilisés de 1914 à 1944. En 1947, les îles ont été intégrées au Territoire sous tutelle des îles du Pacifique (sous administration des Nations unies) et ont utilisé des timbres américains jusqu'en 1984. 
The Republic of the Marshall Islands is a Micronesian state (population 39,000) comprising 30 atolls and approximately 1,100 islands; it has been de facto independent since 1990, despite having signed a Compact of Free Association with the U.S. government.
Two-thirds of the country's population lives on Majuro Atoll - home to the capital - and on Ebeye.
The archipelago became known worldwide as a site for U.S. atmospheric nuclear testing during the 1940s and 1950s.
German stamps were initially used in the islands starting in 1888, followed by the introduction of German stamps overprinted for the Marshall Islands in 1897 (stamps issued for the German Marshall Islands were also valid for use in Nauru).
Following World War I, under the mandate system, Japanese stamps were used from 1914 to 1944. In 1947, the islands were incorporated into the Trust Territory of the Pacific Islands (administered by the United Nations) and used U.S. stamps until 1984.  

Depuis 1984, les îles Marshall mettent en circulation leurs propres timbres, constituant souvent des émissions dites abusives, sans lien direct avec l'histoire ou la culture du pays (membres de la famille royale britannique, Elvis Presley, élections présidentielles américaines...).
Je suis heureux d'évoquer pour la première fois ce pays lointain à travers la lettre ci-dessus, envoyée le 28 mai 2026 depuis Majuro, ayant transité par Honolulu (Hawaï) le 1er juin 2026.
Le timbre à droite (1 USD), émis en feuillet de 4 timbres en 2025 (date précise inconnue), reproduit le portrait officiel de la présidente actuelle (depuis 2024) des îles Marshall, Hilda Heine (née en 1951).
Déjà présidente entre 2016 et 2020, Hilda Heine est la première femme élue (par le parlement) à la tête du pays et la première femme présidente d'un État océanien.
L'autre timbre (0,83 USD) fait partie d'un autre feuillet (6 timbres) émis en 2024 (date précise inconnue), illustrant différents avions militaires (3 avions allemands et 3 avions américains) utilisés pendant la 2ème Guerre mondiale.
Le timbre ci-dessus montre en particulier un P-51 Mustang, un avion de chasse américain exploité entre 1942 et 1957. Il a été utilisé comme avion d'escorte par les États-Unis pour accompagner leurs grands raids de bombardiers stratégiques de jour au-dessus de l'Allemagne. 
Since 1984, the Marshall Islands have issued their own stamps - often considered "abusive issues" - that bear no direct relation to the country's history or culture (featuring subjects such as the British royal family, Elvis Presley, or US presidential elections).
I'm pleased to discuss this distant country for the first time through the cover above, which was mailed from Majuro on May 28, 2026, and routed via Honolulu (Hawaii) on June 1, 2026.
The stamp on the right ($1.00), issued in a sheetlet of four in 2025 (exact date unknown), features the official portrait of the current President of the Marshall Islands, Hilda Heine (born in 1951), who has held office since 2024.
Having previously served as president from 2016 to 2020, Hilda Heine is the first woman elected (by parliament) to lead the country and the first female president of an Oceanian state.
The other stamp ($0.83) comes from an other sheetlet (containing six stamps) issued in 2024 (exact date unknown); this series depicts various military aircraft - three German and three American - used during World War II.
Specifically, the stamp above features a P-51 Mustang, an American fighter aircraft operated between 1942 and 1957. It was used by the United States as an escort aircraft to accompany major daylight strategic bomber raids over Germany.  

"100 Years of the FIP - Fédération Internationale de Philatélie" s/s on FDC from Cyprus

La Fédération Internationale de Philatélie (FIP) a été créée le 18 juin 1926 à Paris par les représentants de 6 pays : Allemagne, Autriche, Belgique, France, Pays-Bas et Suisse.
Dès le début, la FIP a œuvré pour promouvoir la collection de timbres et la philatélie, favoriser l'amitié entre les peuples, entretenir des liens avec le secteur philatélique et les administrations postales, et soutenir les expositions philatéliques par son patronage et sa reconnaissance.
Aujourd’hui, la FIP regroupe 90 fédérations nationales avec lesquelles elle organise des conférences, des séminaires pour les futurs jurés lors de ses expositions et structure l'évolution de la façon de collectionner et d'exposer en introduisant de nouvelles classes de compétition.
Enfin, elle parraine et co-organise avec les fédérations nationales les expositions mondiales (générales et spécialisées) qui sont de véritable "jeux olympiques" de la philatélie.  
The Fédération Internationale de Philatélie (FIP - International Federation of Philately) was founded on June 18, 1926, in Paris by representatives from six countries: Germany, Austria, Belgium, France, the Netherlands, and Switzerland. 
From the outset, the FIP has worked to promote stamp collecting and philately, foster friendship among nations, maintain ties with the philatelic sector and postal administrations, and support philatelic exhibitions through its patronage and recognition.
Today, the FIP brings together 90 national federations; with them, it organizes conferences and seminars for aspiring jurors during its exhibitions and shapes the evolution of collecting and exhibiting practices by introducing new competitive classes.
Finally, it sponsors and co-organizes—alongside national federations—world exhibitions (both general and specialized) that serve as the true "Olympic Games" of philately.  

La FIP célèbre donc le 100ème anniversaire de sa création en 2026 et un certain nombre d'administrations postales ont émis ou vont émettre des timbres sur ce thème, la plupart en reproduisant le logo officiel de ces 100 ans : Belarus, Monaco, République dominicaine, Serbie, Thaïlande, Bulgarie, Russie, Slovénie, Roumanie, Brésil, Uruguay, Israël, Chypre, Jordanie, Pakistan, Espagne, Bosnie-Herzégovine (Sarajevo), Émirats Arabes Unis, Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon, Grèce...
Le 11 mai 2026, la poste de Chypre a mis en circulation un bloc-feuillet numéroté (1€, tirage : 10000, conception : Prodromos Apostolou) sur ce thème, présent sur le FDC officiel ci-dessus (tirage : 3500).
L'emblème de la FIP associé au logo de ce 100ème anniversaire sont reproduits sur le timbre, une loupe devant un timbre stylisé en bas à droite rappelle que le principal objectif de la FIP est d'encourager le développement de la collection de timbres. 
La Société Philatélique de Chypre est membre de la FIP depuis 1987.

On May 11, 2026, Cyprus Post released a numbered souvenir sheet (€1.00, print run: 10,000; design: Prodromos Apostolou) on this theme; it appears on the official First Day Cover above (print run: 3,500).
The stamp features both the FIP emblem and the 100th-anniversary logo; a magnifying glass positioned over a stylized stamp in the bottom right corner highlights the FIP's primary objective: encouraging the development of stamp collecting.
The Cyprus Philatelic Society has been a member of the FIP since 1987.

On May 20, 2026, the Isle of Man Post issued a EUROPA series (5 stamps) dedicated to the 70th anniversary of EUROPA stamps, including one featuring Klaus Welp’s design (£2.63).
Two copies of this EUROPA stamp appear on the official First Day Cover above, bearing the Douglas postmark.
This common EUROPA stamp combines abstract and symbolic elements. The diagonally ascending dotted line represents both the perforation of a stamp and the progressive work of the PostEurop. The seven dots, connected by a straight line, symbolize seventy years of unified effort by postal operators across the continent.
The blending gradients and dotted patterns in the background form a cohesive and vibrant surface, reflecting the joyful mix of colours from the European flag and symbolizing the unity of all member nations. 
It is worth noting that the other four stamps in this series were based on Isle of Man EUROPA stamps originally issued in 1976, 1990, 1999, and 2017, respectively.
Also of note is that Isle of Man Post issued its first EUROPA stamps in 1976 (50 years ago - an anniversary also marked on the envelope above), featuring the theme of handicrafts.

Le 28 mars 2026, Sa Sainteté le pape Léon XIV a effectué une visite apostolique en Principauté de Monaco pour une journée ponctuée de temps officiels et spirituels.
Un voyage qui a constitué un moment majeur dans l'histoire de Monaco. Si le Pape Paul III avait été reçu sur le Rocher en 1538, la visite du 28 mars 2026 est le premier voyage apostolique d'un pape à Monaco à l'époque contemporaine.
Lors de cette journée historique, le pape a été reçu en audience au palais princier par le Prince Albert II et la Princesse Charlène avant de s'adresser à la population rassemblée sur la Place du Palais. 
Le souverain pontife s'est ensuite rendu à la cathédrale de Monaco pour une rencontre avec la communauté catholique, puis à l'église Sainte-Dévote pour un échange avec les jeunes, suivie d'une rencontre avec les catéchumènes.
La journée s'est conclue par une messe ouverte au public au Stade Louis-II, en présence de la famille princière, des autorités civiles et religieuses et de nombreux fidèles.

The visit was a landmark event in Monaco's history. While Pope Paul III had been received on the Rock in 1538, the visit on March 28, 2026, marked the first apostolic visit by a pope to Monaco in modern times.
During this historic day, the Pope was received in audience at the Prince's Palace by Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene before addressing the crowd gathered in the Palace Square.
The Sovereign Pontiff then visited Monaco Cathedral to meet with the Catholic community, followed by a visit to the Church of Saint Devota for an exchange with young people and a meeting with catechumens.
The day concluded with a public Mass at the Stade Louis II, attended by the Princely Family, civil and religious authorities, and numerous faithful.  

Le 28 mars 2026, l'Office des Timbres de Monaco a mis en circulation un timbre consacré à cette visite historique du pape Léon XIV en principauté.
Ce timbre (2,25€, tirage : 42000), conçu à partir d'une photo du pape (Vatican Media) et imprimé en feuillet de 10 timbres, figure sur le FDC officiel ci-dessus.
A noter l'illustration spéciale sur cette enveloppe, incluant les armoiries de Monaco et le blason du pape Léon XIV (également reproduit sur le TAD).

Pas de mariage autorisé non plus pour les personnes de même sexe même si Monaco reconnaît l'union civile des couples homosexuels depuis 2019.
On March 28, 2026, the Monaco Stamp Office issued a stamp commemorating this historic visit of Pope Leo XIV to the Principality.
This stamp (€2.25, print run: 42,000), designed using a photograph of the Pope (Vatican Media) and printed in a sheetlet of ten, was used on the official First Day Cover above.
Of particular note is the special illustration on the envelope, which features the coat of arms of Monaco and the personal coat of arms of Pope Leo XIV (also reproduced on the cancellation).
As a sovereign state with the Roman Catholic, Apostolic, and Roman religion enshrined in its Constitution, the Principality of Monaco draws a fundamental element of its identity, unity, and institutional continuity from this spiritual heritage.
In late 2025, Prince Albert II expressed his opposition to the legalization of abortion, six months after the adoption of a legislative proposal that sought to authorize voluntary termination of pregnancy up to twelve weeks—extending to sixteen weeks in cases of rape.
Same-sex marriage is not permitted either, although Monaco has recognized civil unions for same-sex couples since 2019.

L'année 2026 marque le 70ème anniversaire des timbres EUROPA, une initiative philatélique lancée pour renforcer les relations entre les pays européens et promouvoir une paix et une unité durables.
Émis pour la première fois en 1956 par six nations – la Belgique, la France, l'Allemagne, l'Italie, le Luxembourg et les Pays-Bas, membres fondateurs de l'Union européenne – ce programme s'est étendu progressivement à 53 organisations postales participantes.
L'an dernier, le groupe de travail Timbres et Philatélie de PostEurop a organisé un concours interne pour choisir un motif commun sur le thème "70ème anniversaire du timbre EUROPA : Unis par...".
Guidés par des valeurs partagées telles que la communication, l'innovation, la coopération et des racines communes, les membres ont soumis 15 propositions créatives, chacune présentant une vision unique. 
Suite au vote de 50 organisations postales, ce concours a été remporté par la poste finlandaise (Posti), devant la poste de Bosnie-Herzégovine (Sarajevo) et la poste luxembourgeoise.
C'est donc le projet de l'artiste et graphiste Klaus Welp qui figure sur les timbres EUROPA émis en 2026.

Last year, PostEurop's Stamps and Philately Working Group organized an internal competition to choose a common design on the theme "70th Anniversary of the EUROPA Stamp: United by...".
Guided by shared values ​​such as communication, innovation, cooperation, and common roots, the members submitted 15 creative proposals, each presenting a unique vision.
Following a vote by 50 postal organizations, the Finnish Post (Posti) won the competition, ahead of the Post of Bosnia & Herzegovina (Sarajevo) and the Post of Luxembourg.
The design by artist and graphic designer Klaus Welp will therefore be featured on the EUROPA stamps issued in 2026. 

Le 8 mai 2026, la poste slovène a mis en circulation une série (2 timbres) consacrée à ce thème du 70ème anniversaire des timbres EUROPA, incluant tous les deux le logo EUROPA, celui reproduisant le projet de Klaus Welp (tarif "D" pour un envoi ordinaire international 1ère classe - 2,21€ actuellement, tirage : 23000) et celui reproduisant le projet slovène pour ce concours (tarif "C" pour un envoi standard international - 1,96€ actuellement, tirage : 23000). 
Ces 2 timbres, imprimés chacun dans un même feuillet composé de 8 timbres + 1 vignette centrale, ont été utilisés sur la lettre ci-dessus envoyée le 20 mai 2026 depuis la ville de Kranj. Merci beaucoup Petra!
Le timbre EUROPA commun allie éléments abstraits et symboliques. La ligne pointillée ascendante en diagonale représente à la fois la perforation du timbre et le travail progressif de PostEurop. Les sept points, reliés par une ligne droite, symbolisent soixante-dix ans d'efforts concertés des opérateurs postaux à travers le continent.
Les dégradés et les motifs pointillés en arrière-plan forment une surface harmonieuse et dynamique, reflétant le joyeux mélange de couleurs du drapeau européen et symbolisant l'unité de tous les États membres. 
L'autre timbre (conception : Natalia Berezina) représente un arbre caractéristique de tous les pays européens, tout en figurant une communauté de feuilles qui, malgré leurs couleurs et leurs tailles variées, forment un arbre harmonieux et coloré baptisé "Europe".
A noter que la Slovénie a mis en circulation ses premiers timbres EUROPA en 1993 (Art contemporain).
On May 8, 2026, the Slovenian Post issued a two-stamp series dedicated to this 70th anniversary of the EUROPA stamps. Both stamps feature the EUROPA logo: one reproduces the design by Klaus Welp (rate "D" for ordinary international first-class mail - currently €2.21, print run: 23,000), while the other features the Slovenian entry for this competition (rate "C" for standard international mail - currently €1.96, print run: 23,000).

"Spiders of Kyrgyzstan" stamp set on FDC from Kyrgyzstan (KEP)

Les araignées constituent l'ordre central du sous-phylum des Chélicérates, au sein du phylum des Arthropodes. Elles sont répandues à travers le monde, y compris au Kirghizstan, où elles vivent dans des environnements variés, allant des déserts de sable aux grottes et aux lacs, en passant par la canopée des forêts et les moraines rocheuses proches des glaciers.
La grande majorité des araignées sont des prédateurs actifs, chassant principalement des invertébrés et utilisant un système de digestion externe. Nombre d'entre elles capturent leurs proies à l'aide de toiles collantes, tandis que d'autres types de soie servent à leur dispersion aérienne passive.
Environ 650 espèces d’araignées appartenant à 28 familles vivent sur le territoire de la République kirghize.
Le 29 décembre 2025, la Kyrgyz Express Post (KEP), le 2ème opérateur postal désigné (l'autre étant la poste kirghize) du Kirghizstan, a mis en circulation une jolie série (3 timbres) consacrée à certaines de ces araignées présentes au Kirghizistan.
Ces 3 timbres (tirage : 7500 chacun) figurent sur le FDC officiel ci-dessous (tirage : 400) envoyé depuis Bichkek, la capitale.  
Spiders are the central order of the subphylum Chelicerata within the phylum of arthropods. They are widespread across the globe, including in Kyrgyzstan, inhabiting environments ranging from sandy deserts, caves, and lakes to forest canopies and rocky moraines near glaciers.
The vast majority of spiders are active predators, hunting primarily invertebrates and using a system of external digestion. Many spiders catch their prey using sticky webs, while other types of silk are used for passive aerial dispersal.
Around 650 spider species from 28 families inhabit the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic.
On December 29, 2025, the Kyrgyz Express Post (KEP), the second designated postal operator (the other being the Kyrgyz Post) of Kyrgyzstan, put into circulation a lovely set (3 stamps) dedicated to some of these spiders found in Kyrgyzstan.
These 3 stamps (print run: 7,500 each) are present on the official FDC below (print run: 400) sent from Bishkek, the capital. 

Sur l'enveloppe Premier Jour, l'illustration présente le mâle de l'araignée-coccinelle (Eresus kollari), membre de la famille des Eresidae. Cette espèce fréquente sporadiquement les régions chaudes d'Eurasie occidentale et se distingue par son dimorphisme sexuel marqué et son mode de vie exceptionnellement sédentaire. 
Raveniola alajensis (50 KGS) est un représentant rare de la famille des Nemesiidae, proche parente des mygales. Cette espèce a été officiellement décrite en 2023. Son aire de répartition relique restreinte couvre la partie occidentale de la vallée d'Alay et les gorges des affluents du fleuve Kyzyl-Suu (Vakhsh), au Tadjikistan voisin. Cette araignée creuse un terrier où elle vit pendant de nombreuses années et, en hiver ou en cas de conditions défavorables, elle en ferme l'entrée à l'aide d'une trappe, rendant son abri extrêmement difficile à repérer. 
Latrodectus lugubris (150 KGS) est un représentant de la famille des Theridiidae. Les veuves noires sont bien connues pour leur dimorphisme sexuel et leur venin puissant. Cette espèce se distingue de ses congénères européennes par la coloration entièrement noire et veloutée de la femelle adulte. On la trouve dans les régions chaudes et arides d'Asie centrale et du sud du Kazakhstan, et presque partout dans les biotopes semi-désertiques et steppiques du Kirghizstan. Le venin de la veuve noire asiatique est fortement neurotoxique. Cependant, avec une prise en charge médicale rapide, une morsure ne représente pas un danger mortel pour l'homme. Malgré leur réputation sinistre, ces araignées mènent une vie discrète et sont rarement agressives.
On the First Day envelope, the illustration features the male Ladybird Spider (Eresus kollari), a member of the Velvet spider family Eresidae. This species sporadically inhabits warm regions of western Eurasia and is notable for its pronounced sexual dimorphism and exceptionally sedentary lifestyle. 
The Alay trapdoor spider (Raveniola alajensis, 50 KGS) is a rare representative of the Nemesiidae family, which is closely related to tarantulas. This species was officially described in 2023. Its narrow relict range covers the western part of the Alay Valley and the gorges of the tributaries of the Kyzyl-Suu (Vakhsh) River in neighboring Tajikistan. This spider digs a burrow where it lives for many years, and during winter or unfavorable conditions, it closes the entrance with a “trapdoor,” making its dwelling extremely difficult to spot.
The Asian sorrowful black widow (Latrodectus lugubris, 150 KGS) is a representative of the Cobweb spider family Theridiidae. Black widows are widely known for their sexual dimorphism and potent venom. This species is distinguished from its European counterparts by the completely velvety-black coloration of the adult female, and is distributed in warm and arid regions of Middle Asia and Southern Kazakhstan, occurring almost everywhere in semi-desert and steppe biotopes in Kyrgyzstan. The Asian sorrowful black widow's venom possesses a strong neurotoxic effect. However, with timely medical assistance, a bite does not pose a threat to human life. Despite their ominous reputation, these spiders lead a cryptic lifestyle and rarely exhibit aggression. 

Ces 3 timbres, conçus par Daria Maier (en collaboration avec l'entomologiste Dmitry Milko, chercheur principal à l'Institut de biologie de l'Académie nationale des sciences) et imprimés en Moldavie par Nova Imprim, ont été émis chacun en feuillet composé de 4 timbres + 2 vignettes centrales (voir ci-dessus). 
Karakumosa tashkumyr (300 KGS) est un grand représentant de la famille des Lycosidae. L'espèce a été officiellement décrite en 2020 et est actuellement considérée comme endémique du Kirghizstan cis-ferganien. Les tarentules-loups ne tissent pas de toiles de capture ; elles chassent activement au sol, traquant leurs proies grâce à leur excellente vision nocturne et survivant à la chaleur diurne dans des terriers profonds. Les femelles prennent soin de leurs petits.

The Tash-Kumyr tarantula wolf spider (Karakumosa tashkumyr, 300 KGS) is a large representative of the Wolf spider family Lycosidae. The species was officially described in 2020 and is currently considered endemic to the Cis-Ferganian Kyrgyzstan. Wolf spiders do not build capture webs, they actively hunt on the ground, tracking prey thanks to their excellent nocturnal vision, and surviving the daytime heat in deep burrows. Female Wolf spiders show care for their offspring.

Une autre espèce, Misumena vatia, représentante de la famille des Thomisidae, est représentée dans la marge à droite. Cette espèce est répandue presque partout en Eurasie et en Amérique du Nord et est connue pour sa large palette de couleurs vives, qui lui permet de se camoufler sur diverses fleurs et inflorescences.

Another species, Goldenrod crab-spider (Misumena vatia) – a representative of the Crab-spider family Thomisidae, is featured on the margin to the right. This species is widespread almost everywhere in Eurasia and North America and is known for the wide range of its bright coloration, which camouflages the ambush predator on various flowers and inflorescences.
