Bloc-feuillet "100 ans de la FIP - Fédération Internationale de Philatélie" sur FDC de Bulgarie 

La Fédération Internationale de Philatélie (FIP) a été créée le 18 juin 1926 à Paris par les représentants de 6 pays : Allemagne, Autriche, Belgique, France, Pays-Bas et Suisse.
Dès le début, la FIP a œuvré pour promouvoir la collection de timbres et la philatélie, favoriser l'amitié entre les peuples, entretenir des liens avec le secteur philatélique et les administrations postales, et soutenir les expositions philatéliques par son patronage et sa reconnaissance.
Aujourd’hui, la FIP regroupe 90 fédérations nationales avec lesquelles elle organise des conférences, des séminaires pour les futurs jurés lors de ses expositions et structure l'évolution de la façon de collectionner et d'exposer en introduisant de nouvelles classes de compétition.
Enfin, elle parraine et co-organise avec les fédérations nationales les expositions mondiales (générales et spécialisées) qui sont de véritable "jeux olympiques" de la philatélie.  
The Fédération Internationale de Philatélie (FIP - International Federation of Philately) was founded on June 18, 1926, in Paris by representatives from six countries: Germany, Austria, Belgium, France, the Netherlands, and Switzerland. 
From the outset, the FIP has worked to promote stamp collecting and philately, foster friendship among nations, maintain ties with the philatelic sector and postal administrations, and support philatelic exhibitions through its patronage and recognition.
Today, the FIP brings together 90 national federations; with them, it organizes conferences and seminars for aspiring jurors during its exhibitions and shapes the evolution of collecting and exhibiting practices by introducing new competitive classes.
Finally, it sponsors and co-organizes—alongside national federations—world exhibitions (both general and specialized) that serve as the true "Olympic Games" of philately.

La FIP célèbre donc le 100ème anniversaire de sa création en 2026 et un certain nombre d'administrations postales ont émis ou vont émettre des timbres sur ce thème, la plupart en reproduisant le logo officiel de ces 100 ans : Belarus, Monaco, République dominicaine, Serbie, Thaïlande, Bulgarie, Russie, Slovénie, Roumanie, Brésil, Uruguay, Israël, Chypre, Jordanie, Pakistan, Espagne, Bosnie-Herzégovine (Sarajevo), Émirats Arabes Unis, Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon, Grèce...
Le 29 avril 2026, la poste bulgare a mis en circulation un bloc-feuillet (1,95€, tirage : 5400, conception : Nevena Koleva) sur ce thème, utilisé sur la lettre recommandée ci-dessus, avec TAD Premier Jour de Pernik. Merci beaucoup Borislav !
Cette prévente a eu lieu dans le cadre de l'exposition philatélique "BALKANFILA XXI" organisée (sous le patronage de la FIP) du 29 avril au 2 mai 2026 dans cette ville de Pernik.
A noter la dédicace et signature de la conceptrice, Nevena Koleva, sur l'enveloppe en bas à gauche.  
L'emblème de la FIP, associé au logo de ce 100ème anniversaire, est reproduit dans la marge en bas à droite.
Sauf erreur, le timbre représente une icône de l'archange Gabriel, par la jeune artiste contemporaine Milena Rashkova. Elle est en particulier la créatrice d'icônes peintes dans l'église orthodoxe Saint-Ignace de Stara Zagora.
Saint Gabriel Archange est l'un des trois archanges cités dans la Bible, avec Michel et Raphaël. Son nom signifie "Force de Dieu". Gabriel est avant tout le messager de Dieu, celui qui apporte aux hommes les annonces les plus décisives de l'histoire du salut. 
D'autres icônes figures dans les marges de ce bloc-feuillet ainsi qu'une main sortant d'une enveloppe, probablement pour bénir les philatélistes du monde entier... 
The FIP is thus celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2026, and a number of postal administrations have issued - or will issue - stamps on this theme, most featuring the official 100th-anniversary logo: Belarus, Monaco, Dominican Republic, Serbia, Thailand, Bulgaria, Russia, Slovenia, Romania, Brazil, Uruguay, Israel, Cyprus, Jordan, Pakistan, Spain, Bosnia and Herzegovina (Sarajevo), United Arab Emirates, Saint Pierre and Miquelon, Greece, and others.
On April 29, 2026, the Bulgarian Post issued a souvenir sheet (€1.95; print run: 5,400; design: Nevena Koleva) on this theme; it was used on the registered cover above, with First Day cancellation from Pernik. Thank you very much, Borislav!
This first day of issue took place as part of the "BALKANFILA XXI" philatelic exhibition, organized (under FIP patronage) from April 29 to May 2, 2026, in this city of Pernik.
Note the dedication and signature of the designer, Nevena Koleva, on the bottom left of the envelope.
The FIP emblem, alongside the logo for this 100th anniversary, is reproduced in the bottom right margin.
Unless I am mistaken, the stamp depicts an icon of the Archangel Gabriel by the young contemporary artist Milena Rashkova. She is notably the creator of icons painted for the Saint Ignatius Orthodox Church in Stara Zagora.
Saint Gabriel the Archangel is one of the three archangels named in the Bible, alongside Michael and Raphael. His name means "Strength of God." Gabriel is, above all, God's messenger—the one who brings humanity the most pivotal announcements in the history of salvation.
Other icons appear in the margins of this souvenir sheet, as well as a hand emerging from an envelope—likely to bless philatelists around the world...  

"Biodiversity – Addax" stamp on FDC from Algeria

Timbre "Biodiversité - Addax" sur FDC d'Algérie 

L'addax ou antilope à nez tacheté (Addax nasomaculatus) est une espèce endémique de l'Afrique, quasiment éteinte à l'état sauvage et qui vivait dans plusieurs différentes régions isolées du Sahara. C'est l'antilope la plus adaptée aux déserts car elle est capable de s'adapter et d'habiter dans des endroits extrêmement arides.
Il ne subsiste aujourd'hui que quelques populations isolées en Algérie, au Tchad et au Niger. La survie de l'espèce repose sur les programmes de conservation et de réintroduction auxquels participent plusieurs parcs, en Europe et en France en particulier.
Le 23 mai 2026, la poste algérienne a mis en circulation, en collaboration avec le ministère de l'environnement et de la qualité de la vie, un timbre consacré à la biodiversité et à l'addax en particulier.
Ce timbre (40 DZD), montrant une femelle allaitant son petit, a été utilisé en 2 exemplaires sur la lettre ci-dessous envoyée depuis Jijel, avec TAD Premier Jour. Merci beaucoup Zine !
The addax, or screwhorn antelope (Addax nasomaculatus), is a species endemic to Africa; once found across various isolated regions of the Sahara, it is now virtually extinct in the wild. It is the antelope best adapted to desert environments, capable of thriving in extremely arid areas.
Today, only a few isolated populations remain in Algeria, Chad, and Niger. The species' survival depends on conservation and reintroduction programs involving various parks, particularly in Europe and France.
On May 23, 2026, the Algerian Post, in collaboration with the Ministry of the Environment and Quality of Life, issued a stamp dedicated to biodiversity, specifically featuring the addax.
Two copies of this stamp (40 DZD), which depicts a female nursing her calf, have been used on the cover below, sent from Jijel with First Day of Issue postmark. Many thanks, Zine!  

Les addax vivent en petits troupeaux d'une dizaine d’individus des deux sexes, dirigés par le mâle le plus âgé. Nomades, ils parcourent de longues distances dans le désert à la recherche de nourriture.
Guidés par un odorat très développé, ils perçoivent de très loin la moindre pluie. Par très forte chaleur, l'addax se repose dans des cuvettes qu'il creuse pour s'abriter du soleil et des violentes tempêtes de sable et s'active la nuit. 
L'addax, en danger critique d'extinction, se reconnaît aux longues cornes spiralées pouvant mesurer jusqu'à 1 mètre que portent mâles et femelles, et à sa "frange" de poils sombres sur le front.
Un conduit nasal qui agit comme refroidisseur et une température interne variable protègent son cerveau contre les fortes chaleurs et une urine très concentrée limite la perte d'eau. L'addax peut ainsi se passer de boire pendant des mois : la rosée et l'eau contenues dans les végétaux lui suffisent. Bien adapté à la vie dans le désert, il a des sabots courts et larges qui lui évitent de s'enfoncer dans le sable. Son pelage blanc le protège de la réflexion du soleil et devient plus gris-brun en hiver. 
Des représentations d'addax dans des tombeaux égyptiens montrent qu'il était domestiqué 2500 ans avant J.-C.
Avec moins de 500 individus dans la nature, sa survie dépend des actions actuelles de conservation. La chasse excessive reste la cause la plus importante de la disparition de l'addax ; la sécheresse et les pressions sur l'habitat aggravent la situation.
Addax live in small herds of about ten individuals of both sexes, led by the oldest male. Nomadic by nature, they roam vast distances across the desert in search of food.
Guided by a keen sense of smell, they can detect even the slightest rainfall from a great distance. During periods of intense heat, the addax rests in shallow depressions it digs to shelter itself from the sun and fierce sandstorms, becoming active at night.
Critically endangered, the addax is distinguished by the long, spiraled horns, measuring up to one meter, borne by both males and females, as well as by a "fringe" of dark hair on its forehead.
A nasal passage acting as a cooling mechanism and a variable internal body temperature protect its brain from extreme heat, while highly concentrated urine minimizes water loss. Consequently, the addax can go months without drinking; the dew and moisture found in the vegetation it eats are sufficient. Well-adapted to desert life, it has short, broad hooves that prevent it from sinking into the sand. Its white coat protects it from reflected sunlight, shifting to a grayish-brown hue in winter.
Depictions of the addax in Egyptian tombs indicate that the species was domesticated as early as 2500 BC.
With fewer than 500 individuals remaining in the wild, its survival hinges on current conservation efforts. Excessive hunting remains the primary cause of the addax's decline, while drought and habitat pressures further exacerbate the situation.

L'année 2026 marque le 70ème anniversaire des timbres EUROPA, une initiative philatélique lancée pour renforcer les relations entre les pays européens et promouvoir une paix et une unité durables.
Émis pour la première fois en 1956 par six nations – la Belgique, la France, l'Allemagne, l'Italie, le Luxembourg et les Pays-Bas, membres fondateurs de l'Union européenne – ce programme s'est étendu progressivement à 53 organisations postales participantes.
L'an dernier, le groupe de travail Timbres et Philatélie de PostEurop a organisé un concours interne pour choisir un motif commun sur le thème "70ème anniversaire du timbre EUROPA : Unis par...".
Guidés par des valeurs partagées telles que la communication, l'innovation, la coopération et des racines communes, les membres ont soumis 15 propositions créatives, chacune présentant une vision unique. 
Suite au vote de 50 organisations postales, ce concours a été remporté par la poste finlandaise (Posti), devant la poste de Bosnie-Herzégovine (Sarajevo) et la poste luxembourgeoise.
C'est donc le projet de l'artiste et graphiste Klaus Welp qui figure sur les timbres EUROPA émis en 2026.

Last year, PostEurop's Stamps and Philately Working Group organized an internal competition to choose a common design on the theme "70th Anniversary of the EUROPA Stamp: United by...".
Guided by shared values ​​such as communication, innovation, cooperation, and common roots, the members submitted 15 creative proposals, each presenting a unique vision.
Following a vote by 50 postal organizations, the Finnish Post (Posti) won the competition, ahead of the Post of Bosnia & Herzegovina (Sarajevo) and the Post of Luxembourg.
The design by artist and graphic designer Klaus Welp will therefore be featured on the EUROPA stamps issued in 2026. 

Le 5 avril 2026, la poste croate de Mostar (HP Mostar), l'un des 3 opérateurs postaux de la Bosnie-Herzégovine (BiH), avec la poste de la Fédération de BiH de Sarajevo (BH Pošta) et la poste de la Republika Srpska (Pošte Srpske), a mis en circulation un timbre EUROPA unique reproduisant le dessin conçu par Klaus Welp.
Ce timbre (4 BAM, tirage : 5000) a été imprimé en feuillet de 8 timbres + 2 vignettes ainsi que dans un bloc-feuillet (tirage : 5000) utilisé sur la lettre ci-dessus envoyée le 19 juin 2026 depuis Mostar. Merci beaucoup Miro !
Ce timbre EUROPA allie éléments abstraits et symboliques. La ligne pointillée ascendante en diagonale représente à la fois la perforation du timbre et le travail progressif de PostEurop. Les sept points, reliés par une ligne droite, symbolisent soixante-dix ans d'efforts concertés des opérateurs postaux à travers le continent.
Les dégradés et les motifs pointillés en arrière-plan forment une surface harmonieuse et dynamique, reflétant le joyeux mélange de couleurs du drapeau européen et symbolisant l'unité de tous les États membres.
A noter que la poste croate de Mostar (HP Mostar) a émis ses premiers timbres EUROPA en 1993 (art contemporain) même si ses premiers timbres EUROPA officiels ont été émis en 2005 (Gastronomie) lorsque l'administration postale est devenue membre de l'UPU (membre de PostEurop en 2008).

This EUROPA stamp combines abstract and symbolic elements. The diagonally ascending dotted line represents both the perforation of a stamp and the progressive work of the PostEurop. The seven dots, connected by a straight line, symbolize seventy years of unified effort by postal operators across the continent.
The blending gradients and dotted patterns in the background form a cohesive and vibrant surface, reflecting the joyful mix of colours from the European flag and symbolizing the unity of all member nations. 
It should be noted that the Croatian Post in Mostar (HP Mostar) issued its first EUROPA stamps in 1993 (contemporary art), although its first official EUROPA stamps were issued in 2005 (Gastronomy) when the postal administration became a member of the UPU (and a member of PostEurop in 2008). 

"70 Years of Diplomatic Relations with India" stamp on cover from Laos

Timbre "70 ans de relations diplomatiques avec l'Inde" sur lettre du Laos 

Les relations diplomatiques entre l'Inde et le Lasos ont été établies en février 1956. L'Inde considère le Laos comme stratégiquement important, compte tenu de l'influence croissante de la Chine en mer de Chine méridionale.
Par ailleurs, le Laos a soutenu les efforts de l'Inde pour devenir membre permanent du Conseil de sécurité des Nations Unies. 
Les 2 pays ont signé plusieurs accords pour renforcer leurs échanges dans les domaines de la défense, de l'irrigation, de l'économie ou de la culture.
Le gouvernement indien a en particulier consacré plus de 4 millions de dollars à la restauration du site de Vat Phou, classé par l'UNESCO au patrimoine mondial en 2001.
Le 20 mars 2026, la poste laotienne a mis en circulation un timbre consacré au 70ème anniversaire de ces relations diplomatiques avec l'Inde, en illustrant la restauration de ce site de  Vat Phou avec l'aide financière de l'Inde. 
Diplomatic relations between India and Laos were established in February 1956. India views Laos as strategically important, given China's growing influence in the South China Sea.
Furthermore, Laos has supported India's bid for permanent membership in the United Nations Security Council.
The two countries have signed several agreements to strengthen cooperation in areas such as defense, irrigation, the economy, and culture.
Notably, the Indian government has contributed over $4 million toward the restoration of the Vat Phou site, which was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2001.
On March 20, 2026, the Lao postal service issued a stamp commemorating the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations with India, featuring the restoration of the Vat Phou site, which was carried out with Indian financial assistance.

Pour rappel, depuis le 28 novembre 2025, la poste laotienne n'accepte les affranchissements en timbres que sur les cartes postales... un sticker doit désormais être appliqué sur les lettres domestiques et internationales, comme sur cette enveloppe avec une valeur de 50500 LAK ici (les 20000 LAK du timbre ne sont pas pris en compte...). 
L'ensemble du temple de Vat Phou est un témoignage exceptionnel des cultures d'Asie du sud-est, et en particulier de l'empire khmer qui domina la région du 10ème au 14ème siècle. L'ensemble de Vat Phou illustre remarquablement l'intégration d'un paysage symbolique d'une grande valeur spirituelle dans son environnement naturel. 
Illustration de l'interprétation hindoue de la relation entre la nature et l'humanité, Vat Phou se targue d'un remarquable ensemble de monuments et autres structures disséminées sur une vaste superficie entre fleuve et montagne, certains dotés d'une architecture exceptionnelle, comme le Palais nord, dit "Palais des hommes" illustré sur ce timbre, restauré avec l'aide de l'Inde.
A noter que d'autres missions étrangères (France, Italie, Japon) participent aussi à la restauration de ce site remarquable.

As a reminder, since November 28, 2025, the Lao postal service has only accepted postage stamps on postcards; a sticker having now to be used for domestic and international letters—such as the one on this envelope, valued at 50,500 LAK (the 20,000 LAK stamp is not counted toward the total).
The Temple Complex of Vat Phou bears exceptional testimony to the cultures of south-east Asia, and in particular to the Khmer Empire which dominated the region in the 10th–14th centuries. The Vat Phou complex is an outstanding example of the integration of symbolic landscape of great spiritual significance to its natural surroundings.
Contrived to express the Hindu version of the relationship between nature and humanity, Vat Phou exhibits a remarkable complex of monuments and other structures over an extensive area between river and mountain, some of outstanding architecture, such as the Northern Palace—known as the "Men's Palace" depicted on this stamp—which was restored with assistance from India.
It is worth noting that other foreign missions (from France, Italy, and Japan) are also participating in the restoration of this remarkable site.

Ce timbre (1 AZN, tirage : 20000, mise en page : Orkhan Garayev), imprimé en feuillet de 4 timbres, a été utilisé sur la lettre ci-dessus envoyée le 24 avril 2026 depuis Bakou, la capitale. Merci beaucoup Mahir !

"125th Anniversary of Institute for Medical Research" stamp set on FDCs from Malaysia

Série "125ème ​​anniversaire de l'Institut de recherche médicale" sur FDCs de Malaisie 

L'Institut de recherche médicale (IMR) est l'un des six instituts composant les Instituts nationaux de santé de Malaisie.
L'IMR a été fondé en 1900 sous le nom d'Institut de pathologie de Malaisie. Sa mission consistait à améliorer les normes sanitaires de la population locale et à explorer le domaine vaste et encore largement méconnu de la médecine tropicale. Cet Institut de pathologie a été rebaptisé Institut de recherche médicale en 1901.
Les principales missions de l'IMR sont la recherche, les services de diagnostic spécialisé, la formation et le conseil technique.
En 2019, l'IMR a quitté ses locaux de Jalan Pahang, à Kuala Lumpur, pour s'installer au sein du complexe des Instituts nationaux de santé à Setia Alam, dans l'État de Selangor.
En 2025, l'IMR a célébré son 125ème anniversaire sous le thème "Faire progresser la santé, relier les personnes". Ces célébrations visaient à permettre au public de mieux comprendre les contributions et le rôle crucial de la recherche médicale dans l'amélioration de la santé et du bien-être de la population.

IMR was established in 1900 as the Pathological Institute in Malaya. Its purpose was to improve the health standards of the local population and to explore the vast and largely unknown field of tropical medicine. This Pathological Institute was later renamed the Institute for Medical Research in 1901.
The main functions of IMR are research, specialised diagnostic services, training, and technical consultation.
In 2019, IMR relocated from Jalan Pahang, Kuala Lumpur to the National Institutes of Health complex in Setia Alam, Selangor.
In 2025, IMR celebrated its 125th anniversary with the theme "Advancing Health, Connecting People". The celebration aimed to help the public better understand the contributions and important role of medical research in improving the health and well-being of the population.  

Les travaux de recherche menés par l'IMR ont considérablement contribué à la connaissance, à la compréhension, au traitement et à la lutte contre plusieurs maladies tropicales majeures en Malaisie et en Asie du Sud-Est. Parmi celles-ci figurent le béribéri, le paludisme, le choléra, la fièvre typhoïde, la variole, la lèpre, la tuberculose, la filariose, la dengue, le typhus des broussailles, ainsi que les carences nutritionnelles.
Le 18 avril 2026, la poste malaisienne a mis en circulation une intéressante série (2 timbres + 1 bloc-feuillet) consacrée au 125ème anniversaire de cet Institut de recherche médicale.

Research efforts at the IMR have contributed significantly to the knowledge, understanding, treatment, and control of several major tropical diseases in Malaysia and the Southeast Asian region. These include beri-beri, malaria, cholera, typhoid fever, smallpox, leprosy, tuberculosis, filariasis, dengue, scrub typhus, as well as nutritional deficiencies.
On April 18, 2026, the Malaysian Post issued an interesting set (two stamps and a souvenir sheet) commemorating the 125th anniversary of this Institute for Medical Research.

The octagonal souvenir sheet above (5 RM) depicts the IMR's former site in Kuala Lumpur and its new site in Setia Alam; the eight spheres in the outer margins represent the eight different centers that make up the Institute: Cancer Research Centre, Allergy & Immunology Research Centre, Environmental Health Research Centre, Herbal Medicine Research Centre, Infectious Disease Research Centre, Nutrition, Metabolic & Cardiovascular Research Centre, Specialised Diagnostics Centre, Special Resource Centre. 

Les 2 timbres se-tenant ci-dessus (1,50 RM chacun) illustrent (de façon un peu confuse de mon point de vue) les nombreuses étapes scientifiques marquantes de l'IMR, en particulier entre son 100ème et son 125ème anniversaire : domaines de l'entomologie médico-légale, de la recherche et du diagnostic des maladies rares, de la lutte contre la dengue par la méthode *Wolbachia*, de la détection de la COVID-19, de la recherche sur le carcinome du nasopharynx (NPC) et de la promotion de la médecine traditionnelle via la plateforme GLOBinMED.
A noter que la poste malaisienne avait déjà émis en 2000 une série (3 timbres) consacrée au 100ème anniversaire de cet Institut de recherche médicale. 
The two se-tenant stamps above (1.50 RM each) illustrate—somewhat confusingly, in my view—the many significant scientific milestones achieved by the IMR, particularly between its 100th and 125th anniversaries: fields such as forensic entomology, rare disease research and diagnosis, dengue control using the *Wolbachia* method, COVID-19 detection, nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) cancer research, and the promotion of traditional medicine via the GLOBinMED platform.
It is worth noting that the Malaysian Post had previously issued a series of three stamps in 2000 to mark the 100th anniversary of this Institute for Medical Research.

La création de l'Académie d'Athènes en 1926 a marqué l'aboutissement d'efforts longs et inlassables, s'étendant sur près d'un siècle, pour fonder une académie grecque.
Son nom fait référence à l'Académie de Platon et au rayonnement intellectuel de l'Athènes antique, ville que Thucydide qualifiait de centre éducatif de la Grèce. La première tentative de création d'une académie remonte à 1824, en pleine guerre d'indépendance grecque.
Le traumatisme sociétal de la catastrophe d'Asie Mineure (guerre gréco-turque entre 1919 et 1922) attise le besoin de créer une académie à Athènes afin de sauvegarder le patrimoine culturel grec et de cultiver la conscience nationale. 
L'Académie d'Athènes a été fondée le 18 mars 1926 sous le nom d'Académie des Sciences, Humanités et Beaux-Arts. L'institution a pour objectif de cultiver et de promouvoir les sciences, les lettres et les beaux-arts. Son siège, partie de la "trilogie néoclassique" (avec l'Université d'Athènes et la Bibliothèque nationale) des architectes danois Christian et Theophil Hansen, constitue aujourd'hui l'un des monuments modernes emblématiques d'Athènes. 
The establishment of the Academy of Athens in 1926 marked the culmination of long and tireless efforts, spanning nearly a century, to found a Greek academy.
Its name alludes to Plato's Academy and the intellectual renown of ancient Athens—a city Thucydides described as the educational center of Greece. The first attempt to create such an academy dates back to 1824, in the midst of the Greek War of Independence.
The societal trauma caused by the Asia Minor Catastrophe (Greco-Turkish War of 1919-1922) fueled the need to establish an academy in Athens to safeguard Greek cultural heritage and foster national consciousness.
The Academy of Athens was founded on March 18, 1926, under the name "Academy of Sciences, Humanities, and Fine Arts." The institution’s mission is to cultivate and promote the sciences, letters, and fine arts. Its headquarters—part of the "Neoclassical Trilogy" designed by Danish architects Christian and Theophil Hansen, alongside the University of Athens and the National Library—stands today as one of Athens' iconic modern landmarks.  

Le 18 mars 2026, la poste grecque Elta a mis en circulation une très jolie série (4 timbres, conception : Eleni Apostolou) consacrée au 100ème anniversaire (jour pour jour) de la création de l'Académie d'Athènes.

Theophil Hansen a opté pour une architecture néoclassique de style ionique, entièrement en marbre blanc du Pentélique et pierres du Pirée. Le sculpteur grec Leonídas Dróssis, artiste reconnu à l'époque qui enseignera d'ailleurs la sculpture dans cette même Académie, a réalisé l'ensemble sculptural du fronton principal sur le thème de la naissance d'Athéna ainsi que les 2 très hautes colonnes (19 mètres de haut), surmontées de statues représentant Athéna et Apollon, encadrant l'édifice principal.
Cet édifice (achevé en 1887) est représenté sur le timbre à 2€ (tirage : 30000), la tête de la statue d'Athéna (1882), représenté en déesse en armes d'après le modèle de l'Athéna Promachos de Phidias, figurant sur le timbre en haut à droite (1,20€, tirage : 20000).
Les 2 autres timbres reproduisent des détails des fresques par le peintre germano-autrichien Christian Griepenkerl, situées dans la salle de conférences de l'Académie d'Athènes : "Athéna et Prométhée aux portes célestes de la lumière" (0,50€, tirage : 30000) et "Prométhée introduit sur l'Olympe" (1,20€, tirage : 20000).

Theophil Hansen chose a Neoclassical architectural style with Ionic features, constructed entirely from white Pentelic marble and stone from Piraeus. The Greek sculptor Leonidas Drossis—a renowned artist of the time who would later teach sculpture at the Academy itself—created the main pediment's sculptural group depicting the birth of Athena, as well as the two towering columns (19 meters high) topped by statues of Athena and Apollo that flank the main building.
This building (completed in 1887) is depicted on the €2.00 stamp (print run: 30,000), while the head of the Athena statue (1882)—portrayed as an armed goddess based on the model of Phidias's *Athena Promachos*—appears on the stamp in the top right corner (€1.20, print run: 20,000).
The other two stamps reproduce details from frescoes by the German-Austrian painter Christian Griepenkerl, located in the Academy of Athens' conference hall: "Athena and Prometheus at the heavenly gates of light" (€0.50, print run: 30,000) and "Prometheus Introduced to Olympus" (€1.20, print run: 20,000).

En 2026, le monde célèbre le 250ème anniversaire de l'indépendance des États-Unis d'Amérique. C'est le 4 juillet 1776, à Philadelphie, que treize colonies britanniques ont proclamé la création d'un nouvel État fondé sur les principes de liberté, d'égalité et de droits humains inaliénables.
L'Ukraine et les États-Unis partagent une histoire de partenariat relativement courte mais significative. Le 25 décembre 1991, les États-Unis ont officiellement reconnu l'indépendance de l'Ukraine, et des relations diplomatiques ont été établies entre les deux pays le 3 janvier 1992.
Depuis lors, les États-Unis ont constamment soutenu la transformation démocratique de l'Ukraine, le développement de ses institutions et le renforcement de la sécurité internationale. Depuis le début de l'invasion russe à grande échelle, les États-Unis sont devenus l'un des principaux alliés de l'Ukraine, lui apportant une aide militaire, économique et humanitaire. 
In 2026, the world marks the 250th anniversary of the independence of the United States of America. It was on July 4, 1776, in Philadelphia that thirteen British colonies proclaimed the creation of a new state founded on the principles of freedom, equality, and inalienable human rights.
Ukraine and the United States share a relatively short yet meaningful history of partnership. On December 25, 1991, the United States officially recognized Ukraine’s independence, and diplomatic relations between the two countries were established on January 3, 1992.
Since then, the United States has consistently supported democratic transformation in Ukraine, the development of institutions, and the strengthening of international security. Since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion, the United States has become one of Ukraine’'s key allies, providing military, economic, and humanitarian assistance.

On May 26, 2026, the Ukrainian Post issued a stamp (permanent rate "A" – approx. 54 UAH; design: N. Titov; print run: 80,000) commemorating the 250th anniversary of the independence of the United States of America.
This stamp, printed in a sheetlet of four, was used on the associated envelope above (issue date: April 16, 2026; print run: 15,000), with a special pictorial cancellation released by the Ukrainian Post to mark its participation at the "Boston 2026" philatelic exhibition (May 23–30, 2026). The special postmark, bearing the inscription "One Spirit of Freedom", juxtaposes the famous Statue of Liberty in New York (on the right) with the "Mother Ukraine" statue (on the left)—a colossal monument (102 meters tall) erected in Kyiv in 1981.
The Statue of Liberty's torch is depicted on the left side of the envelope, with a hand intertwining the Ukrainian and American flags. 

J'ai eu la chance de recevoir également le feuillet ci-dessus dans lequel ce timbre a été imprimé.
Ce timbre illustre la mention "FREEDOM" parée des couleurs des 2 drapeaux nationaux, avec le nombre "250" dans le fond. La marge supérieure représente 2 personnes s'étreignant, une étant de nationalité américaine et l'autre de nationalité ukrainienne.
Ce timbre constitue non seulement un hommage à l'histoire de l'État américain, mais aussi un symbole de solidarité entre les peuples ukrainien et américain (à ne pas confondre avec Trump...), unis par des valeurs communes de liberté, de démocratie et de dignité.

This stamp features the word "FREEDOM" in the colors of the two national flags, with the number "250" in the background. The top margin depicts two people embracing—one American and the other Ukrainian.
This stamp serves not only as a tribute to the history of the American state but also as a symbol of solidarity between the Ukrainian and American peoples (not to be confused with Trump...), united by shared values ​​of freedom, democracy, and dignity.

L'année 2026 marque le 70ème anniversaire des timbres EUROPA, une initiative philatélique lancée pour renforcer les relations entre les pays européens et promouvoir une paix et une unité durables.
Émis pour la première fois en 1956 par six nations – la Belgique, la France, l'Allemagne, l'Italie, le Luxembourg et les Pays-Bas, membres fondateurs de l'Union européenne – ce programme s'est étendu progressivement à 53 organisations postales participantes.
L'an dernier, le groupe de travail Timbres et Philatélie de PostEurop a organisé un concours interne pour choisir un motif commun sur le thème "70ème anniversaire du timbre EUROPA : Unis par...".
Guidés par des valeurs partagées telles que la communication, l'innovation, la coopération et des racines communes, les membres ont soumis 15 propositions créatives, chacune présentant une vision unique. 
Suite au vote de 50 organisations postales, ce concours a été remporté par la poste finlandaise (Posti), devant la poste de Bosnie-Herzégovine (Sarajevo) et la poste luxembourgeoise.
C'est donc le projet de l'artiste et graphiste Klaus Welp qui figure sur les timbres EUROPA émis en 2026.

Last year, PostEurop's Stamps and Philately Working Group organized an internal competition to choose a common design on the theme "70th Anniversary of the EUROPA Stamp: United by...".
Guided by shared values ​​such as communication, innovation, cooperation, and common roots, the members submitted 15 creative proposals, each presenting a unique vision.
Following a vote by 50 postal organizations, the Finnish Post (Posti) won the competition, ahead of the Post of Bosnia & Herzegovina (Sarajevo) and the Post of Luxembourg.
The design by artist and graphic designer Klaus Welp will therefore be featured on the EUROPA stamps issued in 2026.

Ce timbre EUROPA allie éléments abstraits et symboliques. La ligne pointillée ascendante en diagonale représente à la fois la perforation du timbre et le travail progressif de PostEurop. Les sept points, reliés par une ligne droite, symbolisent soixante-dix ans d'efforts concertés des opérateurs postaux à travers le continent.
Les dégradés et les motifs pointillés en arrière-plan forment une surface harmonieuse et dynamique, reflétant le joyeux mélange de couleurs du drapeau européen et symbolisant l'unité de tous les États membres. 
A noter que la Turquie a émis ses premiers timbres EUROPA en 1958 (souche d'arbre) sans toutefois reproduire le dessin commun choisi cette année-la, une colombe volant au-dessus du "E" d'Europe (par le néerlandais André Van der Vossen) pour illustrer le thème "La paix au service des idées européennes".

This EUROPA stamp combines abstract and symbolic elements. The diagonally ascending dotted line represents both the perforation of a stamp and the progressive work of the PostEurop. The seven dots, connected by a straight line, symbolize seventy years of unified effort by postal operators across the continent.
The blending gradients and dotted patterns in the background form a cohesive and vibrant surface, reflecting the joyful mix of colours from the European flag and symbolizing the unity of all member nations.
It is worth noting that Türkiye issued its first EUROPA stamps in 1958 (featuring a tree stump) but did not reproduce the common design selected that year—a dove flying over the letter "E" of Europe (by the Dutch artist André Van der Vossen)—which was intended to illustrate the theme "Peace in the Service of European Ideas". 

"120th anniversary of the publication of the newspaper «Basarabia»" on prepaid card from Moldova

TAD "120 ans de la parution du journal «Basarabia»" sur carte pré-timbrée de Moldavie 

"Basarabia" a été le premier journal imprimé en langue roumaine, paru du 26 mai 1906 au 11 mars 1907. 79 numéros furent imprimés.
Caractérisé par un radicalisme agraire et nationaliste, le journal fut interdit par les autorités provinciales. De jeunes intellectuels bessarabiens, tels que Pan Halippa, Mihai Vântul, Alexei Mateevici et d'autres, se rassemblèrent autour de la publication. Le rédacteur en chef était l'avocat Emanuel Gavriliță.
Le journal paraissait en roumain, en caractères cyrilliques, mais le nom "Basarabia" était écrit en caractères latins. Financé à la fois par la province (avec le soutien de Vasile Stroescu) et par la Roumanie, notamment grâce aux efforts de Constantin Stere de Iași, le journal imposa les normes littéraires de la langue roumaine, s'efforçant de la revitaliser en Bessarabie.
Les autorités tsaristes persécutaient constamment le journal et sa rédaction ; il fut accusé de crimes à plusieurs reprises et traduit en justice seize fois. 
"Basarabia" was the first newspaper printed in Romanian language, published from May 26, 1906, to March 11, 1907. A total of 79 issues were printed.
Characterized by agrarian and nationalist radicalism, the newspaper was banned by provincial authorities. Young Bessarabian intellectuals—such as Pan Halippa, Mihai Vântul, Alexei Mateevici, and others—rallied around the publication. Its editor-in-chief was the lawyer Emanuel Gavriliță.
The newspaper was published in Romanian using the Cyrillic script, although the name "Basarabia" was written in Latin characters. Funded by both the province (with the support of Vasile Stroescu) and Romania—notably through the efforts of Constantin Stere from Iași—the newspaper established literary standards for the Romanian language and strove to revitalize it in Bessarabia.
Tsarist authorities constantly persecuted the newspaper and its editorial staff; it faced criminal charges on several occasions and was taken to court sixteen times.  

En 1906, le journal fut arrêté deux fois : le 2 juin, le numéro 5 fut confisqué, et le 11 octobre, le numéro 40. Il cessa de paraître le 11 mars 1907, après la publication, dans le numéro 78 du 4 mars 1907, de l'hymne "Réveillez-vous, Roumains"...
Le 26 mai 2026, la poste moldave a mis en circulation un intéressant TAD (conception : Mihail Riga) consacré au 120ème anniversaire de la parution de ce journal "Basarabia", symbole culturel d'émancipation de la Bessarabie à une époque où cette région faisait encore partie de l'Empire russe. 
Ce TAD a été appliqué par le bureau principal de Chișinău (MD-2012) sur la carte pré-timbrée ci-dessus. Merci beaucoup Nicolae ! 
Cette carte (1,30 MDL, tirage : 1000, conception : Lilian Iaţco) a été mise en circulation le 23 juin 2016 pour célébrer le 25ème anniversaire de l'émission des premiers timbres de la République de Moldavie.
In 1906, the newspaper was suppressed twice: issue No. 5 was confiscated on June 2, and issue No. 40 on October 11. It ceased publication on March 11, 1907, following the publication of the anthem "Awaken, Romanians" in issue No. 78 (dated March 4, 1907)...
On May 26, 2026, the Post of Moldova put into circulation an interesting special postmark (designed by Mihail Riga) commemorating the 120th anniversary of the launch of the "Basarabia" newspaper, a cultural symbol of Bessarabia's emancipation at a time when the region was still part of the Russian Empire.

Nicolae a utilisé 3 autres timbres sur l'autre côté de cette carte ci-dessus, pour atteindre le tarif en vigueur pour l'envoi d'une lettre de moins de 20g vers la France (12 MDL), avec en particulier un timbre (5,20 MDL), avec vignette attenante, faisant partie d'une série (3 timbres), émise le 6 mai 2026, consacrée à différentes espèces de pivoines (l'espèce "Bartzella" ici) du jardin botanique national (Institut) "Alexandru Ciubotaru" à Chișinău.

Nicolae used three additional stamps on the other side of this card above to meet the current rate for sending a letter weighing less than 20g to France (12 MDL). Notably, this includes a stamp (5.20 MDL) with an attached label, part of a three-stamp series issued on May 6, 2026, featuring various peony species (specifically the "Bartzella" variety here) from the "Alexandru Ciubotaru" National Botanical Garden (Institute) in Chișinău.
The stamp at the bottom left (3 MDL) belongs to another series (three stamps) issued on May 30, 2025, dedicated to artistic ironwork; specifically, it depicts one of the ornate grilles found under the entrance porch of the Saint Theodora of Sihla Church in Chișinău.
The final stamp (2.50 MDL) is part of a two-stamp series issued on November 8, 1994, commemorating Moldova's accession to NATO's Partnership for Peace program.

Guidés par des valeurs partagées telles que la communication, l'innovation, la coopération et des racines communes, les membres ont soumis 15 propositions créatives, chacune présentant une vision unique. 
Suite au vote de 50 organisations postales, ce concours a été remporté par la poste finlandaise (Posti), devant la poste de Bosnie-Herzégovine (Sarajevo) et la poste luxembourgeoise.
C'est donc le projet de l'artiste et graphiste Klaus Welp qui figure sur les timbres EUROPA émis en 2026. 
The year 2026 marks the 70th anniversary of the EUROPA stamps, a philatelic initiative launched to strengthen relations between European countries and promote lasting peace and unity.
First issued in 1956 by six nations – Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, and the Netherlands, founding members of the European Union – this program has gradually expanded to include 53 participating postal organizations.
Last year, PostEurop's Stamps and Philately Working Group organized an internal competition to choose a common design on the theme "70th Anniversary of the EUROPA Stamp: United by...".
Guided by shared values ​​such as communication, innovation, cooperation, and common roots, the members submitted 15 creative proposals, each presenting a unique vision.
Following a vote by 50 postal organizations, the Finnish Post (Posti) won the competition, ahead of the Post of Bosnia & Herzegovina (Sarajevo) and the Post of Luxembourg.
The design by artist and graphic designer Klaus Welp will therefore be featured on the EUROPA stamps issued in 2026. 

Le 5 mai 2026, la poste espagnole Correos a mis en circulation un timbre EUROPA unique reproduisant le dessin conçu par Klaus Welp. 
Ce timbre (tarif permanent "B" pour un envoi en Europe jusqu'à 20g - 2€ actuellement, tirage : 75000), imprimé en feuille de 25 timbres, a été utilisé sur la lettre ci-dessus envoyée le 21 mai 2026 depuis Alicante. Merci beaucoup Luis!
Ce timbre EUROPA allie éléments abstraits et symboliques. La ligne pointillée ascendante en diagonale représente à la fois la perforation du timbre et le travail progressif de PostEurop. Les sept points, reliés par une ligne droite, symbolisent soixante-dix ans d'efforts concertés des opérateurs postaux à travers le continent.
Les dégradés et les motifs pointillés en arrière-plan forment une surface harmonieuse et dynamique, reflétant le joyeux mélange de couleurs du drapeau européen et symbolisant l'unité de tous les États membres. 
A noter que l'Espagne a émis ses premiers timbres EUROPA en 1960, reproduisant un dessin commun (par le finlandais Pentti Rahikainen) représentant une roue de char romain à 19 rayons, un pour chacun des membres de la CEPT (créée en 1959), incluse dans la lettre O du mot "EUROPA". 
On May 5, 2026, the Spanish Post Correos, issued a unique EUROPA stamp featuring the design by Klaus Welp.

This EUROPA stamp combines abstract and symbolic elements. The diagonally ascending dotted line represents both the perforation of a stamp and the progressive work of the PostEurop. The seven dots, connected by a straight line, symbolize seventy years of unified effort by postal operators across the continent.
The blending gradients and dotted patterns in the background form a cohesive and vibrant surface, reflecting the joyful mix of colours from the European flag and symbolizing the unity of all member nations. 
It is worth noting that Spain issued its first EUROPA stamps in 1960, reproducing a common design (by the Finnish artist Pentti Rahikainen) depicting a 19-spoke Roman chariot wheel, one spoke for each member of the CEPT (established in 1959), incorporated into the letter O of the word "EUROPA".
