"Tribute to Pope Francis (1936-2025)" stamp on FDC from Bosnia & Herzegovina

Timbre "Hommage au pape François (1936-2025)" sur FDC de Bosnie-Herzégovine 

Le pape François, né Jorge Mario Bergoglio à Buenos Aires, en Argentine, a été élu pape le 13 mars 2013 (premier jésuite et premier sud-américain à occuper cette fonction) suite à la démission du pape Benoît XVI. Il a choisi "François" comme nom pontifical en l'honneur de Saint François d'Assise. 
Son pontificat fut marqué par l'humilité et la simplicité. Défenseur infatigable de la justice sociale et du dialogue interreligieux, il fut l'initiateur de vastes réformes.
Profondément engagé dans la protection de l'environnement, la promotion de la solidarité et la résolution pacifique des conflits, il laissa le souvenir d'un pape proche du peuple. 
Le pape François est décédé le lundi de Pâques 21 avril 2025, à l'âge de 88 ans, dans sa résidence de la Maison Sainte-Marthe, au Vatican. Il a été inhumé le 26 avril 2025 dans la basilique Sainte-Marie-Majeure à Rome.  
Au cours de son pontificat, le pape François a effectué 47 visites pastorales hors d'Italie, dont une en Bosnie-Herzégovine le 6 juin 2015.

During his pontificate, Pope Francis made 47 pastoral visits outside Italy, including one in Bosnia & Herzegovina on June 6, 2015.

Cette visite à Sarajevo le 6 juin 2015 a eu lieu 20 ans après la fin du conflit qui a ensanglanté la Bosnie-Herzégovine à partir de 1992, et avait pour objet la préservation de la paix dans une ville symbole du multiculturalisme.
Le 24 décembre 2025, une des trois administrations postales de Bosnie-Herzégovine, BH Pošta Sarajevo, a mis en circulation un timbre (3,30 BAM, tirage : 10000, conception : Brankica Sumenić-Bajić) rendant hommage au pape François ("Papa Franjo" en bosnien). 
Ce timbre figure sur le FDC officiel ci-dessus envoyé le 15 janvier 2026 depuis Sarajevo. Merci beaucoup Miro !
Le 9 mai 2024, en la solennité de l'Ascension, le pape François publie la bulle d'indiction, "Spes non confundit" ("L'espérance ne déçoit pas"), annonçant officiellement la tenue du Jubilé et de l'année sainte en 2025. Cette mention latine est inscrite sur le timbre.
En raison de la mort du pape François le 21 avril 2025 et de l'élection du pape Léon XIV le 8 mai 2025, ce jubilé est qualifié par certains médias de "Jubilé des deux papes". C'est en effet la première fois depuis 1700 que le Saint-Siège est vacant au cours d'une année sainte. 
This visit to Sarajevo on June 6, 2015, took place 20 years after the end of the conflict that bloodied Bosnia & Herzegovina from 1992 onward, and its purpose was to preserve peace in a city that symbolizes multiculturalism.
On December 24, 2025, one of the three postal administrations of Bosnia & Herzegovina, BH Pošta Sarajevo, issued a stamp (3.30 BAM, print run: 10,000, design: Brankica Sumenić-Bajić) paying tribute to Pope Francis ("Papa Franjo" in Bosnian).

On May 9, 2024, the Solemnity of the Ascension, Pope Francis published the Bull of Indiction, "Spes non confundit" ("Hope does not disappoint"), officially announcing the Jubilee and Holy Year in 2025. This Latin phrase is inscribed on the stamp.
Due to the death of Pope Francis on April 21, 2025, and the election of Pope Leo XIV on May 8, 2025, this Jubilee is referred to by some media outlets as the "Jubilee of the Two Popes." Indeed, it is the first time since 1700 that the Holy See has been vacant during a Holy Year.  

EUROPA 2022 (Stories and Myths) stamp set on cover from Bulgaria

Série EUROPA 2022 (Mythes et légendes) sur lettre de Bulgarie 

Le 7 décembre 2022, la poste bulgare a mis en circulation une jolie série (2 timbres), illustrant le thème EUROPA choisi cette année-là par l'organisation PostEurop, les légendes et mythes ("Истории и митове" en bulgare).
Comme de coutume, la poste bulgare a décliné cette série EUROPA (conception : Deya Valcheva) en plusieurs versions : feuillet composé de 8 timbres (4 de chaque, tirage : 4000 feuillets), carnet de 8 timbres non dentelés (4 timbres de chaque, tirage : 3500 carnets) et bloc-feuillet avec les 2 timbres (tirage : 6000).
Les 2 timbres (1,25 et 2,70 BGN) extraits du feuillet, ont été utilisés sur la lettre ci-dessous envoyée le 18 janvier 2026 depuis Sofia. Merci beaucoup Mihnea !
Cette série illustre une légende à l'origine de la tradition de la fête du 1er mars en Bulgarie, appelée Martenitsa, impliquant le Khan Asparoukh et sa sœur Houba. 
On December 7, 2022, the Bulgarian Post put into circulation a charming series (2 stamps) illustrating the EUROPA theme chosen that year by PostEurop: Stories and myths ("Истории и митове" in Bulgarian).
As usual, the Bulgarian Post produced this EUROPA series (designed by Deya Valcheva) in several versions: a sheetlet of 8 stamps (4 of each design, print run: 4,000 sheetlets), a booklet of 8 imperforated stamps (4 of each design, print run: 3,500 booklets), and a souvenir sheet with both stamps (print run: 6,000).
The two stamps (1.25 and 2.70 BGN) from the sheetlet have been used on the cover below, sent on January 18, 2026, from Sofia. Thank you so much, Mihnea!
This series illustrates a legend that gave rise to the tradition of the March 1st festival in Bulgaria, called Martenitsa, involving Khan Asparukh and his sister Huba.  

Au VIIème siècle, les Bulgares, commandés par le Khan Asparoukh, arrivent par vagues successives dans le bassin du bas-Danube, où ils fonderont leur premier état. Le peuple bulgare vit alors sous la menace des invasions khazares.
Ainsi, en 681, les Bulgares arrivent aux portes des Balkans et de l'Empire romain d'Orient : les khans Asparoukh, Kouber et Altsek, fils de Koubrat, envoyèrent vers le sud leur frère Bayan et leur sœur Houba, qui, ayant trouvé des terres bonnes à conquérir, attachèrent un fil blanc à la patte du faucon qu'ils s'apprêtaient à renvoyer vers leur frère Asparoukh sur l'autre rive du Danube.
À ce moment, l'armée romaine s'approcha et des flèches les blessèrent : leur sang colora le fil. Bayan et Houba arrivèrent finalement à retraverser le fleuve, mais ils étaient gravement blessés. Asparoukh fit alors plusieurs morceaux du fil teinté de blanc et de rouge, et en para ses soldats, afin de leur donner le cœur à combattre l'Empire romain. Bayan et Houba survécurent encore assez longtemps pour voir leur frère Asparoukh passer à son tour le Danube afin de conquérir le territoire de la Bulgarie actuelle.
Ce jour-là était le 1er mars, jour du Nouvel An selon la tradition de l'époque. Ils baptisèrent les fils de laine blancs et rouges du nom du mois de mars, et les nommèrent "Martenitsa". La Martenitsa devint un symbole de paix et d'amour, de santé et de bonheur. Le blanc symbolise la pureté et l'honnêteté dans les relations, et le rouge représente la vie, la passion et la cordialité dans l'amitié et l'amour mutuel. 
In the 7th century, the Bulgars, led by Khan Asparukh, arrived in successive waves in the lower Danube basin, where they would establish their first state. The Bulgar people lived under the threat of Khazar invasions.
Thus, in 681, the Bulgars reached the borders of the Balkans and the Eastern Roman Empire. Khans Asparukh, Kuber, and Altsek, sons of Kubrat, sent their brother Bayan and sister Huba south. Having found suitable lands to conquer, they tied a white thread to the leg of the falcon they were about to send back to their brother Asparukh on the other side of the Danube.
At that moment, the Roman army approached, and arrows wounded them; their blood stained the thread. Bayan and Huba eventually managed to cross the river again, but they were seriously injured. Asparukh then made several pieces of thread dyed white and red, and used them to adorn his soldiers, to give them courage to fight the Roman Empire. Bayan and Huba survived long enough to see their brother Asparukh cross the Danube in turn to conquer the territory of present-day Bulgaria.
That day was March 1st, New Year's Day according to the tradition of the time. They named the white and red woolen threads after the month of March, calling them "Martenitsa". The Martenitsa became a symbol of peace and love, health and happiness. White symbolizes purity and honesty in relationships, and red represents life, passion, and warmth in friendship and mutual love.  

"Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic Games" stamp on FDC from Monaco

Depuis sa première participation à des jeux olympiques d'hiver en 1984 (Sarajevo), la principauté de Monaco n'a engagé des athlètes que dans 2 disciplines : le bobsleigh et le ski alpin.
Lors des jeux olympiques d'hiver de Milano Cortina (Italie), organisés du 6 au 22 février 2026, la délégation monégasque n'était composée que d'un athlète, Arnaud Alessandria (né en 1993), engagé dans des épreuves de ski alpin (descente et Super-G), la plus petite délégation depuis 1984.
Monaco a la particularité d'être le pays ayant participé au plus grand nombre de jeux olympiques d'été et d'hiver (34 éditions) sans avoir jamais remporté la moindre médaille...
Since its first participation at the Olympic Winter Games in 1984 (Sarajevo), the Principality of Monaco has engaged athletes only in two disciplines : alpine skiing and bobsleigh. 
At the Milano Cortina Winter Olympics (Italy), held from February 6 to 22, 2026, the Monegasque delegation consisted of only one athlete, Arnaud Alessandria (born in 1993), competing in alpine skiing events (downhill and Super-G), the smallest delegation since 1984.
Monaco has the particularity of being the country having the most appearances at the Summer and Winter Olympics (34 editions) without ever having won a medal ... 

Le 5 février 2026, l'Office des timbres de Monaco a mis en circulation un timbre spécial (1,52€, tirage : 40000) consacré à ces jeux olympiques d'hiver de Milano Cortina 2026.
C'est ce timbre (conception : Alain Giampaoli), imprimé en feuillet de 10 timbres, qui figure sur le FDC officiel ci-dessus, avec illustration à gauche représentant le palais princier.
Ce timbre inclut l'emblème du comité olympique monégasque et représente des athlètes dans des épreuves de patinage artistique, bobsleigh (à 2) et ski alpin. 
Pour rappel, le prince Albert II de Monaco (président du comité olympique monégasque depuis 1985) a participé aux jeux olympiques d'hiver de 1988, 1992, 1994, 1998 et 2002 en tant que membre de l'équipe monégasque de bobsleigh. 
On February 5, 2026, the Monaco Stamp Office put into circulation a special stamp (€1.52, print run: 40,000) commemorating the Milan-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games.
This stamp (designed by Alain Giampaoli), printed in a sheetlet of 10, is present on the official first day cover above, with an illustration of the Prince's Palace to the left.
This stamp includes the emblem of the Monegasque Olympic Committee and depicts athletes competing in figure skating, two-man bobsleigh, and alpine skiing.
As a reminder, Prince Albert II of Monaco (President of the Monegasque Olympic Committee since 1985) participated in the 1988, 1992, 1994, 1998, and 2002 Winter Olympic Games as a member of the Monegasque bobsleigh team.  

Stamps for greeting cards on "World Heritage" prepaid card from China

Timbres pour cartes de vœux sur carte pré-timbrée "Patrimoine mondial" de Chine 

Un grand merci Wenbo pour l'envoi de cette intéressante carte pré-timbrée le 23 février 2026 depuis la ville de Yangzhou (située dans le centre de la province du Jiangsu) !
Je ne connais pas la date précise (en 2009 a priori) de mise en circulation de cette carte incluant un timbre pré-imprimé (0,80 yuan) reproduisant le logo du Patrimoine mondial de l'UNESCO.
Cette carte est en particulier consacré au Musée du tombeau du roi de Guangling (dynastie Han) à Yangzhou.
Le jardin de Hanling, également connu sous le nom de tombeau impérial du roi de Guangling, est une zone touristique nationale de premier plan en Chine. À l'intérieur se trouvent les tombeaux bien conservés de Liu Xu, premier roi Guangling de la dynastie des Han occidentaux (206 avant J.-C. – 24 après J.-C.), et de son épouse, ainsi que leurs cercueils en bois.
Ce tombeau est surnommé "palais souterrain" en raison de ses dimensions imposantes, de sa structure complexe et de la qualité exceptionnelle de sa construction parmi les tombeaux similaires en Chine.

I don't know the exact date (presumably in 2009) when this postcard, which includes a pre-printed stamp (0.80 yuan) reproducing the UNESCO World Heritage logo, was put into circulation.
This postcard focuses specifically on the Guangling King's Tomb Museum (Han Dynasty) in Yangzhou.
Hanling Garden, also known as the imperial tomb of Guangling King, is a leading national tourist destination in China. Inside are the well-preserved tombs of Liu Xu, the first Guangling King of the Western Han Dynasty (206 BC–AD 24), and his queen, and their wooden coffins.
This tomb is called an "underground palace" for its large scale, the most complicated structure and the most excellent workmanship among similar tombs in China. 

La commanderie de Guangling était une commanderie historique de Chine, ayant existé des dynasties Han à Tang, située dans l'actuelle province centrale du Jiangsu, sur la côte centrale de la Chine.
Elle tirait son nom de Guangling, ancien nom de Yangzhou. Au début de la dynastie Han, la commanderie était connue sous le nom de Dongyang et fit successivement partie du royaume de Wu puis du royaume de Jiangdu. En 121 avant J.-C., Jiangdu fut aboli et Guangling devint une commanderie. En 117 avant J.-C., Guangling fut octroyée à Liu Xu, fils de l'empereur Wu régnant, et érigée en royaume. Liu Xu et ses descendants gouvernèrent Guangling jusqu'à l'usurpation du pouvoir par Wang Mang. 
Wenbo a utilisé 2 autres timbres faisant respectivement partie de 2 séries "Timbres spéciaux pour cartes de vœux" émises le 8 août 2013 (célébration, 1,20 yuan, conception : Yue Xin) et le 19 mai 2015 (routards, 3 yuan, conception : Song Jian, Liu Jing).
A noter aussi à gauche ce cachet spécial rouge représentant un sceau royal en forme de tortue (celui du roi Liu Xu je suppose).
The Guangling Commandery was a historical commandery in China, existing from the Han to the Tang dynasties, located in what is now Jiangsu Province, on the central coast of China.
It took its name from Guangling, the ancient name for Yangzhou. At the beginning of the Han dynasty, the commandery was known as Dongyang and was successively part of the Kingdom of Wu and then the Kingdom of Jiangdu. In 121 BC, Jiangdu was abolished, and Guangling became a commandery. In 117 BC, Guangling was granted to Liu Xu, son of the reigning Emperor Wu, and established as a kingdom. Liu Xu and his descendants ruled Guangling until Wang Mang usurped power.
Wenbo used two other stamps, from series entitled  "Special-use stamps for greeting cards", issued respectively on August 8, 2013 (Brilliant, 1.20 yuan, design: Yue Xin) and May 19, 2015 (Backpackers, 3 yuan, design: Song Jian, Liu Jing).
Also noteworthy on the left is the special red cachet depicting a tortoise-shaped royal seal (presumably that of King Liu Xu).

On y voit en particulier les 2 magnifiques tours-portes ("que") qui se dressent sur la plateforme.
Fréquentes devant les anciens palais, temples et tombeaux, elles sont généralement disposées de part et d'autre, avec une plateforme centrale sur laquelle est construite une tour de guet. Ces 2 tours sont souvent appelées "tours-portes mère et enfant".

In particular, the two magnificent gate towers ("que") that stand on the platform are clearly visible.
Common in front of ancient palaces, temples, and tombs, they are usually arranged on either side, with a central platform on which a watchtower is built. These two towers are often called the "mother-and-son gate towers."   

"75 Years of Diplomatic Relations" joint stamp set with Laos, on FDC from Thailand

Série "75 ans de relations diplomatiques", commune avec le Laos, sur FDC de Thaïlande 

Le Laos et la Thaïlande entretiennent des relations bilatérales depuis l'époque de leurs prédécesseurs, les royaumes de Lan Xang et d'Ayutthaya, au 15ème siècle.
Les deux pays partagent une frontière et présentent des similitudes linguistiques et culturelles. La région thaïlandaise d'Isan, au nord-est du pays, possède des racines laotiennes particulièrement profondes.
La diplomatie s'est concentrée sur le Mékong, avec l'ambition d'en faire un "fleuve de paix et d'amitié véritables". Les relations diplomatiques entre les deux états modernes ont été établies en 1950, mais la coopération transfrontalière a véritablement débuté à la fin de la Guerre froide. 
Le 19 décembre 2025, les administrations postales des 2 pays ont mis en circulation une intéressante série commune (2 timbres) à l'occasion du 75ème anniversaire de l'établissement de ces relations diplomatiques. 
La poste thaïlandaise a imprimé ces 2 timbres (5 THB, tirage : 65000 chacun) dans un même feuillet composé de 10 timbres (5 paires).
Un grand merci Chamnan pour l'envoi de cette jolie lettre le Premier Jour d'émission (2025 correspondant à l'année 2568 dans le calendrier bouddhiste) depuis le bureau principal de Bangkok, affranchie avec 2 paires de cette série commune ! 
Laos and Thailand have maintained bilateral relations since the time of their predecessors, the kingdoms of Lan Xang and Ayutthaya, in the 15th century.
The two countries share a border and exhibit linguistic and cultural similarities. The Thai region of Isan, in the northeast of the country, has particularly deep Laotian roots.
Diplomacy has focused on the Mekong River, with the ambition of making it a "river of true peace and friendship." Diplomatic relations between the two modern states were established in 1950, but cross-border cooperation truly began at the end of the Cold War.
On December 19, 2025, the postal administrations of the two countries issued an interesting joint series (two stamps) to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of these diplomatic relations.
The Thai postal service printed these two stamps (5 THB, print run: 65,000 each) in a single sheet of 10 stamps (5 pairs).

La Thaïlande et le Laos entretiennent depuis longtemps des liens étroits à travers la langue, la littérature, la religion, la culture et les traditions, notamment le Naga, une créature mythique, que les deux nations vénèrent comme protecteur du bouddhisme et symbole d'abondance.
Les Nagas gardent les trésors de la nature, sont attachés à l'eau et apportent la prospérité. 
Le premier timbre (conception : Thaneth Ponchaiwong pour la poste thaïlandaise) représente Phaya Si Satta Nakharat, un Naga vert émeraude aspergeant d'eau et libérant des fleurs de lotus, un geste symbolique d'amitié envers le pays voisin et de protection sur le Mékong. 
L'autre timbre (conception : Vongsavanh Damlongsouk pour la poste laotienne) met à l'honneur le Virupaksha Naga d'or, censé apporter chance, succès et bonheur à ceux qui croient en cette créature mythique. 
A noter que le logo officiel de ces 75 ans de relations diplomatiques est présent en haut à droite sur les 2 timbres. Ce logo a été dévoilé le 20 février 2025 à Bangkok à l'occasion de la visite officielle du premier ministre laotien.
Ce motif doré représente des monuments emblématiques tels que le Phra That Sri Song Rak en Thaïlande et le Pha That Luang au Laos. Le cadre complexe en forme de cœur, orné des fleurs et drapeaux nationaux, témoigne des liens culturels et historiques profonds qui se sont tissés au fil des décennies.
Thailand and Laos have long shared close ties through language, literature, religion, culture, and traditions, including the Naga, a mythical creature revered by both nations as a protector of Buddhism and a symbol of abundance.
Nagas guard nature's treasures, are associated with water, and bring prosperity.
The first stamp (designed by Thaneth Ponchaiwong for the Thai postal service) depicts Phaya Si Satta Nakharat, an emerald green Naga sprinkling water and releasing lotus blossoms, a symbolic gesture of friendship toward the neighboring country and protection over the Mekong River.
The other stamp (designed by Vongsavanh Damlongsouk for the Laotian postal service) features the golden Virupaksha Naga, believed to bring good fortune, success, and happiness to those who believe in this mythical creature. 
It is worth noting that the official logo commemorating these 75 years of diplomatic relations is featured in the upper right corner of both stamps. This logo was unveiled on February 20, 2025, in Bangkok during the official visit of the Laotian Prime Minister.
This gold-toned motif depicts iconic landmarks such as Phra That Sri Song Rak in Thailand and Pha That Luang in Laos. The intricate heart-shaped frame, adorned with national flowers and flags, reflects the deep cultural and historical ties that have flourished over decades. 

"Fête du Timbre 2026 - Street arts" stamp and souvenir sheet on FDCs from France

Timbre et bloc-feuillet "Fête du Timbre 2026 - Arts de la rue" sur FDCs de France 

Après un cycle de 3 ans consacré au voyage (train, vélo, bateau), changement de thème pour la Fête du Timbre depuis 2025 avec un focus sur les arts de la rue.
Le Street Art et les peintres de rue étaient en particulier à l'honneur lors de cette Fête du Timbre organisée à travers la France du 6 au 8 mars 2026.
Cette année, 75 villes organisaient cette Fête du Timbre, situées dans 63 départements différents de France métropolitaine.
Pour rappel, cette manifestation philatélique, qui a lieu chaque année depuis 1938 à l'initiative de la FFAP ("Fédération Française des Associations Philatéliques"), était appelée "Journée du Timbre" jusqu'en 1999. L'émission d'un timbre spécifique concernant cette Journée n'a eu lieu qu'en 1944. 
After a three-year cycle dedicated to travel (train, bicycle, boat), the theme for the Fête du Timbre is changing since 2025 with a focus on street arts.
Street Art and street painters were in the spotlight in particular at this "Fête du Timbre", organized across France from March 6 to March 8, 2026.
This year, 75 cities hosted this "Fête du Timbre", located in 63 different departments of metropolitan France.
As a reminder, this philatelic event, which takes place every year since 1938 at the initiative of the FFAP ("French Federation of Philatelic Associations"), was called "Journée du Timbre" ("Stamp Day") until 1999. The issue of a specific stamp devoted to this Stamp Day only took place in 1944. 

Comme les années précédentes, un timbre (1,52€, tirage : 720000) et un bloc-feuillet (3,10€, tirage : 350000) ont été mis en circulation le 6 mars 2026, conçus respectivement par l'artiste graveur André Lavergne (né en 1946) et l'artiste peintre Hopare (Alexandre Monteiro, né en 1989, d'origine portugaise), associé au mouvement de l'art urbain (Street Art). Il est notamment actif dans la peinture murale, la peinture sur toile, la sculpture et le travail sur azulejos.
Ce bloc-feuillet représente une peinture murale caractéristique de Hopare (créée a priori spécialement pour cette Fête du Timbre), montrant un visage féminin cerné par différents types de fleurs.
Le bloc-feuillet et le timbre "Peintres de rue" figurent sur le pli Premier Jour ci-dessus, avec TAD ("Street Art et peintres de rue") conçu par André Lavergne, de la ville d'Oullins-Pierre-Bénite (69 - Rhône).
As in previous years, a stamp (€1.52, print run: 720,000) and a souvenir sheet (€3.10, print run: 350,000) have been issued on March 6, 2026, designed respectively by the engraver André Lavergne (born in 1946) and artist Hopare (Alexandre Monteiro, born in 1989, of Portuguese origin), associated with the urban art (Street Art) movement. He is particularly active in mural painting, painting on canvas, sculpture, and azulejo tile work.
This souvenir sheet features a mural characteristic of Hopare's work (created, it seems, specifically for this "Fête du Timbre"), depicting a woman's face surrounded by various types of flowers.
The souvenir sheet and the "Street Painters" stamp have been used on the First Day Cover above, with cancellations ("Street Art and street painters") designed by André Lavergne, from the town of Oullins-Pierre-Bénite (69 - Rhône). 

Comme les années précédentes, à partir de 10€ d'achat lors de cette manifestation auprès des associations philatéliques locales (Philapostel Rhône-Alpes à Oullins-Pierre-Bénite), l'entier postal "Le timbre en mode Street Art" (tarif "Lettre Verte", tirage limité) ci-dessus (recto) et ci-dessous (verso) était offert, avec le timbre "Peintres de rue" pré-imprimé, et TAD d'Oullins-Pierre-Bénite ici.

Autant je trouve le bloc-feuillet magnifique (ce visage féminin au regard intense nous interroge sur ce que nous voyons du monde et sur ce que nous choisissons d'y regarder) autant le timbre est brouillon et peu lisible, avec trop de peintres de rue sur une si petite surface. dommage.
While I find the souvenir sheet magnificent (this female face with its intense gaze makes us question what we see of the world and what we choose to look at), the stamp itself is messy and difficult to read, with too many street artists on such a small surface. too bad.

Le 8 août 1967 à Bangkok, 5 pays (Indonésie, Malaisie, Philippines, Singapour, Thaïlande) fondaient l'Association des Nations de l'Asie du Sud-Est (ASEAN), une organisation politique, économique et culturelle ayant pour objectif de faire barrage aux mouvements communistes, de développer la croissance et le développement et d'assurer la stabilité dans la région, dans un contexte de guerre froide.
L'ASEAN est aujourd'hui composée de 10 pays membres, après les adhésions de Brunei Darussalam en 1984, du Vietnam en 1995, du Laos en 1997, du Myanmar en 1997 et du Cambodge en 1999, un ensemble de 625 millions d'habitants (9% de la population mondiale) et la 7ème puissance économique mondiale.
En 2007, une première émission commune (10 timbres différents) consacrée à des édifices emblématiques de chaque pays, avait été mise en circulation pour célébrer le 40ème anniversaire de l'ASEAN.

Après une série ayant pour thème commun les fleurs nationales en 2017 (50ème anniversaire de l'ASEAN), les 10 pays membres de l'ASEAN ont choisi le thème des costumes traditionnels (comme pour les timbres "Euromed Postal"...) pour une nouvelle série émise en 2019. Depuis 2017, le logo "ASEAN Post" est présent sur ces timbres communs.
Le 8 août 2019, la poste du sultanat de Brunei Darussalam a mis en circulation ce timbre "ASEAN Post" illustrant un couple de jeunes portant le costume national. Ce timbre (20 sen) figure sur le FDC officiel ci-dessus, envoyé le 18 décembre 2025 depuis la ville de Seria. Merci beaucoup Andy !
Le costume traditionnel des femmes bruneiennes comprend le baju kurung, une longue tunique portée sur une longue jupe. Influencé par les codes vestimentaires islamiques, ce costume est généralement accompagné d'un foulard (tudung/tudong) qui couvre entièrement les cheveux, le cou et les épaules.
Les hommes brunéiens portent trois styles différents de la combinaison de base tunique et pantalon appelée baju kurung : le baju kurung cekak musang, le baju kurung teluk belanga et un troisième style spécialement pour le costume traditionnel brunéien avec un mouchoir ou un morceau de tissu attaché à l'emplacement des boutons. Les hommes brunéiens portent également un autre costume composé d'une chemise à manches longues (baju) et d'un pantalon long (seluar) confectionnés dans le même tissu, appelé baju cara melayu. 
Andy a utilisé également 3 timbres se-tenant (30 sen) émis le 5 août 2001 sous forme de bloc-feuillet, consacrés au Camp international des jeunes (accueillant les jeunes de 17 à 24 ans du monde entier), organisé cette année-là en République tchèque.
After a series devoted to the theme of national flowers in 2017 (50th anniversary of ASEAN), the 10 ASEAN countries chose the theme of traditional costumes (as for "Euromed Postal" stamps...) for a new series issued in 2019. Since 2017, the "ASEAN Post" logo has been present on these joint stamps.
On August 8, 2019, the Brunei Darussalam postal service issued this "ASEAN Post" stamp depicting a young couple in traditional dress. This stamp (20 sen) is present on the official FDC above, sent on December 18, 2025, from the city of Seria. Thank you very much, Andy! 
The traditional Bruneian women's costume includes the baju kurung, a long tunic over a long skirt. Influenced by Islamic codes of dress, the costume will typically be accompanied by a headscarf (tudung/tudong) that covers the hair, neck and shoulders completely. 
Bruneian men wear three different styles of the basic tunic and trousers combination called baju kurung: the baju kurung cekak musang, the baju kurung teluk belanga and a third style especially for Brunei traditional dress with a handkerchief or a piece of cloth attached where the buttons are. Bruneian men also wear another costume consisting of a long-sleeved shirt (baju) and long trousers (seluar) made of the same material called the baju cara melayu. 
Andy also used 3 se-tenant (30 sen) stamps issued on August 5, 2001 in the form of a souvenir sheet, dedicated to the International Youth Camp (hosting young people aged 17 to 24 from all over the world), organized that year in Czech Republic.  

Euromed Postal 2024 (Sports in the Mediterranean) stamp set on cover from Albania

Série Euromed Postal 2024 (Sports de Méditerranée) sur lettre d'Albanie 

Pour rappel, depuis 2014, certains pays membres (23 au total actuellement) de l'Union Postale pour la Méditerranée (PUMed), une union restreinte de l'UPU, émettent chaque année des timbres "Euromed Postal" ayant un thème commun lié à la région méditerranéenne.
Après les festivals de Méditerranée en 2023, les 14 administrations postales participantes en 2024 ont émis des timbres "Euromed Postal" illustrant le thème des sports de Méditerranée ("Sportet në Mesdhe" en albanais).
Avec plus d'un an de retard (comme de coutume ces dernières années), la poste albanaise a mis en circulation, le 23 janvier 2026, sa 5ème série Euromed Postal (2 timbres avec millésime 2024) consacrée à cette thématique des sports de Méditerranée.
As a reminder, since 2014, some member countries (currently 23 in total) of the Postal Union for the Mediterranean (PUMed), a restricted union of the UPU, are issuing each year  "Euromed Postal" stamps devoted to a common theme related to the Mediterranean region. 

Following Mediterranean Festivals in 2023, the 14 participating postal administrations issued in 2024 different "Euromed Postal" stamps dedicated to the theme of Sports in the Mediterranean ("Sportet në Mesdhe" in Albanian). 
With more than one-year delay (as usual in recent years), the Albanian Post put into circulation, on January 23, 2026, its 5th Euromed Postal series (2 stamps with year 2024) dedicated in particular to this theme of Sports in the Mediterranean.  

 

 

Conçus par L. Kraja, ces 2 timbres, n'incluant pas curieusement le logo Euromed Postal - un faucon stylisé, ont été utilisés sur la lettre ci-dessus envoyée le 25 janvier 2026 depuis Tirana, la capitale. Merci beaucoup Sabri !Ces 2 timbres illustrent respectivement différents pictogrammes de disciplines sportives - cyclisme, athlétisme, tir, natation (140 ALL, tirage : 30000) et football, haltérophilie, tir à l'arc, boxe (150 ALL, tirage : 60000) - sur fond de carte géographique du bassin méditerranéen (amusant de constater que l'archipel de Malte est représenté par un disque de taille disproportionnée...).

Cette série rappelle que les jeux méditerranéens, un événement multisports international majeur qui se tient tous les quatre ans et rassemble les nations riveraines de la Méditerranée (dont l'Albanie), visent à promouvoir l'amitié, les échanges culturels, la coopération et la paix entre les pays participants grâce au langage universel du sport. 
Designed by L. Kraja, these two stamps, curiously lacking the Euromed Postal logo - a stylized falcon - have been used on the cover above, sent on January 25, 2026, from Tirana, the capital. Thank you very much, Sabri!
These two stamps respectively illustrate different pictograms of sporting disciplines - cycling, athletics, shooting, swimming (140 ALL, print run: 30,000) and football, weightlifting, archery, boxing (150 ALL, print run: 60,000) - with a map of the Mediterranean basin in the background (funny to note that the Maltese archipelago is represented by a disproportionately large disc...).

This stamp set serves as a reminder that the Mediterranean Games, a major international multi-sport event held every four years that brings together the nations bordering the Mediterranean (including Albania), aim to promote friendship, cultural exchange, cooperation and peace between participating countries through the universal language of sport.

 

"Hluboká Castle" stamp on FDC from Czech Republic

Timbre "Château de Hluboká" sur FDC de République tchèque 

Le 8 octobre 2025, la poste tchèque a mis en circulation un timbre consacré au château de Hluboká, un château néogothique situé dans la ville de Hluboká nad Vltavou, dans la région de Bohême-du-Sud.
Ce timbre (tarif permanent "B" - envoi domestique standard jusqu'à 50g en mode économique - 31 CZK actuellement, tirage : 300000, conception : Petr Minka) figure sur le FDC officiel ci-dessous (tirage : 2200) avec TAD de Hluboká nad Vltavou. Merci beaucoup Slavek ! 
A noter que ce timbre a été imprimé en feuille de 50 timbre ainsi que dans un carnet (8 timbres + 4 vignettes, tirage : 10700 carnets).
Le château de Hluboká, surplombant la Vltava, est l'un des plus beaux châteaux de République tchèque. 
À l'origine, le château est construit par Ottokar II de Bohême dans la deuxième moitié du 13ème siècle, il est reconstruit par les seigneurs de Jindřichův Hradec au 16ème siècle, dans un style Renaissance. Il est vendu en 1661 à la famille Schwarzenberg, et adapté dans un style baroque. 
On October 8, 2025, the Czech Post issued a stamp dedicated to Hluboká Castle, a neo-Gothic castle located in the town of Hluboká nad Vltavou, in the South Bohemian region.
This stamp (permanent rate "B" - standard domestic mail up to 50g in economy mode - currently 31 CZK, print run: 300,000, design: Petr Minka) is present on the official FDC below (print run: 2,200) with postmarks from Hluboká nad Vltavou. Thank you very much, Slavek!
To note that this stamp was printed in a sheet of 50 stamps as well as in a booklet (8 stamps + 4 labels, print run: 10,700 booklets).
Hluboká Castle, overlooking the Vltava River, is one of the most beautiful castles in Czech Republic.
Originally built by Ottokar II of Bohemia in the second half of the 13th century, the castle was rebuilt by the lords of Jindřichův Hradec in the 16th century in a Renaissance style. It was sold in 1661 to the Schwarzenberg family and remodeled in a Baroque style.  

Il est ensuite démoli et doit son apparence actuelle au prince Johann Adam de Schwarzenberg qui le fait reconstruire, en suivant l'exemple néogothique du château de Windsor par les architectes Franz Beer et Ferdinand Deworetzky, entre 1841 et 1871.
La plus grande pièce est la bibliothèque. La salle à manger est ornée de remarquables tapisseries flamandes du 17ème siècle. Le parc (1,9 km2) est également redessiné dans le style des jardins anglais. 
Son dernier propriétaire privé quitte la Bohême avant la Seconde Guerre mondiale. La propriété est nationalisée en 1947, ainsi que 61000 hectares et de nombreux immeubles et usines possédés par la famille Schwarzenberg.
Le timbre montre l'impressionnante façade principale du château, arborant les armoiries du dernier propriétaire, Adolf de Schwarzenberg, dans son coin inférieur gauche. 
Le TAD représente une partie du blason de la famille Schwarzenberg, la fameuse tête de Turc et le corbeau symbole de la conquête de la forteresse au 16ème siècle. 
It was subsequently demolished and owes its current appearance to Prince Johann Adam von Schwarzenberg, who had it rebuilt, following the Neo-Gothic model of Windsor Castle, by architects Franz Beer and Ferdinand Deworetzky, between 1841 and 1871.
The largest room is the library. The dining room is adorned with remarkable 17th-century Flemish tapestries. The park (1.9 km²) was also redesigned in the style of English gardens.
Its last private owner left Bohemia before the Second World War. The property was nationalized in 1947, along with 61,000 hectares and numerous buildings and factories owned by the Schwarzenberg family.
The stamp shows the impressive main facade of the castle, displaying the coat of arms of the last owner, Adolf von Schwarzenberg, in its lower left corner.
The postmark represents part of the Schwarzenberg family coat of arms, the famous Turk's head and the raven symbol of the conquest of the fortress in the 16th century.
