"Apollo–Soyuz Spacecraft Docking, 50th Anniversary" stamp on FDC from Kyrgyzstan (KEP)

The year 2025 marked the 50th anniversary of a major event in the history of space exploration: the first joint experimental crewed flight bringing together American astronauts and Soviet cosmonauts, carried out as part of the Apollo-Soyuz Test Project (ASTP).
On July 17, 1975, the Soviet spacecraft "Soyuz-19" and the American spacecraft "Apollo" successfully docked in Earth orbit (at an altitude of 225 km), leading to the famous "handshake in space" between representatives of the two space superpowers.
The United States was represented by astronauts Thomas Stafford, Vance Brand, and Donald Slayton, while the USSR was represented by cosmonauts Alexei Leonov and Valery Kubasov.
During the docking phase, crew members carried out four transfers between the two spacecraft. In addition to the symbolic handshake, the crews conducted several important scientific and technical experiments in orbit.
Once the mission was successfully completed, both crews returned safely to Earth. The success of the Apollo-Soyuz program marked a significant step in easing international tensions and served as a symbol of fruitful cooperation between nations for the peaceful exploration and use of outer space.

This first joint flight involving American astronauts and Soviet cosmonauts laid the foundation for a partnership in peaceful space exploration. It paved the way for subsequent joint projects and programs, such as "Shuttle-Mir" and the International Space Station (ISS).
On December 29, 2025, the Kyrgyz Express Post (KEP)—Kyrgyzstan's second designated postal operator (alongside Kyrgyz Post)—issued a stamp commemorating the 50th anniversary of the docking of the Apollo and Soyuz spacecraft.
This stamp (200 KGS, print run: 7,500), designed by Daria Maier based on an illustration by Nadezhda Kornitsel, appears on the official First Day Cover above (print run: 400), mailed from the capital, Bishkek.

This stamp was printed (in Moldova by Nova Imprim) as part of the attractive souvenir sheet above, which consists of five stamps and one label, with the flags of the United States and the USSR in the upper margin.
The label was designed based on the famous photograph showing the handshake between Stafford and Leonov.

"Spiders of Kyrgyzstan" stamp set on FDC from Kyrgyzstan (KEP)

Spiders are the central order of the subphylum Chelicerata within the phylum of arthropods. They are widespread across the globe, including in Kyrgyzstan, inhabiting environments ranging from sandy deserts, caves, and lakes to forest canopies and rocky moraines near glaciers.
The vast majority of spiders are active predators, hunting primarily invertebrates and using a system of external digestion. Many spiders catch their prey using sticky webs, while other types of silk are used for passive aerial dispersal.
Around 650 spider species from 28 families inhabit the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic.
On December 29, 2025, the Kyrgyz Express Post (KEP), the second designated postal operator (the other being the Kyrgyz Post) of Kyrgyzstan, put into circulation a lovely set (3 stamps) dedicated to some of these spiders found in Kyrgyzstan.

These 3 stamps (print run: 7,500 each) are present on the official FDC below (print run: 400) sent from Bishkek, the capital.

On the First Day envelope, the illustration features the male Ladybird Spider (Eresus kollari), a member of the Velvet spider family Eresidae. This species sporadically inhabits warm regions of western Eurasia and is notable for its pronounced sexual dimorphism and exceptionally sedentary lifestyle.
The Alay trapdoor spider (Raveniola alajensis, 50 KGS) is a rare representative of the Nemesiidae family, which is closely related to tarantulas. This species was officially described in 2023. Its narrow relict range covers the western part of the Alay Valley and the gorges of the tributaries of the Kyzyl-Suu (Vakhsh) River in neighboring Tajikistan. This spider digs a burrow where it lives for many years, and during winter or unfavorable conditions, it closes the entrance with a “trapdoor,” making its dwelling extremely difficult to spot.
The Asian sorrowful black widow (Latrodectus lugubris, 150 KGS) is a representative of the Cobweb spider family Theridiidae. Black widows are widely known for their sexual dimorphism and potent venom. This species is distinguished from its European counterparts by the completely velvety-black coloration of the adult female, and is distributed in warm and arid regions of Middle Asia and Southern Kazakhstan, occurring almost everywhere in semi-desert and steppe biotopes in Kyrgyzstan. The Asian sorrowful black widow's venom possesses a strong neurotoxic effect. However, with timely medical assistance, a bite does not pose a threat to human life. Despite their ominous reputation, these spiders lead a cryptic lifestyle and rarely exhibit aggression.

These 3 stamps, designed by Daria Maier (in collaboration with entomologist Dmitry Milko, senior researcher at the Institute of Biology of the National Academy of Sciences) and printed in Moldova by Nova Imprim, were each issued in a sheetlet composed of 4 stamps + 2 central labels (see above).
The Tash-Kumyr tarantula wolf spider (Karakumosa tashkumyr, 300 KGS) is a large representative of the Wolf spider family Lycosidae. The species was officially described in 2020 and is currently considered endemic to the Cis-Ferganian Kyrgyzstan. Wolf spiders do not build capture webs, they actively hunt on the ground, tracking prey thanks to their excellent nocturnal vision, and surviving the daytime heat in deep burrows. Female Wolf spiders show care for their offspring.

The above souvenir sheet (print run: 2,500) including the three stamps of this series, was also put into circulation.
Another species, Goldenrod crab-spider (Misumena vatia) – a representative of the Crab-spider family Thomisidae, is featured on the margin to the right. This species is widespread almost everywhere in Eurasia and North America and is known for the wide range of its bright coloration, which camouflages the ambush predator on various flowers and inflorescences.

The KEP has also put into circulation the 3 beautiful maxicards above (print run: 400 each), numbered from MC-158 to MC-160, concerning the 3 stamps of this series.

"Anniversaries of Great Personalities - Michelangelo" stamp on FDC from Kyrgyzstan (KEP)

Michelangelo Buonarroti (1475-1564) was a great Italian (Florentine) sculptor, painter, architect, poet, and thinker of the High Renaissance and early Baroque periods.
As it is the case practically every year, the Kyrgyz Express Post (KEP), the 2nd designated postal operator of Kyrgyzstan, put into circulation, on December 29, 2025, an interesting series (4 stamps) dedicated to different international personalities from the world of culture and science, including a stamp commemorating the 550th anniversary of Michelangelo Buonarroti's birth.
I was lucky enough to receive the official FDC below (print run: 300) sent from Bishkek, the country's capital, concerning this stamp!
This stamp (150 KGS, print run: 6,000), designed by Daria Maier and printed in Moldova by Nova Imprim, features a portrait of Michelangelo Buonarroti and his signature.

Michelangelo's creative abilities and mastery in various artistic fields define him as an archetypal Renaissance man, alongside his rival and contemporary, Leonardo da Vinci.
Some of his works are considered Renaissance masterpieces: David (1504), the Pietà (1499), exhibited in a side chapel of St. Peter's Basilica in the Vatican, Moses (1515) from the tomb of Julius II in the St. Peter in Chains Basilica in Rome, the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel, painted between 1508 and 1512, and The Last Judgment, executed between 1536 and 1541 on the altar wall of this chapel...
As an architect, he notably designed the dome of St. Peter's Basilica in the Vatican in 1508.

"Traditional Musical Instruments" stamp set on FDC from Kyrgyzstan (KEP)

Music has always held a special place in the culture of Kyrgyzstan. It accompanied the Kyrgyz people through all stages of life – from military campaigns and welcoming guests to festive celebrations and memorial rituals.
Musical instruments carried the memory of generations, helping to preserve history, legends and the national epic "Manas".
Today, traditional melodies are heard not only in folklore ensembles but also on modern stages, and some instruments are gaining new popularity in ethno-jazz and experimental music.
Kyrgyz musical culture has ancient roots and is richly represented by folk instruments, each of which reflects the character and soul of the nation.
On December 29, 2025, the Kyrgyz Express Post (KEP) issued a charming series (two stamps) depicting some of these iconic instruments, particularly the temir komuz and the komuz.
These two stamps (150 KGS and 300 KGS) are featured on the official FDC below (print run: 300) sent from Bishkek, the capital.

These two stamps (print run: 5,000 each, design: Daria Maier based on illustrations by Maxim Mardari) are respectively dedicated to the temir komuz (150 KGS) and the komuz (300 KGS), a third instrument, the kyl kyiak, being featured on the First Day Cover.
The Temir komuz is one of the most ancient Kyrgyz plucked lamellophones, a type of jaw harp. It is made of metal and produces unique, vibrating sounds created by the oscillation of the tongue within the performer’s mouth. Small in size, the temir komuz traditionally accompanied epic tales, folk songs, and improvisations, conveying mood and rhythm through breath and movement. Today, it is also used in contemporary music projects, connecting ancient traditions with new forms of art.
The Komuz is a symbol of Kyrgyz musical tradition and spiritual heritage. This three-stringed plucked instrument is carved from a single piece of wood, most often apricot or walnut. The komuz produces a melodic and expressive sound, used to perform folk melodies, dances and to accompany the "Manas" epic. Modern musicians continue to experiment with the komuz, incorporating it into compositions of various genres – from classical music to ethno-rock – while preserving its cultural essence.

These two stamps have been printed (in Moldova by Nova Imprim), each in a sheetlet (see above, print run: 1,000 sheetlets per stamp) consisting of five stamps plus one label (depicting musicians).
As part of the issue of this stamp set, the Kyrgyz Express Post also released the two maxicards below (print run: 300 each), numbered MC-165 to MC-166.

"Prehistoric Fauna - Part II" stamp set on FDC from Kyrgyzstan (KEP)

On December 29, 2025, the Kyrgyz Express Post (KEP), the second designated postal operator (the other being the Kyrgyz Post) of Kyrgyzstan, put into circulation a second part (3 stamps) of a series initiated in 2024, dedicated to prehistoric fauna and in particular to dinosaur species whose fossils were found in the Fergana Valley (west of the country), a large fertile valley shared by Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
These 3 stamps (print run: 7,500 each) are present on the official FDC below (print run: 400) sent from Bishkek, the capital.
The envelope shows a map of Kyrgyzstan with arrows indicating the locations where the fossils of these dinosaurs have been discovered.
Millions of years ago, the territory of modern Kyrgyzstan was home to remarkable creatures, whose remains today help paleontologists reconstruct the picture of the region's distant past. Unique fossils were discovered in the deposits of the Jurassic and Cretaceous periods, reflecting the richness and diversity of the region's ancient fauna.

Rhamphorhynchinae indet.
Rhamphorhynchinae indet. (50 KGS) is a representative of the order Pterosauria that lived approximately 160-145 million years ago. These ancient flying reptiles were distinguished by a long tail ending in a diamond-shaped vane, which helped stabilize their flight. Rhamphorhynchines hunted fish and small animals, inhabiting areas near water bodies.
Tashkumyrodon desideratus (150 KGS) is one of the earliest known mammals in Asia. It lived approximately 163 million years ago in the area of modern Tash-Kumyr. Tashkumyrodon was comparable in size to a small mouse, fed on insects and led a nocturnal lifestyle. Its discovery is an important contribution to the study of early mammalian evolution.
Alpkarakush kyrgyzicus (300 KGS) is a predatory theropod dinosaur that lived approximately 163 million years ago. Its remains were found in the Balabansai Formation in the Tash-Kumyr region. Alpkarakush was a terrestrial predator with a well-developed skeleton and powerful hind limbs. The discovered bones indicate a typical theropod body structure and predatory behavior. The discovery of this fossil is significant for Central Asian paleontology, as it expands the understanding of Jurassic fauna diversity in the region and sheds light on the evolutionary connections of theropods with other groups of predatory dinosaurs.

These three stamps, designed by Daria Maier (in collaboration with the Institute of Geology of the National Academy of Sciences) and printed in Moldova by Nova Imprim, were each issued in a sheetlet composed of 5 stamps + 1 label (see above) illustrating the fossils (teeth and partial skeletons) of these different dinosaurs discovered in Kyrgyzstan.

The above souvenir sheet (print run: 2,500) including the three stamps of this series, was also put into circulation.
Another species, Ferganoceratodus jurassicus, is featured on the margin to the right. It is a genus of lungfish (Dipnoi) whose remains were discovered in the Jurassic deposits in Kyrgyzstan. Lungfish are known for their unique ability to use their swim bladder as a primitive lung for breathing atmospheric air. Thus, these fish possessed both gill and pulmonary respiration.

The KEP has also put into circulation the 3 beautiful maxicards above (print run: 400 each), numbered from MC-170 to MC-172, concerning the 3 stamps of this series.

On December 29, 2025, the Kyrgyz Express Post (KEP) issued a beautiful series (two stamps) dedicated to a rare grape variety, the Uzun-Akhmat grape, listed on the Kyrgyz Republic's Red List of Threatened Species ("Red Book").
Uzun-Akhmat Grape (Vitis usunachmatica) is a rare, endemic species of the flora of the western Tian Shan mountain range. Its name originates from the Uzun-Akhmat River in the Jalal-Abad region of Kyrgyzstan. It was included in the Kyrgyz Republic Red Data Book in 1981.
These two stamps (150 KGS and 300 KGS) are featured on the official First Day Cover below (print run: 300) sent from Bishkek, the capital.

These two stamps (print run: 5,000, design: Daria Maier from photographs by Vladislav Ushakov) illustrate bunches of Uzun-Akhmat grapes at different stages of maturity, green (300 KGS) and dark (150 KG).
This plant is a perennial liana, reaching a length of up to 25–30 meters. Its leaves are large with clearly defined veins, and the clusters produce small but juicy berries of a dark purple color.
In autumn, the Uzun-Akhmat grapes paint the gorges of mountain rivers in bright colors, creating unique natural landscapes. Unfortunately, the range of this species has significantly decreased due to human activity and the clearing of natural thickets. The Uzun-Akhmat grape requires protection and careful scientific study.

These two stamps have been printed (in Moldova by Nova Imprim) in the attractive minisheet above (print run: 1,250), consisting of four pairs with vine leaves in the background.
As part of this stamp series, the Kyrgyz Express Post also issued the two maxicards below (print run: 300 each), numbered MC-167 to MC-168.

"Happy New Year - Year of the Horse" stamp on FDC from Kyrgyzstan (KEP)

After the Year of the Rooster in 2017, the Year of the Dog in 2018, the Year of the Pig in 2019, the Year of the Rat in 2020, the Year of the Ox in 2021, the Year of the Tiger in 2022, the Year of the Rabbit in 2023, the Year of the Dragon in 2024 and the Year of the Snake in 2025, the Kyrgyz Express Post (KEP), the 2nd designated postal operator (the other being the Kyrgyz Post) of Kyrgyzstan, put into circulation, on December 29, 2025, a stamp dedicated to the festivities linked to the passage to the new year, in the tradition of the Chinese lunar calendar, the Year of the Fire Horse in particular.
This stamp, designed by Diana Roşcovan and printed in Moldova by Nova Imprim, was put into circulation in a sheetlet composed of 5 stamps + 1 label.
Diana Roşcovan also designed the FDC envelope as well as the First Day postmark.
I was lucky enough to receive the very nice official FDC below (print run: 400) with cancellation from Bishkek, concerning this stamp!

This stamp (150 KGS, print run: 7,500) depicts a mischievous horse whose mane appears to be ablaze, a reference to the fire element associated with this Year of the Horse. Also noteworthy are the "Happy New Year!" messages in Chinese and English on the envelope.
The Year of the Fire Horse officially began on February 17, 2026, according to the Chinese lunar calendar, and will end on February 5, 2027.
The year 2026 is therefore the Year of the Fire Horse, the seventh animal in the twelve-year Chinese zodiac cycle, symbolizing energy, strength, freedom, and rapid progress. This sign also represents the Eastern symbol of wisdom, heroism, and talent.
In Chinese culture, the horse is considered a proud and noble animal, embodying speed, endurance, loyalty, honesty, and inner freedom. The Fire element amplifies these qualities, filling the year with passion, enthusiasm, and creativity.
According to Chinese tradition, the Year of the Horse is seen as a time of active change, new ideas, and great achievements.

Above the nice sheetlet in which that stamp was printed, with a label showing this same horse (a well as a butterfly), with the mention "Year of the Horse" in Chinese.
To note the elliptical notch on the vertical perforations on that stamp as well as the mentions "Happy New Year!" in Russian, Kyrgyz, Chinese and English in the margins.

The Kyrgyz Express Post also put into circulation on the same day the maxicard above (MC-173, print run: 500) concerning this stamp.
The tradition of celebrating the New Year in China originated approximately 3,500 years ago. The event was presumably first celebrated during the Shang Dynasty, which reigned from 1600 to 1046 B.C. The date was officially fixed during the Han Dynasty (206 B.C. - 220 A.D.).

"Anniversaries of Great Personalities - Hans Christian Andersen" stamp on FDC from Kyrgyzstan (KEP)

Hans Christian Andersen (1805-1875) was a Danish novelist, playwright, storyteller and poet, famous for his short stories and fairy tales.

His works, including "The Ugly Duckling", "The Snow Queen", "The Little Mermaid", "The Little Match Girl", have become part of the world's cultural heritage.
Andersen skillfully combined folk wisdom with deep humanism and faith in goodness. His fairy tales have been translated into hundreds of languages and are beloved by children and adults around the world, including Kyrgyzstan.
The memory of the great storyteller lives on in books, theatrical performances and screen adaptations.
April 2, the writer's birthday, is celebrated worldwide as International Children's Book Day. In 1956, the International Board on Books for Young People (IBBY) under UNESCO established the Hans Christian Andersen Award as a literary prize awarded to outstanding children's book authors.

"Interhelpo - Czechoslovak Industrial Cooperative, 100 years" stamp set on FDC from Kyrgyzstan (KEP)

In 2025, Kyrgyzstan celebrated a significant anniversary in its history: the centenary of the Czechoslovak industrial cooperative "Interhelpo". This cooperative played a pivotal role in the industrial, social, and cultural development of Kyrgyz society.
On September 5, 2025, the Kyrgyz Express Post issued a series of two stamps commemorating the 100th anniversary of this "Interhelpo" cooperative.
These two stamps (150 KGS, print run: 3,000 each, design: Daria Maier) are present on the official FDC below (print run: 300), sent from Bishkek, the capital.
The "Interhelpo" cooperative ("International Workers’ Aid") was founded in 1923 in Czechoslovakia, in the city of Žilina. Its members practiced a variety of professions: masons, engineers, electricians, textile workers, artisans, as well as doctors and teachers.
The group numbered approximately 1,070 people, including families. In 1925, the first group of Interhelpo members arrived at the train station in Pishpek (now Bishkek), the capital of Soviet Kyrgyzstan.
Rudolf Pavlovič Mareček (1888-1970), a revolutionary, engineer, and organizer of socialist construction in Central Asia, played a pivotal role in the history of Interhelpo. He was one of the key figures in the settlement of Czechoslovak workers in Kyrgyzstan, actively participated in the construction of the first industrial facilities in the city of Frunze, and initiated numerous infrastructure projects.

Thanks to Mareček and his colleagues, brickyards, textile mills, garment workshops, and furniture factories were established; the first water supply networks, roads, and power lines were laid; and schools, hospitals, and European-style apartment buildings were constructed.
Many buildings and industrial facilities built by Interhelpo members can still be seen in Bishkek today.
Interhelpo's history ended in 1943 when the cooperative was nationalized. However, the memory of this initiative and the selfless assistance of hundreds of Czechs and Slovaks remains alive in Kyrgyzstan.
The National History Museum houses rare artifacts dedicated to the lives and work of Interhelpo members, and some of their descendants still live in Bishkek and other cities in Kyrgyzstan.
Elvira Mareček, granddaughter of the founder of Interhelpo (who currently resides in Bishkek), created the portrait of Rudolf Mareček featured on the stamp above on the right. She also redesigned the Interhelpo emblem, originally created by Mareček himself, for its centenary, which is reproduced on the other stamp and on the envelope.

These two stamps were printed (in Moldova by Nova Imprim) in the attractive souvenir sheet above (print run: 1,500), which consists of four stamps and four labels.
The top margin features a photograph of Rudolf Mareček bidding farewell to the first convoy at Žilina station (he was unable to travel with the first group to Kyrgyzstan due to circumstances beyond his control).
The first label, in the upper right corner, shows one of the first workshops, set up directly under the trees shortly after arrival in Pihpek. The second label, right next to it, depicts the first Fordson tractor imported by the Interhelpo cooperative in 1925.
The third and fourth labels (lower left corner) show Interhelpo's first sewing workshop and a commemorative plaque displayed in Bishkek.

"Taste Kyrgyzstan! Uzgen rice" stamp on FDC from Kyrgyzstan (KEP)

Uzgen rice ("devzira") is distinguished not only by its excellent taste but also by its ability to be almost 100% digestible. It is considered the best and most expensive variety of rice, and in Central Asian countries, it is used to prepare the most delicious, aromatic, and fluffy pilaf.
When cooked, Uzgen rice can expand up to seven times its original volume, absorbing much more water, fat, and spices than other rice varieties. A distinctive feature of this reddish-brown rice is the characteristic dark stripe running along the entire grain, which serves as proof of its authenticity.
The main cultivation areas for this variety are the Uzgen and Kara-Kulja districts of the Osh region in the Kyrgyz Republic. This is where the climate, the mineral composition of the soil, and centuries-old traditions of rice cultivation are perfectly combined.
Pilaf prepared exclusively from Uzgen rice has become the culinary hallmark of the country's southern region. Without exaggeration, Uzgen rice has become a true national brand of Kyrgyzstan.

On September 3, 2025, the Kyrgyz Express Post issued a stamp entitled "Taste Kyrgyzstan!", dedicated to Uzgen rice.
This stamp (150 KGS, print run: 6,000, design: Daria Maier based on a photograph by Vladislav Ushakov) is present on the official First Day Cover above (print run: 300) sent from Bishkek, the capital.
This stamp depicts a plate of pilaf made with Uzgen rice. In Kyrgyzstan, pilaf is usually served with slices of chuchuk (a traditional horsemeat sausage) placed on top.
The plate of pilaf is placed on a traditional shyrdak rug. The FDC features sacks of Uzgen rice as they are being sold in Kyrgyz markets.

This stamp was printed (in Moldova by Nova Imprim) in the attractive souvenir sheet above (print run: 1,500) containing four stamps.
The top margin depicts the hands of an Uzgen farmer holding ears of local rice.
The cultivation of Uzgen rice is a highly labor-intensive process. The main work is carried out manually, according to ancient traditions. This does not always bring profit to the producers, and unfortunately, the production of Uzgen rice currently cannot be described as thriving.

The Kyrgyz Express Post also put into circulation on the same day the nice maxicard above (MC-157, print run: 300) concerning this stamp. This card features a dish made from Uzgen rice on a traditional shyrdak rug.

"Bird of the Year 2025 - Asian paradise flycatcher" stamp on FDC from Kyrgyzstan (KEP)

About 400 species of birds are recorded in Kyrgyzstan, many of them are rare and protected by the state (57 are included in the Red Book of the Kyrgyz Republic).
The Kyrgyz Express Post (KEP), the 2nd designated postal operator of Kyrgyzstan, has launched in 2019 a "Bird of the Year" series by issuing a stamp dedicated to the Little Bustard and then, in 2020, a stamp devoted to the White-browed tit warbler, in 2021, a stamp devoted to the Bearded vulture, in 2022 a stamp featuring a House sparrow, in 2023 a Bar-headed goose and a Common pochard in 2024.
This series is designed in collaboration with the Kyrgyz Wildlife Conservation Society (KWCS), the partner of Birdlife International in Kyrgyzstan, which annually designates a particularly endangered bird species.
On July 21, 2025, a new stamp was issued in this series, this time dedicated to the Asian paradise flycatcher.
This very nice stamp (150 + 50 KGS, print run: 7,500), designed by Daria Maier and printed in Moldova by "Nova Imprim", is present on the official FDC below (print run: 400), with cancellation from Bishkek.

The Asian paradise flycatcher (Terpsiphone paradisi) is a migratory bird of the Monarchidae family. The Kyrgyz Republic is home to the subspecies Terpsiphone paradisi leucogaster.
This bird gets its name from its elegant appearance combined with its characteristic manner of catching insects in short, maneuverable flights. The bird has a distinctive look: a pointed crest, a broad, strong beak, and a long, graduated tail.
While its body size is comparable to a sparrow, its long tail makes these birds appear larger, especially the males.
In Kyrgyzstan, the Asian paradise flycatcher is a rare bird, mainly found in the Western Tian Shan mountains, and possibly in the western parts of the Talas and Kyrgyz Ranges. The Kyrgyz Republic marks the southeastern boundary of the species' distribution range.
These birds typically inhabit deciduous forests and orchards along the banks of natural lakes and mountain rivers. The species is protected in the Sary-Chelek and Padysh-Ata Nature Reserves. The Asian paradise flycatcher was included in the Kyrgyz Republic Red Data Book in 1985.

This stamp, including the logo of "Birdlife International", an NGO founded in 1922 for the protection of nature and birds in particular, was printed in the beautiful souvenir sheet (5 stamps + 1 label) above. The logo of the Kyrgyz Wildlife Conservation Society (KWCS) is present in the margin at the top left.
This logo represents a Ibisbill (Ibidorhyncha struthersii), already in the spotlight on one of the four stamps of the series "Birds of Kyrgyzstan" issued in 2018.
The label depicts a pair of
Asian paradise flycatchers and their characteristic nest, shaped like an inverted cone.

On the same day, the Kyrgyz Express Post also issued the nice maxicard above (MC-153, print run: 400) regarding this stamp.
