"50 years of diplomatic relations with China" souvenir sheet on cover from Uganda

Bloc-feuillet "50 ans de relations diplomatiques avec la Chine" sur lettre d'Ouganda 

Depuis l'indépendance de l'Ouganda en octobre 1962, des relations diplomatiques existent avec la République Populaire de Chine. La Chine a été l'une des premières nations à reconnaître la nation nouvellement indépendante.
L'Ouganda et la République populaire de Chine entretiennent de solides relations économiques et diplomatiques depuis l'indépendance de l'Ouganda. Les entreprises chinoises ont contribué de manière significative à la construction d'infrastructures en Ouganda et la Chine détient également environ 22 % de la dette extérieure de l'Ouganda.
Afin de célébrer le 50ème anniversaire de l'établissement de ces relations diplomatiques avec la Chine, la poste ougandaise a mis en circulation en 2012 (date exacte inconnue), une intéressante série (2 timbres + 1 bloc-feuillet).
Ce bloc-feuillet (20000 UGX) a été utilisé sur la lettre ci-dessous envoyée le 9 juillet 2025 depuis la ville de Kisoro. Merci beaucoup Tristan ! 
A noter qu'une série (2 timbres) a également été émise en 2022 pour les 60 ans de ces relations avec la Chine. 
Since Uganda's independence in October 1962, diplomatic relations have existed with the People's Republic of China. China was one of the first nations to recognize the newly independent nation.
Uganda and the People's Republic of China have maintained strong economic and diplomatic relations since Uganda's independence. Chinese companies have contributed significantly to the construction of Uganda's infrastructure, and China also holds approximately 22% of Uganda's external debt.
To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations with China, Uganda Post released an interesting set (2 stamps + 1 souvenir sheet) in 2012 (exact date unknown).
This souvenir sheet (UGX 20,000) was used on the cover below, sent on July 9, 2025, from the city of Kisoro. Thank you very much, Tristan! 
Note that a series (2 stamps) was also issued in 2022 for the 60th anniversary of these relations with China.  

Kisoro est une ville du sud-ouest du pays, située au pied des monts Mufumbiro, qui font partie des Virunga et abritent des gorilles de montagne rares. C'est la ville la plus proche du parc national des gorilles de Mgahinga et une porte d'entrée pour ceux qui se rendent au Rwanda ou en République Démocratique du Congo pour observer les gorilles dans le parc national des Volcans ou le parc national des Virunga.
L'Ouganda est un des rares pays africains à abriter une colonie de gorilles (environ 400 individus), en particulier le gorille des montagnes (Gorilla beringei beringei), une des 2 sous-espèces du gorille de l'Est, représenté sur le timbre du bloc-feuillet, avec un panda géant (Ailuropoda melanoleuca), un mammifère endémique de Chine centrale.
Un vol de grues du Japon et un paysage de savane africaine figurent dans les marges du bloc-feuillet, incluant également les drapeaux des 2 pays. Un repère indiquant que l'Ouganda est traversé par l'équateur (comme 5 autres pays africains) figure aussi sur le timbre. 
Les 2 autres timbres ci-dessus font partie de 2 séries courantes (14 timbres chacune) consacrées à des reptiles (vipère verte des feuillages - Atheris squamigera, 50 UGX) et à des oiseaux (martin-pêcheur azuré - Alcedo quadribrachys, 200 UGX) émises respectivement le 21 août 1995 et le 9 octobre 1992. 
Kisoro is a town in the southwest of the country, located at the foot of the Mufumbiro Mountains, part of the Virunga Range and home to rare mountain gorillas. It is the closest town to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park and a gateway for those traveling to Rwanda or the Democratic Republic of Congo to observe gorillas in Volcanoes National Park or Virunga National Park.
Uganda is one of the few African countries home to a gorilla colony (approximately 400 individuals), particularly the mountain gorilla (Gorilla beringei beringei), one of two subspecies of the eastern gorilla, depicted on the souvenir sheet's stamp, along with a giant panda (Ailuropoda melanoleuca), a mammal endemic to central China.
A flock of red-crowned cranes and an African savannah landscape appear in the margins of the souvenir sheet, also including the flags of both countries. A marker indicating that Uganda is crossed by the equator (like five other African countries) also appears on the stamp.
The other two stamps above are part of two definitive series (14 stamps each) devoted to reptiles (green bush viper - Atheris squamigera, UGX 50) and birds (shining-blue kingfisher - Alcedo quadribrachys, UGX 200) issued on August 21, 1995, and October 9, 1992, respectively.

Timbres "20 ans de la Commission ougandaise des communications" sur lettre d'Ouganda

Le 4 janvier 2019, la poste ougandaise a mis en circulation une série (4 timbres) consacrée au 20ème anniversaire de la création de la Commission ougandaise des communications (UCC).
La Commission ougandaise des communications a été créée en 1998 dans le but principal de développer une infrastructure de communications moderne en Ouganda, conformément à la mise en œuvre de la politique des télécommunications.
Le mandat principal de l'UCC est de réglementer le secteur des communications, qui comprend les télécommunications, la radiodiffusion, les communications radio, les communications postales, la communication de données et les infrastructures.
On January 4, 2019, the Uganda Post released a series (4 stamps) dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the creation of the Uganda Communications Commission (UCC).
The Uganda Communications Commission was established in 1998 with the primary objective of developing modern communications infrastructure in Uganda in line with the implementation of the Telecommunications Policy.
The primary mandate of the UCC is to regulate the communications sector, which includes telecommunications, broadcasting, radio communications, postal communications, data communications and infrastructure.

Deux timbres identiques de cette série (1800 shillings) ont été utilisés sur cette lettre envoyée le 6 octobre 2023 depuis Kampala, la capitale. Merci beaucoup Roland !
Ces timbres reproduisent simplement le logo de ce 20ème anniversaire de l'UCC avec son slogan associé "Célébrons le passé, le présent et le futur".
Les 2 autres petits timbres identiques à gauche (600 shillings) font partie d'une série (3 timbres) émise le 21 avril 1998, consacrée à différentes espèces de reptiles, le lézard tacheté de Sandveld (Nucras intertexta) ici.
Ce grand lézard, ayant souvent des taches sur le dos et une queue orange-brun, ne vit pas en Ouganda mais uniquement dans certaines réserves d'Afrique du Sud, Namibie, Mozambique, Botswana et Zimbabwe.

These stamps simply reproduce the logo of this 20th anniversary of the UCC with its associated slogan "Celebrat past, present and future".
The other two small identical stamps on the left (600 shillings) are part of a series (3 stamps) issued on April 21, 1998, dedicated to different species of reptiles, the Spotted Sandveld lizard (Nucras intertexta) here.
This large lizard, often having spots on its back and an orange-brown tail, does not live in Uganda but only in certain reserves in South Africa, Namibia, Mozambique, Botswana and Zimbabwe.

Gorilles sur ma 1ère lettre reçue d'Ouganda !

L'Union PanAfricaine des postes (UPAP), une institution spécialisée de l'Union Africaine (UA), a été créée en 1980 afin de coordonner les activités de développement des services postaux sur le continent.
Cette institution postale, une union restreinte de l'UPU, a son siège à Arusha en Tanzanie et compte actuellement 43 pays membres (sur les 54 pays situés en Afrique).
Pour commémorer le 30ème anniversaire de la création de l'UPAP, la poste ougandaise (Posta Uganda) a émis, le 18 janvier 2011, une série de 20 timbres ayant pour thème les gorilles (quel lien avec cette organisation postale ?).
L'Ouganda est un des rares pays africains à abriter une colonie de gorilles, en particulier le gorille des montagnes (Gorilla beringei beringei), une des 2 sous-espèces du gorille de l'Est.
The Pan-African Postal Union (PAPU), a specialized agency of the African Union (AU), was created in 1980 to coordinate the development of postal services on the continent.
This postal institution, a restricted union of the UPU, has its headquarters in Arusha, Tanzania, and has currently a membership of 43 countries (while there are 54 countries in Africa).
To commemorate the 30th anniversary of the creation of PAPU, the Ugandan Post (Posta Uganda) issued on January 18, 2011, a series of 20 stamps devoted to the theme of Gorillas (which relation with this postal organization ?).

Environ 400 individus vivent dans le sud-ouest du pays, dans la forêt impénétrable de Bwindi, et 400 autres dans les 2 pays voisins (Rwanda et République Démocratique du Congo).
Deux timbres (400 shillings chacun) de cette série ont été utilisés pour affranchir cette jolie lettre postée le 20 octobre 2014 de la ville d'Entebbe. Merci beaucoup Faisal :-)
Entebbe, située sur les rives du lac Victoria, est l'ancienne capitale du pays (lorsque l'Ouganda était un protectorat britannique) et la ville où est située la State House, la résidence officielle du président de la république.
Les 2 autres timbres du haut font partie de 2 séries courantes (14 timbres chacune) consacrées à des reptiles (crocodile du Nil ici) et à des plantes à fleurs (Calliandra haemotocephala ici) émises respectivement le 21 août 1995 et le 22 juin 2005.
Le dernier timbre en bas à gauche fait partie d'une série de 4 timbres, émise le 24 juillet 2000, consacrée au nouveau millénaire, avec un focus sur l'éducation pour tous ici.
About 400 Mountain Gorillas live in south-western Uganda, in the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, and another 400 animals in the two neighboring countries (Rwanda and Democratic Republic of Congo).

Entebbe, located on the shores of Lake Victoria, is the former capital of the country (when Uganda was a British protectorate) and the location of the State House, the official residence of the President of the Republic.
The other two top stamps are part of two definitive series (14 stamps each) devoted to reptiles (a Nile crocodile here) and flowering plants (Calliandra haemotocephala here), respectively issued on August 21, 1995 and June 22, 2005.
The last stamp in the lower left is part of a series of 4 stamps, issued on July 24, 2000, dedicated to the new millennium, with a focus on education for all here.
