Timbre EUROPA 2026 (70ème anniversaire des timbres EUROPA) sur lettre des Pays-Bas 

L'année 2026 marque le 70ème anniversaire des timbres EUROPA, une initiative philatélique lancée pour renforcer les relations entre les pays européens et promouvoir une paix et une unité durables.
Émis pour la première fois en 1956 par six nations – la Belgique, la France, l'Allemagne, l'Italie, le Luxembourg et les Pays-Bas, membres fondateurs de l'Union européenne – ce programme s'est étendu progressivement à 53 organisations postales participantes.
L'an dernier, le groupe de travail Timbres et Philatélie de PostEurop a organisé un concours interne pour choisir un motif commun sur le thème "70ème anniversaire du timbre EUROPA : Unis par...".
Guidés par des valeurs partagées telles que la communication, l'innovation, la coopération et des racines communes, les membres ont soumis 15 propositions créatives, chacune présentant une vision unique. 
Suite au vote de 50 organisations postales, ce concours a été remporté par la poste finlandaise (Posti), devant la poste de Bosnie-Herzégovine (BH Pošta) et la poste luxembourgeoise.
C'est donc le projet de l'artiste et graphiste Klaus Welp qui figure sur les timbres EUROPA émis en 2026. 
The year 2026 marks the 70th anniversary of the EUROPA stamps, a philatelic initiative launched to strengthen relations between European countries and promote lasting peace and unity.
First issued in 1956 by six nations – Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, and the Netherlands, founding members of the European Union – this program has gradually expanded to include 53 participating postal organizations.
Last year, PostEurop's Stamps and Philately Working Group organized an internal competition to choose a common design on the theme "70th Anniversary of the EUROPA Stamp: United by...".
Guided by shared values ​​such as communication, innovation, cooperation, and common roots, the members submitted 15 creative proposals, each presenting a unique vision.
Following a vote by 50 postal organizations, the Finnish Post (Posti) won the competition, ahead of the Post of Bosnia & Herzegovina (BH Pošta) and the Post of Luxembourg.
The design by artist and graphic designer Klaus Welp will therefore be featured on the EUROPA stamps issued in 2026. 

Le 8 mai 2026, l'administration postale des Pays-Bas (PostNL) a mis en circulation un timbre EUROPA unique reproduisant le dessin conçu par Klaus Welp.
Ce timbre (tarif permanent "International 1", soit 2,11€ actuellement pour une lettre jusqu'à 20g), imprimé par Joh. Enschedé B.V. dans un feuillet composé de 6 timbres (tirage : 75000 feuillets), a été utilisé sur la lettre ci-dessus envoyée le 13 juillet 2026 depuis Julianadorp, un village faisant partie de la commune du Helder, situé dans la pointe nord de la province de Hollande-Septentrionale. Merci beaucoup Tolga! 
Ce timbre EUROPA allie éléments abstraits et symboliques. La ligne pointillée ascendante en diagonale représente à la fois la perforation du timbre et le travail progressif de PostEurop. Les sept points, reliés par une ligne droite, symbolisent soixante-dix ans d'efforts concertés des opérateurs postaux à travers le continent.
Les dégradés et les motifs pointillés en arrière-plan forment une surface harmonieuse et dynamique, reflétant le joyeux mélange de couleurs du drapeau européen et symbolisant l'unité de tous les États membres. 
A noter la présence de feux d'artifice stylisés à droite sur le timbre (et les marges du feuillet), imprimés dans une couleur argent Pantone spéciale avec un dégradé, pour souligner le jubilé de platine de PostEurop.
On May 8, 2026, the Dutch postal administration (PostNL) issued a unique EUROPA stamp featuring the design by Klaus Welp.
This stamp (permanent "International 1" rate, currently €2.11 for a letter up to 20g), printed by Joh. Enschedé B.V. in a sheetlet composed of 6 stamps (print run: 75,000 sheetlets), was used on the cover above sent on July 13, 2026 from Julianadorp, a village part of the municipality of Helder, located in the northern tip of the province of North Holland. This EUROPA stamp combines abstract and symbolic elements. The diagonally ascending dotted line represents both the perforation of a stamp and the progressive work of the PostEurop. The seven dots, connected by a straight line, symbolize seventy years of unified effort by postal operators across the continent.
The blending gradients and dotted patterns in the background form a cohesive and vibrant surface, reflecting the joyful mix of colours from the European flag and symbolizing the unity of all member nations.
Also of note are the stylized fireworks on the right side of the stamp (and in the sheetlet margins)—printed in a special silver Pantone ink with a gradient—marking PostEurop's platinum jubilee.

Le 9 mai 2025 (Journée de l'Europe), l'administration postale des Pays-Bas (PostNL) a mis en circulation un timbre EUROPA unique, consacré cette année au thème des découvertes archéologiques nationales, soulignant l'importance de préserver et de valoriser les témoignages du passé, favorisant ainsi une meilleure sensibilisation pour les générations futures.
Ce timbre (tarif permanent "International 1", soit 2€ actuellement pour une lettre jusqu'à 20g), imprimé par Joh. Enschedé B.V. dans un feuillet composé de 6 timbres (tirage : 75000 feuillets), a été utilisé sur la lettre ci-dessous envoyée le 3 juillet 2025 depuis Julianadorp, un village faisant partie de la commune du Helder, situé dans la pointe nord de la province de Hollande-Septentrionale. Ce timbre, conçu par Maud van Rossum, a pour motif principal l'une des découvertes archéologiques les plus célèbres des Pays-Bas, la fibule de Dorestad ("Fibula van Dorestad"). 
Mesurant 8,5 cm, cette épingle à manteau de forme ronde a été fabriquée vers 800 après J.-C, découverte en 1969 dans un puits datant de l'époque de Dorestad, où se trouve aujourd'hui Wijk bij Duurstede.

This stamp, designed by Maud van Rossum, features one of the most famous archaeological discoveries in the Netherlands, the fibula of Dorestad ("Fibula van Dorestad"). 
Measuring 8.5 cm, this round-shaped cloak pin was made around 800 AD and was discovered in 1969 in a well dating from the time of Dorestad, where Wijk bij Duurstede is located today.   

Sous le règne de Charlemagne des Francs (768-814), Dorestad était la plus grande et la plus riche ville commerçante des Pays-Bas. La fibule en or est incrustée de verre de différentes couleurs, de pierres précieuses d'almandin, de perles et d'émail. Au fil du temps, certaines pierres ont disparu, tout comme l'épingle au dos. On peut y reconnaître diverses formes, telles que des croix, des volutes et un petit arbre avec des feuilles et des fruits.
Les croix de pierres précieuses et de perles indiquent probablement que la broche était portée comme un moyen subtil de propagande pour le christianisme de plus en plus populaire aux Pays-Bas. Les fibules rondes étaient principalement portées par les dames de haut rang.
Le style de la fibule de Dorestad est celui de l'orfèvrerie ecclésiastique, réalisée dans des ateliers bourguignons à l'époque de Charlemagne. Cette fibule, l'un des chefs-d'œuvre du Musée national des Antiquités de Leyde, est inscrite dans le Canon des Pays-Bas sous le thème de Charlemagne. 
Le Canon des Pays-Bas offre un aperçu des événements importants de l'histoire néerlandaise, illustrant l'évolution du pays au fil des siècles. Les enseignants utilisent ce Canon dans leurs programmes scolaires.
During the reign of Charlemagne of the Franks (768-814), Dorestad was the largest and wealthiest trading city in the Netherlands. The gold brooch is inlaid with glass of various colors, almandine gemstones, pearls, and enamel. Over time, some of the stones have disappeared, as has the pin on the back. Various shapes can be recognized, such as crosses, scrolls, and a small tree with leaves and fruit.
The crosses of gemstones and pearls likely indicate that the brooch was worn as a subtle means of promoting Christianity, which was becoming increasingly popular in the Netherlands. Round brooches were mainly worn by high-ranking ladies.
The style of the fibula of Dorestad is that of ecclesiastical goldsmithing, made in Burgundian workshops from the time of Charlemagne. The fibula, one of the masterpieces of the National Museum of Antiquities in Leiden, is included in the Canon of the Netherlands under the theme Charlemagne. 
The Canon of the Netherlands provides an overview of important events in Dutch history, illustrating the country's development over the centuries. Teachers use this Canon in their school curricula.

Il existe plusieurs associations de collectionneurs de timbres de la Principauté du Liechtenstein à travers le monde : VLS en Suisse, RLS en Allemagne, ÖSVLPH en Autriche, Liechtenstudy USA aux États-Unis...
Une association de ce type existe également aux Pays-Bas, la "NVPVL - Nederlandse Vereniging van Postzegelverzamelaars van het Vorstendom Liechtenstein" ("Association néerlandaise des collectionneurs de timbres de la Principauté du Liechtenstein").
Fondée en 1970, la NVPVL regroupe des collectionneurs spécialisés dans les timbres et l'histoire postale du Liechtenstein, publiant en particulier 4 fois par an un magazine "Liechenstein" (depuis 1972).
There are several Principality of Liechtenstein's stamp collector associations around the world: VLS in Switzerland, RLS in Germany, ÖSVLPH in Austria, Liechtenstudy USA in the United States, and more.
A similar association also exists in the Netherlands, the "NVPVL - Nederlandse Vereniging van Postzegelverzamelaars van het Vorstendom Liechtenstein" ("Dutch Association of Stamp Collectors of the Principality of Liechtenstein").
Founded in 1970, the NVPVL brings together collectors specializing in Liechtenstein stamps and postal history, publishing a magazine "Liechenstein" four times a year (since 1972). 

A l'occasion du 55ème anniversaire de la création de la NVPVL, un TAD et un timbre personnalisé (tarif domestique "1" - 1,21€ actuellement, tirage et concepteur inconnus) ont été mis en circulation le 22 février 2025 lors d'une manifestation philatélique organisée dans la ville de Veenendaal (province d'Utrecht, centre du pays).
Un grand merci Maxim pour l'envoi de cette lettre incluant 2 de ces timbres et ce TAD spécial, incluant le logo de la NVPVL et le château princier de Vaduz.
Ce logo figure également sur le timbre incluant les drapeaux des 2 pays dans le fond et au premier plan, un timbre du Liechtenstein "Armoiries" (3 francs, émis en 1939, conception : J. Troyer, F. Lorber) et un timbre des Pays-Bas (7 1/2 florins, conception : C.A. Mechelse) émis en 1945 après la libération du pays.
To mark the 55th anniversary of the founding of the NVPVL, a postmark and a personalized stamp (domestic rate "1" - currently €1.21, unknown print run and designer) have been released on February 22, 2025, at a philatelic event held in the town of Veenendaal (province of Utrecht, central Netherlands).
Many thanks to Maxim for sending this cover, including two of these stamps and this special postmark, featuring the NVPVL logo and the Princely Castle of Vaduz.
This logo also appears on the stamp including the flags of the two countries in the background and in the foreground, a Liechtenstein "Coat of Arms" stamp (3 Francs, issued in 1939, design: J. Troyer, F. Lorber) and a Netherlands stamp (7 1/2 Guilders, design: C.A. Mechelse) issued in 1945 after the liberation of the country. 

"Old Year's Fair 2024 in Houten" special postmark on cover from the Netherlands

TAD spécial "Foire de l'Ancien An 2024 à Houten" sur lettre des Pays-Bas

La Foire de l'Ancien An ("Oudjaarsbeurs") a eu lieu les 28 et 29 décembre 2024 dans la ville de Houten, située dans le centre du pays (province d'Utrecht).
A l'occasion de cette Foire de l'Ancien An, consacrée aux timbres, cartes postales, envois postaux mais aussi monnaies et billets de banque, la poste néerlandaise PostNL a mis en circulation 2 blocs-feuillets composés chacun de 3 timbres (tarif domestique "1" - 1,21€) consacrés aux traditions du Nouvel An aux Pays-Bas.
Deux timbres extraits de chacun de ces 2 blocs-feuillets ont été utilisés sur la jolie lettre ci-dessous envoyée le 28 décembre 2024 depuis cette "Oudjaarsbeurs" à Houten. Merci beaucoup Maxim !
A noter que ces blocs-feuillets ne font pas partie du programme philatélique officiel néerlandais mais s'apparentent à des timbres personnalisés, appelés "Beurspostzegels", émis pour certaines occasions. 
A noter également sur cette enveloppe cet élégant TAD spécialement mis en circulation pendant les 2 jours de cette Foire de l'Ancien An, évoquant des feux d'artifice.  
The Old Year's Fair ("Oudjaarsbeurs") took place on December 28 and 29, 2024 in the town of Houten, located in the center of the country (province of Utrecht).
On the occasion of this Old Year's Fair, dedicated to stamps, postcards, postal items but also coins and banknotes, the Dutch Post PostNL put into circulation two souvenir sheets each composed of 3 stamps (domestic rate "1" - €1.21) dedicated to New Year's traditions in the Netherlands.
Two stamps taken from each of these two souvenir sheets have been used on the pretty cover below sent on December 28, 2024 from this "Oudjaarsbeurs" in Houten. Thank you very much Maxim!
To note that these souvenir sheets are not part of the official Dutch philatelic program but are similar to personalized stamps, called "Beurspostzegels", issued for certain occasions.
To note also on this envelope this elegant postmark specially put into circulation during the two days of this Old Year's Fair, evoking fireworks. 

 

Le timbre ci-dessus à gauche est consacré à une pâtisserie belgo-néerlandaise constituée de petites bouchées de pâte à beignets cuites dans une friture et généralement saupoudrées de sucre glace. Aux Pays-Bas, ces "oliebollen" ("boules cuites dans l'huile") sont vendues en hiver dans des roulottes et dans certaines boulangeries, en particulier pour le réveillon de la Saint-Sylvestre.
Les 2 autres timbres du bloc-feuillet illustrent la plongée glacée du Nouvel An à Scheveningen et le champagne bu à partir de minuit.
L'autre timbre ci-dessus est consacré à Wim Kan (1911-1983), considéré comme l'un des "trois grands du cabaret néerlandais", avec Wim Sonneveld et Toon Hermans. Wim Kan est considéré comme le fondateur de la tradition néerlandaise des conférences de la réveillon de la Saint-Sylvestre ("oudejaarsconference"), une émission où un humoriste passe en revue l'année écoulée. Il le fit pour la première à la télévision en 1973 (la photo sur le timbre a été prise cette année-là), et obtint un grand succès.
Les 2 autres timbres du bloc-feuillet illustrent le compte à rebours jusqu'à minuit et un spectacle de magnifiques feux d'artifice. 
The stamp above left is dedicated to a Belgian-Dutch pastry consisting of small bites of doughnut cooked in a frying pan and usually sprinkled with icing sugar. In the Netherlands, these "oliebollen" ("oil balls") are sold in winter in caravans and in some bakeries, especially on New Year's Eve.
The other two stamps in the souvenir sheet illustrate the New Year's ice dive in Scheveningen and the champagne drunk from midnight.
The other stamp above is dedicated to Wim Kan (1911-1983), considered one of the "big three of Dutch cabaret", along with Wim Sonneveld and Toon Hermans. Wim Kan is considered the founder of the Dutch tradition of the New Year's Eve conference ("oudejaarsconference"), a show where a comedian reviews the past year. He did it for the first time on television in 1973 (the photo on the stamp was taken that year), and it was a great success.
The other two stamps in the souvenir sheet show the countdown to midnight and a magnificent fireworks display. 

 

"63rd Aerophilately Day" postmark on (Stamp Day 2024) cover from the Netherlands

TAD "63ème journée de l'aérophilatélie" sur lettre (Journée du Timbre) des Pays-Bas

Dans le cadre de l'exposition philatélique "Postex 2024" (25ème édition) organisée cette année le 1er et 2 novembre 2024 dans la ville de Barneveld, des oblitérations spéciales ont été mises en circulation, comme celle appliquée sur cette jolie lettre envoyée le 2 novembre 2024, évoquant la 63ème édition de la journée de l'aérophilatélie ("63e Dag van de Aerofilatelie"), promue chaque année par l'association "De Vliegende Hollander" (fondée en 1936).

L'aérophilatélie regroupe des passionnés de l'histoire de la poste Aérienne, des premiers vols des pionniers de l'aviation, des meetings aériens du début du 20ème siècle ou des premières liaisons aéropostales régulières à travers le monde.
Ce TAD évoque cette année le 100ème anniversaire de la première liaison aérienne entre les Pays-Bas et les Indes orientales néerlandaises. 
As part of the philatelic exhibition "Postex 2024" (25th edition) organized this year on November 1 and 2, 2024 in the city of Barneveld, special cancellations were put into circulation, such as the one applied to this beautiful cover sent on November 2, 2024, evoking the 63rd edition of the Aerophilately Day ("63e Dag van de Aerofilatelie"), promoted each year by the association "De Vliegende Hollander" (founded in 1936).

Aerophilately brings together enthusiasts of the history of airmail, first flights of aviation pioneers, air shows from the beginning of the 20th century or the first regular airmail connections around the world.
This year, this postmark commemorates the 100th anniversary of the first air link between the Netherlands and the Dutch East Indies. 

Le 24 novembre 1924, l'avion de ligne Fokker F.VII (avec 3 membres d'équipage) de la compagnie aérienne néerlandaise KLM atterrit à Jakarta, réalisant avec succès le premier pont aérien entre les Pays-Bas et les Indes orientales néerlandaises, ayant parcouru une distance de plus de 15000 kilomètres en 55 jours, passant 127 heures en vol.
Maxim a utilisé 2 timbres émis le 14 octobre 2024 dans la cadre de la Journée du timbre ("Dag van de Postzegel"). Conçus par Sandra Smulders, ces 2 timbres (tarif permanent domestique "1" jusqu'à 20g - 1,14€ actuellement) ont été imprimés dans un feuillet (tirage : 8000) composé de 10 timbres (5 de chaque).
Ces 2 timbres ont été conçus en s'inspirant du graphisme des 3 timbres (conception : Piet Zwart) émis en 1931-1933 incluant un portrait de la reine Wilhelmine et différents domaines industriels dans le fond.
Un portrait du roi actuel Willem-Alexander figure sur ces 2 nouveaux timbres incluant la mention "Industrie du futur", illustrant différents domaines industriels innovants aux Pays-Bas : vision future du stockage souterrain de l'hydrogène, prototype d'un avion économe en énergie et cargo propulsé par l'énergie éolienne (développés par l'Université technique de Delft).
On November 24, 1924, the Fokker F.VII airliner (with 3 crew members) of the Dutch airline KLM landed in Jakarta, successfully completing the first air bridge between the Netherlands and the Dutch East Indies, having covered a distance of more than 15,000 kilometres in 55 days, spending 127 hours in flight.
Maxim used two stamps issued on October 14, 2024 as part of the Stamp Day ("Dag van de Postzegel"). Designed by Sandra Smulders, these two stamps (domestic permanent rate "1" up to 20g - currently €1.14) were printed in a sheetlet (print run: 8,000) consisting of 10 stamps (5 of each).
These two stamps were created based on the design of the 3 stamps (design: Piet Zwart) issued in 1931-1933 including a portrait of Queen Wilhelmina and different industrial fields in the background.
A portrait of the current King Willem-Alexander appears on these two new stamps including the mention "Industry of the Future", illustrating different innovative industrial fields in the Netherlands: future vision of underground hydrogen storage, prototype of an energy-efficient aircraft and cargo powered by wind energy (both developed by the Technical University of Delft).

Afin de célébrer le 25ème anniversaire de cette exposition Postex, PostNL a mis en circulation (le 1er novembre 2024), comme de coutume ces dernières années, 2 blocs-feuillets composés chacun de 3 timbres personnalisés (appelés "Beurspostzegels"), conçus à partir de certains de ces timbres personnalisés émis lors des éditions précédentes (émis entre 2013 et 2021).
Un de ces 6 timbres (tarif permanent domestique "1" jusqu'à 20g) a été utilisé sur la 2ème lettre ci-dessus, conçus à partir des timbres émis en 2021, consacrés à la ligne de chemin de fer historique "Veluwse Stoomtrein Maatschappij" qui relie les villes d'Apeldoorn et Dieren. Cette ligne empruntée principalement par des touristes concerne des wagons et locomotives historiques comme celles figurant sur ce timbre.
La mention "25" est également présente sur ce timbre ainsi que sur l'autre TAD spécial ci-dessus.
Concernant le 2ème timbre personnalisé ci-dessus avec mention "Postex 2024" (reproduisant une sélection de timbres néerlandais plutôt anciens), il semble qu'un exemplaire de ce timbre était offert à chaque visiteur + possibilité d'acheter des timbres similaires sur place. 
To celebrate the 25th anniversary of this Postex exhibition, PostNL has put into circulation (on November 1, 2024), as usual in recent years, two souvenir sheets each consisting of 3 personalised stamps (called "Beurspostzegels"), designed from some of these personalised stamps issued in previous editions (issued between 2013 and 2021).
One of these six stamps (domestic permanent rate "1" up to 20g) was used on the 2nd cover above, designed from the stamps issued in 2021, dedicated to the "Veluwse Stoomtrein Maatschappij" heritage railway line which connects the towns of Apeldoorn and Dieren. This line used mainly by tourists concerns historic wagons and locomotives such as the ones featured on this stamp.
The mention "25" is also present on this stamp as well as on the other special postmark above.
Regarding the 2nd personalized stamp above with the mention "Postex 2024" (reproducing a selection of rather old Dutch stamps), it seems that a copy of this stamp was offered to each visitor + possibility of buying similar stamps on site. 

EUROPA 2024 (Underwater Fauna and Flora) stamp on cover from the Netherlands

Timbre EUROPA 2024 (Faune et flore subaquatiques) sur lettre des Pays-Bas

Le 13 mai 2024, l'administration postale des Pays-Bas (PostNL) a mis en circulation un timbre EUROPA unique, consacré cette année au thème de la faune et flore subaquatiques ("Onderwaternatuur").
Pour rappel, ce thème choisi par l'association PostEurop, met en lumière la biodiversité des eaux européennes qui souffrent de la surpêche, de la pollution et du changement climatique et qui doivent être protégées pour les générations futures.

As a reminder, this theme chosen by the PostEurop association highlights the biodiversity of European waters which suffer from overfishing, pollution and climate change and which have to be protected for future generations.

Ce timbre, conçu par Bart de Haas (né en 1966) a pour motif principal un poisson d'eau douce tempérée, la bouvière (Rhodeus amarus), une espèce originaire d'Europe, allant du bassin du Rhône en France à la Neva en Russie. 
Ce poisson atteint une taille de 10 cm et vit parmi les plantes dans des eaux peu profondes. Il se nourrit principalement de plantes, et, dans une moindre mesure, de vers, crustacés, insectes et larves.
Un mâle de couleur rouge pourpre se trouve au centre du timbre et nage sous une feuille de nénuphar frangé (Nymphoides peltata). Sur la gauche du timbre est représentée une moule d'eau douce, un coquillage qui joue un rôle crucial dans le cycle de reproduction de la bouvière.
En haut à droite du timbre se trouve au loin une femelle bouvière, de couleur argentée. À l'arrière-plan du timbre, un motif de lignes ondulées symbolisant le mouvement de l'eau d'avant en arrière.
This stamp, designed by Bart de Haas (born in 1966), has as its main motif a temperate freshwater fish, the European bitterling (Rhodeus amarus), a species native to Europe, ranging from the Rhône basin in France to the Neva in Russia.
This fish reaches a size of 10 cm and lives among plants in shallow water. It feeds mainly on plants, and, to a lesser extent, on worms, crustaceans, insects and larvae.
A purple-red male is in the center of the stamp and swims under a fringed water lily leaf (Nymphoides peltata). On the left of the stamp is depicted a freshwater mussel, a shell that plays a crucial role in the reproductive cycle of the European bitterling.
At the top right of the stamp there is a female European bitterling, silver in color, in the distance. In the background of the stamp is a pattern of wavy lines symbolizing the movement of water back and forth.

La Foire de l'Ancien An ("Oudjaarsbeurs") a eu lieu les 28 et 29 décembre 2023 dans la ville de Houten, située dans le centre du pays (province d'Utrecht).
A l'occasion de cette Foire de l'Ancien An, consacrée aux timbres, cartes postales, envois postaux mais aussi monnaies et billets de banque, la poste néerlandaise PostNL a mis en circulation 2 blocs-feuillets composés chacun de 3 timbres (tarif domestique "1" - 1,09€) consacrés à différentes essences d'arbres recensées à Houten et sa région.
Deux timbres extraits d'un de ces 2 blocs-feuillets (conception : Sandra Smulders) ont été utilisés sur cette jolie lettre envoyée le 28 décembre 2023 depuis cette "Oudjaarsbeurs" à Houten. Merci beaucoup Maxim !

The Old Year's Fair ("Oudjaarsbeurs") took place on December 28 and 29, 2023 in the town of Houten, located in the center of the country (province of Utrecht).
On the occasion of this Old Year's Fair, dedicated to stamps, postcards, postal items but also coins and bank notes, the Dutch Post PostNL put into circulation two souvenir sheets each composed of 3 stamps (domestic rate "1" - €1.09) dedicated to different species of trees recorded in Houten and its region.
Two stamps taken from one of these two souvenir sheets (design: Sandra Smulders) were used on this pretty cover sent on December 28, 2023 from this "Oudjaarsbeurs" in Houten. Thank you very much Maxim!
To note that these souvenir sheets are not part of the official Dutch philatelic program but are similar to personalized stamps, called "Beurspostzegels", issued for certain occasions.

 

A noter également sur cette enveloppe cet élégant TAD spécialement mis en circulation pendant les 2 jours de cette Foire de l'Ancien An, conçu à partir de représentations de feuilles d'arbres.
Les 6 timbres inclus sur ces 2 blocs-feuillets montrent un détail du tronc et des feuilles au premier plan, avec l'arbre en entier dans le fond, comme cela est le cas pour le tilleul (à gauche) et le bouleau (à droite) ci-dessus.
La ville de Houten (signifiant "en bois" en néerlandais) est aujourd'hui entourée de terres agricoles et de champs. Mais au début du Moyen Âge, il y avait aussi beaucoup de forêts dans la région. Sur l'emplacement du centre actuel de Houten, les Francs construisirent plusieurs fermes autour d'une église vers l'année 700. Le village s'appelait alors Haltna, ou "lieu dans la forêt".
Ce qui explique cette thématique des arbres pour ces 2 jolis blocs-feuillets. 

To note also on this envelope this elegant postmark specially put into circulation during the two days of this Old Year's Fair, designed from representations of tree leaves.
The 6 stamps included on these two souvenir sheets show a detail of the trunk and leaves in the foreground, with the entire tree in the background, as is the case for the linden (left) and the birch (right) above.
The town of Houten (meaning "wooden" in Dutch) today is surrounded by farmland and fields. But in the early Middle Ages there were also a lot of forests in the region. On the site of the current center of Houten, the Franks built several farms around a church around the year 700. The village was then called Haltna, or "place in the forest".
Which explains this theme of trees for these two pretty souvenir sheets. 

 

"62nd Aerophilately Day" postmark on cover from the Netherlands

Dans le cadre de l'exposition philatélique "Postex 2023" organisée cette année les 20 et 21 octobre 2023 dans la ville de Barneveld, des oblitérations spéciales ont été mises en circulation, comme celle appliquée sur cette jolie lettre envoyée le 21 octobre 2023, évoquant la 62ème édition de la journée de l'aérophilatélie ("62e Dag van de Aerofilatelie"), promue chaque année par l'association "De Vliegende Hollander" (fondée en 1936).

L'aérophilatélie regroupe des passionnés de l'histoire de la poste Aérienne, des premiers vols des pionniers de l'aviation, des meetings aériens du début du 20ème siècle ou des premières liaisons aéropostales régulières à travers le monde.
Ce TAD évoque le 100ème anniversaire de la restauration de la liaison aérienne entre les Pays-Bas et l'Allemagne ("100 jaar Hersteld luchtpost-vervoer NL-DE"), sur fond de carte géographique incluant les territoires actuels des 2 pays. Je n'ai malheureusement pas trouvé de détails concernant cet anniversaire célébré en 2023...

Aerophilately brings together enthusiasts of the history of airmail, first flights of aviation pioneers, air shows from the beginning of the 20th century or the first regular airmail connections around the world.
This postmark evokes the 100th anniversary of the restoration of the air link between the Netherlands and Germany ("100 jaar Hersteld luchtpost-vervoer NL-DE"), with a geographical map including the current territories of the two countries in the background. Unfortunately, I did not find any details regarding this anniversary celebrated in 2023...

Ces 10 timbres, similaires avec des dégradés de vert et bleu dans le fond, ont été inspirés d'un des 4 timbres (valeur 4 cent) de la série "Artistes" de 1923 (conception : Nicolaas van de Vecht), représentant un losange composé de 16 cases rectangulaires dans lesquelles le mot "NEDERLAND" est placé lettre par lettre à 2 reprises.

Designed by Sandra Smulders, these two stamps (permanent domestic rate "1" up to 20g - currently €1.01) were printed in a sheetlet of 10 different stamps (print run: 5,000 sheetlets).
These 10 stamps, similar with shades of green and blue in the background, were inspired by one of the 4 stamps (value 4 cents) from the "Artists" series of 1923 (design: Nicolaas van de Vecht), representing a diamond composed of 16 rectangular boxes in which the word "NEDERLAND" is placed letter by letter twice.
Each of these 2023 stamps represent a half-diamond: a triangle made up of 25 stacked rectangles with rounded corners, including the mentions "Dag van de Postzegel" and "2023".

Barneveld est connue à travers les Pays-Bas pour être l'un des principaux sites d'élevage de volailles du pays, ainsi que pour son musée de la volaille ("Nederlands Pluimveemuseum").
Cela explique sans doute la mise en circulation, le 20 octobre 2023, de 2 blocs-feuillets (conception : Sandra Smulders) composés chacun de 3 timbres personnalisés (appelés "Beurspostzegels"), spécialement pour cette exposition Postex 2023, illustrant différentes espèces de poules.
Un de ces 6 timbres (tarif permanent domestique "1" jusqu'à 20g) a été utilisé sur cette 2ème lettre ci-dessus, illustrant la race de poule pondeuse domestique "amrock", originaire des USA.
Une poule figure également sur le TAD appliqué sur ce timbre, l'autre TAD standard de Barneveld ci-dessus comportant curieusement un bloc noir à la place du 1er chiffre du jour...
Concernant le 2ème timbre personnalisé (au graphisme très étrange) ci-dessus avec mention "Postex 2023" et "Klimaatverandering" ("Changement climatique"), il semble qu'un exemplaire de ce timbre était offert à chaque visiteur + possibilité d'acheter des timbres similaires sur place.
Barneveld is well-known throughout the Netherlands for being one of the country's major poultry breeding sites, as well as for its poultry museum ("Nederlands Pluimveemuseum").
This undoubtedly explains the release, on October 20, 2023, of two souvenir sheets (design: Sandra Smulders) each composed of 3 personalized stamps (called "Beurspostzegels"), especially for this Postex 2023 exhibition, illustrating different hen species.
One of these 6 stamps (domestic permanent rate "1" up to 20g) was used on this 2nd cover above, illustrating the breed of domestic laying hen "amrock", originating from the USA.
A hen is also featured on the postmark applied to this stamp, the other standard Barneveld cancellation above curiously including a black block in place of the first digit of the day...
About the 2nd personalized stamp above (with a very strange design) with the words "Postex 2023" and "Klimaatverandering" ("Climate Change"), it seems that a copy of this stamp was offered to each visitor + possibility to buy similar stamps on site.

EUROPA 2023 (Peace - the highest value of humanity) stamp on FDC from the Netherlands

Timbre EUROPA 2023 (La Paix - la valeur humaine la plus importante) sur FDC des Pays-Bas

Sur proposition de la poste ukrainienne, le thème choisi par l'organisation PostEurop pour les timbres EUROPA 2023 est "La Paix - la valeur humaine la plus importante" ("Vrede - de hoogste waarde van de mensheid" en néerlandais), en écho à l'agression du pays par la Russie débutée il y a plus d'un an.
Ce choix sonne comme un rappel de la volonté qui avait présidé en 1950 à la création de l'Union européenne après la 2ème Guerre mondiale, résumée par Robert Schuman en une formule désormais célèbre : faire l'Europe pour faire la Paix.
Pour illustrer ce thème 2023, PostEurop a organisé un concours au sein des pays membres et c'est le projet "Nœud de la paix" de la poste luxembourgeoise (auteurs : Linda Bos et Runa Egilsdottir - A Designers' Collective) qui a été choisi, parmi 29 propositions.
Ce projet représente des cœurs entrelacés, et des mains aux doigts entremêlés, inspirés des nœuds d'amour celtiques. Les différentes couleurs renvoient à tous les pays du monde, unis par ce nouveau symbole de paix, une sorte de société fondée sur la coopération, dans laquelle les individus sont solidaires.
On the proposal of the Ukrainian Post, the theme chosen by the PostEurop organization for the EUROPA 2023 stamps is "Peace - the highest value of humanity" ("Vrede - de hoogste waarde van de mensheid" in Dutch), echoing the aggression of the country by Russia which began more than one year ago.
This choice sounds like a reminder of the will that presided over the creation of the European Union in 1950 after the Second World War, summed up by Robert Schuman in a now famous formula: make Europe to make Peace.
To illustrate this 2023 theme, PostEurop organized a competition within the member countries and the Luxembourg Post's "Peace Knot" project (authors: Linda Bos and Runa Egilsdottir - A Designers' Collective) was chosen from among 29 proposals.
This project represents intertwined hearts, and hands with intertwined fingers, inspired by Celtic love knots. The different colors refer to all the countries of the world, united by this new symbol of peace, a kind of society based on cooperation, in which individuals stand together.

Le 9 mai 2023 (Journée de l'Europe), la poste néerlandaise PostNL a mis en circulation cet unique timbre EUROPA (tarif permanent "International 1", soit 1,65€ actuellement pour une lettre jusqu'à 20g), imprimé par Joh. Enschedé B.V. dans un feuillet composé de 6 timbres (tirage : 60000 feuillets).
Ce timbre, reproduisant ce "Nœud de la paix" commun, mis en page par Bart de Haas, a été utilisé sur cette lettre envoyée le Premier Jour d'émission depuis Voorburg (province de Hollande-Méridionale). Merci beaucoup Maxim !
Selon le rapport du jury de PostEurop, ce motif "Nœud de la paix" est une métaphore visuelle d'une société pacifique dans laquelle la coopération dans le respect de la culture de chacun est centrale. 
A noter que le projet de PostNL pour ce concours EUROPA 2023 était proche du projet luxembourgeois retenu, incluant également des cœurs multicolores ("Un édifice de cœurs pour souligner la connexion").

According to the PostEurop jury report, this "Peace Knot" motif is a visual metaphor for a peaceful society in which cooperation with respect for each other's culture is central.
It should be noted that the PostNL proposal for this EUROPA 2023 competition was close to the Luxembourg project selected, also including multicolored hearts ("An edifice of hearts to emphasize the connection").

A noter également sur cette enveloppe ce TAD spécialement mis en circulation pendant les 2 jours de cette Foire de Nouvel An, semblant représenter un carillon stylisé, peut-être en référence aux cloches du clocher de l'église Pleinkerk à Houten, représenté sur le timbre ci-dessus à gauche ?
Pleinkerk désigne le bâtiment d'une église protestante dont la 1ère construction date du 12ème siècle. Le clocher de style gothique tardif a été construit entre 1535 et 1565, restauré ou reconstruit à plusieurs reprise et un télégraphe Chappe y a été installé entre 1810 et 1813.
L'autre timbre ci-dessus est consacré au Fort het Hemeltje, construit entre 1877 et 1881, le dernier fort construit et le plus moderne de la Nouvelle ligne d'eau de Hollande ("Nieuwe Hollandse Waterlinie"), désignant l'une des lignes de défense les plus importantes de l'histoire des Pays-Bas.
Elle est composée de terrains inondables par 30 à 60 cm d'eau afin de gêner l'avance de l'ennemi. 46 forts protègent notamment les quelques points laissés libre pour le passage, dont ce Fort het Hemeltje.
Elle fait partie des monuments nationaux et est inscrite au Patrimoine mondial de l'UNESCO depuis 1996.

Also to note on this envelope this postmark specially put into circulation during the two days of this New Year's Fair, seeming to represent a stylized carillon, perhaps in reference to the bells of the bell tower of the Pleinkerk church in Houten, represented on the stamp above left?

Pleinkerk designates the building of a Protestant church whose first construction dates from the 12th century.

The late Gothic bell tower was built between 1535 and 1565, restored or rebuilt several times and a Chappe telegraph was installed there between 1810 and 1813.

The other stamp above is dedicated to Fort het Hemeltje, built between 1877 and 1881, the last built and most modern fort of the New Dutch Waterline ("Nieuwe Hollandse Waterlinie"), designating one of the most important defence lines in the history of the Netherlands.

It is made up of land liable to flooding with 30 to 60 cm of water in order to hinder the advance of the enemy. 46 forts notably protect the few points left free for passage, including this Fort het Hemeltje.

It is one of the national monuments and has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1996.

 

"Postex 2022 Stamp Exhibition" special cover from the Netherlands

Lettre spéciale "Exposition philatélique Postex 2022" des Pays-Bas

Dans le cadre de l'exposition philatélique Postex 2022 organisée cette année les 28 et 29 octobre 2022 dans la ville de Barneveld (centre des Pays-Bas, province de la Gueldre), des oblitérations spéciales ont été mises en circulation, comme celle appliquée sur cette jolie lettre envoyée le 28 octobre 2022, évoquant une manifestation de montgolfières appelée "Ballonfiësta Barneveld", dont la 38ème édition a eu lien en août 2022.

Cette fête des montgolfières a été créée en 1982 à l'occasion du 500ème anniversaire de la mort de l'officier de cavalerie Jan van Schaffelaar (1445-1482), après avoir sauté du clocher de l'église de Barneveld pour assurer à ses hommes une retraite libre lors de la "guerre des Crochets et des Cabillauds".

This hot air balloon festival was created in 1982 on the occasion of the 500th anniversary of the death of cavalry officer Jan van Schaffelaar (1445-1482), after jumping from the bell tower of the church of Barneveld to ensure his men a free retreat during the "Hook and Cod War".

As part of this exhibition, PostNL has put into circulation two souvenir sheets each consisting of 3 stamps (domestic rate "1") dedicated to this "Ballonfiësta Barneveld", representing some of these 40 participating hot air balloons.

One of the stamps from one of these two souvenir sheets was used on the right on this envelope, illustrating a hot air balloon called "Priscilla" (pilot: Koen Oudenaert), in reference to Calimero's girlfriend.

To note that these souvenir sheets are not part of the official Dutch philatelic program but are similar to personalized stamps, called "Beurspostzegels", issued for certain occasions.

Regarding the 2nd "black rooster" stamp above with the mention "Postex 2022", it seems that a copy of this stamp was offered to each visitor + possibility to buy similar stamps on site.

PostNL a choisi cette histoire de la Petite Dame de Stavoren en collaboration avec l'Institut Meertens, un institut de recherche pour la langue et la culture néerlandaises, guidée par le caractère moralisateur et la familiarité du conte.
Cette histoire est une saga illustrant le dicton "La fierté vient avant la chute". Pour ceux qui ont l'arrogance de penser que rien ne peut jamais mal tourner, quand c'est le cas, la chute est d'autant plus grande.
L'histoire parle de la femme d'un riche marchand. Par colère, elle fait jeter du grain par-dessus bord dans le port de Stavoren. Lorsque les passants sont indignés, la femme jette une bague précieuse dans les vagues et dit qu'elle ne le regrettera pas jusqu'à ce que la mer lui rende sa bague. Cela arrive car elle trouve l'anneau dans le ventre d'un poisson. À partir de ce moment-là, tout dégringole : la femme perd tout son argent, le port s'envase et la richesse de Stavoren s'en va...
J'aime bien le graphisme de ces 2 timbres mentionnant 2 dictons extraits de cette histoire, "Sier' mijn Woning!" ("Ornez ma demeure!") et "Geen koper neen, maar goud!" ("Pas du cuivre, non, mais de l'or!").
PostNL chose this story of the Lady of Stavoren in collaboration with the Meertens Institute, a research institute for Dutch language and culture, guided by the moralizing character and familiarity of the tale.
This story is a saga illustrating the saying "Pride comes before the fall". For those who have the arrogance to think that nothing can ever go wrong, when it does, the downfall is all the greater.
The story is about the wife of a wealthy merchant. Out of anger, she threw grain overboard in the port of Stavoren. When passers-by are outraged, the woman throws a precious ring into the waves and says she won't regret it until the sea gives her ring back. This happens because she finds the ring in the belly of a fish. From that moment, everything goes downhill: the woman loses all her money, the port gets silted up and Stavoren's wealth goes away...
I like the design of these two stamps mentioning 2 sayings taken from this story, "Sier' mijn Woning!" ("Adorn my abode!") and "Geen koper neen, maar goud!" ("Not copper, no, but gold!").

Timbres "Journée du timbre 2022" sur lettre des Pays-Bas

Dans le cadre de l'exposition philatélique Postex 2022 organisée cette année les 28 et 29 octobre 2022 dans la ville de Barneveld, des oblitérations spéciales ont été mises en circulation, comme celle appliquée sur cette jolie lettre envoyée le 29 octobre 2022, évoquant la 61ème édition de la journée de l'aérophilatélie, promue chaque année par l'association "De Vliegende Hollander" (fondée en 1936).

Ce TAD évoque la liaison aérienne entre Amsterdam et Batavia (l'actuelle Jakarta en Indonésie), opérée à partir de 1932 par KLM, qui était alors la plus longue ligne du monde, avec 14350 km.
Cette ligne était assurée à l'époque par des Fokker F.XVIII, un avion de ligne produit aux Pays-Bas au début des années 1930. Seuls 5 appareils ont été construits, tous pour KLM, et enregistrés comme PH-AIO, 'AIP, 'AIQ, 'AIR et 'AIS. Utilisé par KLM sur sa liaison Amsterdam-Batavia (jusqu'en octobre 1936), le F.XVIII est devenu célèbre aux Pays-Bas grâce à des vols particulièrement remarquables comme celui de décembre 1933 pour effectuer un vol postal spécial de Noël vers Batavia, effectuant l'aller-retour en un temps de vol de 73 heures 34 minutes.

This postmark evokes the air line between Amsterdam and Batavia (current Jakarta in Indonesia), operated from 1932 by KLM, which was then the longest line in the world, with 14,350 km.
This line was provided at the time by Fokker F.XVIII, an airliner produced in the Netherlands in the early 1930s. Conçus par Sandra Smulders, ces 2 timbres (tarif permanent domestique "1" jusqu'à 20g - 0,96€ actuellement) ont été imprimés dans un feuillet composé de 10 timbres (tirage : 73000 feuillets).
Cette série rappelle l'émission de 1907 (3 timbres) commémorant le 300ème anniversaire de la naissance de Michiel Adriaenszoon de Ruyter (1607-1676), considéré comme l'amiral le plus célèbre de l'histoire de la marine néerlandaise.
Ruyter a combattu pendant les trois premières guerres anglo-néerlandaises et a remporté plusieurs victoires. De plus, il a été actif dans divers conflits sur la mer Baltique et contre les pirates de la mer Méditerranée, alternativement au service de son pays ou d'armateurs privés. Il fut mortellement blessé pendant la bataille d'Agosta en 1676, au large des côtes siciliennes, contre la flotte française.
Suite à son décès, Ruyter fut qualifié "d'homme qui faisait honneur à l'humanité" par le rois Louis XIV.
Un portrait de Ruyter inspiré d'un tableau de Ferdinand Bol (1667) figure sur le timbre à gauche, une bataille navale entre les flottes hollandaise et anglaise étant illustrée sur l'autre timbre.
Maxim used the two se-tenant stamps issued on October 17, 2022 as part of Stamp Day ("Dag van de Postzegel").
Designed by Sandra Smulders, these two stamps (permanent domestic rate "1" up to 20g - currently €0.96) were printed in a sheetlet of 10 stamps (print run: 73,000 sheetlets).
This series recalls the 1907 issue (3 stamps) commemorating the 300th anniversary of the birth of Michiel Adriaenszoon de Ruyter (1607-1676), considered the most famous admiral in the history of the Dutch navy.
Ruyter fought in the first three Anglo-Dutch Wars and won several victories. In addition, he was active in various conflicts on the Baltic Sea and against pirates in the Mediterranean Sea, alternately in the service of his country or of private shipowners. He was mortally wounded during the battle of Agosta in 1676, off the coast of Sicily, against the French fleet.
Following his death, Ruyter was described as "a man who did honour to humanity" by French King Louis XIV.
A portrait of Ruyter inspired by a painting by Ferdinand Bol (1667) is featured on the stamp on the left, a naval battle between the Dutch and English fleets being illustrated on the other stamp.

Cette exposition était organisée par PostNL, l'association royale néerlandaise des associations de philatélistes (KNBF) et l'association néerlandaise des marchands de timbres (NVPH).
A l'occasion de cette exposition, PostNL a mis en circulation le 15 octobre 2021 une intéressante série (2 timbres) dans le cadre de la Journée du timbre ("Dag van de postzegel"), consacrée aux premiers timbres néerlandais spécialement conçus pour l'affranchissement des imprimés, émis entre 1869 et 1876.
Un de ces 2 timbres a été utilisé à gauche sur cette enveloppe ci-dessous.

This exhibition (21st edition) was organized by PostNL, the Royal Dutch Association of Philatelists Associations (KNBF) and the Dutch Association of Stamp Dealers (NVPH).
On the occasion of this exhibition, PostNL put into circulation on October 15, 2021 an interesting series (2 stamps) as part of the "Stamp Day" ("Dag van de postzegel"), dedicated to the first Dutch stamps specially designed for the franking of printed matter, issued between 1869 and 1876.
One of these 2 stamps has been used on the left on this envelope below.

 

Ce timbre est oblitéré avec un TAD spécial évoquant le 85ème anniversaire de l'association "De Vliegende Hollander" (fondée en 1936) qui promeut chaque année la journée de l'aérophilatélie, dont la 60ème édition a été célébrée pendant cette exposition Postex 2021. Ce TAD, incluant également la mention "Aéroport Lelystad" (le 2ème aéroport d'Amsterdam) est curieusement daté du 1er octobre 2021...
Dans le cadre de cette exposition, PostNL a également mis en circulation 2 blocs-feuillets composés chacun de 3 timbres consacrés à la ligne de chemin de fer historique "Veluwse Stoomtrein Maatschappij" qui relie les villes d'Apeldoorn et Dieren. Cette ligne empruntée principalement par des touristes concerne des wagons et locomotives historiques comme celle (datant de 1943) représentée sur le timbre ci-dessus à droite, avec TAD associé (locomotive).
A noter que ces blocs-feuillets ne font pas partie du programme philatélique officiel néerlandais mais s'apparentent à des timbres personnalisés, appelés "Beurspostzegels", émis pour certaines occasions. 
Concernant le 3ème timbre "champignon" ci-dessus avec mention "Postex 2021", il semble qu'un exemplaire de ce timbre était offert à chaque visiteur + possibilité d'acheter des timbres similaires sur place.

This line used mainly by tourists concerns historic wagons and locomotives such as the one (dating from 1943) shown on the stamp above on the right, with associated postmark (locomotive).

To note that these souvenir sheets are not part of the official Dutch philatelic program but are similar to personalized stamps, called "Beurspostzegels", issued for certain occasions.

These "Wapenzegels 1869" franking stamps issued between 1869 and 1876, are the first Dutch stamps specially designed for the franking of printed matter, designed by Joseph Vürtheim.

These stamps are also the first stamps in the country without an image of the reigning monarch, depicting a drawing of the national coat of arms, probably based on the guilder coin which was in circulation at the time, with the portrait of King William III on the front side and national coat of arms on the other side.

Le 17 mai 2021, la poste néerlandaise PostNL a mis en circulation un feuillet (tirage : 100000) composé de 5 timbres afin de célébrer le 50ème anniversaire (jour pour jour) de la naissance de la reine Máxima.
Máxima Zorreguieta Cerruti est née le 17 mai 1971 à Buenos Aires (Argentine). En 2002, elle a épousé le prince Willem-Alexander qui est devenu roi des Pays-Bas en 2013 après l'abdication de sa mère, la reine Beatrix.
En tant qu'épouse du chef d'état, la reine Máxima est membre du Conseil d'État et remplit diverses autres fonctions dans son pays et à l'étranger, ce que la conceptrice de ce feuillet, Maud van Rossum, a illustré à travers les 5 timbres (tarif "1" domestique jusqu'à 20g - €0.96 actuellement) incluant également les couleurs du drapeau néerlandais.
On May 17, 2021, the Dutch Post PostNL put into circulation a sheetlet (print run: 100,000) consisting of 5 stamps to celebrate the 50th anniversary (day to day) of the birth of Queen Máxima.
Máxima Zorreguieta Cerruti was born on May 17, 1971 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. In 2002, she married Prince Willem-Alexander who became King of the Netherlands in 2013 after the abdication of his mother, Queen Beatrix.

Le "Oranje Fonds" a été fondé en 2002 lorsqu'il a été présenté comme un cadeau du peuple néerlandais au prince d'Orange et à la princesse Máxima lors de leur mariage. Ce fonds a pour mission de renforcer l'intégration, la participation et la sécurité sociale dans la société et réduire l'exclusion sociale aux Pays-Bas.
Ce timbre montre la reine Máxima avec le roi actuel et la reine Beatrix à La Haye en 2015 lors de la remise des Prix "Appeltjes van Oranje" décernés chaque année à trois initiatives sociales exceptionnelles.
Depuis 2009, la reine Máxima est avocate spéciale du Secrétaire général des Nations Unies pour le financement inclusif du développement, ce que le timbre ci-dessus à droite illustre, lors d'une visite en Indonésie en 2018.

The "Oranje Fonds" was founded in 2002 when it was presented as a gift from the Dutch people to the Prince of Orange and Princess Máxima at their wedding. This fund aims to strengthen integration, participation and social security in society and reduce social exclusion in the Netherlands.
This stamp shows Queen Máxima with the current King and Queen Beatrix in The Hague in 2015 during the presentation of the "Appeltjes van Oranje" Prizes awarded each year to three outstanding social initiatives.
Since 2009, Queen Máxima has served as United Nations Secretary-General's Special Advocate for Inclusive Finance for Development, what the stamp above right illustrates, during a visit to Indonesia in 2018.

These two se-tenant stamps (permanent rate "International 1", ie € 1.55 currently for a letter up to 20g) were printed by Joh. Enschedé BV in a minisheet consisting of 6 stamps (3 pairs, print run: 58,000 minisheets), created by graphic designer Karen Polder (born in 1965).
Karen Polder had previously designed the EUROPA 2018 series dedicated to bridges.

 

Il existe 331 espèces d'abeilles sauvages qui se reproduisent régulièrement aux Pays-Bas, dont 55% sont inscrites sur la Liste rouge des abeilles hollandaises (2018) du ministère de l'Agriculture, de la Nature et de la Qualité des aliments. Les espèces sont sur cette liste car elles ont disparu du pays, sont (sérieusement) menacées ou vulnérables...
Le timbre ci-dessus à droite représente des abeilles en mouvement avec les ailes ouvertes, rampant sur une structure hexagonale d'un nid d'abeille jaune, l'autre timbre montrant des abeilles immobiles, avec des cubes de couleurs différentes en arrière-plan, symbolisant l'urbanisation, une des causes du déclin de l'abeille sauvage.
Karen Polder n'a pas choisi de représenter certaines espèces d'abeilles en particulier sur cette série, mais a voulu sensibiliser le public pour la sauvegarde de ces abeilles (sauvages, solitaires ou mellifères), essentielles à la survie de l'homme, assurant la pollinisation des plantes.

There are 331 species of wild bees that breed regularly in the Netherlands, 55% of which are on the Dutch Bee Red List (2018) of the Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality. The species are on this list because they have disappeared from the country, are (seriously) threatened or vulnerable ...

The stamp above to the right depicts moving bees with open wings, crawling on a hexagonal structure of a yellow honeycomb, the other stamp showing bees standing still, with different colored cubes in the background, symbolizing urbanization, one of the causes of the decline of the wild bee.

Karen Polder did not choose to represent certain bee species in particular on this series, but wanted to educate the public for the protection of these bees (wild, solitary or honey), essential to the survival of man, ensuring pollination of plants.

Merci beaucoup Tolga pour cette jolie lettre envoyée le 16 juin 2020 depuis la ville néerlandaise de Hoorn (province de Hollande-Septentrionale), affranchie avec la série EUROPA (2 timbres) émise le 11 mai 2020, consacrée cette année aux anciennes routes postales ("Oude postroutes" en néerlandais).
Ces 2 timbres se-tenant (tarif permanent "International 1" - 1,50€ actuellement pour une lettre jusqu'à 20g) ont été imprimés dans un même feuillet composé de 6 timbres (3 paires), conçu par Anne Schaufeli et Huub de Lang ("Studio026" à Arnhem).
A travers ces 2 timbres, reproduisant des gravures anciennes montrant respectivement un postillon à cheval jouant du cor (avec un moulin dans le fond) et une diligence postale, PostNL a voulu rappeler que, du 16ème au 19ème siècle, la livraison du courrier en Europe était entre les mains d'une seule famille, Thurn und Taxis.

Through these two stamps, reproducing old engravings respectively showing a postilion on horseback playing the horn (with a wind mill in the background) and a postal stagecoach, PostNL wanted to remind that, from the 16th to the 19th century, the delivery of mail in Europe was in the hands of the Thurn und Taxis family.

La devise de cette famille, "vite, vite, vite, très vite!" ("cito, cito, cito, citissim!", "snel, snel, snel, supersnel!"), est mentionnée dans les marges de ce feuillet !
La famille Thurn und Taxis, qui a prospéré sous les monarques des Habsbourg, a en effet utilisé un système de relais de poste pour livrer le courrier aussi rapidement et efficacement que possible.
Le long des routes, il y avait suffisamment de relais pour que les postillons puissent se reposer, changer de cheval ou se restaurer.
