Sommet du CCG - Impressionnant feuillet émirati !

GCC Summit - An impressive UAE's miniature sheet !

Merci beaucoup Ganesh :-)
On 6 and 7 December 2010, the UAE city of Abu Dhabi hosted the 31st Session of the GCC Supreme Council, GCC being the Gulf Cooperation Council, a regional organization created 30 years ago involving the countries of the Arabian peninsula (Saudi Arabia , United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar and Oman) with the exception of Yemen.
The Emirates Post has curiously waited May 4, 2011 to issue a series of six stamps (150 Fils each) devoted to this summit in Abu Dhabi ??
It is this impressive souvenir sheet that appears on the cover below mailed from Dubai on September 4, 2011. Thank you very much Ganesh :-)

At this Summit, the six GCC countries have taken many decisions in particular on economic cooperation (common market, monetary union ...), in the energy, environmental, military, education or information fields.
The logo of GCC, depicting a map of the Arabian Peninsula, appears in the top margin of this sheet including six stamps featuring each the portraits of the heads of state of the six GCC countries, with their respective flags and landmark buildings in the background.
King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia is so featured in front of the holy city of Mecca and the Kaaba (Masjid Al-Haram), the President of the UAE, Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan next to the highest tower in the world (828 meters), Burj Khalifa in Dubai, Emir of Kuwait Sabah al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah with the Kuwait towers (symbol of Kuwait City since 1979), King of Bahrain Hamad bin Isa al Khalifa and the towers of the Bahrain World Trade Center in Manama, Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, and the pearl monument in Doha, Sultan of Oman, Qaboos bin Said al Said and the Nakhal Fort (17th century), one of the best preserved of the country.
