L'équipe masculine de Bosnie-Herzégovine a participé, pour la 2ème fois de son histoire après 2014 (Brésil), à la phase finale de la Coupe du monde de football (23ème édition), organisée du 11 juin au 19 juillet 2026 au Canada, Mexique et États-Unis.
Lors de cette coupe du monde 2026, la Bosnie-Herzégovine a plutôt bien performé, en se qualifiant pour les seizièmes de finale après avoir terminé 3ème de son groupe (derrière la Suisse et le Canada).
Classée actuellement au 61ème rang mondial, la Bosnie-Herzégovine a été battue 2-0 par les États-Unis en seizièmes de finale.
Le 12 juin 2026, la poste de
la Fédération de Bosnie-Herzégovine (BiH) de Sarajevo (BH Pošta), l'un des 3 opérateurs
postaux du pays, avec la poste croate de Mostar (HP Mostar) et la poste de la Republika Srpska (Pošte
Srpske), a mis en circulation un timbre consacré à la participation de l'équipe nationale à la Coupe du monde de football.

On June 12, 2026, BH Pošta (the postal service of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, based in Sarajevo)—one of the country's three postal operators, alongside HP Mostar (Croatian Post Mostar) and Pošte Srpske (Post of Republika Srpska)—issued a stamp commemorating the national team's participation in the FIFA World Cup.

Ce timbre, incluant en bas à droite le logo de la fédération nationale de football du pays (NFSBiH, membre de la FIFA depuis 1996, membre de l'UEFA depuis 1998), montre des joueurs de l'équipe nationale bosnienne jouant dans un stade, avec le drapeau du pays dans le fond.
Curieusement, l'équipe de football de Bosnie-Herzégovine ne s'est jamais qualifiée pour une phase finale du Championnat d'Europe...
