Singapour célèbrera en 2015 le 50ème anniversaire de son indépendance (le 9 août exactement) avec en particulier l'organisation d'une exposition philatélique internationale.
En 2013, 2014 et 2015, trois séries de timbres sont également émises pour commémorer le compte à rebours avant ce 50ème anniversaire de l'indépendance.
Après la 1ère série en 2013, intitulée "Our journey together" ("Notre parcours ensemble"), la poste de Singapour a émis cette année, le 4 août 2014, une impressionnante série (15 timbres "1st Local") intitulée "I am Singaporean !" ("Je suis singapourien !") à l'occasion du 49ème anniversaire de cette indépendance.

A noter qu'un bloc-feuillet (1 timbre à 2$) a également été émis dans cette série.
Singapore will celebrate in 2015 the 50th anniversary of its independence (on August 9th exactly) with in particular the organization of an international philatelic exhibition.
In 2013, 2014 and 2015, three stamp series are scheduled to commemorate the countdown to this 50th anniversary of independence.
After the first series in 2013, entitled "Our journey together", the Singapore Post issued this year, on August 4, 2014, an impressive series (15 "1st Local" stamps) entitled "I am Singaporean !" to mark the 49th anniversary of independence.

Le principe de ces 15 timbres est d'évoquer ce qui fait la caractéristique des singapouriens, chaque timbre représentant une initiale formant le slogan "I am Singaporean" (un timbre incluant ce slogan entier) :
I comme "Island" (Singapour est une île), A comme "Arts & Culture", M comme "Makan" (signifiant "manger" en malais), S comme "Singapore Spirit", I comme "Inclusive society", N comme "National Service", G comme "Great Singapore Sale" (un festival annuel de vente au détail), A comme "Airport", P comme "Park Connector Network" (en référence au réseau de voies vertes), O comme "Orchid" (la fleur nationale "Vanda Miss Joaquim" est une orchidée), R comme "Racial Harmony", E comme "Esplanade" (en référence au célèbre front de mer), A comme "Acronyms" et N comme "National Day Parade".
Comme chaque année, des cartes spéciales ont été éditées à l'occasion de cette "National Day Parade", le défilé de la fête nationale organisé le 9 août 2014, qui avait pour thème "Our People, Our Home".

The principle of these 15 stamps is to highlight the unique traits and characteristics of Singaporean, each stamp featuring an initial forming the slogan "I am Singaporean" (one stamp including that whole slogan) : I for "Island" (Singapore is an island), A for "Arts & Culture", M for "Makan" (meaning "eating" in Malay), S for "Singapore Spirit", I for "Inclusive society", N for "National Service", G for "Great Singapore sale" (an annual retail festival), A for "Airport", P for "Park Connector network" (referring to the greenways network), O for "Orchid" (the national flower "Vanda Miss Joaquim" is an orchid), R for "Racial Harmony", E for "Esplanade" (referring to the famous waterfront landmark), A for "Acronyms" and N for "National Day Parade".
As it's the case every year, some special cards were published on the occasion of this "National Day Parade" held on August 9, 2014, around the theme "Our People, Our Home".
