60 years of amateur radio liaisons from Tromelin

During the last "Salon Philatélique d'Automne" organized in Paris in November 2014, the postal administrations of the TAAF released on November 6, 2014, a special souvenir sheet, consisting of two stamps and one vignette (Tromelin island), devoted to the 60th anniversary of the first amateur radio transmission from Tromelin island (Eparses islands, a TAAF district), located in the Indian Ocean, east of Madagascar.
Tromelin has been added to the list of DX Century Club (DXCC) countries on November 1945 and the first amateur radio activity was indeed recorded by Marc Jouanny (FB8BK/T) on November 1954, during the construction of a weather station.
It is that souvenir sheet which was used to the left on the cover below, with the FDC cancellation from Tromelin island.

The lower stamp (€ 0.39) evokes this first transmission on November 1954, while the top one (€ 0.66) is devoted to the FT4TA French expedition composed of 7 operators who stayed on the island from 30 October to 10 November 2014. During these 12 days, they tried to establish a maximum of radio connections worldwide.
To increase the visibility of this operation, several radio liaisons were established by this expedition during the "Salon Philatélique d'Automne", on the TAAF stand, thanks to the members of the F6KOP radio club of Provins.
To note that the last amateur radio activity recorded on Tromelin island dated back to 2000 with the FR/F6KDF/T team who realized 50,000 QSO contacts.
To note, in the margin of that sheet, the amateur radio transmission (in Q Code) between Tromelin and Paris via the QRZ? question (Who is calling me ?) and the QSA5 answer (The strength of your signal is very good)...

To note, on the back of this envelope, the special cachet of the Tromelin's vaguemestre (the military in charge of the postal service), depicting a view of the island as well as a sea bird and a sea turtle.
Tromelin is indeed an important nesting site for some turtle species, such as the green turtle (Chelonia mydas), and houses permanent settlements of masked boobies (Sula dactylatra) and red-footed boobies (Sula sula).
The same green turtle is featured on the stamp (€ 1.05) also used to frank the cover above, issued on October 9, 2014, a joint stamp issued with France and four postal administrations of countries of the south-west Indian Ocean region : Madagascar, Mauritius, Comoros and Seychelles.
