Le timbre à droite (0,80€), émis le 2 août 2013, commémore le 150ème anniversaire de la création de Matica Slovenská ("Fondation slovaque"), une institution culturelle et scientifique privilégiant les thèmes liés à la nation slovaque.
L'objectif de cette fondation, créée le 4 août 1863 à Martin, était alors de développer la culture, l'art et les sciences sur un territoire non-indépendant (partie de l'Autriche-Hongrie) où le mouvement du renouveau slovaque s'affirmait de plus en plus...

The stamp on the right (€ 0.80), issued on August 2, 2013, commemorates the 150th anniversary of the creation of Matica Slovenská ("Slovak Foundation"), a cultural and scientific institution focusing on topics related to the Slovak nation.
The purpose of this foundation, established on August 4, 1863 in Martin, was then to develop the culture, art and science in a non-independent territory (part of Austria-Hungary) where the movement of the Slovak revival was more and more asserted...

Cette fondation fut dissoute en 1875 par les autorités austro-hongroises et certains de ses membres furent persécutés. Il faudra attendre la fin de la 1ère guerre mondiale pour que Matica Slovenská soit réhabilitée.
Ce timbre représente (à droite) l'emblème de cette fondation qui reprend les armoiries du pays (double croix d'argent sur 3 collines azur). Je suppose que la partie gauche évoque un motif (tissu ?) caractéristique de l'identité slovaque ?
Le 2ème timbre ci-dessus (0,65€), émis le 28 juin 2013, commémore le 100ème anniversaire de la naissance de Gorazd Zvonický (1913-1995), poète, traducteur, enseignant, prêtre et missionnaire slovaque.
Ordonné prêtre en 1848, il fut interné dans un camp en 1950 suite à la "nuit des barbares" lorsque la police d'état liquida tous les monastères du pays...
Zvonický parvint à s'échapper et s'exila alors de nombreuses années (42 ans au total) en Argentine puis en Italie.
La portée de ses œuvres littéraires écrites pendant son d'exil est admirable et sa poésie est une synthèse des valeurs chrétiennes et de ses racines slovaques...
This foundation was dissolved in 1875 by Austro-Hungarian authorities and some of its members were persecuted. It was not until the end of the first World War that Matica Slovenská was rehabilitated.
This stamp is featuring (on the right) the emblem of this foundation reminding the arms of the country (double silver cross on three blue hills). I guess that the left part depicts a characteristic pattern (from a fabric ?) of the Slovak identity ?
The second stamp above (€ 0.65), issued on June 28, 2013, commemorates the 100th anniversary of the birth of Gorazd Zvonický (1913-1995), Slovak poet, translator, teacher, priest and missionary.
Ordained in 1848, he was interned in a camp in 1950 following the "Night of the Barbarians" when the State police liquidated all monasteries in the whole state...
Zvonický managed to escape and then exiled for many years (42 years in total) in Argentina and Italy.
The scope of his literary works written during his exile is admirable and his poetry is a synthesis of Christian values ​​and its Slovak roots...
