Série "70ème anniversaire de l'adhésion aux Nations Unies" sur lettre du Laos
La République démocratique populaire lao (Laos) est devenue membre des Nations Unies le 14 décembre 1955. Depuis lors, et pendant de nombreuses décennies, le pays a maintenu une coopération étroite et constante avec le système des Nations Unies, conformément à sa politique étrangère à chaque étape.
Notamment, lors du IVe Congrès du Parti, fin 1986, la politique étrangère a été renouvelée, passant de "Paix, Indépendance, Amitié et Socialisme" à "Paix, Indépendance, Amitié et Coopération", dans le but de promouvoir des relations internationales plus larges et de créer des conditions favorables au développement socio-économique.
Ce principe demeure aujourd'hui le fondement de la politique étrangère du Laos, reposant sur la recherche d'une coopération ouverte et multiforme. Le Laos a toujours respecté ses obligations et contribué activement aux instances des Nations Unies, notamment en soutenant les efforts de l'ONU pour maintenir la paix et la sécurité, prévenir les conflits et les courses aux armements, promouvoir le désarmement, renforcer les relations entre les pays, accroître la coopération au développement et relever les défis socio-économiques, culturels, environnementaux, humanitaires et relatifs aux droits de l'homme...
The Lao People's Democratic Republic (Laos) became a member of the United Nations on December 14, 1955. Since then, and for many decades, the country has maintained close and consistent cooperation with the United Nations system, in accordance with its foreign policy at every stage.
Notably, at the Fourth Party Congress in late 1986, the foreign policy was renewed, shifting from "Peace, Independence, Friendship, and Socialism" to "Peace, Independence, Friendship, and Cooperation," with the aim of promoting broader international relations and creating favorable conditions for socio-economic development.
This principle remains the foundation of Laos' foreign policy today, based on the pursuit of open and multifaceted cooperation. Laos has always respected its obligations and actively contributed to United Nations bodies, notably by supporting UN efforts to maintain peace and security, prevent conflicts and arms races, promote disarmament, strengthen relations between countries, increase development cooperation and address socio-economic, cultural, environmental, humanitarian and human rights challenges...
Le 14 décembre 2025, la poste laotienne a mis en circulation une série (2 timbres) consacrée au 70ème anniversaire de l'adhésion du pays aux Nations Unies.
Ces 2 timbres (7000 LAK, tirage : 4000 chacun, conception : Vongsavanh Damlongsouk) ont été utilisés sur la lettre ci-dessus envoyée le 10 décembre 2025 (4 jours avant la date d'émission officielle...) depuis Vientiane, la capitale. Merci beaucoup Edwin !
Ces 2 timbres ont été également imprimés dans un même bloc-feuillet, en version dentelée et non dentelée (tirage : 1000 chacun, prix de vente : 25000 LAK).
A noter que depuis le 28 novembre 2025, la poste laotienne accepte les affranchissements en timbres que sur les cartes postales... un sticker doit désormais être appliqué sur les lettres domestiques et internationales, comme sur cette enveloppe avec une valeur de 24000 LAK (les 14000 LAK correspondant aux 2 timbres ne sont pas pris en compte).
Le logo officiel de ce 70ème anniversaire figure sur les 2 timbres, celui à gauche incluant les drapeaux du Laos et des Nations Unies, celui à droite représentant le siège des Nations Unies à New York et le Patuxai, un arc de triomphe érigé entre 1957 et 1969 à Vientiane, à la mémoire des soldats laotiens morts pendant la Seconde Guerre mondiale et la guerre d'indépendance contre la France en 1949.
On December 14, 2025, the Lao postal service issued a series (2 stamps) commemorating the 70th anniversary of the country's accession to the United Nations.
These two stamps (7,000 LAK, print run: 4,000 each, design: Vongsavanh Damlongsouk) have been used on the cover above, sent on December 10, 2025 (four days before the official date of issue...) from Vientiane, the capital. Thank you very much, Edwin!
These two stamps were also printed in a single souvenir sheet, in both perforated and imperforate versions (print run: 1,000 each, retail price: 25,000 LAK).
To note that since November 28, 2025, the Lao postal service only accepts postage stamps for postcards; a sticker must now be affixed to domestic and international letters, as seen on this envelope with a value of 24,000 LAK (the 14,000 LAK corresponding to the two stamps are not included).
The official logo for this 70th anniversary appears on both stamps: the one on the left includes the flags of Laos and the United Nations, while the one on the right depicts the United Nations headquarters in New York and the Patuxai, a triumphal arch erected between 1957 and 1969 in Vientiane, in memory of the Lao soldiers who died during World War II and the 1949 War of Independence against France.
