Famous "Bull's Eye" in the spotlight in Brazil !

On January 18, 2011, the Brazilian Post has issued an attractive stamp commemorating the 100th anniversary of the creation of the Brazilian Philatelic Society, the oldest association of this kind (as written on the FDC cancellation) in the country.
It is that stamp (R$ 2.55), designed by G. Tardin, that appears on the First Day of Issue souvenir below mailed on January 26, 2012 from Sao Paulo. Thank you very much Marcelo :-)
To note that the FDC postmark below was issued in Rio de Janeiro, the city where this Philatelic Society was founded in 1911.

This stamp reproduces the famous "Bull's Eye", the name of the first stamp issued in Brazil on August 1, 1843. Brazil was then the second country in the world (except local issues in Switzerland) to issue postage stamps, three years after UK and its Penny Black and six years before France and its Cérès (20 cents black).
Three imperforate stamps (30, 60 and 90 centavos) were actually issued on August 1, 1843. This is the 30 centavos one that is featured on the stamp above (printed in intaglio, the rest of the stamp being printed in offset) as well as in an embossed way on the envelope to the left !
The other two values of that first series will be reproduced on other stamps issued in 2012 and 2013.
Finally, to note that the number "100" appears on this "Bull's Eye" when tilting the stamp under a light source :)
