Le 5 décembre 2012, l'un des plus grands architectes du 20ème siècle et sans doute l'une des personnalités brésiliennes les plus connues dans le monde, s'est éteint à l'âge de 104 ans à Rio de Janeiro.
La poste brésilienne avait déjà émis de nombreux timbres ou bloc-feuillets en son honneur de son vivant.
Le 12 décembre 2014, un nouveau bloc-feuillet a été émis (tirage : 100000, conception : Cecilia Langer), composé de 2 timbres (3,50 R$ chacun).
Un grand merci Marcelo pour cette jolie lettre, affranchie avec ce bloc, envoyée le 26 janvier 2015 de Sao Paulo :-)
A noter la présence sur cette enveloppe des 5 TAD Premier Jour différents mis en circulation en cette occasion, respectivement à Brasilia, Belo Horizonte, Curitiba, Niteroi et Sao Paulo.
On December 5, 2012, one of the greatest architects of the 20th century and probably one of the best known Brazilian personalities in the world, died at the age of 104 in Rio de Janeiro.
The Brazilian Post had already issued many stamps or souvenir sheets in his honor during his lifetime.
On December 12, 2014, a new souvenir sheet was issued (print run : 100,000, design : Cecilia Langer), composed of two stamps (R $ 3.50 each).

To note the presence on this envelope of the 5 different FDC cancellations put into circulation on this occasion, in Brasilia, Belo Horizonte, Curitiba, Niteroi and Sao Paulo.
Les 2 timbres de ce bloc montrent respectivement un portrait d'Oscar Niemeyer, dont l'oeuvre s'inscrit dans le mouvement du style international, né dans les années 20 (faisant la part belle au béton, au verre, à l'acier et à la recherche du dépouillement), ainsi qu'une composition autour de son nom représentant le Palacio do Planalto (1960), le palais présidentiel, une des nombreuses réalisations de l'architecte à Brasilia.
La célèbre cathédrale de Brasilia (1970) figure également dans la marge centrale de ce bloc ainsi que sur le TAD Premier Jour de Brasilia.
Le Musée d'Art Contemporain (MAC) de Niterói (1996), construit en face de Rio de Janeiro, un bâtiment en béton brut peint en blanc dont la structure futuriste rappelle celle d'une soucoupe volante, est représenté dans la marge du bloc en haut, ainsi que sur le TAD de Niteroi.
Le 3ème timbre ci-dessus à gauche (0,80 R$), émis le 25 avril 2005, représente une vue de nuit du Musée Oscar Niemeyer situé à Curitiba, en particulier l'annexe à gauche, en forme d'oeil humain, ouverte en 2002.
Ce même édifice figure sur le TAD Premier Jour de Curitiba (ainsi que sur un croquis dans la marge de ce bloc).
Les 2 derniers TAD Premier Jour montrent respectivement le Mémorial de l'Amérique latine à São Paulo et le complexe architectural de Pampulha à Belo Horizonte.
The 2 stamps of that sheet respectively show a portrait of Oscar Niemeyer, whose work is part of the international style movement, born in the years 20's (spotlighting concrete, glass, steel and the sobriety of ornaments), as well as a composition around his name featuring the Palacio do Planalto (1960), the Presidential Palace, one of the many buildings of the architect in Brasilia.
The famous cathedral of Brasilia (1970) is also depicted in the central margin of the sheet as well as on the FDC postmark from Brasilia.
The Museum of Contemporary Art (MCA) in Niterói (1996), built in front of Rio de Janeiro, a raw concrete building painted in white with a futuristic structure looking like a flying saucer, is featured on the top margin and on the postmark from Niteroi.
The third stamp above on the left (R $ 0.80), issued on April 25, 2005, shows a night view of the Oscar Niemeyer Museum located in Curitiba, and in particular the Annex building to the left, with its human eye's shape, opened in 2002.
That same building is included on the FDC postmark from Curitiba (as well as on a sketch in the margin of the sheet).
The last two FDC cancellations respectively show the Latin America Memorial in São Paulo and the Pampulha architectural complex in Belo Horizonte.
