Tribute to footballer Fritz Walter (1920-2002) on FDC from Germany

Hommage au footballeur Fritz Walter (1920-2002) sur FDC d'Allemagne

Le 1er octobre 2020, la Deutsche Post a mis en circulation un timbre (0,95€) rendant hommage à un des footballeurs les plus populaires de l'histoire en Allemagne, Fritz Walter (1920-2002), à l'occasion du 100ème anniversaire de sa naissance.
Ce timbre, conçu par Heribert Birnbach et imprimé en feuillet de 10 timbres (avec mention de ses principaux titres et récompenses dans les marges), figure sur le pli Premier Jour ci-dessous, avec TAD de Kaiserslautern (Land de Rhénanie-Palatinat), sa ville de naissance. Merci beaucoup Jens !
Fritz Walter a marqué l'histoire du club de la ville, le 1. FC Kaiserslautern (1. FCK), en y jouant toute sa carrière (plus de 380 matchs entre 1939 et 1959 et 327 buts marqués) et en remportant le championnat d'Allemagne en 1951 et 1953. Le stade de la ville, construit en 1920, porte aujourd'hui son nom. 
On October 1, 2020, the Deutsche Post put into circulation a stamp (€ 0.95) paying tribute to one of the most popular footballers in German history, Fritz Walter (1920-2002), on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of his birth.
This stamp, designed by Heribert Birnbach and printed in sheetlet of 10 stamps (with mention of his main titles and awards in the margins), was used on the First Day cover below, with cancellations from Kaiserslautern (Land of Rhineland-Palatinate), his birth city. Thank you very much Jens!
Fritz Walter marked the history of the city club, 1. FC Kaiserslautern (1. FCK), playing there throughout his career (more than 380 games between 1939 and 1959 and 327 goals scored) and winning the German championship in 1951 and 1953. The city stadium, built in 1920, was named after him.

 

Mais Fritz Walter est rentré dans l'histoire du sport allemand en étant le capitaine de l'équipe ayant remporté la Coupe du monde en 1954 à Berne, après la victoire de l'Allemagne en finale (3-2) contre la Hongrie.

Cette victoire est surnommée en allemand "Le miracle de Berne" car l'équipe hongroise était à son apogée et largement favorite...
Fritz Walter, représenté sur ce timbre avec le trophée de cette Coupe du monde 1954, a ainsi personnifié par cette victoire le renouveau allemand de l'après-guerre.
Fritz Walter a joué 61 matchs en équipe nationale entre 1940 et 1958, marquant 61 buts et étant capitaine à 30 reprises.

But Fritz Walter made history in German sport by being the captain of the team that won the World Cup in 1954 in Bern, after Germany's victory in the final (3-2) against Hungary.

This victory is nicknamed in German "The Miracle of Bern" because the Hungarian team was at its peak and widely favorite ...

Fritz Walter played 61 national team games between 1940 and 1958, scoring 61 goals and captaining 30 times.
