Le 6 mai 2021, la Deutsche Post a mis en circulation un timbre (0,80€) consacré à Sophie Scholl (1921-1943) à l'occasion du 100ème anniversaire de sa naissance.
Sophie Scholl fut une des figures du mouvement de résistance contre le Nazisme en Allemagne, à travers le réseau "La Rose blanche" ("Die Weiße Rose"), composé d'étudiants, créé en juin 1942 avec, entre autres, son frère Hans Scholl et Christoph Probst.
En 1940, Sophie Scholl suit une formation d'institutrice de maternelle puis étudie la biologie et la philosophie à Munich à partir de mai 1942.
En janvier 1943, Sophie Scholl participe à la production et à la distribution de tracts du mouvement de résistance "La Rose blanche". Sophie et Hans Scholl furent arrêtés par la Gestapo le 18 février 1943 après une distribution de tracts dans l'université de Munich. 
On May 6, 2021, the Deutsche Post put into circulation a stamp (€ 0.80) dedicated to Sophie Scholl (1921-1943) on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of her birth.
Sophie Scholl was one of the figures of the resistance movement against Nazism in Germany, through the group "The White Rose" ("Die Weiße Rose"), made up of students, created in June 1942 with, among others, her brother Hans Scholl and Christoph Probst.
In 1940, Sophie Scholl trained as a kindergarten teacher and then studied biology and philosophy in Munich from May 1942.
In January 1943, Sophie Scholl participated in the production and distribution of anti-war leaflets of the resistance group "The White Rose". Sophie and Hans Scholl were arrested by the Gestapo on February 18, 1943 after a distribution of leaflets in the University of Munich.

Sophie et Hans Scholl furent condamnés à mort le 22 février 1943 et assassinés le même jour dans la prison de Munich-Stadelheim. Aujourd'hui, Sophie Scholl est considérée comme l'une des femmes les plus importantes de la résistance allemande contre le national-socialisme.
Merci beaucoup Jens pour cette intéressante lettre incluant ce timbre, conçu par Detlef Behr à partir d'une photographie de Sophie Scholl (prise par son frère Hans à Blumberg en 1941 ou 1942), avec TAD Premier Jour bleu de Forchtenberg (Bade-Wurtemberg), sa ville de naissance !
Ce TAD évoque le réseau "La Rose blanche", le timbre mentionnant également une phrase écrite par Sophie Scholl le jour de son exécution : "Une si belle journée ensoleillée, et je dois partir. Mais peu importe ma mort si grâce à nous, des milliers de personnes se sont réveillées et sont prêtes à passer à l'action".
Sophie Scholl a déjà été honorée sur des timbres allemands en 1964 et 1991, la RDA ayant également émis un timbre en 1961 représentant Sophie et son frère Hans.
Jens a complété son affranchissement avec un timbre (0,30€, émis le 2 janvier 2020)  faisant partie de la série courante "fleurs" en cours (débutée en 2005), une fleur d'hémérocalle ici, pour atteindre le tarif en vigueur pour un envoi en Europe (1,10€) jusqu'à 20g.
Sophie and Hans Scholl were sentenced to death on February 22, 1943 and murdered the same day in the Munich-Stadelheim prison. Today, Sophie Scholl is considered one of the most important women in the German resistance against National Socialism.
Thank you very much Jens for this interesting letter including this stamp, designed by Detlef Behr from a photograph of Sophie Scholl (taken by her brother Hans in Blumberg in 1941 or 1942), with blue First Day postmarks from Forchtenberg (Baden-Württemberg), her birth place!
This cancellation evokes the group "The White Rose", the stamp also mentioning a sentence written by Sophie Scholl on the day of her execution: "Such a fine, sunny day, and I have to go. What does my death matter, if through us, thousands of people are awakened and stirred to action".
Sophie Scholl has already been honored on German stamps in 1964 and 1991, GDR also issuing a stamp in 1961 depicting Sophie and her brother Hans.
Jens completed his postage with one stamp (€ 0.30, issued on January 2, 2020) as part of the ongoing definitive "flowers" series (started in 2005), a daylily here, to reach the rate in force for a shipment in Europe (€ 1.10) up to 20g.
