Timbre "2020 - Année internationale de la santé des végétaux" sur FDC du Vatican
Les Nations Unies (en collaboration avec la FAO) ont proclamé 2020 "Année internationale de la santé des végétaux"
(AISV) afin de sensibiliser le monde entier à la manière dont la
protection phytosanitaire peut contribuer à éliminer la faim, à réduire
la pauvreté, à protéger l'environnement et à stimuler le développement
économique.
D'après la FAO, les végétaux représentent 80% des aliments que nous
consommons et produisent 98% de l'oxygène que nous respirons. Pourtant,
ils subissent la menace constante et croissante des ravageurs et des
maladies (chaque année, jusqu'à 40% des cultures vivrières mondiales
sont détruites).
Cette thématique sera illustrée cette année sur des timbres (Suisse,
Luxembourg, Moldavie, Nations Unies, Vatican, Lettonie, Portugal,
Turquie, Serbie, Italie, Tunisie, Kirghizstan, Corée du sud,
Finlande, Japon, Slovénie, Émirats Arabes Unis...), des oblitérations spéciales (Moldavie), des cartes
pré-timbrées (Pologne), des timbres de
distributeurs (Espagne) ou encore des pièces de 2€ commémoratives
(Belgique).
The United Nations (in collaboration with FAO) declared 2020 as the International Year of Plant Health
(IYPH), an opportunity to raise global awareness on how protecting
plant health can help end hunger, reduce poverty, protect the
environment, and boost economic development.
According to the FAO, plants make up
80% of the food we eat and produce 98% of the oxygen we breathe. Yet,
they are under constant and increasing threat from pests and diseases
(up to 40% of the world's food crops are destroyed each year).
This theme will be illustrated this
year on stamps (Switzerland, Luxembourg, Moldova, United Nations,
Vatican City, Latvia, Portugal, Turkey, Serbia, Italy, Tunisia,
Kyrgyzstan, South Korea, Finland, Japan, Slovenia, UAE ...), special cancellations (Moldova),
prepaid cards (Poland), ATM stamps (Spain) or € 2.00 commemorative coins
(Belgium).
Le 23 juin 2020, l'administration postale de la Cité du Vatican a mis en circulation un timbre (1,15€, tirage : 45000) consacré à cette thématique ("Anno internazionale della salute delle piante" en italien), présent sur ce magnifique pli Premier Jour ci-dessus. Merci beaucoup Salvatore !
Le logo officiel de cette Année internationale de la santé des végétaux (cinq feuilles d'arbre formant un disque) est présent en haut à gauche sur ce timbre.
Ce timbre a été conçu à partir d'une photographie montrant le pape François arrosant un pied de vigne (planté dans un contenant rappelant l'Arche de Noé) avec l'actuel Patriarche suprême et Catholicos de tous les Arméniens, Karékine II, symbolisant le fait que la santé des plantes et de la planète est une "valeur œcuménique chère à tous".
Cette photographie a été prise lors de la visite du pape en Arménie, du 24 au 26 juin 2016, illustrant la volonté du pape François de rapprochement et d'unité avec les Églises orientales.

This stamp was designed from a photograph showing Pope Francis watering a grapevine plant (planted in a Noah's Ark container) with the current Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, Karekin II, symbolizing the fact that plant and planet health is an "ecumenical value dear to everyone".
This photograph was taken during the Pope's visit to Armenia from June 24 to 26, 2016, illustrating Pope Francis' desire for rapprochement and unity with the Eastern Churches.
