Merci beaucoup Long pour cette jolie lettre envoyée le 5 août 2020 depuis Hanoï, la capitale du Vietnam, affranchie avec 3 séries de timbres différentes, émises en 2019, et incluant une intéressante empreinte appliquée avec une encre rouge, évoquant la lutte contre l'épidémie de Covid-19.
Après une série ayant pour thème commun les fleurs nationales en 2017 (50ème anniversaire de l'ASEAN), les 10 pays membres de l'ASEAN ont choisi le thème des costumes traditionnels pour une nouvelle série émise le 8 août 2019, en référence à la date de création de l'ASEAN.
La version vietnamienne de ce timbre (4000 VND), incluant le logo "ASEAN Post" en haut à gauche, figure en bas à droite sur cette lettre, illustrant le costume traditionnel áo dài, porté principalement par les femmes (composé d'une robe et d'un pantalon). Les hommes portent une version de ce costume lors de rares occasions (mariages, funérailles...). 
Thank you very much Long for this nice letter sent on August 5, 2020 from Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam, franked with 3 sets of different stamps, issued in 2019, and including an interesting imprint applied with red ink, evoking the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.
After a joint series devoted to the theme of national flowers in 2017 (50th anniversary of ASEAN), the 10 ASEAN member countries have chosen the theme of traditional costumes for a new series released on August 8, 2019, in reference to the date of creation of ASEAN.
The Vietnamese version of this stamp (4,000 VND), including the "ASEAN Post" logo at the top left, is present at the bottom right on this cover, illustrating the traditional áo dài costume, worn mainly by women (consisting of a dress and pants). Men wear a version of this costume on rare occasions (weddings, funerals ...).

 

Comme un centaine d'autres administrations postales à travers le monde, la poste vietnamienne a également commémoré le 150ème anniversaire de la naissance du Mahatma Gandhi (1869-1948) en émettant, le 2 octobre 2019, un timbre (4000 VND), en haut à droite sur cette lettre, représentant un célèbre portrait de Gandhi souriant.
Le Mahatma Gandhi ("Mahatma" signifiant "la grande âme"), né en 1869 à Pordanbar (état du Gujarat), surnommé le "Père de la Nation" en Inde, fut un des pionniers du mouvement d'indépendance du pays, prônant la désobéissance, la non-violence et le concept du "swaraj" (autodétermination). Il est assassiné en 1948 par un fanatique hindou. Gandhi a inspiré de nombreux mouvements de libération et de défense des droits civiques dans le monde.
Le 3ème timbre ci-dessus (4000 VND), émis le 20 juillet 2019, est consacré au 50ème anniversaire du premier alunissage.
Le 19 juillet 1969, pour la première fois dans l'histoire de l'humanité, deux astronautes américains, Neil Armstrong et Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin, marchaient sur la Lune. Cinq jours plus tôt, dans le cadre de la mission Apollo 11, Neil Armstrong, Edwin Aldrin et Michael Collins décollaient à bord d'une fusée Saturn-V du Kennedy Space Center (Cape Canaveral) en Floride, entrant en orbite lunaire le 19 juillet 1969.

Like a hundred other postal administrations around the world, Vietnamese Post also commemorated the 150th anniversary of the birth of Mahatma Gandhi (1869-1948) by issuing, on October 2, 2019, a stamp (4,000 VND), above on the right on this envelope, representing a famous portrait of Gandhi smiling.

Mahatma Gandhi ("Mahatma" meaning "venerable"), born in 1869 in Pordanbar (state of Gujarat), nicknamed the "Father of the Nation" in India, was one of the pioneers of the country's independence movement, advocating disobedience, non-violence and the concept of "swaraj" (self-determination). He was assassinated in 1948 by a Hindu fanatic. Gandhi was the inspiration for many freedom and civil rights movements around the world. 

The 3rd stamp above (4,000 VND), issued on July 20, 2019, is dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the first moon landing.

On July 19, 1969, for the first time in the history of mankind, two American astronauts, Neil Armstrong and Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin, were walking on the Moon. Five days earlier, as part of the Apollo 11 mission, Neil Armstrong, Edwin Aldrin and Michael Collins took off aboard a Saturn-V rocket from the Kennedy Space Center (Cape Canaveral) in Florida, entering lunar orbit on July 19, 1969.
