Timbre EUROPA 2024 (Faune et flore subaquatiques) sur FDC de Monaco
Le 7 mai 2024, l'OETP de Monaco a mis en
circulation son timbre EUROPA illustrant cette année le thème de la faune et flore subaquatiques,
en particulier le poulpe de Méditerranée.
Ce timbre (1,96€, tirage : 40000), conçu
par Marie-Christine Lemayeur / Bernard Alunni et imprimé en feuillet de 10 timbres, figure sur le
FDC officiel ci-dessous, avec illustration montrant le célèbre rocher de Monaco.
Ce timbre a été imprimé par l'imprimerie de Philaposte sans le logo EUROPA, qui devait initialement être inclus au milieu dans la partie supérieure...
A une date inconnue, ce timbre a été retiré de la circulation et une nouvelle version doit être réimprimée avec le logo EUROPA et être émise vers mi juillet 2024.
On May 7, 2024, the Stamp Issuing Office of Monaco put into circulation its EUROPA stamp illustrating this year the theme of underwater fauna and flora, in particular the Mediterranean octopus.
This stamp (€1.96, print run: 40,000), designed by Marie-Christine Lemayeur / Bernard Alunni and printed in a sheetlet of 10 stamps, is present on the official FDC below, with an illustration showing the famous rock of Monaco.
This stamp was printed by the Philaposte printing house without the EUROPA logo, which was initially to be included in the middle in the upper part...
At an unknown date, this stamp was withdrawn from circulation and a new version is to be reprinted with the EUROPA logo and issued around mid-July 2024.
Le poulpe de Méditerranée ou pieuvre commune (Octopus vulgaris) est une espèce de la famille des octopodidés vivant dans les eaux côtières. C'est l'espèce de pieuvre la plus étudiée, notamment pour son intelligence particulièrement élevée pour un invertébré.
Au crépuscule, la pieuvre commune chasse les crabes, les écrevisses et les mollusques bivalves et peut changer de couleur pour se fondre dans son environnement.
Camouflage, vision, innovation, tromperie, apprentissage, mémoire, sont des facettes de son intelligence. Afin de préserver au mieux l'espèce, en particulier pendant les périodes de reproduction de juin à septembre, sa capture est interdite dans certaines zones de la Méditerranée.
A noter que l'un des 2 timbres EUROPA 2024 de Malte représente également une pieuvre commune.
The Mediterranean octopus or common octopus (Octopus vulgaris) is a species of the Octopodidae family living in coastal waters. It is the most studied species of octopus, notably for its particularly high intelligence for an invertebrate.
At dusk, the common octopus hunts crabs, crayfish and bivalve molluscs and can change color to blend in with its surroundings.
Camouflage, vision, innovation, deception, learning, memory, are facets of its intelligence. In order to best preserve the species, particularly during the breeding periods from June to September, its capture is prohibited in certain areas of the Mediterranean.
To note that one of the two EUROPA 2024 stamps from Malta is also featuring a common octopus.
