EUROPA 2024 (Underwater Fauna and Flora) stamp on FDC from Andorra (French Post)

Timbre EUROPA 2024 (Faune et flore subaquatiques) sur FDC d'Andorre (poste française)

Pour rappel, le thème choisi par l'association PostEurop pour les timbres EUROPA émis en 2024, la faune et flore subaquatiques ("Fauna i flora submarines" en catalan) met en lumière la biodiversité des eaux européennes qui souffrent de la surpêche, de la pollution et du changement climatique et qui doivent être protégées pour les générations futures. 
Le 10 mai 2024, la poste française en Principauté d'Andorre a mis en circulation un timbre EUROPA illustrant ce thème et en particulier à deux espèces de truites que l'on trouve dans les rivières et lacs d'Andorre.
Ce timbre (1,96€, tirage : 50010), conçu par Itziar Badenas et imprimé en feuillet de 15 timbres avec marges illustrées, figure sur le pli Premier Jour ci-dessous. Merci beaucoup Olivier ! 
As a reminder, the theme chosen by the PostEurop association for the EUROPA stamps issued in 2024, underwater fauna and flora ("Fauna i flora submarines" in Catalan) highlights the biodiversity of European waters which suffer from overfishing, pollution and climate change and which have to be protected for future generations.
On May 10, 2024, the French Post in the Principality of Andorra put into circulation a EUROPA stamp illustrating this theme and in particular two species of trout found in rivers and lakes of Andorra.
This stamp (€1.96, print run: 50,010), designed by Itziar Badenas and printed in a sheetlet of 15 stamps with illustrated margins, was used on the First Day cover below. Thank you very much Olivier!

Ce timbre illustre en effet deux types de poissons vivant dans les rivières et lacs de la Principauté et qui, à un moment de leur vie, vivent dans la mer.
Il s'agit de la truite commune ou truite fario (Salmo trutta fario) et de la truite arc-en-ciel (Oncorhynchus mykiss), deux poissons de la famille des salmonidés qui naissent au début des systèmes fluviaux des Pyrénées.
Quand ils sont jeunes adultes, ils commencent un voyage qui les amène jusqu'à la mer, où ils passent leur vie adulte. Au moment de leur reproduction, ils remontent les rivières et retournent sur leur lieu de naissance pour pondre et mourir.
Sur le timbre, on voit une jeune truite arc-en-ciel qui commence son voyage vers la mer, ainsi qu'une ancienne variété de truite commune qui commence son cycle de la vie dans les rivières d'Andorre.
A noter que la truite arc-en-ciel est originaire d'Amérique du Nord et son introduction dans les biotopes européens a un impact défavorable sur la faune aquatique car elle entre en concurrence avec la truite fario sur les mêmes niches écologiques... 
This stamp indeed illustrates two types of fish living in the rivers and lakes of the Principality and which, at one point in their life, live in the sea.
These are the river trout (Salmo trutta fario) and the rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss), two fish from the salmonid family which are born at the beginning of the river systems of the Pyrenees.
When they are young adults, they begin a journey that takes them to the sea, where they spend their adult lives. When they reproduce, they go up the rivers and return to their place of birth to lay eggs and die.
On the stamp we see a young rainbow trout which begins its journey towards the sea, as well as an ancient variety of river trout starting its life cycle in the rivers of Andorra.
To note that rainbow trout is native to North America and its introduction into European biotopes has an unfavorable impact on aquatic fauna because it competes with river trout for the same ecological niches...
