Exhibition dedicated to etcher Václav Hollar at the Prague Postal Museum - Special postmark

From 31 May to 1 October 2017, the Prague Postal Museum is organizing a new exhibition entitled "Václav Hollar: engravings and stamps" ("Václav Hollar: Rytiny a známky"), in which works of arts of this famous etcher and engraver (born in 1607, died in 1677), one of the greatest masters of etching in Europe in the 17th century, are exhibited in parallel with Czechoslovakian and Czech stamps on which they were reproduced (often engraved by Bedřich Housa).
Hollar has worked in many European countries (England in particular) and has depicted with a meticulous minuteness many landscapes, city plans (London, Prague...), portraits, still lifes, illustrations of the Aesop's Fables...

On this occasion, the Czech Post put into circulation on June 3, 2017 (at the main post office of Prague 1) a special postmark, designed by Karel Mráz from one of the most famous engravings by Václav Hollar in 1646, Head of a cat (middle size).
This engraving is accompanied by the mention "A good cat, which never steals"in German in its lower part...
A big thank you Slavek for this beautiful letter above, canceled with this postmark!
The stamp (self-portrait) above and its two attached coupons (allegories of spring and winter) are part of a souvenir sheet, engraved by Bedřich Housa, issued on June 20, 2007 to commemorate the 400th anniversary of the birth of Václav Hollar.

The lower margin of this souvenir sheet has been glued to the other side of this envelope above, representing a panoramic view of the city of Prague (castle on the left, old town on the right) realized by Václav Hollar during his short stay in 1636.
The representation of the castle is particularly the one of the time of the Emperor Rudolf II.

This same postmark has been applied to the postal stationery above (tariff "E" for a shipment up to 50g to Europe - 32 CZK currently, unknown print run) evoking this same exhibition at the Prague Postal Museum.
To note this similar view of Prague (with 2 figures to the left in the foreground) on the illustration on the left, a detail of an engraving also made in 1636 by Václav Hollar.
This illustration actually reproduces a stamp belonging to an "Arts" series (5 stamps) issued in 1981 by the Czechoslovak Post.
