Israel-Greece joint stamp issue : ports of Thessaloniki and Haifa

Émission commune Israël-Grèce : ports de Thessalonique et Haïfa 

Afin de commémorer le 25ème anniversaire de l'établissement de relations diplomatiques (avec créations d'ambassades réciproques) entre Israël et la Grèce, les administrations postales des 2 pays ont mis en circulation le 9 février 2016, un timbre commun (la 1ère émission commune dans le monde en 2016).
Les 2 pays entretiennent des relations très anciennes, souvent influencées d'ailleurs par les relations entre Israël et la Turquie, dans de nombreux domaines, en particulier celui de l'énergie ces dernières années (avec l'extraction conjointe, avec Chypre également, de gaz naturel en Méditerranée).
C'est la version israélienne de ce timbre commun (4,10 shekalim), conçu par Ronen Goldberg, qui figure en 2 exemplaires sur le pli Premier Jour ci-dessous, avec TAD de Jérusalem. Merci beaucoup Meir !
To commemorate the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations (embassy level) between Israel and Greece, the postal administrations of the two countries have put into circulation on February 9, 2016, a joint stamp (the first joint stamp issued in the world in 2016).
The two countries have very old relations, often influenced by relationship between Israel and Turkey, in many areas, particularly the energy sector in recent years (with the joint extraction, with Cyprus too, of natural gas in the Mediterranean).
It is the Israeli version of this joint stamp (4.10 shekalim), designed by Ronen Goldberg, which was used in 2 copies on the first day cover below, with postmark from Jerusalem. Thank you very much Meir !

Les drapeaux des 2 pays figurent sur ce TAD Premier Jour ainsi que sur cet oiseau stylisé inclus sur le logo officiel de ce 25ème anniversaire des relations diplomatiques reproduit sur les 2 tabs ci-dessus (timbre imprimé en feuille de 15 timbres dont 5 avec des tabs).
Ce tab fait également référence (en hébreu, anglais et grec) au thème de cette émission : les ports de Thessalonique (Grèce) et de Haïfa (Israël).
Ce timbre, incluant également les drapeaux des 2 pays, illustre ces 2 ports avec des monuments emblématiques de chaque ville (Tour Blanche à Thessalonique et mausolée du Bāb au sommet du mont Carmel à Haïfa) ainsi que différents types de grues, un paquebot de croisière et un cargo.
Suite à l'expulsion des Juifs d'Espagne à la fin du 15ème siècle, de nombreux Juifs sépharades se sont installés à Thessalonique (surnommée plus tard la "Jérusalem des Balkans") formant l'une des plus importantes communautés juives d'Orient (98% de cette communauté sera exterminée pendant la Shoah).
Entre 1932 et 1935, des centaines de dockers juifs de Thessalonique ont émigrés vers Israël et ont participé à la construction des ports de Haïfa ou Jaffa.
The flags of the two countries are featured on this FDC cancellation as well as on the stylized bird included on the official logo of this 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations, reproduced on the two tabs above (stamp printed in sheet of 15 stamps, including 5 with attached tabs).
This tab also refers (in Hebrew, English and Greek) to the theme of this joint issue : the ports of Thessaloniki (Greece) and Haifa (Israel).
That stamp, also including the flags of the two countries, illustrates these two ports with emblematic monuments of each city (White Tower in Thessaloniki and mausoleum of Bāb atop Mount Carmel in Haifa) as well as various types of cranes, a cruise ship and a cargo ship.
Following the expulsion of Jews from Spain in the late 15th century, many Sephardic Jews settled in Thessaloniki (known later as "Jerusalem of the Balkans") forming one of the largest Jewish communities of the East (98% of this community was exterminated during the Holocaust).
Between 1932 and 1935, hundreds of Jewish dockworkers from Thessaloniki  emigrated to Israel and participated in the construction of ports of Haifa and Jaffa.
