EUROPA 2018 (Bridges) stamp set on cover from Turkey

Thank you very much Tolga for this nice letter sent on July 23, 2018 from the city of Mersin, franked with the EUROPA stamp series (theme: bridges, "köprüler" in Turkish) issued by the Turkish Post on May 9, 2018!
Designed by Boray Yenipazar, these 2 stamps (print run: 100,000 each) represent respectively the Çifteköprüler bridge (2 Turkish lira) and the Uzunköprü bridge (4 Turkish lira).
Çifteköprüler ("double bridge" in Turkish) refers to two adjacent small historic bridges located in the Artvin Province (northeastern Turkey, near the Black Sea coast). These stone bridges, dating back to the 18th century under the Ottoman Empire, were built perpendicular to each other over the Kamilat and Soğucak rivers, just before their confluence.
Used only for pedestrians and restored in 2002, these two bridges consist of a single arch with a length of 35.50 m and a width of 2.80 m.

The other stamp is dedicated to the Uzunköprü Bridge ("long bridge" in Turkish), a 15th century Ottoman bridge, which gave its name to the town of Uzunköprü, located in the province of Edirne (north west of the country, European part of Turkey).
Built between 1426 and 1443 by Chief Architect Muslihiddin by order of the Ottoman Sultan Murad II, this ancient stone bridge of 174 arches is 1392 meters long and 6.80 meters wide.
During its construction (to cross the Ergene River), it was the longest bridge in the Ottoman Empire and later Turkey, a title it retained for 530 years until 1973 and the construction of the Bosphorus bridge in Istanbul.
Uzunköprü Bridge, restored in 1963, is still the longest stone bridge in Turkey and arguably the longest standing stone bridge in the world.
Turkey wants to inscribe this bridge on UNESCO's World Heritage List.
