"Personalities who changed world history" stamps on FDCs from Moldova

On October 28, 2019, the Post of Moldova put into circulation an interesting series (4 stamps) entitled "Personalities who changed world history" ("Personalități care au schimbat istoria lumii"), dedicated in particular to Louis Braille (210th anniversary of the birth), Albert Einstein (140th anniversary of the birth), Mahatma Gandhi (150th anniversary of the birth) and Leonardo da Vinci (500th anniversary of the death).
These four stamps (print run: 100,000 each), designed by Vladimir Melnic, were each printed in a sheetlet of 8 stamps + 1 label.
Thank you very much Nicolae for sending these four official FDCs (print run: 300 each, design: Vitaliu Pogolşa) each concerning a stamp of this series and its associated cancellation from Chişinău (MD-2012)!

The first stamp above (1.75 L) is dedicated to Louis Braille (1809-1852), the French inventor of the Braille alphabet and its raised dots used by the blind or visually impaired.
On these four FDCs, Nicolae had the good idea to apply (on the back of the envelope) the label being part of the sheetlet.
Other stamps have been added to reach the current rate for a priority shipment up to 20g to France (currently 11 L).
The Post of Moldova had already issued in 2009 (on January 4) a prepaid envelope dedicated to Louis Braille (200th anniversary of his birth).

The second stamp above (1.75 L) is dedicated to the physicist and Nobel Prize in Physics (in 1921) Albert Einstein (1879-1955), who published in particular in 1905 fundamental articles for modern physics (theory of the photoelectric effect, theory of special relativity ...).
These articles have contributed significantly to establish the foundations of modern physics, altering the scientific perception of space, time, mass and energy (especially through his famous equation of the mass-energy equivalence E=mc2).
Einstein, a Jewish refugee, was well aware of the impact of inequality on science education. A photograph showing him teaching physics to students at Lincoln University, a historically black university, in 1946, is reproduced on the left on this FDC.

Like a hundred postal administrations around the world (a record!), the Post of Moldova has dedicated the third stamp of this series above (5.75 L) to Mahatma Gandhi (1869-1948), on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of his birth.
Mahatma Gandhi, born in 1869 in Pordanbar (state of Gujarat), nicknamed the "Father of the Nation" in India, was one of the pioneers of the country's independence movement, advocating disobedience, non-violence and the concept of "swaraj" (self-determination). On January 30, 1948, on the way to a prayer meeting, Gandhi was assassinated in New Delhi by a nationalist Hindu.

The last stamp above (9.50 L) is dedicated to Leonardo da Vinci (1452-1519), one of the greatest personalities of the Renaissance, painter but also inventor, sculptor or engineer (among others).
The stamp was designed from a self-portrait (between 1512 and 1515) preserved in the Royal Library of Turin, The Mona Lisa (Louvre Museum in Paris) and The Vitruvian Man (drawing made around 1490), a representation of perfect ideal proportions of the human body inscribed in a circle and a square, being reproduced on the illustration of the envelope.
The label is interesting because it reproduces a portrait of a young man (perhaps a self-portrait) discovered in 2009 in the "Codex on the flight of birds" written and illustrated in 1505 by Leonardo da Vinci.

The Post of Moldova has also printed these four stamps in the beautiful souvenir sheet above (print run: 31,250).
The four maxicards below (print run: 500 each, 41/2019 to 44/2019) have also been put into circulation.

I was very lucky to meet the great artist Vladimir Melnic during the last "Salon Philatélique d'Automne" in Paris who was kind enough to sign these 4 maxicards!
