Comme une trentaine d'autres administrations postales, la Kyrgyz Express Post (KEP), le 2ème opérateur postal désigné du Kirghizstan, a mis en circulation, le 20 juillet 2019, un timbre consacré au 50ème anniversaire de la mission Apollo XI.
Au cours de cette mission, pour la première fois dans l'histoire de l'humanité, deux astronautes américains, Neil Armstrong et Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin, marchaient sur la Lune le 20 juillet 1969, en direct sur les télévisions du monde entier.
Cinq jours plus tôt, Neil Armstrong, Edwin Aldrin et Michael Collins décollaient à bord d'une fusée Saturn-V du Kennedy Space Center (Cape Canaveral) en Floride, entrant en orbite lunaire le 19 juillet 1969.
Après Apollo XI, la NASA a achevé 5 autres missions Apollo jusqu'en 1972 qui ont permis à 12 hommes d'atterrir sur la Lune. Les USA restent le seul pays à avoir accompli cet exploit remarquable.
Like some 30 other postal administrations, the Kyrgyz Express Post (KEP), the 2nd designated postal operator of Kyrgyzstan, put into circulation, on July 20, 2019, a stamp dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the Apollo XI mission.
During this mission, for the first time in the history of humanity, two American astronauts, Neil Armstrong and Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin, walked on the Moon on July 20, 1969, live on TVs around the world.
Five days earlier, Neil Armstrong, Edwin Aldrin and Michael Collins took off aboard a Saturn-V rocket from the Kennedy Space Center (Cape Canaveral) in Florida, entering lunar orbit on July 19, 1969.
After Apollo XI, NASA completed 5 more Apollo missions until 1972 that allowed 12 men to land on the Moon. The USA remains the only country to have accomplished this remarkable feat.

Pour la conception de ce timbre, la KEP a fait appel pour la 1ère fois à mon ami Niall Murphy, président de l'IMPS mais aussi un super graphiste et artiste !
Ce timbre est très différent des autres timbres émis sur ce thème, avec cette perspective poétique représentant un alignement entre la Lune au 1er plan et la Terre et le Soleil au loin.
Niall Murphy a également conçu le TAD Premier Jour de forme triangulaire, symbolisant le module lunaire Eagle (un aigle figure sur le TAD) à bord duquel Neil Armstrong et Edwin Aldrin ont aluni ce 20 juillet 1969, dans la mer de la Tranquillité.

For the design of this stamp, KEP has for the first time appealed to my big friend Niall Murphy, president of the IMPS but also a great graphic designer and artist!
This stamp is very different from other stamps issued on this theme, with this poetic perspective representing an alignment between the Moon in the foreground and the Earth and the Sun in the distance.
Niall Murphy also designed the triangular First Day postmark, symbolizing the Eagle Lunar Module (an eagle is depicted on the postmark) aboard which Neil Armstrong and Edwin Aldrin landed on July 20, 1969, in the Sea of Tranquility.

The insignia of this Apollo XI mission is present in the lower margin, as well as a footprint on the Moon on the right and a part of the iconic photograph taken by Neil Armstrong showing Edwin Aldrin in his space suit on the surface of the Moon, to the left.
La KEP a également mis en circulation la carte maximum ci-dessus (MC-49, tirage : 300) incluant ce timbre, conçue par Niall Murphy à partir d'une autre photographie iconique de cette mission Apollo XI, montrant Edwin Aldrin descendant du module Eagle avant d'effectuer ses premiers pas sur la Lune.
The KEP also released the maxicard above (MC-49, print run: 300) including this stamp, designed by Niall Murphy from another iconic photograph of this Apollo XI mission, showing Edwin Aldrin descending from the module Eagle before his first steps on the Moon.
