"FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022" stamp on cover from Serbia

Timbre "Coupe du monde de la FIFA Qatar 2022" sur lettre de Serbie

Le 21 novembre 2022, 1 jour après le match d'ouverture Qatar-Équateur, la poste de Serbie a mis en circulation un timbre consacré à la 22ème édition de la Coupe du monde de la FIFA, organisée du 20 novembre au 18 décembre 2022 au Qatar.
Malgré les polémiques (nombreux morts lors de la construction des stades, stades climatisés, droits humains...) liées à cette compétition organisée exceptionnellement en fin d'année, cette Coupe du monde s'est globalement bien déroulée, pour la 1ère fois dans un pays arabe, avec une victoire finale de l'Argentine contre la France...
L'équipe nationale de Serbie faisait partie du groupe G, avec le Brésil, la Suisse et le Cameroun, sans parvenir à se qualifier pour les huitièmes de finale.
Depuis la partition de la Yougoslavie, la Serbie a participé à 3 phases finales de Coupe du monde (2010, 2018 et 2022), sans jamais parvenir à passer le 1er tour.
On November 21, 2022, one day after the opening match Qatar-Ecuador, the Post of Serbia put into circulation a stamp dedicated to the 22nd edition of the FIFA World Cup, held from November 20 to December 18, 2022 in Qatar.
Despite the controversies (many deaths during the construction of stadiums, air-conditioned stadiums, human rights, etc.) linked to this competition organized exceptionally at the end of the year, this World Cup went well overall, for the first time in an Arab country, with a final victory for Argentina against France...
The national team of Serbia was part of group G, with Brazil, Switzerland and Cameroon, without managing to qualify for the round of 16.
Since the partition of Yugoslavia, Serbia has participated in 3 final stages of the World Cup (2010, 2018 and 2022), without ever managing to pass the first round.

 

Ce timbre (100 dinars, tirage : 25000), conçu par Ivana Zotović et imprimé en feuillet de 10 timbres, a été utilisé sur cette lettre envoyée le 23 novembre 2022 depuis la ville de Novi Sad. Merci beaucoup Dusan !
A noter la simple mention "Qatar 2022" sur ce timbre, sans la présence du logo officiel de cette Coupe du monde au Qatar.
Ce timbre est plutôt surprenant, illustrant le soutien des employés de la poste serbe envers leur équipe nationale lors de cette compétition, à travers ce colis postal reconverti en joueur de football, avec une écharpe de supporter aux couleurs de la Serbie.

To note the simple mention "Qatar 2022" on this stamp, without the presence of the official logo of this FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
This stamp is rather surprising, illustrating the support of Serbian postal employees for their national team during this competition, through this postal parcel converted into a football player, with a supporter's scarf in the colors of Serbia.
