“Helvetia 2022 Stamp Exhibition” s/s on cover from Switzerland

Bloc-feuillet "Exposition philatélique Helvetia 2022" sur lettre de Suisse

Du 18 au 22 mai 2022, la Suisse accueillait "Helvetia 2022", l'exposition universelle de philatélie, qui se déroulait dans la magnifique ville de Lugano (canton du Tessin), destination également prisée des touristes étrangers. 
Cette exposition célébrait les 160 ans de l'Helvetia assise, le légendaire timbre-poste émis pour la première fois en 1862 (pendant 20 ans), qui inaugura non seulement la mention "Helvetia", mais fut aussi le premier timbre dentelé de Suisse. Ce timbre a été conçu par Johann Adam Ries (1813-1889), médailliste, graveur de pièces et graphiste bavarois. 
A l'occasion de cette exposition, la poste suisse a mis en circulation 2 blocs-feuillets, un en 2021 et un autre en 2022, celui de 2021 (émis le 9 septembre) étant utilisé sur cette lettre envoyée le 7 septembre 2023 depuis la ville de Berne. Merci beaucoup Tristan !
From May 18 to 22, 2022, Switzerland hosted "Helvetia 2022", the world stamp exhibition, which took place in the magnificent city of Lugano (canton of Ticino), a destination also popular with foreign tourists.
This exhibition celebrated 160 years of the seated Helvetia, the legendary postage stamp issued for the first time in 1862 (for 20 years), which not only inaugurated the mention "Helvetia", but was also the first perforated stamp in Switzerland. This stamp was designed by Johann Adam Ries (1813-1889), a Bavarian medalist, coin engraver and graphic designer.
On the occasion of this exhibition, the Swiss Post put into circulation two souvenir sheets, one in 2021 and another in 2022, the one from 2021 (issued on September 9) being used on this cover sent on September 7, 2023 from the city of Bern. Thank you very much Tristan!

 

Conçu par Frank Baumann, ce bloc-feuillet (1 CHF + 0,50 CHF) comporte le logo de cette exposition "Helvetia 2022" ainsi qu'une vue de la ville, située sur la rive nord du lac de Lugano, sous une loupe.
On y voit en particulier le clocher de la cathédrale sous le soleil avec le Monte San Salvatore (913 mètres) dans le fond, différents drapeaux étant également présents sur le lac.
Dans la marge à droite, une partie de ce timbre historique "Helvetia assise" (valeur 30 Rappen).
La surtaxe du timbre était au bénéfice de la Fondation pour le développement de la philatélie.
L'autre timbre autocollant (1 CHF, conception : Lucille Solomon) fait partie d'une série (4 timbres) émise le 4 mars 2021 consacrée à des animaux en ville, un mulot sylvestre (Apodemus sylvaticus) ici, observant ce qui se passe dans la vieille ville d'Olten depuis une gouttière.
Designed by Frank Baumann, this souvenir sheet (1 CHF + 0.50 CHF) features the logo of this "Helvetia 2022" exhibition as well as a view of the city, located on the north shore of Lake Lugano, under a magnifying glass.
We can see in particular the bell tower of the cathedral under the sun with Monte San Salvatore (913 meters) in the background, different flags also being present on the lake.
In the margin on the right, a part of this historic "Seated Helvetia" stamp (value 30 Rappen).
The stamp surcharge was for the benefit of the Foundation for the Promotion of Philately.
The other self-adhesive stamp (1 CHF, design: Lucille Solomon) is part of a series (4 stamps) issued on March 4, 2021 dedicated to animals in the city, a wood mouse (Apodemus sylvaticus) here, observing what is happening in the old town of Olten from a gutter.
