ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships in Prague

After Bratislava in 2011, it is the city of Prague that was selected to host, from 11 to 15 September 2013, the 35th edition of the ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships.
These Championships will be held in Czech Republic for the third time since 1949, after Lipno nad Vltavou in 1967 and Prague in 2006.
Czech Republic at home but also Slovakia, Germany or France will be again the favorite nations to compete in the 10 events at these championships : C1 men and women (individual and team), K1 men and women (individual and team) and C2 men (individual and team)...

The Czech Post had not issued any stamp for the previous World Championships in 2006 in Prague... A special stamp (10 CZK) has this time been issued on September 4, 2013, devoted to this sport event.
Designed by Jan Ungrád and engraved by Jaroslav Tvrdoň, this stamp evokes a C1 men event and includes the Czech flag in its left part.
I was lucky enough to receive the two special covers above and below regarding that stamp. Thank you very much Bret and Slavek :-)
On the official FDC from Prague above, the illustration at the left shows a map of the country with its main rivers and mentioned that the Czech Canoe Union celebrates its 100th anniversary this year.
Bret has completed his postage (25 CZK in total) with two stamps issued in 2006, devoted respectively to the tradition of Czech stamp production (reproduction of a stamp designed by Jaroslav Lukavský and engraved by Ladislav Jirka issued in 1967 for the international philatelic exhibition "Praga 1968") and to the three characters Rumcajs, Manka and Cipísek designed by Radek Pilar from a children's tale by Václav Čtvrtek.

On this other letter above also sent from Prague the first day of issue of that stamp, a pictural cancellation was applied, dedicated to Petr Sodomka (born 1947), one of the greatest Czech slalom canoers (C1 individual and team) who competed at a high level in the 1960s and 1970s.
Petr Sodomka was crowned world champion five times between 1967 and 1977 (2 times in individual and 3 times in team).
To note that this cancellation above, featuring his portrait, mentions that Sodomka was 8 times world champion ?? He was maybe also crowned in junior canoe championships ?

Bret has also sent me the First Day special commemorative sheet above regarding that new stamp !
To note this interesting FDC cancellation from Prague showing the boats and types of oars used respectively by athletes for the K1 (top) and C2 (bottom) events.
