EUROPA 2025 (National Archaeological Discoveries) stamp set on cover from Kosovo

Série EUROPA 2025 (Découvertes archéologiques nationales) sur lettre du Kosovo 

Depuis 2006 (le pays n'avait pas encore déclaré son indépendance et était sous administration de la Mission d'administration intérimaire des Nations unies au Kosovo), des timbres ayant le même thème que les séries EUROPA officielles sont mis en circulation chaque année par la poste du Kosovo (Posta e Kosovës).
De façon variable, ces timbres mentionnent (ou pas) le libellé de ce thème ou la mention EUROPA (ou EVROPA), sans toutefois inclure le logo EUROPA officiel, le Kosovo n'étant pas membre de l'association PostEurop qui gére ces émissions EUROPA.
Le 9 mai 2025 (Journée de l'Europe), 2 timbres et 1 bloc-feuillet ont été émis, consacrés au thème EUROPA 2025, les Découvertes archéologiques nationales ("Zbulimet kombëtare arkeologjike" en albanais), en particulier au site archéologique d'Ulpiana.
Le bloc-feuillet numéroté ainsi que les 2 timbres de cette série (tirage : 4000 chacun) figurent sur la jolie lettre ci-dessous envoyée le 10 juin 2025 depuis la ville de Prizren, située dans le sud du pays. Merci beaucoup Sabri ! 
Since 2006 (the country had not yet declared its independence and was under the administration of the United Nations Interim Administration Mission in Kosovo), stamps with the same theme as the official EUROPA series are put into circulation every year by the Post of Kosovo (Posta e Kosovës).
Variably, these stamps mention (or not) the wording of that theme or the mention EUROPA (or EVROPA), without including however the official EUROPA logo, Kosovo being not a member of the PostEurop association, managing these EUROPA stamps.
On May 9, 2025 (Europe Day), two stamps and one souvenir sheet have been issued, dedicated to the EUROPA 2025 theme, National Archaeological Discoveries ("Zbulimet kombëtare arkeologjike" in Albanian), specifically the archaeological site of Ulpiana.
The numbered souvenir sheet and the two stamps in this series (print run: 4,000 each) have been used on the lovely cover below, sent on June 10, 2025, from the southern city of Prizren. Thank you very much, Sabri!  

Ulpiana, également appelée Iustiniana Secunda, était une ancienne cité romaine située dans l'actuel Kosovo, dans la municipalité de Gračanica, à 12 km au sud-est de Pristina. 
Iustiniana Secunda a été proclamé parc archéologique (161 hectares) sous la protection permanente du Kosovo par le Conseil du patrimoine culturel du Kosovo en 2016. Ulpiana comptait parmi les plus grandes implantations des Balkans à la fin de l'Antiquité.
Cette série montre différentes mosaïques découvertes sur ce site, par la mission archéologique franco-kosovare, dirigée côté français par Christophe J. Goddard, en particulier la dédicace, par l'empereur Justinien (527-565) et sa femme Théodora, d'une "urbs Dardaniae", une nouvelle ville de la province de Dardanie, sa province d'origine (timbre à 2€). Il s'agit de l'une des très rares dédicaces latines du couple impérial dans le monde romain tardif.
L'autre timbre (1€) représente une outarde houbara, un oiseau migrateur, sur le sol en mosaïque de la basilique épiscopale de Iustiniana secunda (535-545 après J.-C.), découverte en 2012.
Le bloc-feuillet (2€) présente également une représentation d'une outarde houbara, à côté d'une fontaine sur le sol en mosaïque de la basilique épiscopale de Iustiniana secunda.
Cette série a été émise, avec le soutien du ministère de la culture du Kosovo, à partir de photographies fournies dans le cadre d'une coopération interinstitutionnelle avec l'Institut archéologique du Kosovo et l'Université de Pristina. 
Ulpiana, also known as Iustiniana Secunda, was an ancient Roman city located in present-day Kosovo, in the municipality of Gračanica, 12 km southeast of Pristina.
Iustiniana Secunda was proclaimed an archaeological park (161 hectares) under the permanent protection of Kosovo by the Kosovo Cultural Heritage Council in 2016. Ulpiana was one of the largest settlements in the Balkans during Late Antiquity.
This series shows various mosaics discovered at this site by the Franco-Kosovar archaeological mission, led on the French side by Christophe J. Goddard, in particular the dedication, by Emperor Justinian (527-565) and his wife Theodora, of an "urbs Dardaniae," a new city in the province of Dardania, his home province (€2.00 stamp). This is one of the very few Latin dedications of the imperial couple in the late Roman world.
The other stamp (€1.00) depicts a houbara bustard, a migratory bird, on the mosaic floor of the Episcopal Basilica of Iustiniana secunda (535-545 AD), discovered in 2012.
