EUROPA 2024 (Underwater Fauna and Flora) s/s on cover from Bosnia & Herzegovina (Sarajevo)

Bloc-feuillet EUROPA 2024 (Faune et flore subaquatiques) sur lettre de Bosnie-Herzégovine (Sarajevo)

Pour rappel, le thème choisi par l'association PostEurop pour les timbres EUROPA émis en 2024, la faune et flore subaquatiques ("podvodna fauna i flora" en bosniaque) met en lumière la biodiversité des eaux européennes qui souffrent de la surpêche, de la pollution et du changement climatique et qui doivent être protégées pour les générations futures. 
Le 9 mai 2024 (Journée de l'Europe), la poste de la Fédération de BiH de Sarajevo, l'un des 3 opérateurs postaux de la Bosnie-Herzégovine (BiH), avec la poste de la Republika Srpska (Pošte Srpske) et la poste croate de Mostar (HP Mostar), a mis en circulation 2 timbres illustrant ce thème, en particulier une espèce de truite locale et une plante aquatique. 
Ces 2 timbres (3,20 BAM, tirage : 20000 chacun), conçus respectivement par Tamer Lučarević/Silvio Kujundžić et Tamer Lučarević/Safija Boškailo, ont été imprimés dans un même feuillet composé de 10 timbres (5 de chaque), dans un carnet composé de 6 timbres (3 de chaque, tirage : 8000 carnets) ainsi que dans un même bloc-feuillet (tirage : 20000). 
As a reminder, the theme chosen by the PostEurop association for the EUROPA stamps issued in 2024, underwater fauna and flora ("podvodna fauna i flora" in Bosnian) highlights the biodiversity of European waters which suffer from overfishing, pollution and climate change and which must be protected for future generations.
On May 9, 2024 (Europe Day), the Post of the Federation of BiH in Sarajevo, one of the three postal operators of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), together with the Post of Republika Srpska (Pošte Srpske) and the Croatian Post of Mostar (HP Mostar), put into circulation two stamps illustrating this theme, in particular a species of local trout and an aquatic plant.
These two stamps (3.20 BAM, print run: 20,000 each), designed respectively by Tamer Lučarević/Silvio Kujundžić and Tamer Lučarević/Safija Boškailo, were printed in the same sheetlet made up of 10 stamps (5 of each), in a booklet composed of 6 stamps (3 of each, print run: 8,000 booklets) as well as in the same souvenir sheet (print run: 20,000).

Le timbre à gauche est consacré à la truite à lèvres molles (Salmo obtusirostris) ou truite Adriatique, une espèce endémique des Balkans, rare et protégée.
Cette truite au statut "En danger" a été recensée en Europe, uniquement dans le bassin versant de l'Adriatique dans les rivières Krka, Jadro et Vrljika (Croatie), Neretva et Buna (Bosnie-Herzégovine), Zeta drainages (Monténégro) ainsi qu'en Albanie.
Cette espèce est menacée par une pêche intensive et l'hybridation avec d'autres truites. Elle est surtout menacée depuis l'introduction massive de l'ombre commun dans les rivières de son habitat.
L'autre timbre représente une fleur de nénuphar jaune (Nuphar lutea), l'espèce la plus commune du genre Nuphar en Europe. Les herbiers de nénuphars jaunes accueillent de nombreuses espèces et sont souvent fréquentés par des bancs d'alevins qui y trouvent de la nourriture et des abris.

The stamp on the left is dedicated to the softmouth trout (Salmo obtusirostris) or Adriatic trout, a species endemic to the Balkan region, rare and protected.
This trout with "Endangered" status has been recorded in Europe, only in the Adriatic watershed in the Krka, Jadro and Vrljika rivers (Croatia), Neretva and Buna rivers (Bosnia-Herzegovina), Zeta drainages river (Montenegro) as well as in Albania.
This species is threatened by intensive fishing and hybridization with other trout species. It is especially threatened since the massive introduction of the European grayling into the rivers of its habitat.
The other stamp depicts a yellow water lily flower (Nuphar lutea), the most common species of the genus Nuphar in Europe. Yellow water lily beds are home to many species and are often frequented by a lot of fry which find food and shelter there.
